Perhaps TCP/IP - no internet

Presario SR 2032 X does not connect to the internet. Run DIAGS, spent first two, fails tcp/ip.

I tried to recover total. Formatted disk and still the same problem.

Tried to disable the NIC built in and separate installation. The same problem. I know that the internet is very well because I have another computer that is able to connect to the same modem cable / cable.

So, is it possible something about MBoard went wrong? Thought with the new facility that all problems would be gone. Same thing with another network card. Nope.

Any ideas?

You said that your computer is directly connected to the cable modem.

Sometimes, the power must be recycled on cable modem, before it will give a valid ip address to a different network adapter.

Also which IP address is your computer becomes?

You can find it using the following commands...

Start, run, CMD (enter)

IPCONFIG/ALL

    Hello

What link are you using exactly: LAN or WLan.

LAN and WLan connection use the TCP/IP protocol.
If you use the local network connection, go to the properties of LAN connection and choose the version of the Internet 4 TCP/IP protocol.
Click on TCP/IP properties of this 4 and make sure that the options obtain an IP address automatically called and the DNS server address automatically get was chosen.
Also disable the TCP/IP 6 Internet Protocol version as this could do some problems in older routers

If you use DHCP, you must turn on your laptop or set a static IP address.

Many viruses will assign a static IP address in the TCP/IP settings, try the following:

    1. Open network connections by clicking the start , and then clicking Control Panel. In the search box, type adapter and then, under center network and sharing, click view network connections.

    2. Right click on the connection that you want to change, and then click Properties. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

    3. Click the network tab. Under this connection uses the following items, click Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) or Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6), and then click Properties.

Double check and make sure obtain DNS / IP are both checked on automatic.

  • Block of Win 7 Internet while allowing a Linux VM to use the net

Hi, is it possible?  I tried the opposite, LinuxMint boot, then a VM Win7, which works fine internet blocking from the Win VM Internet form, but work a bit slow Windows for my Image processing programs.

Thus returned to a boot of Win 7 64 and ideally want to be able to use the Linux VM (9) to surf the net, while blocking the windows to be connected on.

Thanks in advance, Ian in Oz.

If the Virtual Machine is configured to use Bridged Networking, then you can stop the host itself to have an Internet/network connectivity by deselecting everything except VMware Bridge Protocol in the reception of the network adapter properties.  Or at least uncheck, Client of Microsoft Networks, file and print sharing for Microsoft Networks, Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6) and Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4).

  • Satellite X 200-line appear on the screen and the computer to stop responding W7

    Hello

I installed windows 7 a few days ago. I have download all the drivers, but:

After starting the computer and connecting to windows, if I run an application too quickly (perhaps outlook, google chrome, internet explore explore...), it seems that the pilot does not display (and windows try to restore), and lines appear horizontally on the screen (only have 3/4 left of the screen, the right 1/4 is normal: S). after 30 seconds the screen goes black, and 15 seconds later, a beep comes from the laptop. After that, the only solution is to stop via pressing 5 sec the power :(button

My graphics card is a nvidia geforce 8700 M GT. I have trid the drivers on the toshiba site (but this is for vista, W7 those not released... for this laptop). It changed nothing, so I download them from the nvidia site (one graduate and Beta 1), same result, it has not changed anyting... (I precise that I uninstall all drivers before reinstalling the new)
So, I have updated the bios, nothing better.

I read a solution on the microsoft Web site (for example to remove 5 keys register HKEY_USER /.) DEFAUT/control panel/Desktop and HKEY_CURENT_USER/control panel/Desktop), but these keys did not exist on my system, it couldn't be that.

    So, I'm in the wall.
    Someone has an idea?

    Thank you

After many internet research, I found an interesting answer, and it was my solution!

On the nvidia site, you can go the archived drivers.
For mine (geforce 8700M GT), there are 179, 185, 186 and 195 immediate release. I have download the 179 (oldest), and... everything works great!

    My problem is solved.

Hope this will help other people!

  • Can not go beyond "Windows Boot Manager".

The following message appeared after restarting my computer (Toshiba Satellite A200 1V0) from a window vista update

Windows could not start. A recent hardwre or software change might be the cause.
    To solve the problem.
    1. Insert your windows installation disc and restart your computer.
    2. choose your language settings, and then click "next".
    3. click on "repair your computer".

If you do not have the disk, contact your system administrator or computer manufacturer for assistance.

    File: \Boot\BCD
    Status: 0xc000014
Info: An error occurred trying to read the windows boot configuration data

Now my problem is that I can not change same anytthing for my computer to boot from CD - I do not have a windows disc but produced Toshiba recover disk but nothing works at all. Ive tried pressing F2, F8, F12, DEL... in fact almost all of the keys just in the hope that it will work.

Anyone got any ideas on what I can do. IM resigned pretty much on the fact that Im going to lose everything that I just need the computer to the top and running again as soon as I can.

    Thank you very much

Until one of the experts can give you advice on the repair of your Vista system, you might like to try to recover your files. I'm not very computer literate, but managed to achieve this when I "killed" my installation of Windows 2000. I ASSUME the same process should work with Vista. (Somewhat disturbing, Windows passwords do not seem to matter.)

Download a Linux live CD - Linux "Puppy", I found a small one - download good and easy to use. Burn the .iso file, resulting on a CD. Insert the CD into your CD/DVD drive and start the computer. Let it boot the Linux operating system. (You may need to experiment with the BIOS settings for the computer to boot from CD before its own hard drive).

You now have a linux regardless of your hard disk operating system. (If it is one of the major Linux programs, it will be slow when run from CD - is not a problem - just requires patience!)

With a little luck, the Linux system will see all disks connected to your computer, including your hard drive. (The same as your normal operating system sees a USB and can copy files, for example.) You might then be able to browse the files on your hard drive and copy them to a disk external drive or USB key.

I met a few issue permissions to write to the external drive - sorry, can't remember the flippant answer but it was very simple - and had only once. Again, it just Google the problem. There are many experts Linux display discussions out there!

This does not allow you to start your Vista system or something like that, but if you can get your files copied to a safe place, so you can just copy them back once you have reinstalled the offending Vista system.

I'll try to provide a link to an answer that I already proposed here - Sorry, it's a little tedious, but the link it can be useful, too.

    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=44736&TSTART=30

One of those things that is easier to do than to describe, perhaps - lots on the internet about Linux rescue CD.

I found a lot of useful articles on this google link:

    http://www.Google.co.UK/search?hl=en&q=using+a+Linux+live+CD+to+rescue+Win dows + files & btnG = Google + Search & meta =

I've never been good by entering search terms. you will find many things better.

But the good news is that it would be possible to recover at least some of your data before reinstalling.

If you have not used Linux live CD before, first do some work at home. They are surprisingly easy, especially when you have overcome one or two of the usual initial traps for example try to burn the live CD as data rather than an iso CD then wonder why it won't start. Proabably more easy for you to do a little research on Google than for me to write pages here!

Another alternative, if you're better to dismantle the computers than me, would be to remove it from your hard drive and install it in a suitable external hard drive enclosure. This can then be connected to another computer via a USB port and you should be able to read your files as if a USB flash drive and copy them. I only tried this with the old readers of old desktop computers with nothing on them that counts too - but it seems easy enough. Once again, just a way to copy all your stuff before wiping the hard drive of your laptop and reinstall Vista.

Sorry if it was a little hike - hope that gives you some ideas.

    Hello

    Hey Shauna Lea,

Please use the Microsoft Windows Forum.

Have you recently installed Internet Explorer 8?

If you want your Internet Explorer 7 back, perhaps, first please uninstall Internet Explorer 8 in Windows Vista .

To uninstall Internet Explorer 8, follow these steps:

    1. close all programs.
    2. click on start and then click Control Panel.
    3. under programs, click on uninstall a program.
    4. in the pane tasks, click on turn Windows features on or off.
    5. in the windows features list, clear the check box next to Internet Explorer 8.
    6. you receive a warning message in a pop-up window. Click Yes.

Internet Explorer 8 will now be uninstalled. The system will reboot after the installation.

Uninstall Internet Explorer 8 on Vista will automatically return to the previous version of Internet Explorer 7.

If you have the Windows 7 operating system, Internet Explorer 8 comes integrated with it and cannot have Internet Explorer 7 is installed on it.

    Hope this has helped

  • Dell Inspiron 13-7352 Wifi dropped unable to connect!

I just bought this new laptop today with Windows 10 system. Everything worked fine in the first few hours but all to BLOW IT IS No. CONNECTION WIFI. There was just a Red Cross in the symbol of this wifi at the bottom right and when I click on it or plane, or the wifi mode is activated.

I clicked on bottom of wifi, but it has no light, kept gray. I opened the setting turned on wifi but there is no wifi displayed. I go to the setting for the airplane mode screen and 'WiFi' botton was not on. I clicked on it to try to turn it on but it won't let me. the background moved to 'on' and then bounced back is disabled, gray kept Just... I activated the airplane mode and then turned off and tried repeatedly to turn on the WIFI. It just won't let me.

And then I restarted the laptop. THEN THE WIFI has WORKS PERFECTLY... at the bottom of the wifi, once restarted, just worked so well, that I could turn it on and off with a simple click. of course different from the previous.

HOWEVER, AFTER 2 HOURS, EXACTLY THE SAME THING HAPPENED AGAIN... I REBOOTED, IT WORKED AGAIN...

I think that there's obviously a problem. No way I'll keep restarting my laptop every 2 hours...

    someone has an idea?

    Thank you!

I also wanted to return the laptop after talking to Dell technical support. They asked more then $100 to repair or buy support for one year for $250. I hope I had help from my son-in-low who is an experienced certified networks engineer and we spent an hour or more on the phone to solve the problem and find the right Wi - Fi configuration.

Here is the solution that works for my Inspiron 2015 13 7000 2-in-1.

    1. go to the Start button setting.

    2. on the definition of window go to "network and Internet".

    3. in the window "Network & Internet" open "network and sharing Center."

    4. on the window center network and sharing, find connections: Wi - Fi (name of your wi - fi connection)

    5. click on Wi - Fi and open the window state of the Wi - Fi free.

    6. on the wireless connection status window, click the properties button and open the Properties window for the free Wi - Fi connection.

    7. you will see the list of questions for this connection.

    8. attention to two points: Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) and Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6). On my laptop, the two protocols have been verified.

    9. click on TCP/IPv6. Click OK and close the other windows.

    10. restart the laptop.

After that my problem has been resolved and I had Internet.

Hope this will help some of you.

  • Homegroup question - error "a homegroup can be created on a home network.".

I read a lot of messages and no cover up my problem. I worked through programs of solving problems without result. The network in the network and sharing Center show that my current network is a home network. I want to create a homegroup and click on create and then click on create a homegroup ready to use. I've selected all the sharing options, and then click Next. The process starts and then I get the following dialog "a homegroup cannot be created on a home network... etc.". Why is this occurs when my network is a home network? I tried all built-in diagnostics programs. In the list of services HomeGroup provider runs as is the peer networking grouping.

I have a router broadband connections LAN and Wi - Fi a desktop PC connected via Powerline LAN, a printer, which can be LAN or USB or WiFi, a laptop and a Tablet, between all that I want to communicate.

Where I'm going wrong? I have an administrator account and my normal account. Any action that requires authorization from the admin marked upward and the relevant password entered.

There, can someone help me please?

So to use the new Windows 7 homegroup feature, you must make sure that IPv6 is enabled.

You can check to see if IPv6 is enabled on your computer, click Start , and then type network in the search box.

Then click on network and sharing Center.

Then click on change adapter settings in the left pane of the dialog box

Finally, right click on your network connection, and choose Properties. Here you should see Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) and Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6) in the list, and they both need to be audited.

    also

Make sure that third-party firewalls are disabled as Comodo, etc. Sometimes antivirus programs also come with firewall such as Norton, Kaspersky and McAfee Security software. These programs can block connections and help you connect to a homegroup or implementation.

one last thing to try! GO TO YOUR BUTTON 'START' AGAIN...

TYPE 'SERVICES' AND WHEN YOU SEE THE REQUEST FOR 'SERVICES '.

OPEN THE PROGRAM (SELECT RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR)

THEN... ENSURE THAT THESE SERVICES LISTED BELOW ARE TURNED ON (MAKE SURE THAT "STARTUP TYPE" IS SET TO AUTO MATIC... THE FOLLOWING SERVICES ARE CORRECT, YOU MUST MAKE SURE ARE "ON" AND NOT ORDERS:

Services that need to be turned on are listed below:

    • DNS client
    • Function Discovery Provider Host
    • Function Discovery Resource Publication
    • Peer networking grouping
    • HomeGroup provider
    • HomeGroup listener
    • SSDP Discovery
