PDF is open in read-only Mode

Hello

I bought a 64 bit of Windows 8 (not pro) system and installed Acrobat Pro XI, I never installed Adobe Reader. The computer and Adobe are both completely up to date and I am running on the following problem.

I am looking for a pdf file in my browser windows and when I see in the preview pane (I have it eneabled) Acrobat opens the PDF file but won't let me save any changes that I do for them. At the beginning it was happing to local and network files but it is not only happening to files in my network drives. I did the following to fix the problem (which worked, but only for local files NOT of PDF in my network drives):

1 stop services for all Adobe products.

2. re-named my AcroRD32.exe to AcroRD32.OLD

3. open windows explore to use Acrobat as a tool for preview instead of the player.

The onlly worked for the pdf that I have saved locally, not on network drives.

I can't understand why this is happening. I have the following error when you exit a file selected in the preview pane and to work above at the same time and you try to save it:

"The document could not be saved. The file may be read-only or another user can open. Please save the document under a different name or in a different folder. »

I also selected another file in the pane viewing and then tried pourenregistrer the file and it worked. (This has confirmed that the problem was with the Preview pane, but only on the PDFs stored in a network folder, not locally)

All suggestions, answers, help? Will you please and thank you, I appreciate everyones help or comments!

Thank you

tech_geezy

This seems to be directly involved on the part of visualization for at least some people. Saw the preview locks the file so it cannot be saved. This is not how it is supposed to work, but I recommend to give up on this.

In Adobe Acrobat format, I found a solution.  Edit > Preferences > Documents/a view Mode I chose 'Never' to view documents in PDF/A mode.  It took care of my issue.

'READ ONLY WITH APPLY"in V$ DATABASE. OPEN_MODE means that active Data Guard is enabled.

Oracle does not check if you have the right license: it's up to you to know which license, you have to your database environments.

  • Generation to EXPLAIN the PLAN on a database that is open in READ ONLY mode

    Hello

I use the Oracle 10.2.0.3 version.

If my database is opened in READ ONLY mode, means that no insert/update/delete operations are allowed here.

During the generation of the PLAN to EXPLAIN this, the PLAN_TABLE registrations for any SQL. But my database is opened in READ ONLY mode, means that no inserts can happen.

So, how can I generate EXPLAIN PLAN for my SQL in this State?

    Thanks in advance.

You can always do: 'explain the plan in some_table@remote_database' to avoid inclusion in the local database. Unfortunately 10g added an extraction of the sequence of the code "explain plan", and that's where the call fails if you have tried this distant approach on your version.

Here's an idea that I have not tested. If you configure a link of data to your database from production to the database read-only, you could then do a "explain plan" in the database of production for the SQL statement by changing each object reference in the SQL statement to "object@readonlydatabase". In most cases this will allow the optimizer to recognize the statement as "entirely to distance" and get the optimizer on the readonly database to create the execution plan - which will be then written into the production database.

  • authorization for file opening in read only mode

I have a server with about 10 computers. I need an authorization on a few of them to open files in read-only mode.

-For all files, when opening, ask for password. If the password is assigned, and then open the full version. If the password is not assigned, then open it in read-only mode.

Is there a chance to implement cela in win 7 or win 10?

    Thank you!

Using the permissions of files and folders, you can set user account of the person having or not a write access to a file.   For example, I could mark a file 'Shawn can change', but 'Ale can only read.

But would not ask for a password each time, she would use just any password used to connect to the computer (your user password).

If you ask every time you open the file, you must use a file format that allows passwords.  This could be Word, Excel, PowerPoint or other Office file.  To set a password on those, click on "save under", then the option tools in the save box will allow you to set passwords.  You can set it is read-only for everyone unless they know the password and make it editable.

  • Windows Mail open links in Word in "read only" mode.

When I click on a link in my email Word 2007 opens in read-only mode and not a browser so I can visit the site. I'm using Vista Home Basic Service Pack 1. By clicking on a link in the body of the email will not open a browser. It opens Word 2007 in read-only mode.

The answer to this problem is to make sure that Internet Explorer is your default browser in Windows 7. For some reason, a change was made in Live Mail which, if IE is not the browser by default, links mail won't open in Word in offline mode.

  • Open a document in read-only mode

    Hi all

I created a group in which we

edit box that shows the path to the document

Browse button to enable a user to select an indesign document

    Button 'open read-only '.

My requirement is that after that selection of an Indesign document if user click on button 'Open read-only' then it will open the document in read-only mode.

I will be very grateful to all members of the community if anyone can give me a tip on how to achieve this.

    Kind regards

    Alam

    Alam,

If you change the attributes of the file before opening to only read the file will be opened read only by Indesign. And then you could put an answering machine that could clear the read-only report when the file is closed so that the permissions are restored to the original state.

  • USB key came into read-only mode

    Hello

This morning my USB key came into read-only mode and I can't reverse this trend. I just assumed to come from the third party who helped me write on NTFS, but I have a drive HARD Toshiba (NTFS) that works and a USB key that is read-only. I changed the third party software and the same result. I tried the option 'get info' and I still do not see the permissions.

I tried to format the drive - because it is read-only won't let me not - it. And so on.

I tried disk utility - no result.

I need an idea, suggestion, something for it to work.

    Thank you.

When some Flash storage starts to falter, it locks in a read-only mode. So, it might be failing.

When you try to format the drive, you must select the drive itself in disk utility, not partitions. If that's how you try to reformat, so I guess it's a failure.
