PERC H310 Mono Mini Non-RAID?

Hello guys,.

If anyone can confirm me a Perc H310 support (built-in) mono mini disc in Non RAID mode as noted above? (from http://www.dell.com/learn/us/en/04/campaigns/dell-raid-controllers#campaignTabs-1

PERC H310 Mono Mini 6 Gbps SAS PCI-Express 2.0 2 x 4 internal - - 0,1,5,10,50 16, not RAID 32 Hardware RAID

I don't understand why I can't convert the non-raid drive in the BIOS of the controller or the idrac interface. There is no menu to do it in the bios, and while the menu appear in the interface of the idrac when I try to apply, it is said that the operation is not supported.

Thx for the help.

Sorry, everyone I just found the solution, 'Default' and now my records are in non-raid mode.

I have 8 servers in my M1000e chassis.  They have all two drives 146 GB in Raid-1.  Just got in a boat load of 600GO drives gently used off PE R630 servers who are re-designed in a laboratory.

I would like to replace all the records with the largest, with minimal downtime and no data loss.

Advice? Tips? Advice?  Everything would be extremely appreciated before I mess up and make + 400 users very angry with me...

    Hello.

It is possible to perform this operation with minimal downtime. Ensure that you have a backup validates your data just to be safe. You can do this by deleting every old hard drive and replacing with 600 GB disk, one at a time. Let the new drive to rebuild completely before replacing the other. You can monitor the progress of the reconstruction in OpenManage Server Administrator (OMSA) if installed. Clear the foreign configuration if it appears on the disc, if the drive rebuilt and state LOAN ; assign as a Global hot spare.

You will notice that the total capacity of the virtual disk (VD) will not 600GO, because there will be unused space on the disks. You will use the property capacity expansion (OCE) online from your controller to claim unused space. In OMSA, GB storage-> PERC H310-> virtual disk-> available-> Reconfigure tasks-> capacity and continue. Under RAID level, select RAID 1 and enter 100 to recover any space unused on the disks and continue. See schematic illustration below:

  • Issue of PERC H310 Drive-Through.

The H310 (or any PERC card) continues to monitor the health of player even though the player is not part of a raid array. as a non-raid drive?

    Eend_Dylan,

Regardless of the configuration of the hard disk, raid or non-raid, the controller will always make the health of readers. So using OpenManage Server Administrator or OpenManage Essentials, you can see the health of disks as well.

Let me know if it helps.

  • Dell Perc H310 T420-compatible hard drives

    Hello experts,

I have a server T420 with 8 Bay running 2 SATA 3 "switchable hot 5 Dell hard drives.  The controller is a Perc H310.

I would like to know what kind of hard drives could be integrated into empty compartments. I would like to use non - Hot Swap as well to extend storage. Buy standard 3 "5 7200 RPM Sata Hard Drivies? Will it work?

Thanks in advance. Appreciate your attention.

    Concerning

    Afreire,

You can use enterprise class SATA disks up to 4 TB in the remaining locations. You will need to the carriers for the readers, even if they are non-RAID.   H310 controller supports the use of JBOD (just a bunch of disks) without having them in a RAID.   OpenManage them will see as non-RAID drives.

  • Mac Mini server RAID spoil

This follows a previous thread of mine.  Previously, the Mac mini server (2009, 3.1 I think) would not start.  The Apple logo and the spinning wheel seems forever.

I found the boot disk and a USB optical drive and so I went in disk utility.  I got the software RAID 1 set up.  Hard drives were fine, physically, but the whole RAID said it is "degraded" and one of the volumes said it failed.  I tried rebuilding it but failed.  I did not delete the volume down, instead, I deleted the whole RAID, thinking that I would be able to start the disks as standalone.  Instead, or volumes are mounted, they not only mount when I click Mount, and when I turn on the machine, I now get the folder with the?.  No volumes appear when I hold down the option key when starting.  I tried discs of fixation of the Terminal and he says they were mounted with success, but they were not.  I must be missing something in the commands, I don't know them well.  I tried to create a new RAID array, but he said that all the data would be deleted.  At any given time, two RAID volumes said that they failed, and then the RAID array would not appear or appear offline as opposed to gradient.

I screwed myself by removing the raid array?  Both drives are dismantled and their partition type is "Apple_RAID_Offline".

Can I fix this and back up my data?

I fixed readers are not mounted or named myself.  They are (were) mounted as an independent non-RAID drives.  They needed to be repaired and could not repair one of them says however, disk utility.  Disk utility also told me at my backup files and wipe the readers.  How can I back up my files if I can't start the machine?  There is no Finder on Mac OS X Server installation disc.

    Any suggestions?

  • PERC H310 H710p migration

    Hello

I'm not an expert in RAID configurations but I am in charge of server Dell T320 my company and we will replace the storage controller that comes with it (H310) with a PERC H710p. We have a configured RAID-1 and we will continue to use the two disks of same after migration. We will replace the controllers.

I know I have to do a backup before you replace the Exchange, but we will lose the RAID-1 configuration and data (including the operating system) after migration? Or it will be transparent to the system after reboot?

Where can I find a type of paper that could guide me through this process because I don't want to wreck anything.

Thanks a lot for your help.

    Jorge

    Hello.

It is advisable to back up your data before performing any maintenance task. Ensure that you have a backup is valid data. The PERC H710 P supports the migration of virtual disk controller PERC H310. As a best practice, make sure that the hard drives and firmware H710 P is up to date. Replace the H310 and update the H710 P firmware with the controller cables disconnected from the background. Stop the server and connect the cables of the controller in the background and then restart.

Your RAID configuration can be transparent to the system or appear in a foreign configuration. Clear the foreign configuration through the utility OpenManage Server Administrator (OMSA) or Ctrl + R for the POST.

I would like to know how it works for you.

  • R320 / Perc H310 / SATA 3.5 - want to use SSD

    Hello

    I recently bought a Dell taking r320.

Unfortunately, I realized that I would have probably gone to Perc H310, am looking to upgrade. I would also like to run with SSDS supported, even if it is in the format of disk 3.5 "caddy. Can someone help me determine what parts I need to buy for this specification. I don't mind move from SATA to SAS (no doubt, it's just a change of cable?).

    Thanks for your help.

Looking at your photos (which somehow only published this morning, but with a timestamp older than my response), you don't need to worry about wiring. Backplane SAS aura disks SAS or SATA, 2.5 "or 3.5" variety.

  • Convert a RAID non RAID?

I have a Dell computer with two 1 TB drives in a RAID array.  I would like to convert these disks in a regular table non-raid. How can I go about it?  In the BIOS, I see that the sata is configured for RAID, but I don't want change there without knowing what else this way.

Thank you both for the quick responses!  Thanks to a Dell support conversation, I broke the RAID1 array in two standalone players (control - I have started and then 'delete Raid Array' I can now see the second unit of disk in Windows, at startup, etc., but the Configuration of Windows disk utility does not create volumes.)  He says he has a "signature conflict."  Is there a way I can format this disk section?

  • Reference Dell PERC H310 drivers

I want to install a Windows Server 2008 operating system on a new PowerEdge R420 and I need to install the drivers for the PERC H310 controllers but I can't find the drivers as the only windows setup exe files or DUP which doesn't help since I always is not a running operating system.

Can someone please tell me where to find this driver or how to get around this problem?

    Thank you

You can use the switch/extract for the DUP or you can use the 'hard drive' version (ZPE).  Since you didn't say what version of 2008 you have been installing, I took the trouble to post all the:

  • Migrate PERC4 RAID 5 Dell PE800 to Dell T320 on Perc H310

    Hello

I had a server that has failed before we time to replace it.

The old server does not (no display may be motherboard failure). Can I insert the disc on the new server and try to import the disk raid configuration?

I know it will work the same PERC chip but PERC4 to PERC 310, I think that this will work?

No, you cannot import a configuration 4 PERC PERC 5 +. 4 PERC - is SCSI, 5 + is SAS PERC.

  • Addition of PERC H310 readers

I have a PowerEdge T320 with a PERC installed H310.  Currently, there are 4 physical disks with two virtual disks.  Both RAID-5.  One for the OS, one for the data.  I installed 4 new physical disks on the server I want to add to the virtual disk 'data '.  The drives are displayed as loans in OpenManage, but I understand that there must be an option to Reconfigure on the virtual disks.  I have not just as an option.  I was hoping that I could expand this virtual disk, while the server is online but now wonder if I can develop at all.  I'm not planning a failure even to try to boot in the BIOS to reconfigure.  Wanted to see if there was something missed me or something on my configuration/version which does not allow me to reconfigure the virtual disks.

So you have 4 disks in a TWO different RAID 5 VD on these 4 discs? If this is the case, you're stuck with it unless you do a backup/restore and remove and reconfigure sets. "Cutting" discs with different paintings cancels any option for expansion. Even if you could do a "reconfigure" by cutting, you would be expanded VD BOTH in the disk group - you could not add space to one of the slices.

I'm not so sure if you can still do it from the BIOS of a H310. you could with a H700 and especially with a minimum firmware, but I don't know whether or not the low end H310 has got this option. If this isn't the case, you must use OMSA.

As an alternative to a full reconfiguring/backup/restore. You should be able to save your data VD, then "Reconfigure" the VD develop to fill the disks, and THEN expand adding records or create new VD with the new drives. Of course, if it was decided in the first place because of the limit of 2 TB boot disks (not not using UEFI), then you need to rethink the whole scenario. What size are your discs?

  • How to change mini H730P RAID level

    Hello

I read H730P the user guide:

Who mentions the possibility of change of a virtual disk's RAID level, and adding capacity of a virtual disk. However, there are no instructions on how to do it. I looked through all the menus can be found in the BIOS RAID config, I cannot find anything to do with the change of RAID level. I also watched menu iDRAC for storage options.

Can someone point me in the right direction? Currently, I have two physical disks in SAS in a RAID1 and would add more than 3 drives to convert it to a RAID6 and increase capacity.

Install OpenManage Server Administrator, go to storage, PERC, virtual disks and select Reconfigure in drop-down list of tasks available for your table.

  • Need driver for PERC H310

    Hello dell and community!

I never thought that I need to contact the community to the problem. However, now the day has come. Before describing the problem, I must say that your hardware and software provided is very good and I'm happy to use your equipment.

I needed to install windows server 2003 x 86-based PowerEdge T420 (serial number: B4 * 2). I am well aware that this server is not designed for this operating system. Unfortunately, available only on a server and the decision of the tasks it involves the use of a dedicated server windows 2003 x 86 (used for the automation of industry), that is to say without virtualization.

    I found these instructions here:
    en.Community.Dell.com/.../3846.How-to-install-Windows-2003-on-Dell-12th-Generation-PowerEdge-Servers
I have done it. However, after the installation of windows server 2003 x 86 me when with the logo displays BSOD (0x0000007b, ATA SATA mode is selected in the BIOS). Third party connection LiveUSB showed that shocks, unfortunately, are not created, even if I choose an option by pressing F8 before starting the system.

I think that I stocked up on a bad driver for H310 flash drive, but there are doubts about this.

USB stick with the driver for the appeared H310 tool

NOTE from the ADMIN: Broken link has been removed / replaced this post by Dell >; l = en & s = gen & driverid = R140774

    The driver downloaded from here:
    www.avagotech.com/.../MegaRAID-SAS-9240-8i
The MegaRAID SAS - XP x 86 signed, Version 4.32.0.32 driver name (in fact, I tried several different drivers, but for me it did not help).

But, because of this doubt, if I choose to boot from a LiveUSB and point the driver like on a flash drive by utility Dell USB key F6 Driver utility, the sections are connected and well I can handle. LiveUSB, by the way, is based on Server 2003.

Help me please. Apparently there is no relevant information, many files are not available, I've read these instructions here:

What are the steps I take to performance windows server 2003?
Thank you in advance, your team is great!

First of all, I strongly suggest that you buy a server used on eBay or your local classifieds.

Second, I suggest you that allows you to integrate the driver of your installation instead of the USB/F6 function media puff nLiteOS.com. (Integrate SP2 if not already included while you're there - the drivers might need SP2.)

Are you sure that your "industry automation' may not work on a virtual platform? Many will work.
