Pavilion slimline s5660f digital audio
I am trying to hook a digital audio connection for my sound 5.1 surround via fiber optics 6' / 1.8 m. The problem I have is the plug that connects to my digital audio port on pc is too big. Can someone tell me if there are cables to fibre optics different meter size and if so what size I need for my pc model. I can't find this info anywhere hp.com Specs for my computer. Thank you... xx
Yes, the fiber optic cable sockets are in different sizes. I know that the selection where I live is limited, but I am sure that you would have a hard time to find them if you look pretty hard.

HP Pavilion Slimline s5660f PC
My original PC supplied with Windows 7 Home Premium 64 - bit OS. I have upgraded to Windows 8 last year. How can I perform a recovery on my PC? If I boot from the recovery in my hard drive partition, go back to Windows 7?
You can try to configure the two operating systems on your laptop if you use the commercial version for both operating systems. Ideally, you should get an option for this during installation to configure it that way.
You can't keep 1 OEM operating system and the other in commercial Version. Also it is not recommended or advised for laptops.

I have a Pavilion Slimline S3300T. KC833AV prod # #ABA. OS vista Home Premium 32 bit. The sound card will allow me to record audio directly from the internet?
The sound card is not big thing to do with it, but there are third party software out there that will allow you to do.
WaveTap is recommended by LifeHacker.
Here is an article on their website explaining how to use it:

My HP Pavilion Slimline s5-1000z with Realtek HD audio driver who won't provide any MIDI output
HP Pavilion Slimline, model s5-1000z - OS is Windows 7 64 bit
I recently installed a Music Creator 4 and found that no MIDI output is available to play music I "created". : - (
I have to install another sound card? or is there something that I am missing in the current configuration on my PC?
Hello Jack46,
It does not appear that your computer sound card comes with a MIDI port. You can get a card (or adapter) that is supported by this port.

I want to find the digital audio output on my Pavilion vd6853ea notebook
I spent far too long trying to find where this output.
I have a very good stereo and at the moment am through a USB cable to connect to my DAC.
It seems that there is an output digital realtec somewhere on the laptop as it appears not when I go to the playback devices and it tests ok visually.
The 3.5 jack plug is just analog and hybrid not a spdif.
Where is he?
Please help as I am getting really fed up now!

I thank very you much for the quick response.
I thought that might be the case.
Can I ask you a few more questions please?
If I want to get one don't output digital audio not using a HDMI (my DAC has not this entry), I can get a good result with something like a Musical Fidelity V USB converter S/Pdif link or a digital audio interface M2Tech Hiface? Sorry, I can't make a recommendation on one of these products as I am not familiar with them.
Is it possible to change the soundcard with optical or coaxial output? The sound of your laptop is an integrated solution. It's a (built-in) welded chip on the system board. It cannot be updated.
Thanks again for the kind help!

Pavilion Slimline s5780t: compatibility Windows 10
Hello
I have a friend with the model listed above. It was recently upgraded to Windows 10 (translation: Microsoft forced the upgrade on him without his consent). His PC was working fine before the upgrade, but since then, he has been presenting all kinds of different problems.
Before you start to look at the details, I just wanted to know if this model of PC is compatible with Windows 10 in the first place. I came across the site of HP in the hope of finding this 'picture' of the models tested, but have not been able to find it anywhere.
Could someone be tell me if the s5780t flag has been tested with Windows 10 or direct me to where I might find myself?
Thank you in advance.
Hello:
HP does not support this model for W10, and there is no W10 driver for it on the support page.
Here is the link for the product... it's 2011, which is older that the deadline for what tested HP of the PC for the W10.
Here is the link to HP on compatibility with W10...
http://h22207.www2.HP.com/us-en/document/c04731185
This PC must be able to run W10 OK on the basic material. I have two HP business class PC with Sandy Bridge CPUs and chipsets, and they work fine. Audio different chips well (Realtek).
Now if this model has a tuner TV and other optional devices, those who can not work.
The Beats Audio may not work... However, try this driver W10. It works on many HP PC with audio IDT bat.
This package provides the Tempo IDT High Definition Audio Driver for assumption of office models that are running a supported operating system.

Pavilion S5-1204: USB Ports does not: Windows 7 HP Pavilion Slimline
Hi all
Yesterday all of a sudden the USB ports are not read. I have cameras and use a data transfer cable or a card reader to transfer to the office. Now they do not read. Tried the front and back of the usb ports. However, the optical mouse that uses a usb device works. I don't understand how the mouse works and the purse strings of data transfer and the readers aren't.

Help!
Update: I did troubleshoot a HP check and update driver. The screen messages
USB root hub: this device does not work correctly.
The current tab:
Generic USB Hub (6)
1 port available
Power required: 0mA
Solved.
I've narrowed the problem to the camera. Very strange. The camera will take pictures and display them on the screen. But something is happening internally where the image will not transmit or transfer it via a usb device.
I have another device with a transfer device and it works. So it seems I have to buy a new digital camera. BTW, it is a Nikon S2800 - not recommended.

Hello
I learned a lot from browsing these forums already, for that I thank you.
It seemed like the perfect place for my questions.
Due to the limits of my technical knowledge and the age of the components in question, I'm having a hard time finding Info for comparison for the task I have in mind.
Essentially what I would do, is make the best targeted computer audio I can with what I have on the spot.Ideally, I would like to be able to use 2 monitors and use the second HD as slave for just load and run samples and VSTi, while programs are on the other hard drive.
Okay, so I have two desktop computers, each with a bit of a problem...* COMPAQ Presario CQ5110F (2008ish)

HP Pavilion Slimline s5220f: BOOTMRG is missing
I recently came across this message when my computer starts after the HP logo screen. Before that happened, HP asked me to run a diagnostic equipment. He said that my hard drive is damaged and asked me if I wanted to restore to the original factory setting. I said yes, but realized, she would erase all my files. I immediately cancelled out of the process. I think that may have damaged essential files. When I press F11 and try the system restore, it error. Should I leave a disc? If Yes, where can I get this drive?
Computing: HP Pavilion Slimline e5220f
OS: Windows 7 Home Premium
Error during a system recovery attempt: "Recovery manager cannot restore your computer by using the original image. Please contact HP support. "Error code: 0xe0ef0003.
Hello:
All first if you have files you want to recover before restoring the operating system, you can make this bootable CD and using the graphical interface, you can explore the hard drive and you can copy all files/folders on a portable hard drive.
Connection and operating instructions is less.
http://support.Kaspersky.com/viruses/RescueDisk
To order a recovery media for your PC, click on the link below and then click on the link order recovery media.
You can also make your own Plains windows 7 installation media if you can read all 25 characters of the product key windows 7 on the Microsoft COA label because of your PC.
Here's how...
If you can read the Microsoft windows 7 25-character product key, you can download simple Windows 7 ISO files to burn on a DVD for the version of windows that is installed on your PC, and which is listed on the Microsoft COA sticker on your PC case.
Burn the ISO with the option to burn the ISO on your DVD burning program and burn it at the slowest possible speed that will allow your program. This will create a bootable DVD.
Or use the installation of Windows 7 USB/DVD tool to compile the ISO file that you download from Digital River. Link and instructions below. You need a 4 GB flash drive to use the USB compilation method.
http://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msstore/HTML/pbPage.Help_Win7_usbdvd_dwnTool
Use 25 characters on the PC product key to activate the installation.
The key will activate a 32 or 64 bit installation.
Then go to the support of the PC and driver page to install the drivers you need.
Link to downloads ISO of W7 is below.
http://www.mydigitallife.info/official-Windows-7-SP1-ISO-from-Digital-River/
Alternatively, you can recover your files if do you your own install of W7 disc and not partition or format the drive and let windows install on the current C:\ partition. It will create a Windows.old folder.
After W7 install, you can click the Windows.old folder and copy all your stuff on a portable hard drive.
When you are sure that you have copied all the files from the windows.old folder you can remove it by running the disk cleanup utility and click the downstairs cleaning system files box to the left of the disk cleanup window.
Check then the windows.old folder should be deleted when you see it in the list of objects to delete.
You can even use the method above to retrieve your files, have your PC run, order the recovery disks and use them to make your PC as the day it came from the factory.
So, there you have it... an index of possibilities.

HP Pavilion Slimline computer Office S5610F - drivers Windows XP
Hello HP Forum,
My father recently bought a HP Pavilion Slimline S5610F desktop, refurbished and wants that I format and install Windows XP. I was wondering if this is possible? In the past, I have sought answers from this forum and have always made to answers and help I've gotten. I know that it is already harder to find drivers with my Compaq a few years ago, so I can only imagine that XP drivers are still harder to find now.
Thank you in advance to help you with this matter.
Stéphane
Hi, Stéphane:
Sorry, none of these drivers were working. I took a bet on them being identical to that of a PC HP Pro 3125 which had the same chipset.
Try the driver for chipset southbridge AMD from AMD (first listed file).
http://support.AMD.com/us/gpudownload/Windows/pages/raid_windows.aspx#3
The image you posted will take awhile to get through.
In the meantime, you can try the audio drivers / Realtek network on the Realtek site:
Audio
Accept the agreement. Download and install the file 6th on the list (first in green).
Network: Try the 4th on the list.

Add a Firewire expansion card to my Pavilion slimline 5210t
Can I add a Firewire expansion card to my HP Pavilion Slimline Desktop 5210t? Using Windows 7 64 bit. Any help you can provide about what to purchase or installation will be appreciated. I am trying to download movies from my Sony Handycam which uses the digital 8 mm band and has an output of firewire 4 pin.
Hello:
It is the only card that I could find that would work with the low-profile chassis has your PC.
Please feel free to look around a few others.
http://www.Newegg.com/product/product.aspx?item=N82E16815124072
Your choices are limited due to the fact that your PC requires a flat mounting bracket to secure the card.
The motherboard on your PC supports the two PCI express or PCI cards (there are 2 PCIe x 1 slots and one PCI slot as shown in the illustration below (white parallel slits at the bottom of the motherboard).

I don't know if it was just the misinformation on the Bestbuy description because it was a refurb or Speccy reading it wrong, but I just bought the refurb HP Pavilion Slimline s5610f was supposed to have a 7200 RPM HARD drive according to everything I read.
This is the profile for HP http://h10025.www1.h...R1002_USEN#N455
Here is the description of BB http://www.bestbuy.c...da914375cf8en02I looked around and everything indicates that the device of WDC WD64 00AAKS-65Z7B0 as being 7200 RPM SATA drive. Speccy also lists it as a 2 MB cache, which I don't think is correct, should be 16 MB, but I'm not too sure.
Any help would be appreciated, as other ways to identify the number of towers disk and memory cache.

HP Pavilion Slimline s3720f: what video card should I buy?
I want to add a new video card (not too expensive) for my old HP Pavilion Slimline s3720, but I do not know what video card to buy, because there are far too many choices. I know that the new card must be low profile with a half support so it can fit into the currently available in the motherboard slot. I hope that Conect my Dell UltraSharp 1708FP 17-inch LCD flat monitor VGA on this new card to get the best resolution and graphics. Can someone give me a recommendation indicating which card to buy? Please be specific. Thank you.
The slimelines should never require a lot of video. Your 2008 model circa was Vista. Updates drivers ended with WIN 7. It's a miracle you got WIN10 without drivers available is another story. Another factor is the skinny 160W PSU. That limits your options if you have a. The common consensus is that either. added heat from a graphics card, the likely additonal to a new power supply really outweighed costs.
