Advanced systemcare cannot continue to operate in read-only mode.
I got this message when I went to defragment and aimed to scandisk.exe.
How can I change the read-only mode?
grampsny
Hi grampsny
1 did you defrag earlier?
2. have you made changes on the computer recently?
I suggest you to run the check disk at the following link:
How to perform disk error checking in Windows XP
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/315265
Note: Running chkdsk on the drive if bad sectors are found on the disk hard when chkdsk attempts to repair this area if all available on which data can be lost.

A backup I use regularly is currently not recognized - I went through several pages of suggestions without deleting the instructions to format the drive. I did chkd sk/p/r suggestions with this result:

Then I tried to reassign the drive letter of the F to h: the display shows the file system is "RAW and the status is healthy, etc." He doesn't see this as a NTFS format, even if the chkdsk identified it in this way with the correct volume lable, so I know it was to see the right player. I almost all still on my coomputer - this backup is material that I could go back more old backup drives, but it's the best version of consolicated of my automatic backups of Win 7, so I didn't it wouldn't be pretty. Am I out of luck? Is this drive Kaput
and should I give up on this?

Vista Anti-Spyware continues to operate and has only browse to an Internet Explorer upgrade.
We have recently installed McAfee Anti-virus on our computer. Vista Anti-Spyware continues to operate and has only browse to an Internet Explorer upgrade.
How can I make the default antivirus McAfee for computer and remove Vista Anti-Spyware? It is not in my software to uninstall.
Thank you
Sarah
Sarah;
Your system is infected with a rogue security application. Use these instructions to remove it:
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/virus-removal/remove-win-7-Internet-Security-2011
If you had a legitimate anti-virus installed before McAfee, did you remove it with a removal tool specialized Publisher of this previous anti-virus before installing McAfee? Inability to completely remove previously installed security real-time applications can cause performance problems, system instability and even reduced the new facilities of security features.

Will only open in read-only mode
I created a PDF to a Word document in Adobe Acrobat Professional 10.1.1. When I opened the PDF it will only open in read-only mode. I want to change the security settings to prevent editing before I send it but the file > properties > Security > > security method is gray and the value "no security". I tried certifying and signing the document and even put in an envelope with no luck.
Help.
Thanks in advance.
In Adobe Acrobat format, I found a solution. Edit > Preferences > Documents/a view Mode I chose 'Never' to view documents in PDF/A mode. It took care of my issue.
Thank you.

Generation to EXPLAIN the PLAN on a database that is open in READ ONLY mode
Hello
I use the Oracle 10.2.0.3 version.
If my database is opened in READ ONLY mode, means that no insert/update/delete operations are allowed here.
During the generation of the PLAN to EXPLAIN this, the PLAN_TABLE registrations for any SQL. But my database is opened in READ ONLY mode, means that no inserts can happen.
So, how can I generate EXPLAIN PLAN for my SQL in this State?
Thanks in advance.
Best regards

You can always do: 'explain the plan in some_table@remote_database' to avoid inclusion in the local database. Unfortunately 10g added an extraction of the sequence of the code "explain plan", and that's where the call fails if you have tried this distant approach on your version.
Here's an idea that I have not tested. If you configure a link of data to your database from production to the database read-only, you could then do a "explain plan" in the database of production for the SQL statement by changing each object reference in the SQL statement to "object@readonlydatabase". In most cases this will allow the optimizer to recognize the statement as "entirely to distance" and get the optimizer on the readonly database to create the execution plan - which will be then written into the production database.

Database pending automatically in READ ONLY mode
Hello
I saw two or three times as my standby database in READ ONLY mode automatically and so I have to stop, that it is put into recovery mode,
Can someone tell me please the reason?
DB_VERSION:-10.2.0.4
OS_VERSION:-Windows 2003 Server
Thanks in advance,
Girish
Published by: Girish Sep 29, 2010 05:47Hi Girish,
What needs to happen, you must have obtained your automatic oracle services, so whenever your server restarts, it starts services and puts the database in READ ONLY mode standby, now why your standby gets only reading must be because you must have defined the attribute - startmode for this as automatic (using ORADIM), so whenever the server reboots restart the database service and your database in read-only mode.
I suggest that you change the instance attribute using ORADIM and value startmode - MANUAL.
Hope it would work.
Kind regards

USB key came into read-only mode
Hello
This morning my USB key came into read-only mode and I can't reverse this trend. I just assumed to come from the third party who helped me write on NTFS, but I have a drive HARD Toshiba (NTFS) that works and a USB key that is read-only. I changed the third party software and the same result. I tried the option 'get info' and I still do not see the permissions.
I tried to format the drive - because it is read-only won't let me not - it. And so on.
I tried disk utility - no result.
I need an idea, suggestion, something for it to work.
Thank you.
When some Flash storage starts to falter, it locks in a read-only mode. So, it might be failing.
When you try to format the drive, you must select the drive itself in disk utility, not partitions. If that's how you try to reformat, so I guess it's a failure.

Windows Mail open links in Word in "read only" mode.
When I click on a link in my email Word 2007 opens in read-only mode and not a browser so I can visit the site. I'm using Vista Home Basic Service Pack 1. By clicking on a link in the body of the email will not open a browser. It opens Word 2007 in read-only mode.
The answer to this problem is to make sure that Internet Explorer is your default browser in Windows 7. For some reason, a change was made in Live Mail which, if IE is not the browser by default, links mail won't open in Word in offline mode.
