PCI device error

I have a HP Envy 15 running Windows 7. I recently had the hard drive replaced and all the software reinstalled.  I get error 28 for my PCI driver

. Any help?

You have added the necessary details which should help figure this point.

You can probably find the drivers you need in the community of HP, but we would need your model number to help find that (there are more than one HP Envy 15):

But once you used Device Manager to determine the properties of a device and can display the vendor and device numbers:

You can visit:

PCIDatabase.com

And plug the values in Device Manager when the seller is 10EC and the unit is 5209:

By clicking the search box on the device and match the results you says it's a Realtek PCIE card reader device kind:

By clicking on the name of the seller link will lead you to the Realtek page that allows to locate the 5209 device and get the link to the Realtek site, where you can search for drivers (in the Notes field):

And on the Realtek page, there is only one option in the page that refers to a card reader for Windows 7:

I think it should.

But, you might check the download page for support/HP also and see what they have to say.

This idea will work for any device in the Device Manager, as long as you can get the vendor and device ID.

For PCI and PCIe devices, a BAR is a Base address register which is used by the BIOS or the OS to tell the device door on what looks to match its memory resources in. In my view, that it is a problem with the nvidia GPU (in cycle Fatigue on the BGA) card

    Hello

I found and read your other post regarding this problem and in my opinion the PCI Express error is related to a PCI device (i.e miniPCI module as WLan / Bluetooth, etc.) connected to the motherboard.

Of course I can't say for certain that this question isn't related to a GPU malfunction.
Usually, these details can be provided only by a technician who checked the laptop's hardware.

Usually I put t recommend to disassemble the laptop. It s very difficult to perform this procedure and of course there is always a risk of damage part do such procedure without any instructions.

  • Qosmio G40 - 10F won't boot up - PCI Express error

I recently installed a windows update and the laptop came in restart mode.
When the system boots it tries to start then I get a say black screen error PCI Express.

I tried a system restore, but the disc does not start, also tried to access the bios and it does not work.

Can I please ask for more help on this one because I don't have any problems at all, everything seems that a windows update has messed with my config in the bios.

    Help, please!

    Hello

I can't believe that Windows update would affect the BIOS.

In my opinion, this must be just bad luck.

PCI Express error means generally that a PCI device on the motherboard has started to malfunction.

This means that it could be a motherboard problem that could be solved by replacing the mobo

Sorry man, but I think that you don't have a lot of options here... seems that Toshiba ASP technician should take a look at this question :(

  • Looking for driver PCI device

    Hello

My friend's daughter's boyfriend decides to clean up his laptop (with XP) and removed all kinds of things, that it should not have.
I managed to get all the drivers and back stuff and work well except for one annoying thing. Whenever the machine restarts the 'found new Wizard"starts looking for PCI device, but then cannot find the driver. This happens each time twice.

This PCI device with a yellow cross in Device Manager under system devices so it's a bit strange with the XP installation disk, is not that it is. I searched on the net and you have to pay for the driver. But because we don't know what it's for, I've disabled in Device Manager and I check 'do not ask for this new' in the wizard. But the Assistant appears twice on each reboot.

    Ideas please!
    J

Yeay I think it is solved!. I noticed after installing all the SP3 update the new found material now sought device Modem, not to PCI and more. So I went ahead with it and who seemed to have done. More no errors in Device Manager and no new no found Hardware Wizard when you restart.

Thanks for all the answers because they are really helpful to know

  • Reinstall Winwows Xp, no driver PCi device

I have a Compaq Presario SR2013WM and I reinstalled Windows Xp Home Edition and now I have no drivers for one of my PCI devices. Also I can't get on the internet because I'm using a D - Link DWA - 130 Wireless N USB Adapter and my USB port does not recognize my software. I only have the driver for the adapter wireless on a CD, but the computer does not recognize the card. I think my problem with the adapter is because I only have service pack 1 and the requirements for the adapter must have service pack 3 installed. My computer has a processor of AMD Athlon 64 3800 +.

My devices with no driver are:

    PCI bridge device

    Other PCI bridge device

    PCI Simple Communication controller

    SM Bus controller

    Unknown device

    Video controller (VGA compatible)

Each device has a yellow question mark next to it in Device Manager and no driver installed.

My wireless adapter also has a yellow question mark with no driver installed.

I don't have an ethernet connection, but I don't know if it works, I have always used a Setup wireless on this computer.

I am posting this from another computer I own.

Thanks for any help you can offer.

Thank you for your help and point me in the right direction to start. I found most of my problems were when I reinstalled Windows XP Home Edition that it came with IE6 and some very outdated Windows updates. I didn't have Service Pack 1 installed, I noticed that, after the download of Service Packs 2 and 3 and have Windows Update help me to install the proper drivers that that most of my problems "cured." Whenever I tried to download another program, I get an error of not having programs right prerequesite installed so I can get on my other computer and download some program that I needed on my flash drive and I have several times until I finally got up all drivers and functioning. Then I went to Windows Update and scanned my system, only to discover that there are 162 updates that I lacked, installed all and computer seems to be running fine. Thanks again for all the help.

  • I/o device error series Equium

I have a satellite phone and when I put the DVD in the drive I get:

    d: / is not accessible
    and
This request could not be performed because of an I / O DEVICE ERROR.

Please someone can help, I had a lot of problems with this laptop and wondered whether or not I take repairs... yet again!

    Hello

This error is displayed because the drive is not able to read DVD media.
It would be interesting to know if this happens with all DVDs

    In any case, I think you should try it first;

Access to the registry, and then remove the Upperfilters and Lowerfilters completely from the following registry key values:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\ {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

After this short intervention, restart the laptop.

If this doesn't help then the chances are that the player could malfunction
In this case, you should ask the technician to phone for help!

    Good luck
