  I can't find the driver for my PCI simple communication controller that is compatible with 8.1 64-bit windows. could someone point me in the right direction (if all goes well a link to the driver I need)? I have already spent a lot of time to research.

  As I wrote above... If automatic installation method does not work, you must manually install the driver.

  Here's how to manually install the driver...

  Go to Device Manager and click the controller of simple communication IBOS who need the pilot.

  Click the driver tab.  Click on set to update driver.

  This file will be located in C:\SWSetup\sp34743.
