PDF.js mangles police embedded Viewer

I have a number of documents I want to integrate into the Web pages for easy access. It is a PDF file generated with pdftex locally under MikTeX. They use fonts Adobe Minion Pro. They make seamless in Adobe Reader, Sumatra, PDFXchange and chrome (with its integrated Viewer). They are also great in the viewer of PDF of VPA (MuPDF library) and PDF to GO (Documents to Go) on Android... you get the idea. But in Firefox they interspersed with random characters. Example pdf and available screenshots (I do not see a way to post them).

In the meantime, I replaced the PDF.js with the Adobe plug-in that solves the problem for me. I am concerned about others who can visit the site with Firefox as default setting leaves these practically illegible documents. I have to change to use a different font in order to preserve compatibility with pdf.js? Minion is widely distributed and well regarded (and cheap) should be an adjustment important formatting as well... Please notify.

The latest version of the PDF Viewer is available as an extension and done a better job than the 0.6.143 version comes with Firefox 19 in many cases.

You can find the latest version of the extension PDF Viewer (pdfjs) here:

    iCloud drive does not have this capability. You must continue to use Dropbox or Copy.com.

  • Adobe Reader shows not pdf content, while the web viewer works.

    Adobe Reader does not show the content of (a lot of my) in PDF format, while the web viewer (chrome) doesn't work (OSX 10.9.5, Adobe Reader 11.0.12).
    The pdf files have photo in them so maybe that is why.

    Open the drive and go in Edition > Preferences > Page Display > content and the information on the Page and make sure 'See the large images' are selected.

    You have a PDF to hold on the viewer screen automatically when exporting to InDesign CS4?

    If you were to upgrade to InDesign CS5 or CS5.5 and if you exported as Adobe PDF (interactive), you can set the parameters for the layout display and Zoom.

    So that, as Jongware, its possible for individual users override this option (preferences > Page Display > default layout and Zoom) the number that will actually do that is actually very small.

  • How can I change the text in a pdf document using an embedded font?

    I'm trying to edit text in a pdf document where the text is in a (Nimbus San) embedded font, but when I try to add some text in the text box, it appears in Minion instead of the police of San Nimbus.  I don't understand why I can't change by using the embedded font.

    The fonts are licensed assets subject to single use. They are not intended to share, redesigned, etc..

    As part of the PDF standard that they included in a document so that the document can be considered reliably without the police be installed on the viewing station.

    To change you must have fonts installed on your computer. The possibility for the second parties to use the police violate the licensing of fonts.

  • Anyone print a PDF-417 successfully police?

    I've searched the forums on PDF 417, there was some relevant discussions but none responded with firmness with a positive result.

    I am looking to buy a PDF-417 for use in a subvi whose façade has a light (set to use the PDF-417 font) that automatically prints with the barcode on a laser printer. Since there will be a lot of data encoded in it, I was wondering if there are problems of native graphics with resolution.

    So, no matter which successfully done this before? Everything suggests sources such as where to buy? There seems to be a lot of "dubious" sources that I would avoid instead.

    The policies cost only a few hundred dollars so if no one responds, I'll just buy one initially to test. Finally, there are 6 stations to fulfil this function.

    Own thing with the camera focused on the scanners barcode, you can scan a bar code displayed on the monitor.

    Thank you

    Well, I have achieved success.

    Downloaded a trial version of PDF417 Fontware of Monrovia, used a simple ActiveX interface in LabVIEW. Attached is the bar code generated by using the font of LWA PDF417XS by 3 points.

    As I suspected, there was a problem. It looks great on the screen, but is a little pixelated in both axes, more noticeable horizontally. More pronounced on inkjet vs. laser printers. I'll experiment with other fonts and sizes in points.

    It does not analyze properly. Time to buy a corporate liscence.

  • Look at a PDF Portfolio on iPad: Content Viewer or other?

    Adobe Content Viewer: Can be used to display the normal PDF (created in InDesign, do not use DPS)?

    I'm trying to find the best way (app) to show my portfolio on the iPad. Should I use another application instead? Any suggestions? Thank you!

    To do this, you must use adobe reader or another PDF Viewer application.

    If you really have your heart set on using this app, you could create a folio and place the PDF pages in the InDesign document, but it is a little way away.

  • Impossible to apply the swf police embedded in the text in text layout

    Hello

    We have created a SWF for a police given (e.g., Calibri.swf) that contains all the styles (Regular, Italic, Bold, BoldItalic).

    We have created an xml that lists the name of the font and the path of the swf file. The names of xml is loaded into a drop-down list box in the application.

    When we try to apply the font selected in a text under text layout, it does the same. It sets the font to the font "Times" by default.

    Here is a snippet of code to apply the font for the text:

    private void selectFont(fontXML:XML):void {}
    var path: String = fontXML.@source;
    var myEvent:IEventDispatcher = styleManager.loadStyleDeclarations (FlexGlobals.topLevelApplication.url.substring (0, FlexGl obals.topLevelApplication.url.lastIndexOf("/"))+"/"+path);)
    myEvent.addEventListener (StyleEvent.COMPLETE, {function(event:StyleEvent):void}
    var editManager:EditManager = textFlow.interactionManager as EditManager;
    var itextLayout:TextLayoutFormat = new TextLayoutFormat();
    itextLayout.fontSize = 20;
    var fontName:String = fontXML.@name;
    Alert.Show (FontName);
    itextLayout.fontFamily = fontName;
    Alert.Show ("itext =" + itextLayout.fontFamily);
    editManager.applyFormat (itextLayout, itextLayout, itextLayout);
    var flowLeafElement:FlowElement = textFlow.findLeaf (editManager.anchorPosition) as element FlowElement.
    editManager.changeStyleName (fontName, flowLeafElement);
    });
    }

    Can someone please let us know what is missing in the implementation?

    Thanks in advance.

    Vikram

    Did you put the fontLookup in ITextLayoutFormat? It must be set to search for the police as an embedded policy. I think that, by default, it will consider it as a device font.

  • Police embedded in the epub file.

    Hi, I write novels using normal pages that was shipped with my imac and upload to Amazon KDP using epub. I just found out that my readers are unable to change the font size on their e-reader when I do that. I box unchecked the 'Embed police' in the drop down menu when the file is exported to epub and resubmitted, but appears not to have worked. Anyone had this experience? What is the solution? Thank you very much.

    Also ask in the forums from amazon if you have not already.

  • Panels remotely works is not in embedded view

    Hello

    I am developing a web version of my project using Labview remote panels. I have configured the properties of the web server it is described here: http://www.ni.com/white-paper/4791/en/

    Currently I am creating the web page on the web publishing tool. However when I select the Embedded display mode option I get a "Required VI is not loaded in memory on the server computer" error on the web page that is created. But if I select snapshot or monitor look a mode page no problem loading option.

    I use Labview 2013 and oppening web page in google chrome. The VI where I am trying to create a Control Panel has some subVIs that show the front when it is called. I forget not set up, or do I have to have instaled on my browser plugins?

    Found out what the problem was. I've been using google chrome and chrome does not support remote panels. Works fine on internet explore.

  • Police embedded in a class only works

    so, I finally managed to incorporate a font.

    I create another class-online police copy => copy the code (with the exception of variable renaming) => does not work.

    its in the same package, etc.

    I tried with another font: it works

    I have try the font I want... is not

    I can see the text and it reacts to the change in size just etc., it does not accept the police

    public class HeadLine extends Sprite

                headLine.y=30;

                addChild(headLine);
            }
        }

    Help, please

    I think that there is at least the property of missing IncorporerPolices on the textfield object.

    headline.embedFonts = true;

  • Police embeded

    What should I do for this problem...

    "The fonts must be included for any text that can be changed during execution, other than text with the parameter"Use Device Fonts". Use the text > order embedding fonts to embed fonts. »

    Select the textfield on the stage and ISO Panel properties use the Embed button to embed the fonts in the textfield.

    Or you can just ignore it completely, because it is not an error but just a warning/suggestion.  You can check your publishing settings to ensure that they are programmed to AS2.

  • Android - links embedded in PDF format

    Hello

    I have a group of PDF files that have embedded links to another.  If in the same folder location on a PC, the feature works.  However, if I download or drag and drop in a folder on my android phone feature stops.  I have the latest version of Adobe Acrobat and the pdf viewer standard phones, as well as various other options but the links do not work.

    This should happen?

    Thank you.

    Eddie

    Hello

    Emdedded PDF links do not rely on mobile versions of Adobe Acrobat. We regret the inconvenience caused to you.

  • How to open a PDF file using the built-in Viewer? (Windows 8.1)

    When I try to open a PDF file I have the pop-up dialogue "you have chosen to open *.pdf Firefox do with this file? And display in Firefox is not one of the options. I am sure that what is happening is that there is no dialogue, and the PDF has just opened in the integrated Viewer pdf.js. If something is wrong with my profile I guess.

    I tried the instructions here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/view-pdf-files-firefox-without-downloading-them

    I checked through all my extensions and you do not have open a PDF (I have uBlock, NoScript and Zotero).
    I completely uninstalled Adobe Reader.
    I checked that in preferences/Applications, PDF is set to "Preview in Firefox.
    I did as I went through: config and change all settings with 'pdf' on their return to their default values
    But none of these things work.

    Is there anything else I can try to get this working?

    I think the problem I had was that some of the PDF files is served by Web sites with a "header" (I don't really know what that means) called "Content-Disposition: attachment", and when this happens, Firefox refuses to load them into the integrated PDF Viewer. (I don't know why Web sites this.)

    It is very helpful, especially because Firefox gives no indication as to what is happening (why the user preference for a PDF file is not respected). I just thought that the PDF Viewer was broken and spent hours trying to fix it.

    If anyone runs into this problem, there is an extension that fixes it: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/firefox/addon/inlinedisposition/

    There is a Bugzilla bug open about it: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=773942

    As far as I can see, it would be trivial reflect changes the extension above in Firefox. In the bug of no claim that it would be a bad thing to do for safety reasons. But Firefox should at least present the user the ability to open the PDF file in the integrated Viewer or even more at least have explanations on why the PDF is not currently open in the Viewer, for example "this PDF file was marked for download, so for safety reasons it has not been opened in the integrated Viewer. Who would save people like me, who don't know the HTTP headers that are complicated, just think that Firefox is broken.
