Photo location is incorrect.

I noticed the location for photos I'm taking is incorrect. What is the accuracy of the location, and it is editable?

go to menu, then settings, then map and compass and make sure both are checked and then recalibrate your compass. Make sure that when calibrate you your compass away from magnets or electronic devices. Also as a possible indicator good compass some people have had problems with compass it due to the fact that they used cell holders who had a top magnetic clasp. As to how accurate, although mine tells me that the city and State and also the code postal when I use it on the photos and he very well with google map too.

  • How to remove the background story of the photo location list screen.

    Original title: Wallpapers

In the drop-down menu under the wallpaper photo location, is to show unused files that do not exist and otherwise I won't. Is there a way to reset the history of this list?

    Hello

Thanks for posting your query on the Microsoft Community.

According to the description of the problem, you are ready to remove the background story of the photo location list screen.

In Windows Vista and later versions, you can change the background by right-clicking on the desktop and selecting the "Customize" option and then click the option 'wallpaper' and there you can apply your wallpaper desired by selecting the image using the button 'Browse' or by selecting an image from the given list.

But whenever you browse a folder to choose your desired wallpaper, its path is stored in the 'Location' drop-down box and everyone can see and use this path, as shown in the following screenshot:

If you want to clear the history of any situation or want to delete any path of particular folder in the list, you can follow these steps and see if it helps you to solve the problem.

    1. Press on the key Windows + R.
    2. Type regedit in the Run box.
    3. In the left pane, navigate to: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Wallpapers\Images
    4. In the right pane, you will see all of directory paths listed. Simply select the key associated to the path that you want to delete and delete.
    5. That's all. It will immediately remove this folder in the history list. Now, you can see the background list to screen and your deleted way won't be there.

  • Photo location - Override

I have analyzed hundreds of photos of prints and negatives and am adding them to my photo library.

I adds the location to each batch of photos using "I command."

I am able to enter my home address and Photos seems to recognize it, but when I close the dialogue and see photos at times, the place has changed to a local reference point, in this case a local Golf Club. If I once again, select the photo, and then click Control - I map shows the PIN dropped in the correct location of our home.

Is there a way to correct the situation or to stop the picture to adjust the location?

Right now it seems that we spent most of our Christmas and birthdays to the Golf Club.

There is currently no way to substitute the name of the location.  Photos retrieves the names of the locations of a database of places.  Send feedback to Apple on a usability problem.  This database must be updated.

  • My Windows Photo Gallery has incorrect time for good that my computer is correct. I know how to change the time, but wanted the exact time is displayed automatically when you scan photos etc as before.

Time is incorrect in Windows Photo Gallery and I would like to do this automatically scanned early for photos instead of my change time.

    Hi Sardai,

Unfortunately, this information is not always accurate. If you took some of your pictures in a different time zone, for example, the time recorded for these pictures could be incorrect by several hours. The camera can also be set to the wrong date and time. Or, if you're scanning photos, ta date will reflect the date that they have been digitized, not the date on which they were taken. All these anomalies can be adjusted manually.

To change the date or time

    1. open Windows Photo Gallery by clicking on the Start button, all programs, and then clicking Windows Photo Gallery.

    2. If you do not see the details on the side of the window pane, click information on the toolbar to display it.

    3. click on the image you want to change.

    1. to select more than one picture, hold down the CTRL and click each picture you want to change.

    4. click on the date at the top of the details pane.

    5. click on the arrow next to the date and then click the correct date on the calendar.

    6. click on the time at the top of the details pane.

    7. Select the correct time.

To adjust the time for pictures taken in a different time zone

    1. open Windows Photo Gallery by clicking on the Start button, all programs, and then clicking Windows Photo Gallery.

    2. right click on the image you want to change and then click on change time taken.

To select more than one picture, hold down the CTRL and click each picture you want to change, and then click a picture when you are done.

    3. in the change to box, type the number of hours to change, or click the up or down arrow to select the number of hours. To make the new start time, type a minus sign (-) before the number.

  • Photos using the incorrect sort order

The App 'Photos' sort my photos wrong.

    SCREENSHOT 01

    SCREENSHOT 02

The date and time are correct, but the application sorts badly. The video with the bird (capture SCREEN 01) must be below the image with the people (02 SCREEN capture), because I took later.

I don't know how to get it in the right order.

    Could someone help me please?

You import the video later that the photos?  Or you import the videos and the whole phtos?

If you imported the videos while being in a different time zone, Photos will use the time zone where you imported the videos to sort the photos. In this case select the video, then use the command "Set Date and Time" and make sure that the same time zone is used as when importing photos.

Alos, leave the Photos after you crrected date and time.  Sometimes the sort himself corrects only after the relaunch of the Photos.

  • Photo location on the hard drive: how to find the path?

How can we easily and immediately find the path to that photo resides on their hard drive?

By easy, I mean without having to open Windows Explorer, I found the controls but that is a very slow method and heavy approach to essential basic, common and repetitive.

Hover over the path of the file in the metadata Panel.

Or look in the folders Panel.  You can configure the Panel folders as a hierarchy, as if it were on the hard drive, if that helps.

  • The online photo album orientation incorrectly converts images in landscape mode

My photos in photoshop online album are always converted into landscape, despite the images with a correct in the album on PSE v7.0 orientation before they are downloaded. It's frustrating when look a slide show as a large number of photos are on their side, can onyone help please, thank you

Well, this is a known problem in the use of online Albums.

In the desktop software, we use the indicator of Orientation EXIF whether the image should be rotated when displayed. That is the actual image is not properly turned, but we present only it swivels properly in the organizer and in the local version of the Album online.

When he is sent to Photoshop.com for sharing, since the original image is not really turned and Photoshop.com is currently not honoring the EXIF Orientation flag, the image is not turned in his presentation and therefore see the evil.

Solving this problem is indeed on the list of things to fix to PS.com.

    In the meantime...

For any photo that is showing up like evil turned to Photoshop.com, just open this photo in PES with the editor. Turn it. Turn it back. Save it to the original. Wait for the next backup/synchronization cycle to occur and the copy to PS.com will be replaced by correctly rotated version.

    Hope that helps.

  • Photos crash when deleting location

On his return from holiday, I imported hundreds of photos from my camera Panasonic ZS40 in Photos. The ZS40 has a built-in GPS receiver and embeds location information in each photo if available.

Seen in Photos, many (but not all) imported photos appear to have incorporated location information (the little icon 'card' is displayed in the corner down left), but photo location does not appear on the map in the information area.  A map appears, but there is no bug. On the other hand, the info box displays "looking for information about the location..." This opinion never disappears, and location of the photo never appears on the plan (which is not relevant to where the photo was taken).

I suspect that the ZS40 had not yet acquired GPS lock when these photos were taken. Maybe he wrote by default (or defective) lat/long coordinates in EXIF data structure embedded in the JPG file.  In order to correctly assign to the right place in the Photos, I clicked on Image/location/delete location, with the intention to then manually add the location where the photo was taken.  Photos promptly crashes as soon as I click delete location.

This happens every time. I have tried on dozens of different relevant photos, with the same result: pictures of accidents.

There seems to be a coding bug in the program of Photos (I don't like any more whenever I use it).

Can anyone suggest a work around with (or without) photos?

Can anyone tell me the location of the actual JPG image file which Photos has hidden somewhere in its database? (With iPhoto, it was easy to find the actual file...). If I can find the JPGs, I might be able to inspect (and perhaps correct) defective lat/long data in the EXIF data with a geo-tagging 3rd party utility.

Try to manually add the correct location before removing the current location

You can export the unmodified original (menu, file == > export) and then import the corrected photos and remove all original with Photos photos, as it should

The original files are in your photo library in the Masters folder - you can see by clicking on the photo library and shows the contents of the package

BUT, be VERY well sure, you have a great current backup

It isn't really a good idea to waste time in it - there is no serviceable parts by the user in the photo library, it is not designed for human interaction and there is background and iCloud library current operations that may cause problems or even damage your library - it has never been taken in charge are smart to waste his time inside the library and with pictures it's very dangerous

and there are a few user scripts to deal with GPS - they might be useful in determineing you have or even fix - Photos for Mac

  • Lightroom CC location GPS to Google Photos

If I export my data GPS Locator as well as my photos and import these images exported to Google pictures Google reads the location data? Has anyone tried this before? I tried once and it seems not, but maybe I did something wrong.

It works very well, but because the photo locations are sometimes private information, you should check that your export settings are positioned to allow location information to include in the exported images. In the export dialog box in the metadata Panel:

    • To include, select 'All metadata' or 'All except camera and camera Raw Info'. The other two choices do not include the metadata location or GPS.
    • Make sure that "delete location Info" is not selected.

With these settings, metadata location will be included and legible in Google Photos and any other service that can show images on a map.

  • Why can't just drag photos on my desktop with Sierra 10.12 and Photos 2.0?

I used to be able to simply drag a photo from Photos or iPhoto directly on the desktop of my iMac.  Then, I was able to drag the photos located on my desktop to eBay, Craigslist or other sites that I use to sell items.  Now, it seems I have to use a visit to first export the photos to the office, open finder, click Desktop and THEN dragging them to my desktop iMac computer.  Am I missing something or is this the new method to move photos on my iMac desktop.  I apologize for what may be a very stupid question, but I can't help but feel that I lost the ability to make effective use of the Photos and my iMac.  For any help or suggestion is greatl

By dragging from the photo browser to the computer desktop still works for me.  As soon as I drag to an empty space on the desktop the pointer turns into a green '+' and I can put the photo.

If it does not work for you, there could be something problematic about the photos you want to drag.  Photos can be edited or exported? What is the file type of the photos you are trying to drag-and - drop?

  • How to copy or delete location?

Here is my latest for tonight:

Often, I import photos from two or three cameras or phones. Some of them without GPS. However, I would like to have info important location on my photos, as a search criterion.

(I know that you can add location via the popup of tiny Information. It is good to have. But it would be good even if I could resize it. "And as the display of standard maps missing quite often the details, it would be nice to be able to switch to the satellite view).

I often assign to photos location information in the same place as the other photos have the location information. So I open the mark Information and copy the location, select the photo without location and paste the location of the fist photo. It seems to work. Unfortunately, it does not copy the data of the actual location, but only the text string. And after it was stuck for the second picture, he's trying to find the actual location, according to the channel. In most cases it does not get this right.

And if you go back, you can't, because there seems to be no way to remove the manually added location... I guess that it is stored in the database and not on the photo itself, as the Photos done with any changes.

So if you know how to copy - paste location and/or remove location through some less than obvious, please let me know

You can buy external editors for extension of Photos in the App store ($0.99) and use it in edit mode to look at the details of the location in the Inspector pane and you can then enter theminto other photos

  • Photos of iCloud does not sync for iOS

    Hi all

I made a bunch of changes on my Sierra pictures of macOS, including:

    • Changing the names of Albums
    • Merger of some albums

None of these changes are replicated to my iPhone 6 (iOS 10). Also now half of my albums are displayed as having 0 photos which is incorrect.

Was working fine a couple of days.

Someone has recommendations before I try to disable iCloud library on the iPhone and turning on? Someone at - it happen to them?

Best estimate is patience - give it time - you had installed for a few hours - Sierra synchronizations are not instantaneous and a 'heap' of changes will be a "bunch" of time to synchronize

and usually the absolute worst thing in the world to do is to turn iCloud photo library and turn it back on - that should be only a last resort
