Phoenix: Hard drive compatibility

Hello

I have a HP Phoenix 2014 H9 - 1420T. I get error messages that I searched and according to the website of HP I need to replace the hard drive soon. I'm looking for a good replacement of the hard drive and I wanted to know if Seagate - 2 TB internal Serial ATA Hard Drive for desktop computers - Multi would be a good choice. I use the computer for daily work and light game (sims 4). If it's not good could you please recommend something? Thanks for your help!

Hello

Basically, any standard HARD drive for desktop computers (3.5 '') will work. My suggestion use the same brand with the existing brand to one-way.

The series currently has the following options

You can certainly use a disk Sata III since backward compatibility, but your motherboard only supports Sata II speeds.

  • HP Pavilion 9700 series - Hard Drive Compatibility

    Hello

I have a laptop HP Pavilion 9700 (dv9827cl) which has stopped working. I hit the power button and it turns off within 2 seconds.

This has happened before and I had to fix. He has worked almost a year and kaput.

I want to buy an another laptop HP Pavilion 9700 on eBay. Those without a hard disk, the boot up to bios, range from $200 or less. The hard drive in my old laptop works in any series HP Pavilion 9700? If this isn't an idea where I could find information about compatibility?

    Thank you!

As long as it is the same family of i.e. AMD or Intel processor, you will be OK. You may need to load a driver or two, but the hard drive of an AMD dv9700 will start in any other dv9700 AMD. It is not quite as sensitive as suggested above, but otherwise, the story would be that if you tried to put it in an Intel system or even a more recent or more old AMD system the essential thing which must be the same is the main chipset on the motherboard.

For completeness I want to clarify that in doing so technically violates the Microsoft EULA. Your OEM for Windows license is specific to the machine, with which it was delivered.

  • Re: Satellite P10 304 - hard drive compatibility

    Hello

My original hard drive is dead and I find it very difficult to get information on the internal hard disks will be compatible replacements, especially that Toshiba offers no sales through this site.

The old disk seems to be IDE (or EIDE). An ATA100 drive would be compatible? PATA?

    Thanks for any information.

This forum offers numerous useful threads on the upgrade of the disk on the Satellite P10.

    But here's my suggestion;
    The laptop uses a 60 GB 4200 RPM IDE (ATA-5) (Ultra-ATA/66)
The controller uses ATA - 5, and in my opinion for example disk HARD ATA - 6 (Ultra-ATA/100) will work too, but perhaps not with 100% performance.

You can install all internal, SATA, 3.5 ", hard drive 7200 RPM, up to 2 TB in size.

Best to search hard drives Western Digital and Seagate brands, also check the length of the manufacturer's warranty, plus the better.

  • Dv4 1242tx hard drive compatibility

    Hello world
I think to upgrade my hard drive on dv4 1242tx and I was wondering if my laptop supports SATA II or SATA III (outside SATA I) format
I understand that it is compatible back but I want to ask is if I buy SATA II HDD TI played to 3 Gbit/s or not (in the same way, the 6 Gbps SATA III HARD disk will)?
Can't seem to find this info in the specs.
    Thank you!

    Hello:

According to the specifications of the chipset of your laptop, the best transfer speed, it can be run at is SATA II (3.0 GB/S).

It is the best speed of transfer chipset Mobile Intel 4 Series can work at.

You need a Mobile Intel set 6 or newer chipset to entirely perform a disk to the SATA III (6.0 GB/S) speed.

Then, A SATA II drive will operate at the speed of SATA II and SATA III disc will work your laptop SATA II speed.
