  I had already found this file on the Pentax site and download it; but it did not work. The best answer I found is to buy a card reader with USB connection.

• Any ideas why PE7 will not manage Pentax Optio w60, avi?

  I am able to work with the files video avi on all my other software programs editing but PE7 is my favorite. For some reason any when I import the avi from my SD card files / Pemtax Optio W60 camera I can hear audio in the edit window... no video.

  I'm not 100% on that, but I've seen some comments on the forum Pentax that says Pentax AVI video uses NO compression DiVX or XvID... it is registered with the DV codec. I am not sure that is the codec used on this model... or what it means anyway.

  I would be recognizing all of the information, suggestions and recommendations to solve this problem.

  There are two good CODEC MJPEG who work with the Nikon D-90 hardware and will change in PrPro. The MainConcept and Morgan have done well. Don't know how well PE will manage, but otherwise well, advice from Steve he will get PE in DV - AVI Type II format.

  Recently bought a Pentax digital camera.

  When I try to view pictures taken with a camera on my L30, a message appears "locate and install driver software.
  I click Yes, another message appears - insert disc that came with your Pentax camera, what I'm doing.
  Finally another message - cannot install Pentax Optio M40, Windows is not found software driver for your device. I visited the Pentax site and contacted them and they told me that if I (preloaded) OEM of Windows I have to contact my computer manufacturer because the OEM versions are adapted to the computer on which it is installed.

  I'm really confused and I have to say that Johnny is quite right. Part 3 producers of software must adapt own software for the most used operating system. Hardware manufacturer has nothing to do with these programs.

• Shooting of the Modes PowerShot A2300

  I'm moving to the AUTO mode for the other firing modes listed in the manual. For example 'P', or fisheye or unclear.

  The device is new and is my first Canon camera. It replaces my old 3 MP Pentax Optio 330.   The Canon works well in AUTO mode, but I'd really like to try some of the other modes.

  The instructions on page 68 of the manual say until the LIVE is displayed, press the up arrow button repeatedly. But when I press the button repeatedly happening just between the words iFrame and AUTO. In other words, LIVE is not displayed. Therefore, I am unable to proceed to the next step.

  I checked the manual in PDF on the CD and also downloaded the Manual on Canon website. Both have the same instructions. I searched the Forum and knowledge base, but found nothing. Is it possible that most of the users of this entry level point and never pull let the AUTO mode and therefore never asked for help on this?

  Canon technical support told me to reset the camera and if it does not have to return the unit to my charge for the service. It is a camera I've owned less than a week.

  UPDATE: I showed the camera to a friend of gadget freak. He simply presses the button arrow upward, waited until the iFrame this mode, shooting and then pressed the FUNC/SET button. This has brought up the menu shooting mode and I'm now able to select shooting modes that I want.

  Not only the wrong manual, but support tech of Cannon by email is apparently very limited in their ability to help. So far I'm not impressed with the support of Canon and would not recommend this product except for very basic users who don't want or need the advanced modes.

• PE of memory error with Canon SD1200 avi files

  I just got a Canon SD1200 camera and took some video. I was able to download the file video avi to Premiere Elements. However, when I tried to edit the files I got an error of memory low system and then PE crashed. I have 3 GB of RAM so I don't think it's memory.

  I wonder if it's a CODEC problem like the recent post on the Pentax Optio w60. It looks like I could buy the MJPEG CODEC from Mainconcept. Is this likely to solve the problem?

  Canon SD1200 is a photo and video from this camera probably uses the MJPEG AVI codec, which will probably not work with Premiere Elements.

  The solution is to convert the video to DV - AVI using Windows MovieMaker, as in the FAQ on the right of this forum.

  When I transfer photos from my camera Pentax K-30 to iPhoto on my Mac, transfer hangs after moving 3 or 4 pics max. Anyone know how I can stop what is happening or transfer the photos on my Mac another way?

  It has never worked? Has it happened with more than one card? It is possible that there is a problem with the card, or with the cable allows you to connect the camera to the computer, assuming that's what you do.

  If you attach the camera directly, consider using a card reader. I never have anything other than a card reader used to move images of my cameras (including a 30 K) to my computers, and it has always worked.

  Having recently loaded a CD Pentax Digital Camera Utility, which works very well, however removed maintenance system to remove programs.  Then tried loading it again, with a Runtime Error PTXUTL40. Exe. Declaring that this application has requested the execution to terminate in an unusual way. Tried several times with no joy.  However I can load on a small tablet separate from the main PC, please if possible help me with this problem.

  View. PEF (Pentax RAW format) files on Surface RT is very slow. It takes about 10-15 seconds to open a file (with the Photos (Metro UI) application files Explorer). It's all simply amazing. I don't really understand why it is so long.
  I don't think that the reason of this problem come from my SD card (SanDisk Extreme Pro UHS-1, 95 MB/s) or my USB cable.
  I tried to change the mode (MSC, PTP) USB on my DSLR (Pentax K-5), but the same problem.
  Is there a solution?

  If the question is limited to PEF File Format, then you may have to check the size of the images as. PEF files are image format of high resolution that may take more time to load compared to other image formats.

  I use the 'pixel shift resolution' (ESP) on a Pentax K70 and was very surprised by the gain of resolution reached in .jpg off-camera.

  Unfortunately it is not transfer the images developed in Lightroom. As you can see in the picture of 600% of cultures, the Lightroom developed images (all standard settings) show no differences between a classic RAW file and 4 FIRST-file larger ISP (all .dng). For a PSR-image RAW developed image shows an worse resolution and color of objects compared to the off-camera .jpg.

  Is there a solution for this?

  Also, I wasn't able to open (native RAW file format of Pentax) .pef files in Lightroom. Is - is this expected?

  If I am not mistaken the camera Pentax K70 is not yet supported for the. PEF by Lightroom RAW files.

  At least it is not in this list: supported by Camera Raw devices

  JPG and normal DNG files would work.

  However, not yet for the DNG using ISP mode.

  (I started this by looking at what made Lightroom supported for camera Pentax K3 - II which was also the mode of the PSR, the specific support of the PSR was added later)

  Support can come in the next minor LR version or in a suite. Depends on information being available to Pentax for Adobe.
