Performance of managers
Hello
A question about the performance:
Is it better to use nested HFMs and VFMs to use custom managers?
What you normally use in your applications? You nest managers and use alignment to get the user interface looks like as you want or just use your own custom managers?
Personally, I like custom managers, but I don't know if it's the right way to code in terms of performance.
Thank you so much
Concerning
The answer (as would be expected) is: it depends.
Integrated managers are indeed well optimized. The problem is that they seem to be too optimized in some places. In addition, if you rely on them, you give up a checksum on your application. It can be very annoying trying to achieve this exact layout you are targeting if you use just VFMs and HFMs.
However, managers customized, giving you total control, shift all the weight of the responsibility for the work of the application on you. You need some excruciating attention to detail so that they work properly, smoothly and intuitive.
For example: If you use a HFM in your application, horizontal navigation causes shifts focus, while vertical jump to other handlers (if any). You can get the same result with your custom manager - but you need to know exactly what you're doing, so don't forget you want to achieve this in the first place!
It is extremely easy to screw up a custom Manager. However, you can create much more beautiful applications if you use them correctly. I work a lot with custom managers (the extent of dynamically loading XML page layout), but I always start with built-in ones and go to the custom layout after fully understand what I want to achieve.
Good luck!

Hi all
Not sure if she's wrong or reason, I searched, but he's always been a mystery to me corner.
My version r12 is 12.1.3 and db version is 11.2.0.3 and operating system is linux,
How do you control the memory in applications.
1.) how can I find the amount of RAM is used by Apache in my application? How to work the JVM and GC joes?
2.) how to find the amount of RAM is consumed by the application forms?
(3.) the amount of RAM is consumed by various officials under the CM? What impact will it make if I reduce or increase standard managers.
4.) my OPP is set to 2 G and how can I make sure it is not size more?
Please share a glimpse of this, or share a few docs I can go through.

Run the competitor program even in parallel
Hi Experts,
When the same program at the same time is requested (by R12) at the same time of different usernames, it seems that a user request is in the waiting/Eve session another user request to finish waiting, then it goes to the implementation of phase. How can I make sure that the two applications (same program concurrent with the different parameter input) running in parallel? The program does not have the incompatibility of himself
Thanks for your comments.Michelle wrote:

If the question with all PCs, then you should change/update the CM settings that deal with these requests (seconds of sleep, cache size, process... etc).

Shared memory on the Sparc Server running Oracle 10 G
Newbie: I can overscribe memory on a server that hosts multiple instances of Oracle? It seems normal to oversubscribe memory on multiple instances if Oracle assigns the maximum available memory on a server at the time of the request.
For example:
How Oracle manages memory if I have 16 GB of physical memory, run 4 instances of Oracle on my server and specify the max_sga than 8 GB in my/etc/project file? This configuration seems to oversubscribe memory twice, 32 GB memory requested on a server that has only 16 GB of physical memory.
Oracle manages memory differently if I have 16 GB of physical memory, run 4 instances of Oracle on my server and specify the max_sga like 16 Gb in my/etc/project file? This configuration seems to oversubscribe memory four times, 64 GB memory requested on a server that has only 16 GB of physical memory.
Thank you for your help.user12188192 wrote:

The TARGET_SGA_SIZE for all MORE the PGA_AGGREGATE_TARGET instances for all instances should be around 80-90% of the total RAM. You can then change the targets to let different instances have 'more' when they need while reducing others.
In this way, you can manage the memory and avoid swapping, because when it comes to performance (and managers yell at you for low performance) swap is not a good thing.
Note that this is possible on the machines and operating systems that support the DISM and enabled/configured. Which is discussed in the manuals of Solaris.
But in the ideal, a machine will have only one instance of database and several instance of database requirements will be consolidated as much as possible. (Although he explain literally hundreds sof reasons do not consolidate - several policies rather than technical.)

Foglight - Manager of managers or more specialized?
Good afternoon
We're just is getting ready to implement Foglight and I had questions regarding if mainly on door Foglight monitoring the performance or if Foglight is considered what the industry calls a 'Manager of managers' and so far I have not been able to find a clear answer on this. We would however get to a window unique globally within our area of surveillance. Most of the packages followed are more specialized packages.
That being said, Foglight envisages not only a pack, but also a 'Manager of managers' monitoring of the performance or Foglight is a more specialized tool for the end user experience and performance within our area of surveillance monitoring? If in fact it is considered to be a "Manager of managers", anyone integrates Foglight for products such as...
IBM Netcool Omnibus
SolarWinds
Access
And much more...
Y at - it support for these tools and Foglight connectors? I see that Quest has partnered with Netcool/Omnibus in the past...
http://www.quest.com/newsroom/news-releases-show.aspx?ContentId=378
I guess that this partnership has been advanced due to the fact that each specialize in your own areas supervisory? We have two Omnibus and now Foglight.
How Quest sees the role of these products such as Netcool/Omnibus and Foglight?
With online research them I found it seems that in most cases that both products are integrated with one another more so to replace another.
Which would be a correct statement?
If Foglight is not considered a 'Manager of managers', quest has a specific product that's who would incorporate such packages as Foglight and Netcool/Omnibus?
In this search on the web site of search I found a product called Operations Manager who seemed to do this thing though, it may be that Foglight can do that as well.
I hope that some of you in the community can comment on that.
Thank you!

Concurrent managers in a Non - CFP RAC environment
Hi gurus,
If one of the RAC instance that performs most of the managers fails in the RAC (Non - PNP) environment, what happens to managers and applications?
How to ensure failover in this case?
Is it possible to start all managers and applications on the other node of RAC instance without manual intervention?
Thanks in advance.

What might explain the difference in performance for .exe and .app files?
So I have a projector MAC of my file on my mac laptop and it runs great, the animations fluid and play FLV... I have exactly the same file of projector that runs fine on windows desktop computers, but on the computer it chuggs windows laptop and stutters. No idea why?
The laptop has Flash player 10, and the activity monitor uses only 26% of its memory resources. Any other ideas why it would work on a portable MAC but not on a windows?
Thanks for your help,

If it is an application, foot, update of Flash so that you can export to Flash 11.4. When you use applications always export to the most recent flash and runtime player.
You need to explain a bit about your project in order to obtain advice on how to optimize it. Without knowing what your project is done in detailed ways, it is as good as a mechanic trying to fix your car without seeing, on the phone. He can say that you need to change your oil every 5000 and battery every 5 years, but it's about under the generic name I can get.
The Office has a plethora of RAM and CPU available, so these are more generic advice:
- Do not make "too" at the same time. What you do greatly defines "too".
- Use of assets (graphics, videos,...) which are in size and compressed properly so that the Flash Player doesn't have to change anything, unless necessary.
- Activate cacheAsBitmap on all the objects on the screen which do not rotate, scale or modify alpha often. Elements of the interface, the logos and the controls are always targets.
- Bitmaps are much faster than the vectors pixelation from image to image. If you prefer to use a large number of vectors, for those who don't rotate, scale or modify alpha, embed them in a MovieClip and check cacheAsBitmap. The vector will be a little soft, but it will make at the speed of the bitmap image.
- Transparency by excessive boundary layer. Some people make a single image the size of the stage as a 'framework' with the transparent punched Center. Things like this cost, as each unique image rendering engine transparency must be in the calculations.
- Dear event managers limit like ENTER_FRAME. Replace them with timers or anything that's not seek enforcement of generally useless code every single frame.
- Limit or omit entirely masking the extent possible, because it is very expensive.
- Sometimes setting any MovieClips wants 1-framework layered graphic export for actionscript while definition of the base class for flash.display.Sprite can give a bump in this performance of clips.
- Make sure that you set GPU for your target public hardware acceleration, or Direct if you use Stage3D.
- Use as much as possible of Stage3D where it makes sense.
- Use StageVideo and MP4/H264s for videos if possible.
I can go on and on, but you get the general idea. Limit limit limit and use best practices for optimizations. I need to know more about the nature of your animations and how much is happening at the same time give any useful information targeted.

Library swf with does not perform the actions
I have an actionScript animation film simple (using Greensock TweenMax) after export works fine when I open the .swf file obtained on its own (double click on my Mac finder). My film has 2 frames, frame 1 sets up the interpolation on the object function in my film, frame 2 performs the function and stops. As I said, if I open the exported .swf file or preview in a html browser, I see the desired animation effect.
However, when I include the swf exported in another project file (using import to library) and drop it in my main script - I don't get the animation that I see in my standalone swf file. I tried to call the file directly to play and notheing happens. When I opened this symbol of swf (double clicking) after putting on the main timeline, I see 2 managers, but only in the original file symbiols graphics are in these frameworks (no action).
I test the same goal using an exported swf of a film by the animation timeline (classic Tween), and it worked fine).
What Miss me? Is it possible to take advantage of a file to swf actionscript animation in other films? I want to do so that I can create a bunch of stand alone animations I load in dynamically and play without chronology animate each one. Any help GREATLY appreciated, thank you very much!
Yes, if it's an AS3 file you can use the Loader class.
If you want the movie to be physically in the other alternative file would be to copy the script of the film to a movieclip in the other file.

Font managers of the RAM and fonts
Hi all
I feel that the ability to enable and disable individual fonts using font (font book or third party) management software is designed to eliminate RAM memory (or at least somehow the unloading of the treatment of the Mac).
I also believe I read that he mentioned somewhere that all fonts placed in the user/Library/Fonts location are always active in the RAM, and this is perhaps why it is important to not just throw hundreds of fonts in this folder.
I wonder:
-If above are true?
-If you use third-party font management software to disable a font placed in the folder User/Library/Fonts eliminates actually he RAM memory (as is probably for policies outside the system of appointed police records)?
-If none of this is true, then why even should we use font management software to disable or deactivate fonts - why not just let them all turned on if they are not in the RAM?
I want to make sure that I fully understand. I hope that this will help me make more informed decisions about my workflow of font management.
I'm under El Capitan 10.11.6, although I don't think that this specificity is relevant.
Thanks for the informed answers!
I don't think you are quite correct, I hope someone will correct me if I'm wrong but here is my assessment of the situation...
All installed or active policies are not loaded in RAM at startup because it would be than a useless on memory limited to Macs. System fonts will be loaded into memory as they are usually required.
I believe that certain police functions get cached, such as previews of the fonts that are used in some applications, these selection committees are often written cache files stored on the drive that I can tell.
Installation and activation of the thousands of fonts may cause some problems as apps may need to generate previews of these fonts - for example MS Word has its own custom selector of fonts that use the real font for names selection. Some design apps can analyze or search fonts when opening certain documents with the related font styles. Other applications such as TextEdit, Mail system use based Gatherer so that they benefit the plan puts large fonts in cache.
The reason of FontBook is to assist in the management of fonts. OS X uses the 'library' system to allow multiple levels of abstraction, by example/System/Library is for OS-level files (stuff own apples), / library of the third parties who rely on the scale of the support system, ~/Library for user specific files. There is even in charge of resources to be stored in/Network/Library for use with a server on a WAN.
Manage all this complex without a central application. In my view, that order preference is the user on the highest levels, so your own user fonts folder is selected on the system if you named the same way fonts. Part of the idea is also that you can export fonts in your own home library without affecting the other users of the system.
Third parties also have police managers this attempt to 'do the right thing' based on what documents and applications you use. These are for most major design offices that use custom fonts or is needed to deal with versions of specific fonts, variations and even if the fonts are licenses for specific customers etc.. Fonts dynamically loading & unloading can cause headaches depending on what software you use.
I do not think that average users need to think about fonts on OS X (beyond adding their favorites occasionally), you may be overthinking it unless you're in lots of design work.
If you are concerned about running out of RAM, you probably need to install more, get a better Mac or run applications less. Just keep in mind what OS X tent now to use all the RAM available most of the time if not what is the point of installing it?

I've just updated to the latest version of Sierra. I thought I had read somewhere that SMB was preferred over the AFP in Sierra and that performance would improve. I don't see any improvement. My results are so radically different, I thought that I post to see if anyone can tell me why my performance SMB is so catastrophic?
I have a Mac Pro (non-cylindre) on a home network wired gigabit. Synology DS412 + NAS running 4 disks in RAID 5. I mounted it my my Mac using the basic option "Connect to Server" in the Finder and typing "afp://server:share" and "smb://server:share" for testing. Both were mounted and tested separately, which means I am disconnected from the AFP before Assembly and test SMB. I used rsync with some verbose options to copy a 1.5 GB file in order to see the speed and get a transfer of the statistics.
Here are the stats to transfer the file to AFP:

I think it's a pretty decent speed, but my concern is not the top speed, is the disparity.
Here is the SMB speed:

In addition, attached is a screenshot of my share of the Synology settings. It shows the parameters of the SMB and AFP. The pop-out box is the options 'Advanced settings' of the SMB section.
Any ideas at all? Please and thank you.
It seems that Apple still did not set their "quick and dirty" dose for such Badlock described in this thread: El Capitan 10.11.5 update slow SMB (bug)
If you believe that your network is protected from man-in-the-middle attacks and the bug Badlock, then you can disable the client for signature.
- Create a nsmb.conf file in / etc with vim. sudo will be necessary.
- Write to the file:
[default]
signing_required = no
Then restart your machine. Your SMB3 speeds should be comparable to the AFP again.

MacBook Pro 15 "end 2013 too slow performance
Hello world
My macbook pro 15 "end 2013 me294, Core i7 haswell 2.3 Ghz, 16 GB Ram, SSD PCI 256 GB, GT 750 m & Iris Pro.
Geek of multicore benchmarks is too less to another macbook even type (me 294).

This is another of the same type (me 294): multi-core on 12000 landmarks
I reboot before benchmarks, I don't know why?
GeekBench is a crude tool that is useful for computers compare configured identically. Means "Identically configured" quite the same hardware running identically configured systems with identical changes, as appropriate.
As says Geekbench works best when it is the only application running. Comparing the performance of your Mac to others requires the abandonment of all other open applications in addition to process who can have no user interface.
To identify the processes that are running on your Mac in order to see how they affect the activity and performance of your Mac, use the activity monitor: use the activity monitor to your Mac - Apple Support.

Reinstall 10.7.5 to help performance
Late 2009 iMac 10.6.1 when new, now running 10.7.5 with 8 GB of memory and 2 TB of disk running
My Mac worked slowly for a while. Check memory, CPU etc. in the activity monitor shows no reason for this.
I want to reinstall the OS X 10.7.5 menu utilities in OS X, but I have no USB or disk with 10.7 on it.
Given a stage to try and BONE cleaning is to wipe the drive, then I suppose I'll have 10.7 on some media.
I believe that the steps would be:
1. all save, deauthorise apps
2 restart the Mac in recovery mode
3 erase/format the disc extended journaled format
4 reinstall OS X
Who would bring back me to 10.6.1 that came with the Mac, so I have to upgrade to 10.6.8 then 10.7 as soon as I got it on a media, and then work my back to 10.7.5
So, how I 10.7 or y at - it an easier way to get my Mac running as it was when new?
Thank you.
Frank.
With 8 GB of memory and a HD 2 to (assuming that it has enough free space available on it) and your Mac must perform well. Mac in general do not need 'clean up', but they have a third-party software installed that can cause performance problems. Before you go to the backup, erase, re - install, upgrade to Lion road you can download and run EtreCheck and post the contents of his report here. Can anyone identify if there is a probable cause of software to your problem:

My email has been hacked and used to send Spam. I have to perform a virus check, or simply change the password?
Do not install or run an anti virus app.
How do you know that your email has been "hacked"? It is a common practice for spammers to forge an envoy from the e-mail address. It may be that your email address has been misused. There's nothing to do if this is the case for you. The spammer will soon pass and usurp another email address.
It's a good idea to immediately change your password by email if someone would actually managed to access your e-mail account.
