  I recently received a new work computer and tried to open a pdf file. Adobe Acrobat Pro XI was not active on my computer, so when I had to choose how to open the document, I chose to open in in Microsoft Word. Because then I got Adobe Acrobat Pro XI enabled on my computer, but when someone sends me a pdf file or if I save a pdf file it automatically opens and saves through Word. I guess it's failing because I chose to open it with Word the first time. How can I put it always to open and save pdf files in Adobe Acrobat Pro XI instead?

  Please post on the Adobe forums.

  In order to open PDF files in Adobe Acrobat always, you need to right click on the PDF icon and select "open with > choose default program.

  

  Open with dialog box that appears, choose the Adobe Acrobat program and click OK.

  

  Now, you'll notice that a PDF open in Acrobat only and not Word.

  To answer question you directly, no, you can't do nothing to prevent a valid PDF file opens in a non Adobe Reader, for better or worse.

  There are many ways. If you use a MS Office product, they have options to save in pdf format, if using Adobe Acrobat Reader, you can subscribe to services export to PDF and use Adobe Acrobat (the full version) is made to create pdf files, you can then use that. There are other options, but it's a start.

  I'm trying to use the Action Wizard in Acrobat to open PDFs MultiPage and their output in JPEG format. It works fine, but will not let me set the DPI for the JPEG? They come out of 200 DPI, but I need 300... I checked the preferences, but I can't find anywhere to change this setting. Back - does anyone know how I might be able to do this?

  My goal is to be able to open multiple pages pdf files and save each page save a JPEG file. I can do a Photoshop action. because it opens only the first page. It's narrow, but only if I can change the DPI.

  Hello again...

  In fact, I had 300 DPI images to work off Acrobat... I just had to make that the default on a document open... then when I ran action, it's default to the last used setting

  Download a pdf file, the file name contains a space in the middle of the file. The name showing on the 'Save' popup is first letters up to space. Works fine on IE8. For example, a file named "old snail_12345.pdf" would show only 'old' (ignore the "s"). This is on Firefox 30.0, WinXP Pro.

  Apparently, there is an extension to work around this problem. I have not tried myself. See:

  Or you can simply ask the PDF Creator to add a signature field, once you fill & sign the PDF form it locks the PDF fields.

  This is not what my question was going, it's the default location which is screwed, but I realized that the problem has been fixed in an update and update of my version of the Acrobat Enterprise is not (go figure, they are paid only to provide this 30 + employees!)  I will mark this as done.

  I often have to add pages to a PDF to another PDF.  I used to have no harm to add pages to an existing registered PDF then pushing the record button and that is.  Last month, after I add the page, then try to save the PDF file, I am now getting the error message "the document could not be saved.  The file may be read-only or another user can open.  Please save the document under a different name or in a different folder. »

  Now, I have to rename the PDF file I added pages and go back and remove the old PDF that has no pages added, which is a bit frustrating.  I use Acrobat X on Windows 7.

  Any ideas how I can troubleshoot or solve this problem?

  Make sure that the preview in Windows Explorer option is disabled.

  I'm working on a file with seveal work plans. I would like to export it as a PDF from Adobe, but the only option I see is to save as. This means that it replaces the current file have I am woring on with a PDF file. It is the source of the problems.   Save under doesn't replace any file, unless you choose the name and the location and confirm replacement. And if the command was available in the menu, export it would have been the same.

  I'm a little frustrated. I had a session with maybe 20 open tabs. I closed the browser by selecting just "Quit". Whenever a new start, all these tabs open again. So - I delete them all and let two tabs open. My home page and my email page say. Then I left and select "Save and Quit".

  I start again - and all is well. Only two tabs there. I support on ^ T to open another tab. Do something and get tired of deicide both to display my home page in this tab - so I click on the Home icon below the menu bar - and guess what - all those f * k 20. tablets reappear remember all these ugly sites I looked at weeks.

  Can you please clean this behavior?
