PE2950 BIOS without a floppy drive update

On the Dell site support the single package BIOS I can find for the PowerEdge 2950 must be used with a floppy drive - as the 2950 does not come with a floppy drive is there any other way to do it? -something like the tool of USBPrep which is used to provide the pilot during the Win2k3 install maybe?

Thanks for any info

  • Satellite A500-17 x - recovery of Bios without a floppy drive

    Hello

    I have a laptop Toshiba Satellite A500-TX.

My BIOS has been updated via the windows application, but the laptop has hung up and restarted (duh!). Now quite understandable, the laptop starts and doesn't show yet anything on the screen when powered on (I guess that the bios is damaged).

I found several ways to reflash the bios by using a floppy drive, but the problem is that the laptop is not equipped with a floppy drive.

Can anyone recommend sort reflash the bios with the floppy drive? Maybe by putting in the shape of the USB as a floppy drive and start? I tried to use the usb reflash via the method of phoenix

    .. .but does not.

    any help would be appreciated!

S is a shame and in my opinion, there is no real alternative for you about contact Toshiba service agent.
If you're lucky, just the ROM module could be reflashed, but in the worst cases, the motherboard may be dead.

  • PROTECTED P4000 - update the BIOS without a floppy drive

    Hello

I have a P4000 protégé who, I believe, was initially purchased without floppy drive. Now that I'm the Win XP operating system upgrade I need to install more memory, and like many other forum members point out it will not work without a BIOS update.

However the BIOS available on the site is for the installation of Tranditional only and requires a floppy drive (which I did not). Is it possible to obtain a version that runs under Windows, or find another way to start the traditional installation? The site seems to suggest that the installation of Windows is favored, but the software is not provided.

    Thank you.

    Hello Sir

As much as I know upgrade memory is not dependent on the latest version of the BIOS, and if you use compatible module there are not any problem. Anyway, I'm not 100% sure but I think you can do the BIOS update using the SD card.

If you have the time and opportunities please try it and let us know if it works.

By the way: all the updates to the BIOS are on the Toshiba download page and there are no other versions.

    Good bye

  • How to upgrade the BIOS without a floppy drive?

    Hello

I'm trying to update my BIOS using my CD player. I have an IBM Thinkpad 600E

The latest version on the Lenovo site is an exe which requires a floppy disk. Given that I don't have a floppy drive, no idea how to get this created on a CD as a bootable image? Or is it a different download for the same thing?

    Thank you

I'm not sure it's possible, an easy solution would be to get your hands on a diskette. Here's a bargain on the market at TPF.

  • How would complement a full computer backup in windows xp pro without a floppy drive?

I'm trying to do a full backup of my external hard drive with windows xp pro, but my dell did not come with a floppy drive installed.  It won't let me choose another drive to make the start of the startup disk or reboot disk.

Most likely your external drive is formatted using FAT32. The maximum value
size of the file for this file system is 4 GB less than a byte. Reformat your
external hard drive to NTFS (or use the Convert command):

I think you might return the system to the point of time at the beginning using the internal windows system restore option.

In system properties, you will find different tabs
The 4th called System Protection tab button: System Restore
Now, you will be able to choose the system restore point (date) that you want to load.

I guess this will restore the WLan driver too.

  • Install XP Home on a SATA I can't load the drivers to F6, because I don't have a floppy drive equipped

In order to launch a car diagnostic kit that is known to unstable on versions of windows more later than XP I completely reformatted the SATA disk on a laptop 5 year running Win7 Home old.  I tried to load drivers SATA to F6 during installation, but without a floppy drive, I can't do that. He appears to be very complex to format a memory stick to emulate a floppy disk and have yet to do that.

    Any help would be appreciated!

    Thank you in advance.

You can integrate drivers (and service packs) in a new installation CD with nlite...

Or otherwise, enter the BIOS and change the type of access AHCI/RAID IDE disk / ATA.

  • Access to the floppy drive crashes Windows with code: 0X000000F7

After you have installed the Windows XP updates a week ago (10/22/09 - while others seem to have gotten 0x000000E7 BSOD), my computer hangs when you try to use the floppy drive.  Neighbor has same problem.  However, another neighbour, who did not install the updates since 1 September doesn't have this problem.  We use Windows XP.  I even created a file on the diskette using the player of the 'good' of the neighbor and tried in my computer and the neighbour - always crushed the two machines.  Saw post to that topic or similar problem the other day, but he lost it when I hit the wrong button and cannot find him. Help!

He is now 10/29 (5:20 pm EDT), and after three days of trying to solve this problem, I'm really frustrated.  Carefully removed eight updates installed since 14/10/2009. I removed them one at a time in reverse order, they were installed (LIFO) and I tried using the floppy after each removal drive, but still get BSOD. My BIOS/CMOS watch floppy drive and my device manager says its working. I even deleted the physically and in the BIOS, floppy drive deleted the contoller of floppy and drivers floppy drive in Device Manager. restarted and other devices working properly.  Reinstalled drive, reset the BIOS, restarted and Windows loaded automatically (as checked in the Device Manager) drivers - always get BSOD when trying to read the disk.

I would have completely uninstalled CA, except that this user really liked the CA email spam filtering. So, I disabled the antivirus and antispyware of all parties and uninstalled the CA Personal Firewall, and here, the floppy drive has started working. I then installed the new Microsoft Security Essentials to prvide a / v sp and psyware protection.

  • How to install xp on a partition using cprompt in windows 7 without floppy drive

I want to install windows XP in one partition of my hard drive and I tried to install using windows XP CD whenever I get to the installation of windows environment a blue screen will come telling me that windows has stopped to prevent the HDD to harm. And I tried all the solutions, I got online not it solved the problem. So I want to perform the installation to the windows command prompt 7 without using floppy disks, all that I need on your part are the steps on how to perform the installation, thank you.

If your machine comes with Windows 7, then it is likely that the hard drive is SATA.

XP will not install on SATA drives natively. This is the usual reason for this installation failure.

You must either change the setting in the BIOS from AHCI to inheritance, or (preferred) to see if your vendor has drivers SATA for XP you offer then for installation via pressing F6 in the first installation of windows. Look for the message on the installation of third-party drivers at the bottom of the window.

  • The system recovery disk - how do without floppy drive?

I am trying to create a "system recovery disk" as part of the TOSSHIBA ASSIST (protect and fix the section).

However, before we proceed, I noted that he was invited to a 'floppy' create a recovery disc but this model without this facility data can be recorded on a CD. I didn't get throughout the procedure and find that I couldn't finish it due to no floppy drive!

Or otherwise just use the product recovery DVD - Rom supplied with the laptop in case of problem... not sure if this would hold the same data?

    Any help is appreciated!

    Hello Christine

If you look carefully on this print option (shortcut) it is written to create the CD drivers & tools and in aria info nothing follow description allows to create an external symbol to the top of the caisse de dépôt drivers & tools.

You use this shortcut, you can simply create Tools & Utilities CD and not the system recovery media. I did a few times without any problem. Equip your optical drive for CD - R, click on this shortcut, click the button BURN.

  • How do I create an ASR without floppy drive?

is it possible to create an ASR without floppy drive, can I do the computer using a USB key instead?
as you know all computers are more equipped with floppy drives.
    any help is appreciated.

The answer to the original question is:

    You do not have.

If you are using in relying on the built in NT backup to back up your system, it is the primitive technology (because he wants obviously - a floppy disk).  If you have a disaster (even minor), you'll have a big problem.

If you want to make a backup, it is logical to use modern technology - and it is not integrated with XP.

There are many popular options for XP Backup and imaging software (s) of third parties.

A people a popular seem to love East of Acronis.

With this (free 30 day trial) you save, make a bootable CD or USB bootable (which is modern, huh?) and use disaster.

They used to have a completely free version - maybe no more - just the trial, then you must buy it, but it is highly respected.

It is so much more robust than the XP Backup, it's laughable.

Many other options if you do a little research on Google...

Here are a few products that PML suggested could be appealing:

    Macrium Reflect
    Paragon backup and restore
    DriveImageXML

  • Restore my files to boot windows without a floppy or CD disc drive.

    Hi all, I recently downloaded and installed Kaspersky Anti-Virus and after installation, I did a full system scan. It crashed twice an hour in the scan so I rebooted and tried again third time lucky and analysis seemed to go without a hick and my last audit was passed to the point that it had frozen the last time and it was flat to the analysis of the files. I turned off the screen and lay in bed to watch TV... I woke up 2 hours later to the natural sound of my computer restart itself over and over and over and over again. Long story short;

I can't start on the login screen,

I get a screen black when you think of as the login screen is coming

Safe mode, safe with order, last known... etc etc etc, all are not continuous working - the computer to restart,

I scanned and then internet up and down and it seems that a windows file has been removed the kernel or something like that.

I downloaded countless programs to try to start from but they seem to all be designed for floppy drive and although my pc has a floppy drive, the laptop that I use to download programs does not work.

Can someone please send a link to a place I can goto, download a startup program I can put on CD using Sonic burning software and then insert into the pc and have it boot from that and fix what I have to.

Before anyone says I do NOT have a XP disk, I had one, but I lent it to my father to see if it would be useful to repair xp on his laptop computer and therefore is out with him in an argument, and I have never seen him or disc since.

    The STOP error report I get is;

    F stop: c000021a 0 x 0000005 (0x00000000 0x00000000)

Any light anyone could throw on this situation would be greatly appreciated.

Oh and I forgot, I just got the computer working again a problem I had with it, about 2 years ago, he got that frustrating PC has spent the last 2 years in the space between the roof and about 2 weeks ago, I brought down and started working on it with a cool head again , I thought I did (and I don't remember what I did to make it work again (lots of swearing, kicking and pray I think!)) In any case, I managed to get the system to work and not come with the famous Exploer has encountered a problem and needs to close the dialog and restart every time after, I thought that someone had invented a new virus that not everyone was on the height and given enough time the internet was coming down with people who had the same problem and is working on a way to solve IT where the 2 years in the roof space. Everything was fine apart from the fact that most of the programs I had installed in the start menu has gone and replaced with simple records, say the word desktop.something or other, my tools of sytem folder was empty, nero has disappeared-everything was a mess. I worked hard to delete unknown files, diagnostic programs, and I thought I was above it, a download gave me my system tools folder and all was well until... After about 5 days of work with no problems, I've been Googling for the Met Office weather report because of the snow and I was redirected to other sites, tried again and again and still same thing - another search-same thing - browser-same thing different...

Kaspersky, I thought that would hold the answer so I downloaded that has started to run a scan and you the top of the page of history, incredible scanning-crash-scanning-crash-scanning-rebooting.

Yet once any light which may be paid on any of these problems would be really appreciated that these problems are ongoing for so long it feels like a never-ending problem, and I don't see any hope at the end of the tunnel.

Thanks again and Merry Christmas to ALL!

    Hi Slayer_2029,

    · What is the number and the model of the computer?

    · What is the service pack installed?

    · What was the result of the last known good configuration?

As you said you've already tried safe mode, last known good configuration, and yet the results are negative. You may need to contact the manufacturer for additional troubleshooting disk.

You must either have the XP CD or you will need to create floppy drive.

You can check the link on how to solve the problem on the error 0xC000021A below:http://support.microsoft.com/kb/156669

    Merry Christmas to you too!
