• Library lock contention - A Cautionary Tale

  We recently encountered a library lock contention problem with our application apex (v3.1.2 on v10.2.0.5 RDBMS) on a site of great volume (800 + users) and I thought it was interesting to share what we found

  We needed to know what was causing the claim, which was where the script excellent tanel poder latchprof.sql (http://blog.tanelpoder.com/) has proven to be invaluable: he showed that there was a special SQL that was causing the problem

  turns out it was the call dbms_session.reset_package which is called every request made to the apex DAD
  
  This was also one of the best pieces of SQL by CPU in the database so clearly something was wrong
  
  cut a long story short, the customer has implemented
  
  session_cached_cursors = 75
  
  which at first glance does not seem unreasonable
  
  but since we know that apex almost never reuses the sliders (because he calls reset_package on each request) it seemed too high
  
  the normal recommendation for our apex application is to stick with the default value (20)
  
  the theory being that caching too many cursors just give the call to reset_package too much to do when its being called so often
  
  (on this site, we can see on 50 000 executions per hour on reset_package)
  
  the site has removed the parameter and performance has since returned to normal - and lock contention disappeared

  Cool post. One thing, I thought that maybe worth mentioning is that the default value is 50 for 11.2, which seems to be different from the default 20 you mentioned for 10.2.

  Hi, I am applying tide static pdf on new record file if content webcenter user interface (Regular... not through 11.1.1.8 new user interface).

  Here's the steps I followser.

  1. permit PDf export component converter IBR.

  2. created static model of PDF water mark

  3 check-ing the pdf file through native content webcenter UI (old user interface) with the ID value of watermark model and selected the type of model watermark = PDFW_Template

  But after check in the file, I don't see no watermark on pdf file pdf... Am I missing some thiing?

• Cannot display PDF Firefox 3D content

  I am trying to display a 3D PDF file created from a 3d design software in the web browser, PDF file opens but 3D in the file content PDF does not appear, if I try to open the same in IE it opens perfectly. Any solution for this?

  The current versions of Firefox have allowed a built-in PDF Viewer that has all of the features that other PDF as Adobe Reader readers have or can not work properly otherwise.

  You can change the action for Portable Document Format (PDF) to Preview in Firefox to use another application like Adobe Reader or define always ask in "Firefox > Options/Preferences > Applications.

  You can set the pref pdfjs.disabled true on the topic: config page to disable the build-in the PDF Viewer.

  You can check the value of pref plugin.disable_full_page_plugin_for_types on the topic: config page and delete the application/pdf if it is present or reset the pref via the context menu by default if you want to display PDF documents in Firefox with another application (i.e. not integrated PDF Viewer).

• MS Word footer ends the first element of the order when converting to PDF for reading content

  Does anyone else have this problem?  We have a model of large paper on department letterhead (MS Word 2010) with header and footer and converting to PDF using Acrobat Pro XI (v11.0.13.17), the walk ends by order at the top the reading list.  In any case to stop this from happening?

  Hi Matthew, when you are referring to the order of reading, looking in the content pane, pane hierarchy, or the component Tags - or maybe elsewhere? The Tags pane provides the reading order for the assistive technology (at). As general rule, repeating footers must be marked as background artifacts, so they will not appear in the Tags pane and will be ignored by AT. According to my experience, Word to PDF conversion sometimes does a better job than other times, but there is always a certain amount of manual fixes to get accessible PDF.

• Possible to open a PDF file in Content Viewer on iPad

  If this is true, why are we going to see this message?  And, how to allow us to solve the problem?

• Cannot test folio PDF Desktop Adobe Content Viewer

  I get an error when I'm testing my folio PDF format on my desktop Adobe Content Viewer.

  I get the error in Dutch (my language), but it translated: "this folio contains one or more fireplaces that are not yet supported for the viewer of content for the office. PDF batteries are only supported in iOS-viewers. »

  This happens when I click on 'Preview' in the folio Builder. I work on a Macbook with Mac OS X Lion.

  Help would be appreciated since I can't find anything about with PDF format folio on the internet!

  Well known limit and that is exactly what it says it is.

  You cannot use the Office Viewer to check PDF folios.

  I know this is an old thread, but I got this error even while following with your DPS essential training Lynda.com tutorial, chapter "Overview of your work" on the desktop, using the files in the tutorial for this chapter according to the guidelines. I use CS6, and is the version of the Viewer does not exceed 24. When I check the updates, there is none is available. This error could be related to the version of the viewer or a mistake in my folio creation?

  Pages v5.6.2 does not PDF export with functional links in the Table of contents. Pages ' 09 v4.3 exports PDFS with active hyperlinks in the Table of contents. Both tested on OS X 10.11.5.
