Permit for site to Site VPN - display Ports

Hello

I have HQ(Site A) ASA5505 configuration with two VPN Tunnels established to the remote sites (Site B and) C Site. Everything works very well. I am able to ping on each subnet devices (from Site A to Site B and Site C and vice versa) successfully; However, cann't devices communicate with a server at Headquarters (Site A) and I wanted to make sure that the ports are open in the Tunnels. How to accomplish this?

Much appreciated!

Best, ~ sK

Hello

There are many things that decide what traffic is transferred to the L2L VPN connections and what is allowed through the actual firewalls.

First of all, you naturally want to confirm that the host which need to communicate is really configured on the VPN L2L configurations. In the ACL, which defines the traffic.

If this mentioned that ACL is very though then you will probably want to take a look at the NAT configuration are ok. You use NAT0 to all traffic on all of these VPN L2L connections?

Then, you naturally want to confirm that host generate connections that are allowed to form the connection via the 'inside' ACL on the ASA local interface.

Then theres a "sysopt connection permit-vpn. This configuration command controls the adjustment if connections through VPN connections are allowed to ignore the 'outer' interface ACL. The default setting for ASA, is that all connections from VPN connection are automatically bypassing the 'outside' the ACL interface (or rather the ACL of the interface when the VPN was interrupted on the SAA, although its 99% of the time 'outside')

To check the State of the above mentioned questioning the command 'show sysopt run '. If you do not see what is the "vpn" in the output, then you will know the setting is in its default value and therefore is not block connections. If there is "no sysopt connection permit-vpn" means that you need to allow all necessary traffic while the 'outer' interface ACL.

To check if certain traffic gets correctly transmitted to the VPN L2L at his LOCAL ASA then you can use the command "packet - trace.

Format would be

  • Assuming the traffic is initiated by behind the interface 'inside '.

entrance to Packet-trace inside tcp

This example displays a message about long'ish on the CLI that will tell all the audit which are made to the traffic that you are trying to simulate. It will also inform your NAT and ACLs rules is corresponding to the movement. He will also mention if traffic is transferred to a VPN connection.

Natutally firewall logs is a great tool to determine where the traffic stops (checking all the ASAs related to the connection attempt). The ASDM GUI (monitor section) is ideal for this purpose.

Also if you want to go even deeper, you can capture packets from the firewall to the ASA. But since in this case we are talking about VPN/encrypted traffic you can only take the capture on the interface of 'inside' interface input/output traffic is not encrypted.

I do not think that the ASA provides a tool to tell you what traffic is allowed through the L2L VPN connection. You can use combined the above to determine that. Of course, you might be able to run a program on a host behind the ASA to scan open ports.

I hope that some of this information will help you understand what is wrong.

Of course, ask if you need more information about something that I mentioned above. If you take the exit "packet - trace" of some of the ASAs, you can share the result here for us to look through.

EDIT: typos

Edit2: Even the strangest faults strike. I'm too tired.

  • P2415Q - no display on DVI, HDMI. No menu. Worked perfectly for a month on the display port

Line of reason: Dell P2415Q. After a month, works perfectly on the display port, no display on screen Display Port or HDMI, no response to the menu buttons, backlight and power ON but no picture on the screen.

    Description of the problem

The monitor worked out of the box for a month using the mini display port display port cable supplied with the monitor, which was plugged into my XFX 7970 and 7950 graphics cards. It supports 4K at 60 Hz and has been exceptional for photos, videos and games. Wednesday, the monitor no longer works, no picture or menu is displayed on the monitor. I plugged my old monitor to help diagnose via DVI graphics card even. When I press the power button on the Dell P2415Q monitor, the power LED lights up and the computer detects the monitor (as shown in the menu of the windows screen resolution). He defines as a secondary display but the screen remains black, I see the light power and backlight is turned on. No power save mode popup doesn't appear on the monitor, when I press the buttons of the menu there is no response from the screen, it stays black. I repeated with an HDMI cable, the same problem occurs without intervention or image. I repeated and disabled crossfire (which allows graphics cards to run independently) and tried the second graphics card without response. I tried the HDMI cable I used on my old LG monitor, it works well. I tried to connect a laptop on HDMI to the monitor too, no response from the monitor. I've exhausted all the tests I can think, I guess I'll have to return to the screen for repair or replacement under warranty. A question to the community - and dell rep is there anything else I can try / to make this work?

    Monitor / computer details

    Monitoring of service tag:
Computer: Non-Dell, build self about 2 years ago. Ivy Bridge i5, motherboard Gigabyte Sniper, 16 GB RAM, XFX 7970 GPU and XFGX 7950 GPU crossfire, 256 GB SSD, Corsair AX 860W (860W on independent 12V rails) supply power. Windows 7, 64-bit. (D2342 LG secondary monitor).
Operating system: Windows 7, 64 bit.
Graphics card: XFX 7950 XFX in Crossfire and 7970 (tested separately, product monitor fault at a time).
Video card driver: 14.12 AMD driver Catalyst (restored to the old driver, always due to lack of product monitor).
Video card output ports: tested with miniDP and HDMI on both cards, with crossfire enabled and disabled. Monitor product always loopholes.
Cable video card: miniDP to DP cable supplied with the monitor. HDMI, tested with spare monitor to confirm it works correctly.
Monitor Menu button: Inadmissible, what power is enabled on the computer detects the Dell P2415Q monitor, the backlight lights up but no image appears on the screen. By pressing the menu buttons produces no result - menu does not appear on the screen. Power LED is lit.
Monitor purchase: purchased from Overclockers.co.uk March 2015.

    * Turn off the monitor
    * Disconnect all cables from the screen, including the power cable
    * Press the power monitor in pendant button 15 seconds
    * Reconnect monitor cables, then repeat the test. If still no go, your only option is to get exchanged by buying warranty

  • Permissions for user Workflow in web display Interaction

    Hello
I am a newbe to vmware Orchestrator,
I do a stream of work that require user intervention.
Everythings works fine, including the security.group attribute in the interaction of the user associated with an OperatorGroup in Active Directory.
So right now, I want to use the web view where a single user can start the workflow and can respond to another user (member of the opertorGroup) to the workflow.

    Here begins the problem:

If the user of OperatorGroup use the vCO Client to answer, everything is ok,
But if try to use web display (weboperator), I find the workflow running in the waiting state, but once chosen correctly I do not see the "Answer" button but only a simple string 'Description' and nothing else.
In the vCO server log, I found this error:

ERROR [WebObject] property does not exist 'displayName' object WorkflowToken%2Cdunes%3A%2F%2Fservice.dunes.ch%2FWorkflowToken%3Fid%3D%2791808080808080808080808080808080BC80808001333462110581b675f900f65%27%26dunesName%3D%27WorkflowToken%27

If I try with a member of the user of the 'Oct Admin Group', it works...
I tried to assign all permissions (view, run, inspect, Admin, delete) in the workflow and also in the folder OperatorGroup root, but nothing has changed.

If I run the workflow to a user of the OperatorGroup, the web pages display correctly. (the 'reply' button is indicated).

It seems there's a problem of the opinion weboperator filter when the running workflow with different credentials of the user running workflow.

    Can someone help me?
How can I solve this problem?

    Thanks to advice.

How can I get rid of this irritating pop-up message whenever outlook is open?

Without knowing what are certificate errors, it is a shot-in-the-dark.

80 90% of certificate in Windows XP errors can be attributed to one of the following two issues:

    1. Time Date, time, time zone, or light of day on your computer is/is not set correctly.  The time on your machine should be within 5 minutes of real time for certificates authenticate properly.  Right-click on your taskbar clock, and select time settings to check the correct time.  Synchronize time via Internet can solve this problem.
    2. Windows XP does a poor job of keeping its root certificates (certificates by which all other certificates are considered) up-to-date.  The newer versions of Windows did a much better job.  It certainly wouldn't hurt to update your root certificates and in many cases, this is all you need.  For update, visit the following article:
"Members of the certificate program root Windows.
Then go down to the subsection titled "root Update Package (for Windows XP only).  Then click on the option "update for root certificates for Windows XP... "the link.  This will take you to the last downloadable update.  Download the package on your computer and double-click it to update your certificates

One of the above should solve your problem.

What I mean with the routing is a routing protocol or static routes the SAA can choose between interfaces to establish the tunnel.

If the ASA has the card encryption applied to two interfaces, then one should be used as primary and the other as backup.

How will be the ASA choose which is better? Via the routing.

If you use a routing protocol, the ASA will be known which interface to send packets every time, but if using static routes, you need to change the metric and configuring IP SLA.

  • Impossible to get to the beach for additional IP addresses on IPSec Site to Site VPN

    Hello
I am trying to set up a free IPSec Site to Site VPN between an ASA 5510 (ASA Version 8.2 (3)) to the AC and a Cisco 877 (12.4 (24) T3) to a branch.

At the end of the branch, I have the 192.168.244.0/24 subnet.
At the end of HQ, I have the 172.16.0.0/22 and the 10.0.0.0/8 subnets
The inside interface of the ASA at Headquarters is 172.16.0.15/22

When installing VPN Wizard I ticked the box NAT - T, and I included the additional subnet in the list of protected LANs.

I can sucessfully all the subnets 172.16.0.0/22 but not access anything in the 10.0.0.0/8 subnets.
The Packet Trace ASA tool shows the traffic inside the interface of 172.16.0.0/22 in the direction of 192.168.244.0/24 through the outside interface properly spend, but the 10.0.0.0/8 does not work. He gives no precise information why the 10.0.0.0/8 traffic is dropped.

    [HQ_LAN]---10.0.0.0/8 & 172.16.0.0/22---172.16.0.15(inside_int)-[ASA 5510] - IPSEC-[RTR 877]---192.168.244.0/24---[BRANCH_LAN]

I suspect it might have something to do with NAT?

    Help, please.

    Hello

Peer VPN you do not accept the LAN between these two peers of vpn segment.

    On your ASA

    access-list 100 permit ip 192.168.244.0 0.0.0.255 10.0.0.0 0.255.255.255

Please make the same statement subnet explicitly between two vpn peers and finally please add this route on SAA.

Same question on this ACL so, statement of not identical subnet between two peers of vpn, please make sure it identical at both ends.

  • Split-DNS for Site to Site VPN

I'm running into a problem with Server7 unified presence and CUPC on a remote site.  The two sites are connected through a 515E, PIX Firewall (remote) and 525 (principal).  Both executed PIXOS 8.0.4.  The VPN S2S works very well, except there is a problem with the unified Personal Communicator and the presence of the CUPS server to the main site.  Normally, guests at the remote site use a DNS server for their ISP files and hosts for destinations within the main site.  The hosts file does not presence or TFTP etc., to work with the CUPC on remote site.  By temporarily chaning to the DNS server of our DNS servers on the main site, CUPC works perfectly, however, in this scenario, all THE DNS related traffic goes through the VPN, consume too much bandwidth.  I have configured Split DNS on remote access before configs, and they work very well (including CUPC).  Only DNS traffic I want to go through the VPN is DNS queries for hosts within the protected networks (internal resources).  Any ideas on how to achieve this?

Unfortunately, the same function of split dns is not applicable to the site-to-site vpn. With access remote vpn, configuration is pushed from the server to the client, where the split dns function can be pushed to the client. While in the site to site vpn, there is no configuration that is pushed from one side to the other.

My recommendation would be to install and configure the local DNS server by replicating the DNS server of your main site, so DNS queries are not sent through the VPN tunnel but is resolved locally. However, this requires a different direction for the local DNS server and DNS of the main site replication.

    Hope that helps.

  • Troubleshooting IPSec Site to Site VPN between ASA and 1841

    Hi all

in the past I've implemented several VPN connections between the devices of the SAA. So I thought a site link between an ASA site and 1841 would be easier... But it seems I was mistaken.

I configured a VPN Site to Site, as it has been described in the Document ID: SDM 110198: IPsec Site to Site VPN between ASA/PIX and an example of IOS Router Configuration (I have not used SDM but CCP).

I have run the wizards on the ASA with ASDM and the current IOS version 15.1 1841, with CCP.

It seems to Phase 1 and 2 are coming although my ASA in ADSM reports (monitoring > VPN > VPN statistics > Sessions) a tunnel established with some of the Tx traffic but 0 Rx traffic),

It seems that the routing on the 1841 is working properly as I can tear down the tunnel and relaunch in scathing a host on the network of 1841, but not vice versa.

Trounleshoot VPN of the 1841 report shows a message like "the following sources are forwarded through the interface card crypto.      (172.20.2.0 1) go to "Configure-> routing" and correct the routing table.

I have not found an error on the 1841 config so if one of the guys reading this thread has an idea I appreciate highly suspicion!

It's the running of the 1841 configuration

    Joerg,

ASA receives not all VPN packages because IOS does not send anything.

Try to send packets to the 1841 LAN to LAN of the ASA and see is the "sh cry ips its" on the 1841 increments the encrypted packets (there not)

The problem seems so on the side of the router.

I think that is a routing problem, but you only have one default gateway (no other channels on the router).

The ACL 100 is set to encrypt the traffic between the two subnets.

It seems that the ACL 101 is also bypassing NAT for VPN traffic.

    Follow these steps:

Try running traffic of LAN router inside IP (source of ping 192.168.37.x 172.20.2.254) and see if the packages are not through the translation and obtaining encrypted.

I would also like to delete 100 ACL from the inside interface on the router because it is used for the VPN. You can create an another ACL to apply to the interface.

    Federico.

  • Site to site VPN with router IOS

I want to create a VPN site-to site on the Internet. On the remote site, aside from the VPN to the head office, there should be no traffic not allowed in internal from the Internet to the network and that there should be no traffic from the internal network to the Internet allowed. The internal network will run a private 192.168.x.x address range.

I'm going to use a Cisco 2811 router integrated of services on the remote site and this will last an IPSec VPN that will end a hub at Headquarters. I understand that this router has an IOS and IPS firewall built in.

Would I be right in thinking that because I don't want to have access to the Internet (except VPN) or should I configure IOS firewall features on the router? And there is no point in the configuration of the features IPS wouldn't?

My thought is that only an entry in list of unique access to deny pi a whole applied inbound to the interface that connects to the Internet would be the best strategy. I think that the command "sysopt connection permit-ipsec" should allow the VPN to form even with the ip address to deny any any ACL (or is it just a Pix command? If Yes, then I have to allow ESP and UDP 500 (ISAKMP) from the public address of the hub at Headquarters to allow the VPN to form wouldn't I?).

Think I'll probably expand slightly the access list to allow the icmp Protocol, ssh and https traffic from the IP address of firewall seat outside so that I can monitor the remote site and access it safely if the fail VPN.

And I wouldn't need one access list on the interface connected to the internal network I would like because the range of addresses would be not routable, so they would not be able to initiate connections to the Internet (all the trffic to the remote site is specified under a valuable traffic to bring up the VPN)

Use one of the IOS Firewall inspect commands or the IPS would be useless and have no effect in this case wouldn't it?

I really just need to know if the ip address to deny any any ACL on the external interface on the remote site is the best solution (and the simplest), and whether it will be safe.

We used to use fiewalls Pix for remote VPN site to site, Amazon refuse incoming connections on the external interface by default but now I have been informed that these series 2800 routers will be used later, so I would get my thoughts straight and be able to build safe to do the same work all existing PIX are doing (they are all installed for just the VPN at Headquarters as in) the first paragraph).

I would like any advice or thoughts on the subject. I don't know there must be a ton of people who put routers for the same purpose.

    Thank you in advance.

    Pete.

    Pete

I did a lot of implementations site VPN to another using IOS routers. They work very well. Based on my experience I offer these comments and I hope that they will help you:

-you don't want a list of incoming access on the external interface, but you want more in it than simply refuse an ip. There is no permit-ipsec sysopt connection in IOS so you want to certainly allowed ISAKMP and IPSec/ESP. I suggest that you also want to allow SSH. I would like to allow ICMP but only starting from the address space of the network head end. I do not allow HTTPS since I generally do not allow the http server on the router. If you want HTTPS then certainly enable it. To facilitate the ping and traceroute on the remote I frequently allow icmp echo-reply, timeout and unreachable port from any source.

-I want to put an inside interface access list. There are certain types of traffic that I don't want to send from the Remote LAN. I have usually refuse any trap SNMP or snmp for LAN devices and refuse out of the local network icmp redirects. I also often configure RPF controls inside interface to catch any device which is misconfigured.

-If you want to allow SSH when the VPN is not active (and I highly recommend that you do) then you will probably need to configure at least 1 (and maybe more) users and password of the router ID. And you want to configure authentication on the vty use local authentication if the head end authentication server is not available.

-I'm not clear from your description if you plan to run a dynamic routing via the VPN Protocol. I wish I had a dynamic routing protocol because I want to announce a default route to the remote control via the VPN. I do not locally configure a default route on the remote router. This way if the VPN tunnel is up there is a default route pointing to the tunnel and if the VPN tunnel is not up then there is no local route by default and users on the remote database can not access the Internet. It is a simple and very effective method to ensure that all user traffic must pass through the central site.

-regarding the routes defined on the remote router, my approach is that I define a static route for the endpoint of the tunnel to allow the tunnel to implement and I set up static routes for the subnet to the head of line I can SSH. And I do not configure other static routes the on the remote router.

-You probably want to disable cdp on the external interface and also to disable the proxy-arp (and I don't make any ip unreachable).

-There is frequently a problem when using VPN site-to-site with fragmentation. If a device on the local network sends a frame of maximum size, and then the router needs to add additional headers for IPSec, then the frame is too large and requires fragmentation. I like to use tcp adjust-mss ip to control the chunk size for TCP traffic and avoid any problems with fragmentation.

-I don't think you want to set up the firewall or IPS from the features of IOS on the 2811.

I hope that your application is fine and that my suggestions could be useful.

[edit] after posting my response, I read through your post again and realize that you make to a VPN concentrator. The approach I have proposed on the execution of a routing protocol works for me because I usually have a router IOS in mind. It would not work to connect to a hub.

    HTH

    Rick

  • Site to Site VPN configuration does not

I just tried to set up a test site to site VPN. Diagram of arrangement is attached. Router R2 is supposed to act as the 'Internet' to allow connectivity between the two networks.

    Anyone have any ideas?

  • Site to Site VPN problem ASA 5505

    Hello

I have a strange problem with a site to site VPN. I configured it completely and I added 3 of my internal networks to be encrypted and access the remote network across the tunnel.

For some reason, I can access the remote network of only two of the three internal networkls that I've specified.

Here is a copy of my config - if anyone has any info I would be happy of course.

    Thank you

    Kevin

I feel may be you have a 24 10.239.192.0 255.255.255.0 on the other end in the remote network

    can you please confirm that

    also a reason, why you use 10.239.192.0 255.255.255.128 and 10.239.192.128 255.255.255.128 instead of 10.239.192.0 255.255.255.0

  • How to lock a firewall on a site to site VPN

I have a site to site VPN and management wants it all locked excpet for 3 ports (5950, 5631 and 5632). Is it still possible? Thank you.

Yes, I assume you are using ASA for vpn.

so if the vpn site to site traffic is a site 10.0.1.0/24 to 10.0.2.0/24 site-b then

    site a (who needs security)

    Disable sysopt allowed vpn help

    No vpn sysopt connection permit

now vpn traffic is analyzed against the rules of access on the external interface, place so rule

    object-group authorized service tcpudp

    port-object eq 5025

    access list outside ext by tcp 10.0.2.0 255.255.255.0 10.0.1.0 255.255.255.0 object-group, enabled

    Thank you

    Hello

Newspapers, I see you are using a VPN 3000 Concentrator as the remote vpn end point. Now, also of the debugs next section is interesting:

    local (identity) = 70.91.20.245, distance = 208.249.117.203.

-Looks like our traffic interesting PIX and the hub are not mirrors of each other, and does not. Can you please paste the PIX here cryptographic access lists, so that I can analyze the entries.

-Also, please make sure that you have followed all the steps during the vpn configuration according to the following links:

If your PIX is running at version 7.x and more: http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/vpndevc/ps2030/products_configuration_example09186a008064a06f.shtml

If your PIX is running version 6.3.x: http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/vpndevc/ps2284/products_configuration_example09186a00800949d2.shtml

Once you check the config on PIX and concentrator, please provide me with the output of "sh cry isa his" and "sh cry ipsec his ' of the PIX. With this release, we can continue to troubleshoot if there is more questions.

Let me know if this can help,

    See you soon,.
