Homegroup question - error "a homegroup can be created on a home network.".

I read a lot of messages and no cover up my problem. I worked through programs of solving problems without result. The network in the network and sharing Center show that my current network is a home network. I want to create a homegroup and click on create and then click on create a homegroup ready to use. I've selected all the sharing options, and then click Next. The process starts and then I get the following dialog "a homegroup cannot be created on a home network... etc.". Why is this occurs when my network is a home network? I tried all built-in diagnostics programs. In the list of services HomeGroup provider runs as is the peer networking grouping.

I have a router broadband connections LAN and Wi - Fi a desktop PC connected via Powerline LAN, a printer, which can be LAN or USB or WiFi, a laptop and a Tablet, between all that I want to communicate.

Where I'm going wrong? I have an administrator account and my normal account. Any action that requires authorization from the admin marked upward and the relevant password entered.

There, can someone help me please?

So to use the new Windows 7 homegroup feature, you must make sure that IPv6 is enabled.

You can check to see if IPv6 is enabled on your computer, click Start , and then type network in the search box.

Then click on network and sharing Center.

Then click on change adapter settings in the left pane of the dialog box

Finally, right click on your network connection, and choose Properties. Here you should see Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) and Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6) in the list, and they both need to be audited.

Make sure that third-party firewalls are disabled as Comodo, etc. Sometimes antivirus programs also come with firewall such as Norton, Kaspersky and McAfee Security software. These programs can block connections and help you connect to a homegroup or implementation.

one last thing to try! GO TO YOUR BUTTON 'START' AGAIN...

TYPE 'SERVICES' AND WHEN YOU SEE THE REQUEST FOR 'SERVICES '.

OPEN THE PROGRAM (SELECT RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR)

THEN... ENSURE THAT THESE SERVICES LISTED BELOW ARE TURNED ON (MAKE SURE THAT "STARTUP TYPE" IS SET TO AUTO MATIC... THE FOLLOWING SERVICES ARE CORRECT, YOU MUST MAKE SURE ARE "ON" AND NOT ORDERS:

Services that need to be turned on are listed below:

  • DNS client
  • Function Discovery Provider Host
  • Function Discovery Resource Publication
  • Peer networking grouping
  • HomeGroup provider
  • HomeGroup listener
  • SSDP Discovery
  • UPnP device host

I'm not sure that looking to the right registry key, but I certainly don't want to bother you here if you don't know what you're doing. A mistake in the registry can make your computer unbootable. The problem is that what you are trying to download is trying to download an apparently non-existent folder. I think it would be best if you have someone qualified to look at the machine. This could be a very knowledgeable friend or computer technology (as long as the friend is really competent and not just say it is). Without being able to see your computer and get the answers to my questions, I can't really help.

  • I can't create the local group on vSphere Client 5.5

    Hello, Hello all!

I'have the vSphere Client 5.5 and I cannot create a local group on the tab "local users and groups. When I create a group shows me an error and I can not create it. This is the error that I have:

Call "HostLocalAccountManager.CreateGroup" of object "ha-localacctmgr" on ESXi 'IP' failed.

I am connected to the root.

I saw in other forums that it is impossible to create groups due to the last version is only possible in the Web Client that comes integrated with vCenter.

In the old versions is possible, but when I open a session in vSphere Client 5.0 for example, I have to update version and I can't use the 5.0 version.

    How can you help me?

    Thanks and greetings

PD: Sorry for my bad English

    Hi Danisb3,

It seems that local users is now the recommended around work (see link above), but as you said if you have vCenter you can add groups

ESXi 5.1 and later versions does not support local groups. However, Active Directory groups are supported - is it possible to connect to AD?

  • Failed to create the pool of network VXLAN

I tried to get VXLANs working with the vcloud Director, but have had a problem that I can't work on it would be really grateful for the help.

I went through the config VXLAN Vshield Manager and I think it's ok that I can manually create a pool of network a network, create a virtual wire and attach VMs. If everything looks good. My problem is that when I create a provider VDC in Vcloud Director the associated network pool creation always fails. I don't have to provide the exact error message, but it is something in the sense of 'Vcloud Director received an unexpected response or Manager unknown Vshield, see the logs for Vshiled Manager for more information'. I looked in Vshield Manager logs and can't really find something useful, but it is a bit of a nightmare, I can just be looking in the wrong place.

    Anyone got any ideas?

    TIA

can you confirm/update of credentials here:

    connect to vcloud

go to list of vCenters manage and monitor

Right-click the vCenter to that that vShield Manager is associated

    Click on properties

update the user names and passwords in two tabs

  • Why can't connect me to my network to work, but I can connect to my home netwrok

A few weeks ago, I went into labor, connected to the network.  After doing other work, I went back to my computer typed a document and press only to notice that I was no longer on the network.  There was no interruption in power, the computer does not cut: he was sitting on my desk.  At this time there, the network wouldn't let me turn it on again.  I would get a message saying: he can't connect because it timed out or due to the action of the user.  I rent a space in a small office - there is no information TECHNOLOGY staff.  The landlord had someone and have reconnected.  I could connect the next time I was in the office with no problems.  A week after I got back on the same thing happened, and even once I can't always on.  There is someone else coming into the office during this period (I'm with a patient when she arrives so it is in the same time of 30 minutes each week, the same day) and I wonder if when she connects could it be me?  The other day I work, I'm the only one in the office, and when this was corrected at the first time that I could get that day without incident. No one else has this problem-, but they're working on the time where that other person is not in or it's already here and connected when they arrive.  What can I do for this fis.  From now on, they tell me this is my problem and that it must be my computer but I can't connect to my home network without problem.  I am getting very frustrated because I need to go to print documents or really work on something outside to see my patients.  What could be the problem?  I think the last time that he has been fixed, they reset the router, but they won't touch me any equipment.

    Hello

I imagine the inconvenience that you are experiencing. I'll certainly try and help you in the matter of fixing.

To help you to propose measures to solve the problem, I would appreciate if you could answer the following questions:

    1. how many users is configured on the computer?

    2 are logged as administrator?

3 have you logged on a domain?

4 is it a cable or a wireless connection?

    5. you have any antivirus installed on the computer program?

    6. are you aware of any recent software or hardware on the computer changes?

You can disable temporary, your security software and check.

How can I turn on or turn off the firewall in Windows XP Service Pack 2 or later versions?

Note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you do not disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network during the time that your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

You can also try the steps and check if it helps. (You must be logged on as administrator to run the steps)

    a. Click Start.

    b. click on run

    c. type cmd.exe, and then press ENTER.

    d. type the following commands, and press ENTER.

    ipconfig/flushdns

    ipconfig/registerdns

    ipconfig/release

    ipconfig / renew

I guess that the other two computers are working properly and that it can network together and that the only problem is the XP machine.  I'm also assuming that this problem persists when the firewall was disabled (including hidden like the one in the Cisco VPN client).  I also assume you mean by "is no longer connect to my home network" that you can't see other computers in your network neighborhood.
