    Hello

I guess that you do not see the CD/DVD drive in MY computer area.
    Right?

I think I can help you
First go to Device Manager and search for CD/DVD drive.
Select this device and delete it from the list.

Now, open the registry (type regedit in the search) and remove the filters above and below to the following registry key:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \SYSTEM \CurrentControlSet\Control \Class \{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

    Hello mike salinas.

    1. you have any third-party burning software installed on your computer?

    2. have you checked if the external CD drive works on another computer?

I suggest that you check if your internal CD-ROM drive is detected in the BIOS.

Usually, you must press a key (for example, F2, F12, DEL, ESC) or a key combination whenever you turn on your computer, but before I get to the BIOS to start Windows. Check to see if there is the CD/DVD drive in the BIOS.

You can see the article for more information about the BIOS:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/BIOS-frequently-asked-questions

Regarding the external CD/DVD drive, I suggest you see if it works on another computer.

  • Equium A80 - BIOS does not detect new CD/DVD drive

    Hello

I had to change a DVD player in my laptop Equium A80 earlier and now have problems using the restore DVD to my laptop to factory settings. I updated the BIOS with the latest version available, but the BIOS is still not able to see the DVD player, so does not start a restore. The DVD is fine once Windows has loaded and works very well on another PC under BIOS. I tried another DVD drive on the laptop, but he is unable to see anyone.

Anyone have any ideas on what I can try?

    Thank you!

    Hi mate,

First of all the CD/DVD drive must be recognized in the BIOS that you can boot from the CD/DVD drive. Otherwise it of not possible to boot from the Toshiba recovery disc.

What is the type of the old/new CD/DVD drive?

The user manual contains a list of compatible drives. It appears here? The fact is that not all drives are compatible with all laptops.

  • All of a sudden my laptop does not recognize the cd/dvd drive.

Just today my cd/dvd drive is not recognized. My laptop is HP Pavilion dv6244us, Vista Home Premium software. The cd/dvd drive is only a factory with LightScribe. When I double click on it, it says what follows in the device status area: "Windows cannot start this hardware device because its information of configuration (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19) "I'd appreciate any help you can give.

    Thank you

    Chris

Vista uses the Microsoft own driver and you don't need any special drivers to get the job of CD/DVD drive.
