Satellite M30X-129 card wireless system breaks down

My wiresless card began to crash my system start up. I get a too brief to read flash of blue screen with the text after the Toshiba start screen and then he tries to start again and this cycle continues.

If I change the power supply for the Wireless card off switch it starts OK and operate without wireless connection.

If I put the Wireless OFF card using the harware manager and put power on ok wireless, it will begin what it seems it's a software related problem.

The hardware Manager shows the card to function properly.

Is there a way to debug the startup process to see what is the origin of the crash?

I think that these tools are available for the service people only I put t know any free tool which can be downloaded from the internet.

> If I put the card Wireless OFF using the harware manager and put power on ok wireless, it will begin what it seems it's a software related problem.
If the wireless network adapter is disabled in Device Manager, then the operating system cannot access this device and therefore the system not crushed. The Wlan switch material command the WLan antenna, so I think the issue may be related to software or hardware.

In your case, I will try to update the WLan driver.
If this is not enough, then the WLan miniPCI module must be removed and another miniPCI Wlan module must be added in order to check if the module is not defective.

In this case, you can determine the question

    Hello

As far as I know there should be a CD that was shipped with this card.
There you should find the drivers for this card. If the drivers on the CD don t work then try to update with the latest version.
For this, you can check this site:

  • Satellite M30X-129: recovery CD can be run from an external drive?

My wifi seems to have packed - recognizes nearby wireless networks but does not connect to them - so I will try to use the recovery disk product in the hope that it will bring back wifi.

However, the DVD Multi drive does not work - light flashes to indicate some sort of activity, but no drive appears in my computer. I think that if I buy the external drive, I can run the product recovery disc for this.
Is the drive Toshiba external DVD SuperMulti (PA3454U-1DV2) compatible with the Satellite M30X - 129 P - M 735? Product recovery can be run from an external drive (bootable?)?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

    Hello

According to this page of Toshiba, the drive is compatible with your device:
    e http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/options_and_accessories_search_by_model.jsp?servic = 1 = us & selSeries & selFamily = 2326 & SelCategorie = 2319 & family = 2326 & selP roduct = 98795

The fact is that only the boot device options available: USB-drive floppy/disk HARD/ODD/LAN
I know you can only boot from external CD/DVD drive if the device supports this option and the unit.
In my opinion be100% sure you should ask ASP for advice.

But know one other question: do you have you boot from the restore CD to recover the operating system?
If you want to recover the operating system, you have to start on this CD and do not run it under Windows. Check it out

  • Satellite M30X-129: CPU fan runs constantly after new XP Pro re - install

I just installed a new Samsung 120 GB drive in my M30X-129, an upgrade of the 60 GB IBM drive with what it was originally provided.

Tried ghost XP Home installation of the old drive to the new - but it didn't work for some reason, installation, attached to a page with the "Windows XP" logo on it...

So, I installed XP Pro with SP2 from scratch on the new drive.

After having done that, I then installed the Toshiba and utils drivers listed for your laptop:

    NES http://UK.Computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/download_drivers_bios.jsp?service=UK&mode=allMachi & action = search & teddProduct = 555

The problem I have is that the fan runs at full speed all the time - this isn't the case with the old installation of XP (was rare for it to come on at all when slowed down in the office - running full bore 100% of the time)

Research by and try a few suggestions:

-J' installed the common Utils from Toshiba
-J' installed the Toshieba power management - and set the fan speed to ' Silent' has ', but that doesn't seem to have any effect.

Any suggestions? for example. where I get the latest versions of the applications?

The noise of the fan slowly leads me to the top of the wall...

    Ben.

    Hello Ben

If you have installed your own OS and Toshiba designed drivers, tools and utilities, I assume that this problem cannot be software. I'm really not 100% sure why the fan always runs at full speed but Satellite M30X is around 2 years and I guess it's time to clean up. The second thing can be your new HARD drive.
It is also possible that new HARD drive produce more heat and sensors to register it and don t stop the cooling fan.

I recommend you to professionally cleaned the unit and remove any dust inside the unit. I'm pretty sure that cooling fan does not work at all times.

Also try to put the laptop into a slightly higher position (if possible at the back) and on this brand more interspace between the bureau and the cooling grill fan in the lower corner of your laptop.

  • Satellite A500-1GL - card wireless adapter problem

    Hi all

I had a problem with the card wireless on my laptop for months and have no idea how solve more.

Basically, the wireless card seems to go through phases does not turn on. One day I can boot up my laptop and it works fine, then the next day it won't work. The wireless button on the front of the laptop is turned on but don't turn on the red light.

In the past, I've managed to get over this by several reboots the laptop (until he decides to work) or reinstall flash, wireless etc. drivers card drivers. However, none of these things today seem to be making a difference.

The worst, it's that there is no continuity with when it does not work and how it is fixed (sometimes reboot once fixes it, other times reinstall drivers fix it and so on).

For this reason, I assumed that this may mean that there is some sort of hardware failure? But if I run the laptop in safe mode, the wireless still works without any problem.

Someone has an idea what is happening?

    Any help would be appreciated,

    Liam

    Hello

First of all I would like to know what system you are using and if you have tried to recover the laptop to factory settings in the past.

The point is that these issues are mostly related software and could be solved by resetting the system.

However, I think you know that the wireless network card can be turned on and off using the FN + F8 key combination.
Have you tried this combination in the past?

Second, you must check the WLan card status in Device Manager.
The point is that problems of card driver WLan, Wlan card doesn't would be not listed correctly in Device Manager. So this should be the next step.

Where the Wlan card is listed correctly, I assume that the driver is installed and working properly.

  • Satellite M30X-129 - no video on the second screen

I have a M30X-129, which for the most part works fine. However, when I have a second monitor attached (for example, an overhead projector) everything is displayed outside a video/film clip, which appears black. This occurs if Windows Media Player or Realplayer is used. All other programs and images are visible on the external monitor or laptop screen.

I installed Windows XP Pro on the orig XP Home version. All drivers were installed and updated as required. I thnk I have a Raedon graphics card.
Any ideas on how to have movies/clips on the second screen?

    Thank you.

    Hello

Most Windows applications and video cards do not support playback of video files on the screens at the same time. You can try to disable the video signal going to the built in LCD screen and display only through the projector.

  • Satellite C660 - no card wireless network in Device Manager

I had a Satellite C660 for months with a preinstalled operating system.
I've never had a problem with my wireless until recent days.

I checked Device Manager and it seems that the wireless card is missing,
I tried reinstalling the drivers but it stops immediately after extraction.

I did a full scan and found nothing, I am at a loss,

Thanks in advance for your help,

    Andy.

    Hello

You see yellow exclamation points or unknown devices in Device Manager?
These devices will appear if the driver is not installed correctly.

Otherwise, it might be possible that Wlan module is dead.

  • Satellite M45-165 - card wireless network not visible

    Hello world

I am pleased to join this forum. I have trouble with the map on Satellite M45-S165 wireless. My friend has a M45-S165, he lost the recovery disc, I haved high new Windows XP SP2 but when complete the Windows Setup, the wireless card is invisible, like this:

I do not have ' known reason, can you help me solve this problem? Thanks in advanced for any help

    Hi lemon tree,.

Have you checked the Device Manager If WLAN card is on the list? Maybe just the driver is missing, so it s not listed in network connections.
More recent WLAN driver download on the official website of Toshiba.

By the way: why you installed SP2 only? There is already a SP3 for XP it is important because it corrects a lot of security problems.

  • Wireless network breaks down Internet when transferring over network

I about gave up on that, but maybe someone can help.

I have Windows 7, my wife's computer has Windows Vista

There are also other computers on the network in the back using 7 and XP I think, but they are not involved in this problem directly.

My wife uses version 2 of Linksys Wireless USB adapter.  My HP is a built-in wireless adapter to the and I can't check from here, but I think that the problem is caused by his computer (or some sort of incompatibility between his and the router is a Linksys wrt54g)

in any case, the problem occurs when you try to transfer files between two computers (normally mine to his).  It's quite slow with only 1 meg / minute such as displayed by the dialog box, and it blocks the internet completely.  As soon as transfer us what it is, it just seems to kill the network.  We can download and surfing the internet but the computer to another, it just seems to die.  Now I think that I transferred to other computers (when my mother was visiting with his laptop) without problem, but with my wife of vista computer, it just dies.

Clues as to why this happens?

    Hello

It seems that something is wrong with your network topology.

If the router restarts and he doesn't back the Modem connection, I doubt that it is caused by computers.

What model of Modem you have and how the router WAN port keeps Internet active.

Ensure that your Modem is a Modem only, or it is a Modem/Router, so using a second router you create double route that destabilize the network.

BTW, if it was my system the first thing I will do is put temp computers next to the router and cable connection.

If there is a difference in behavior between the solid wire connection and USB wireless (whose rather fragile for heavy network works at first), I know better where I am.

    Hello

This happens also with the external USB mouse?
This occurs if the power adapter is plugged or only if the laptop running on battery?

In-hubs properties > Device Manager USB root-> power management
You will find the option called allow the computer to turn off this device to save power.

I would recommend the brand and disable this option.

    Maybe it helps.

By the way; When do you update the operating system? I think that it s there long time, perhaps some system files or registry entries are corrupted or a 3rd party application affect the USB functionality?
