Performance of the GPU

I have a laptop HP ENVY 15 (k046nd) with the following specifications:

-Intel i7-4510U (2.0 Ghz)
-12 GB of ram
-Nvidia GeForce GTX 850M 4 GB
-8.1 Windows 64 bit

I'm not a hard gamer, but I play League of Legends. My laptop is a relatively new and with the specifications described above should probably get 60 + FPS when playing League of Legends. In fact, I was getting about 90-100 FPS at Max settings (FULL HD), but after 1 month of use the FPS fell to close to 40-50. Of course, which has not changed my gaming experience, but it has raised concerns about what really happened. I tried searching for the windows settings and affecting all the settings to high performance, but nothing has changed.
I don't know where to focus my attention on GPU problem or another portable computer problem in which my GPU do not work properly.
Do you think that somehow a program or application is Underclocks don't my GPU?

Any answer would be useful,
See you soon

* I play with my laptop connected to food and of course not with the integrated graphic card

Hello @iko21,.

Welcome to the forums, lets see what we can do to your concern for video.

Off I want to thank you for provide the large amount of information, it is a great help.

One thing I have to say right now, is that it is a laptop.  He will play matches but that being said, the games requires power.  The power required to follow the game at a constant level tends to produce allot of heat.  One thing you might want is to help with cooling first on your laptop.

Then we can consider try a restore of the system back at the time you noticed your system slowing down gradually.  There may be an update that caused a change in configuration.

Here are a few links to help you with that.

Using Microsoft System Restore (Windows 7)

Using Microsoft System Restore (Windows 8)

Over time your laptop will collect all kinds of unpleasant dust and so on. This will not help the heat.  Here is a link to help you keep your laptop cool.

HP Notebook PC - reduce the heat inside the PC to avoid overheating

So, you can remove and then reinstall the drivers for your video.  Here is the link to the support page for your laptop.

If you find a problem with the system after all this, here are some links for material tests.

Screening of hardware failures (Windows 7, Vista)

I hope this will help you.  If please post back and let me know

Thanks again for posting and have a great day.

    Hello!

I improve my system for best performance and I have a few questions about the GPU (graphics card unit).

I bought an ASUS GTX760-DC2OC-2GD5 but may request to change for ASUS GTX770-DC2OC-2GD5 for more or less 50 euros more. If I leave the ASUS GTX770-DC2OC-2GD5 I also need to upgrade the PSU (Power supply unit) once it's more power demanding.

In addition, the ASUS GTX770-DC2OC-2GD5 is the list of approved first adobe graphics cards while the is not ASUS GTX760-DC2OC-2GD5.

    My questions are:

    (1) how does the GPU does affect the editing process and the export process?

    (2) I noticed a big difference between the ASUS GTX760-DC2OC-2GD5 and the ASUS GTX770-DC2OC-2GD5?

  • Performance is worse with the GPU acceleration that without

I have a Windows 7 system fast, i7 980 X processor with a monitor @ 2560 x 1440 pixels. As a photographer, I'm processing of thousands of photos and my PC can not be fast enough, so I thought that I invest a little in a new graphics card. OK, I have not bought a Quadro, but with GTX 970 from Nvidia, I always feel a modern, fast, with a value of more than $ 400 map.

My first experiences after the installation of the new graphics card are more then disappointing - a lot is worse, running without any GPU acceleration. Before, I could scroll an image to the image almost no imperceptible lag. With the GPU acceleration turned on, each image must be "rendered" first first you get a blurry picture of Pexelated / of complitely and flackers of color shortly, then after a while, it becomes more clear. So it seems that with GPU acceleration turned on, Lightroom 6 completely ignores the preview images pre-rendered - FACT IT MAKE any SENSE WHAT? Yes, all the sliders mode develop work faster, but the preview shown instantly image is a false low resolution and it always takes time for an image high resolution to display - as much time, as it should, making it with a CPU.

For me, it would make sense that next image will be loaded into GPU memory by actually DURATION and rendering the previous image would be preserved in memory as well. Also miss me some detail for the GPU acceleration settings - if it remains at the current level, rudimentary, (for me) the best compromise would be to disable the GPU acceleration to scroll through the photos, but using just to develop sliders.

I would want guus at Adobe to improve the product real, not just marketing slogans on the improvement of performance!

    kirillxxx wrote:

. My suggestion is simple enough - if the guys at Adobe can not program properly, the easiest would be (to make an option) to disable the GPU acceleration for image swithiching and just take his profit for the developer sliders.

You can not simply switch off to change the image. The image * should be loaded into the GPU, which is where the delay comes from. Even though you might think about what would happen: of course the image would change quickly, but then you would still wait before you can deal with.

For now the acceleration GPU in LR is very it is childhood: things first generation, and we are all good enough beta testers.

Some people are lucky: they love him and have no problem.

Some people are out of luck: it causes nothing but problems.

Some people like me are sitting on the fence: we have mixed experiences.

I don't think you threw $400, at some point (I live in optimism) questions will be fixed and LR will work on your system. He just had to wait. Isn't is funny, but you only need to take a casual look at any photography forum to see that there are problems with GPU acceleration and now is not the time to buy the latest and greatest card.

I've personally held off buying a new card to replace my aging one until I see that there is zero chance of all the problems of proof.

  • Accelerated by the GPU performance

    Hello

Following the recent posts about the GPU,

Only certified GPU Adobe will work with Mercury Playback Engine for better performance?

Or the certified list is just a list of GPUS that are guaranteed to work, but a few other GPU appear do not perhaps also work?

    I am considering a system with an NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 670MX - 3.0 GB DDR5 (Unrated)

It will work to speed up performance when editing with the first?

    or should I spend some more money (£100) to get one of the cerfief ones? (AMD Radeon® HD 7970M - 2 GB DDR5 / / / NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 675MX - 4.0 GB DDR5)

    Thank you.

    PS:

    My laptop system:

    Intel® Core™ i7 Quad Core Mobile Processor i7-3840QM (2.80 GHz) 8 MB

    32 GB SAMSUNG 1600 MHz SODIMM DDR3 MEMORY (4 x 8 GB) (May 16, so 32 is an overdose)

    SSD boot drive

The MX 670 will do just fine. No sense in overspending on the 675 and forget AMD for the moment. It can be supported, but he still has problems with the driver and performance seems to be less nVidia cards.

If you go to the Référence PPBM5 and select portable computer Type, you will see a wide range of video cards, which is perfectly fine with CS5, CS5.5 CS6. With the new version of the CC, there are even more choices.

  • P6-2285eo: the GPU upgrade in my office of p6-2285eo friends

Hello.  My friend has a p6-2285eo office. It works fine and everything. However, he would like to improve its gpu, as GT 640 is detrimental to its performance in the games.  That's why I sold him my old R9 280 X (model XFX). And I got a new power supply, an Antec 700w (80 more bronze certified).  But for some reason his mother (Hp Pavilion 670960-001) does not work with the new gpu. Everything but the gpu lights.

You have any ideas on what is wrong?

    -Sumsar

    Hello

The R9 AMD 280 X is a card active UEFI. Windows 7 will generally not run in UEFI mode unless you take special measures during installation and also if the BIOS has a compatibility support module (CSM), which will allow Windows 7 be supported as one 'other' OS type so that UEFI can be activated for the installation of W7. This is not a simple process.

I suggest that you try a NVIDIA GTX 660.

  • Temperature of the GPU on Satellite P100-102

Does anyone know the values of normal temperature for the GPU from NVIDIA 7600 Go series? After replacing the motherboard by the service, the GPU reached 82 degrees Celsius (180 deg F) (without executing 3d application) and only the main cooler blows. Under 3D performance he attained values around 100 degrees Celsius.
The values were obtained with the Everest program!

    Thank you
    Jan

    Hello

Have you noticed the same temperature before replacing the motherboard?
AFAIK the P100 supports a clean cooler graphics card.
Two heat sinks are placed on the map: one for the CPU and a GPU.

It seems that the GPU heatsink does not work. Why? Maybe the technician didn't properly connect I n don't know
But try to contact the service guys again I think they should check again before the GPU goes dead

  • Satellite L500 - the GPU temperature high all in game

    Hi all

I use a laptop L500 with the following:

    Windows Vista 64 - bit SP2
    Intel Core 2 Duo @2.1 GHz T6500
    4 GB OF RAM
ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4500 Series.

I followed my GPU temperature while performing a new game with the GPU - Z utility.

As soon as I start the game the temperature rises of 65-70 ° C to 90-100 + C in 10 miutes. There seems to be a link between temp and performance, so when my temp fires the game fps drops dramatically. Whenever I alt tab the drops back to normal within a few minutes.

My question is wheather this high temperature is ok or he says something of a cooling problem? If I have to clean my laptop I would expect a notable difference (never cleaned - was used for 18 months)? I read somewhere that updating my BIOS since v1.4 could possibly help, it's true and it's worth the risk?

Any help and suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you very much

    Hi Mirari,

    > If I clean up my laptop I would expect a notable difference (never cleaned - was used for 18 months)?
Oh yes, you will have noticed a big difference if you use already for 18 months now and never clean it before. Normally, the laptop must be cleaned every 3-4 months and after this time and cleaning you will notice a difference that laptop will run much cooler again, but I have to say that I use my laptop every day.

It of not difficult to clean the cooling system because you don t have to disassemble the laptop. All you need is a stream of air compressed to blow the dust from the cooling fans, as described here:

  • Can I put the GPU or CPU on my HP G6?

    Hello!

    I'm running on 64 bit of Windows 8 and I have a HP Pavilion 2345sf g6.

And I saw that my laptop has an AMD RADEON HD 7670 M GPUS and AMD RADEON 7640 G (this is built into the motherboard) and a CPU AMD A8 - 4500M

and I want to upgrade the gpu because of lack of performance when I play video games.

So I want to know if it is expandable and if this is the case, how can I change the GPU and if it could be replaced by another one much better.

In a Word, sorry; No dice. The CPU maybe but not the GPU. You could get slightly better game with a faster processor performance, but also probably not sufficient to justify the substantial efforts and expenses. The best course of action is to sell your laptop and buy one with the video power you need. It may seem expensive to do, but it is almost always less expensive in the long term.

  • Pavilion n201ax: upgrading the GPU, the CPU and the RAM of my laptop n201ax

Maybe it's a very long post, but please answer because I really need answers to each of these questions and I really want to upgrade my laptop to the best configuration, if I CAN.

Let me make this clear first.

    * In the next contained the words 'this portable' always refers to Hp Pavilion 15-n201ax *.
Good then everything first I read somewhere that the maximum Ram of this laptop can be expanded up to 16 GB, but i came up with this link here-

    http://h30434.www3.HP.com/T5/hardware-upgrades-replacements/I-would-like-to-upgrade-memory-of-my-lap...

And then I came to know that it can only be upgraded to 12 GB page chapter 1 Description this Guide - #2

    http://h10032.www1.HP.com/CTG/manual/c04438537.PDF

First of all I would like to ask, is that,

    1. can I buy a RAM of any brand but the same 1600 mhz clock speed ofc IE?, then can I go to the GSkill 1600 Mhz DDR3 4 GB of ram?

    2. the size matter for respective locations? or I can install the 8 GB and 4 GB of ram in any other slots?

So this was all about the RAM

But I need to know if I can change the discrete GPU and the APU of this laptop

3 and if yes - which are compatible mobile GPU that I can install by removing the previous one ie AMD 8600 M (for example graphics R9, R7 and R5 for laptop)

4 and who are the compatible APU I can install by removing the APU previous IE AMD APU A10 - 4655 M (for example the AMD FX APU for laptops)

    5. If I can upgrade the GPU and APU both please tell makes compatibility issues? as only a specific GPU can work with a specific APU IE as in this laptop AMD APU A10 - 4655M + AMD 8600 M GPU.

    Please help me, please.

    Thanks in advance.

    Pavilion 15-n201ax?

We may need to refer to the owner's manual here:

    Your repair manuals

Officially, it supports only 12 concerts. Your model has a single module of 8 GB if you have an open slot. Unofficially, users here can have reported that add another 8 GB for a total of 16 concerts will work fine. It's something you take the risk of making but it is not official.

The part numbers for the appropriate memory are listed on page 42. You must DDR3L-1600 SO-DIMM.

If you want to go formal, the 4 GB module is: 691740-001

    Is this on amazon.com:

    http://www.Amazon.com/HP-691740-001-1600MHz-PC3L-12800-memory/DP/B00CI08FX4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&QID=1437948185&SR=8-1&keywords=691740-001

You just leave the concert 8 where it is and add the new memory into the open slot.

On your laptop model, the GPU/APU is soldered to the motherboard. In order to make any upgrade, you will need to buy a new motherboard. You have an idea together wrong GPU/APU can be removed and replaced and this is incorrect. The term APU refers to a processor that has integrated video, so the whole issue on the compatibility between the GPU and APU just missing the mark. On some systems, the GPU/APU is socketed and can be replaced which is used to replace/upgrade the processor and the video function but as stated above, on your this involves pulling and replacing the entire motherboard.

    There is available a little better/graphics processor using AMD A10 - 5745M 8670 M (2.9 GHz/2.1 GHz, 2 GB L2, 1333 MHz DDR3L Quad 25W) for use with Standard Windows. The part of the motherboard is 734824-501

HP does not store the Council, but I found this line:

    http://www.discounteddealz.com/product.asp?Itemid=327740&gclid=CO78y6rn-cYCFQmCaQodOP0GLQ

Never heard of this seller and can not be a guarantor, but the price is very reasonable for this Council. I was expecting to be a little more makes me wonder about this seller a little. I would advise to keep what you have. He is very strong for AMD and the upgrade to the Commission on the A10-5745 will result in only a very small increase in performance to a very high cost in money and efforts.
