Performance of WLAN

Hi team,

Could be it some please let me know if there's a tool that could be used to put a WLAN under stress to identify its breaking point?

More precisely in

H REAP APs and impact on the switch to the North, the performance of the router and the use of the WAN link.

Asking 20-30 people nailing the WLAN with their laptops is another option, but it is not possible at this stage

Thanks in advance.

see you soon,

Andrée

Well... There are tools like SolarWinds tools 'Hammer', with the network, but it's not free.  If you have a condition of flow, you can always download large video via ftp, etc. with multiple devices and see when it starts to affect your throughput needs.  I had 4 great video devices of 4 GB and it took more than 30 minutes on a 1252AP.  It was in the requirements of the customer and that was very good.  A deivce adding more to the wireless failed the fitness test.  You can probably find tools out there, but not for free.  There are also hardware devices to test the flow, but they are not cheap.  Look at how you are with AP and the switchport oversubscription.  I think that you will have poor performance, before you can break.

    Hello

I have a Satellite M50D - A - 10 K and problems with the wireless. With the internal antenna, I have a speed of only 100 KB. If I turn off the internal wireless and a wireless stick, I use 5 MB.

How is it that the internal wireless is so slow and how can I solve this problem?

    I currently use Windows 8.1.

    Thank you very much.

You use a USB wireless mouse, or other wireless device?
If so, I think that there could be interference that may affect the performance of WLan.

You could also try changing the channel WiFi (1-11) because each channel uses a different frequency.

    Thanks in advance

I guess that the laptop disconnects using battery operation.
I think you need to disable for the WLan to save energy.
This is possible in the Windows 7 power management.

Should do, and in addition, you can check the settings in-WLan card-> properties > Device Manager.
There is an Advanced tab that contains a few options that could improve the performance of Wlan.

    I just bought a Satellite Pro M50.
I can connect to the router using Congfigfree OK, but after 10 minutes or if she loses IP etc.
Have refresh the wireless connection to reconnect.
This continues every 10 minutes approximately.

    Hello

Thanks for the information updated and nice that it works.
As far as I know, this option is enabled in power safe during work only with batteries.
But for better performance of Wlan this sure option should be disabled.

  • Slow WLAN on my satellite notebook

My wired desktop is fine, but when it connects to the internet over the wireless, my computer satellite phone is really slow! I've updated the WLAN drivers and it seemed to help, but I'm back to square one with the speed! Any help would be appreciated.

I had no problem like this before and the wireless internet has been slow for about a week now, but since the upgrade of drivers, it was Transiently faster. Do I have to update all the other drivers?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

Usually an other updates are not necessary. I recommend you first check the advanced settings in the WLan card properties.

You can access the properties in Device Manager-> network-> (right click, properties) WLan card controller.
The Advanced tab offers different options that could help to achieve better performance of WLan.

  • Yet WT8 - WiFi signal reception problem

    Hello
I hope someone could help me!

I bought a Tablet still 8 a few weeks ago and just after the first start, I found a problem in the reception of the wireless signal.

When she acquires the signal, there's always between 1 or 2 marks in the indication of wireless in Windows 8.
I tried initially change the card wifi settings (which is disabling the power saving mode) but without any improvement.

I compared the tablet with another identical of my colleague and in the same position as his Tablet acquired the signal with no problems, then the mine has not signal.

So I decided to sent the tablet in support, but they have not found any problem.
They performed a restore of the system and then sent to me.

When I restarted, I found the same problem as before.

I have already installed the latest available Council broadcom driver, available here on the website, but also this way nothing has changed.

Y at - it a driver update or the setting that I can do to fix this?
    or it's a HW question?

    Thank you for your help

    Hello

Check if the WLan option in windows power management (using Central) has been defined in the performance.

You should also go to Device Manager-> card WLan-> properties-> Advanced tab
Here you will find a few options that could improve the performance of Wlan.

  • Major issues with Satellite S70 - t wireless has

    Hello

After some tests, I came to the conclusion that it is either something wrong with the wireless adapter, or on the other hand is not compatible with my router. I had questions everytime I open the laptop and connect to the internet, where my reasoning.

I've updated the drivers for the wireless adapter, but it did not help.
    I am running a router Netcomm NB9wmaxxn.

I hope that it will be able to be resolved quickly.
    Thank you.

In my opinion you issue needs further investigation.
It isn't quite clear, if the Wlan problem is related to the network card wireless Wlan driver, Wlan router or maybe the combination of the Wlan router and module Wlan.

In my opinion, you should check if the same thing happens to connect the phone to another access point.
You should check the laptop with or without the power adapter connected.
Energy savings can affect the performance of Wlan.

You should check if the problem could be related to the intensity of the signal.
You should test the connection network wifi secure Wla also open Wifi (unsecured).

    Check also different standards of WLan 802.11 A B G N
Of course, this test depends on the Wlan module. In the case of the wifi card does not support the 802. 11A, you will not be able to verify this.

  • Toshiba/Intel customer Wireless or broadband providers?

Since registration for services to wide band BT, I now have 2 or 3 Wireless clients attempting to access my wireless network.

So I was wondering which one would be better performance and should I remove other competing for resources?

I have a Toshiba Tecra M5 with a client Wireless 3945ABG Intel Pro, also a client of pro5.5 Cisco/Pure Networks Network Magic and now BT (British Telecom) also provide a wireless client with their broadband product!

    Hello

Usually different clients should not affect the performance of WLan.
You have customers just that for a configuration

The customer Intel is ok I m using too

And notes; never change a running system ;) I mean why switch to other customers if you use runs correctly.

  • L50A satellite - Internet stops frequently answer until I restart the pc

    Hello

I had a problem of delay where internet seems to stop working.

The details of the network connection to the bottom near the clock in the taskbar still say connected her with access to internet, but it does not.

I have another older laptop that uses the same wifi network, and its internet access still works when this laptop stops. It seems to start working again after restarting the PC.

Even on a start fresh, the internet will not work until I did a reboot.
    This corresponds to every start.

Once it works, it will work for a little while, until it stops again - usually coinciding with the end of the hour.

    Any thoughts?

    Hello

Just a question: you're talking about a LAN or WLan connection?
The same problem of internet connection is displayed using two connections: WiFi and LAN?

In case the problem appears only using WLan, I would recommend simply workarounds:
    (1) update the WLan driver
This is essential. In many cases, old and not updated the driver may cause different problems for different WLan routers/modems.

    (2) check the open home WiFi with WiFi (non-secure) connection. In many cases of different standards of encryption (WEP, WPA, WPA2, etc) could create problems between the laptop (card WLan) and WLan router due to compatibility issues. But beware: the unsecured WiFi should be used only for testing purposes.

    (3) Last but not least, check if power save settings would affect the performance of WLan. In Device Manager-> card WLan-> properties-> tab power management, ensure that the option isn't checked (should be unchecked)

I hope this helps to find the problem

In terms of information, the computer is running windows 7. Wireless network card is Atheros AR9002WB-1NG.

If theres any other information that you need, as im sure there will be, I would like to know and ill try my best.

    The router is really new.

    > the computer is 2 months old, the Wlan driver is up-to-date. power options have been configured to be on maximum performance for Wlan etc etc.

The latest Wlan drivers can be found here:
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/WLAN/?page=downloads

Please keep in mind that you use the latest driver v9.2.0.419.0

To be honest, I had the same idea to disable the power save for Wlan and it more often it should work are you sure that you have changed this in the same power station that is used when the laptop is running on battery power?

However, it would be interesting to know if the Satellite L750 uses the same Wlan 802.11 standard, as do other portable
In the Device Manager-> properties-> Advanced tab Wlan card, you can choose the standard Wlan 802.11
    Recommend to check this

  • Satellite L50D-B-146 - wireless network adapter drops the Wi - Fi connection

    Hi all

I have a problem with the wireless (Broadcom adapter) card, it randomly falls free wifi for no apparent reason (I disabled the modules breast win 7 energy saving etc).

Running the diagnostics of material in the latest Toshiba/Broadcom driver package has given everything going on with the exception of the SPROM checksum failure.

Is this a sign of faulty hardware? is it possible to reflash the SPROM with the correct data?

Thanks a lot for all helo,.

    Cooktop

    > Is this a sign of faulty hardware? is it possible to reflash the SPROM with the correct data?
I think you're on the wrong track
If the wireless network adapter is listed and recognized correctly in Device Manager, then the WLan driver has been installed correctly.

The sporadic WLan disconnection problems could be related to different reasons that are:
    WLan router compatibility problem
Configuration of the router (kind of encryption WPA WPA2, TKIP, AES)
    WiFi signal strength

I recommend you to reset the Wlan router.
Then you test the performance of Wlan using unsecured wireless (of course only for testing purposes)
Then test the different encryption settings.
Also test the laptop with or without the power adapter connected.

  • Satellite A660-17 t - wireless capability is turned off

Hi, I hope someone can help.

I bought my laptop in February last as something "Toshiba reconditioned. The problem is that often when I use the laptop I suddenly lose the internet connection and troubleshooting knowledge than the 'wireless capability is turned off"even if I don't touch or whatever it is pressed. This happens randomly and not all the time I use the machine.

There is a wireless switch between the keyboard and screen, but which has no effect. The function keys don't seem to work as far as I can tell.

If I restart the laptop wireless then works fine? It can sometimes go for days without problem, or it can play up to continually?

I'm puzzled as to why he does on its own and why it is so random. I called the service desk and the guy got me to uninstall and then reinstall something in Device Manager, but it did not help. It was for me to 'restore' the machine to factory settings, but I am not convinced that this will help me?

I'm not a geek - then someone can you please advise if there is a setting or something I should use to prevent this.

The operating system is Windows 7 and my anti virus is AVG if that helps. It is not my router as other devices work fine.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

    > There is a wireless switch between the keyboard and screen, but which has no effect. The function keys don't seem to work as far as I can tell.

As much as I know there not additional switch to activate the Wlan. You can enable or disable the WiFi network using the FN + F8 key combination.
    Have you tried that?

In your case I would recommend updating the driver WLan.
In many cases, updates to improve the performance of WLan and could help you solve this problem
Of my knowledge, the laptop was equipped with a Wlan Intel card.
Thus, you should use the driver Intel Wlan from here:

  • Satellite L disconnects randomly WiFi

My laptop keeps randomly disconnecting from wireless network even if the network has not ceased to issue.

After what happened, often the laptop will pick up the fact that there are wireless networks but refuses to connect.
The only way to solve the problem is to restart the laptop, then go through the repair process by ' + * wireless connections * +' where it says then I need to ' * + turn on wireless capability + *' which seems to have broken, even if I deviated _not the switch_ wireless, so it remains in the position we.

Is there anything I can do to fix this problem without having to restart, because it becomes painful.

I'd appreciate any help as I start to go slowly insane! Thank you! :)

    Hello

In most cases these WLan problems can be solved by WLan driver update.
I can't find an info if you have already tried these updates so I recommend this review in your ad

    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/WLAN/

Alternatively, you can try to disable management feature in Win 7 WLan power supply management.
The point is that Wlan connection could interrupt because of this energy savings helps extend the battery working but affects the performance of Wlan.
