Netflix had me uninstall and reinstall silverlifgt but will not play the movie from netflix. Err 1001, it says. What can I do?
Try a system restore.
Select any restore point when it was working fine.
Add http://www.netflix.com as trusted with tools on Internet Explorer Site.

Windows Media Player will not play cd but show no errors
Windows 7 Windows Media Player 12 - previously would play music CD (purchased at retail, not burned) that I inserted in the CD/DVD/BD drive very well. Now, whenever I put in a cd it seems to read the info of the cd (album, artist, title), but when I try to listen to a song, I see a red X. There are several known changes made to my computer since the last time I played a CD. These include some Windows updates (which have been applied automatically during the stops), a Java Update, an update of Adobe Flash and possibly others that I don't know or don't remember.
I was a bit confused about whether it was a hardware problem or software, because Windows Media Player seems to read at least part of the ok CD to get the album and track information, but could not play all the tracks. Just before I read your suggestions, I tried something to isolate if it was a problem with Windows Media Player or a CD drive problem. I opened iTunes was already installed on my computer and previously used to play music stored on the hard drive (but has never been used to play music directly from CD). I inserted a CD with Windows Media Player could not play and iTunes has played the CD fine. I closed iTunes and then reopen Windows Media Player and now he can play any CD just fine in Windows Media Player. I am happy to say that everything seems to work fine now, but I have no idea why the problem disappeared after using iTunes when I could re - create the problem at will before that try to play all the CD with Windows Media Player.
As a last test, I put a known "damaged" music CD. It acts like the previous problem - i.e. can read/display the info of the album and the way tracks but cannot read any track, shows the red X next to each track he's trying to play, and by clicking on the red X opens a box that says "Error Details" and nothing more. It would be nice if it gave an error code or a more descriptive message.

Help! Last year, Internet Explore kept closing (Data Execution Prevention) so I switched to Firefox, which is great, but since then Windows media Player will not work. Moved this year on the campus of the University and since then (using the University proxy server) install windows updates is no longer. It's a new laptop me issued by the University last year, is come pre-programmed with Vista and Office, Media Direct and other programs, most of which I didn't use. Technical support here at uni cant/wont help... can you?

Any other antivirus (i.e. Norton, McAfee, etc.) has already been installed on this computer?
When you say 'Nothing' that you tried to install?

Windows Media Player won't play .avi or .mpg files; files which I know to be readable by Windows Media Player. In addition, this program has played these accurate files in the month of August. The files are readable on other programs. I searched other forums, but it is impossible to find an answer to this problem, except the recommendation of a codec - although I don't know how I have "lost" the codec in the past two months. Today, spontaneously and erratically, Windows Media Player recognizes the .mpg files, but not the .avi. Microsoft Security Essentials have installed and up to date, if it is not a virus. B50 will not play Flight games
I have a Lenovo B50 30 laptop running windows 8.1. I installed a few flight simulation to store games from the windows more mahjong game. All played fine.
I downnloaded accidentally a virus I have successfully got rid of before the upgrade to windows 10. Games time would not play, they will start to load then disappear in the taskbar. The mahjong game yet to play end.
I reformatted the drive and reloaded windows 8.1, but still the flight games will not play although once more mahjong will play.
Any ideas what caused this?

Will not play netflix movies - goes to another page of netflix.
Firefox 4 refuses to play Netflix movies streaming. They worked well in the latest version of Firefox 3 I had yesterday. I added a few security and blocking of modules but disabled then those other than the ones I had used with the previous version. Netflix recognizes my account but when I click on the button "resume play", or if I select a movie and he say to play, it is by default to another page of Netflix with instructions of some sort - it will not play streaming videos.
I've just updated to the new Firefox and would not be able to stream my Netflix movies. I was getting an error code associated with Silverlight. I called Netflix and they had me turn on my story and that solved the problem. Their technical support, said the history/cookies must be enabled to stream movies. I hope this helps! (I also followed the prompt on the screen of Netflix with this error code to remove my old registered certificates, etc.).

In-app music, press the "mini player" (the narrow ribbon at the bottom showing the song that is playing). Capture DV AVI will not play in WMP or VLC
I'm having a problem where the video I captured with first CS 5.5 will not play in VLC or WMP 12. More weird is that the video I captured with first of the 4 CS will play in VLC and WMP 12. It is not captured AVI DV HDV video. Here is a chronology of the events that took place:
1 Ran CS 4 Production Premium on Vista Enterprise 32-bit
2 rebooted my computer with Windows 7 Professional 64 bit
3 reloaded CS 4 Production Premium and has no capture video up to 4 # below
4. a few weeks later received CS Production Premium 5.5
5 load CS Production Premium 5.5 (installation not complete an upgrade) alongside the existing CS 4 installation.
Once I had CS installed 5.5, I captured 2 videos and then tried to play them in WMP. They play for two seconds and then WMP up an error it can not play the video. I tried VLC and DiVX Plus Player and no dice. DiVX player says I need ' codecs additional live show "installed, but does nothing else.
I kept thinking there is a problem with my Windows 7 or WMP on the first but old footage of CS 4 plays well in all three aforementioned players. Any thoughts?
OK, I get the same result, as you do, in WMP12. Any other request or player I've tried (including Premiere Pro) played the file without problem. WMP12 would play until the last second or two and then give the same error message.
At this point, I am inclined to believe that it is not so much the container or the header in the file causing problem, but the encoded video itself. I noticed that the video has had much bursting inside - he goes all Lego Land to pieces. Which could cause the decoder to freak - any other DV AVI I throw in WMP12 very good times. Are all the videos that present this problem like this?
As an experiment, what happens if you create a sequence of DV, drop an effect on the clip (which will force a rendering) and export to a DV AVI? It plays back in WMP12 then?
EDIT: I will answer my own question: the exported clip works very well in WMP12. This means that something affects the capture of the original images, or the tape itself is soiled upward and leading to strange results. The reason that does not even the right clip exported the initial capture is because the body will not be re - encode a DV film, unless it takes, and if you do not use an effect, it does not. It simply crosses the DV hardware in a new container file. When you put an effect on the clip, the original film must be recompressed, and that the rights of the ship, so to speak. The DV stream is encoded again, and now you have a standard/playable DV stream.

M4V will not play after the update of the Sierra
I have a number of m4v files that will play is more in quicktime or iTunes after my update for Sierra on my MacBook Pro and iMac. The audio plays fine but the video freezes on the first few frames. I have no problem with those files previously.

I have a similar problem as well. Some of my m4v files appear as a blank page with a folded corner icon. They will not play in anything other than VLC player. When I try to play them in iTunes the move, and he said LIVE. When I move the files to an older operating system (El Capitan), they play and correct appearance.

I have an iPod Touch 6th generation & Apple TV 4. After the update my iPod Touch IOS 9.3 & my Apple TV 4 to tvOS 9.2, just Airplay won't play as before. When I try to Airplay from my iPod Touch, Apple TV, Apple TV Gets the Airplay, but he won't play. I agree 100%. I'm airplaying of air iPad by using chrome to Apple TV tvOS 9.2. The flow of data downloads completely as indicated by the progress bar. Can manually advance to view individual images, but video will not play at all times. Airlplay utube on iPad app works fine, but the other videos are desperate! It really works after several attempts?
