Photo ring

Hi all

I would like to know if there are other ways outside the use of ring of photo for the photos I want to display on my control panel.

Because I do not know how to control my photo ring to let appear depending on the outcome, based on some button is which is clicked on.

For example, just now, I am doing a project on an automated food, control system, and to display the image on my front, the program first to know, for example, decide the support order is being chosen. The program will be only to 'find' the image and display on the front panel accordingly.

It works like this: when I choose a food by clicking an OK button named "Chicken cutlet", my program is supposed to display the image of the escalope of chicken to the "View orders" page after you have calculated the total price and all. Right now, my problem is that I don't know how make my program works in the way that it can select and display the image on the right automatically once it detects what OK button is that is clicked.

I hope that you are able to provide me with an alternative in order to satisfy the criteria of my order program!

Thank you!

MUI

Hi Miu,

Take a look at this example. Put images (Trial) named "Item 1", "Item 2", "Item 3" in the image folder. Make sure that the image extension is .jpg.

You can use a similar program in your application. With this you can change the image of food without changing the code. If you use the ring of the photo, if there is no change in the image, you will have to redo the exe. If you wish, you can use. PNG files. Just use vi read the PNG file instead of. JPG.

Try this and let me know.

Good luck

    I had a ring of photo.  When I did that, the photos in the ring is a little too big, so I had to size up to the ring in order to have the image appear.  Is there a way to make the ring and the image in the ring change size simultaneously?

    I have the ring of pic as a type definition, and is medium to large.  When I use the def type in my applicatino, I need the size down.  When I do this, the image of the ring is covered.

    Hello jyang72211,

    Unfortunately, there there was nothing integrated for the control of the ring which allows this functionality (in terms of properties or options invocation). You can control the size of the ring by creating a property node and by writing to the height or width of the control ring (click with the right button on the control of the ring and go to create > property node > digital size named). However, there is currently no way to get the size of the image in the control of the ring.

    They can be a way to do this with a .NET or ActiveX control. However, through LabVIEW there is not a way to do it directly. I hope this info is useful.

    You are right that a RING of photo may not be populated at run time. On the other hand an image can be updated.

  • Hide photo on Panel

    Hello.

    I'm using Labview 8.5.1.

    I want to make a PNG image with my VI, appear and disappear at the request. I use radio buttons to show/hide the different images. The image appear/disappear has a transparent background, so that you can see what are or the pictures below. There is a permanent image on the Panel that must be always visible.

    I was not able to create a property node for a photo displayed on the Panel and photo ring does not work either.

    I hope you can help me.

    Why don't you use a picture box? You have available to access the screws. PNG files. In this way, you can change images at run time.

    You'll find these screws in programming > graphics & sound > graphics formats

  • background image to swap?

    Hello

    I'm looking for a possibility to dynamicaly change the background image of a vi.

    See attached example: the switch should change the image of the circle in an area of the image. the two images are superimposed and I thought I could make a visible image and the other invisible, but the images have no terminal in the block diagram...

    Any idea?

    You will need a convert down to the 7.1. Don't have it on my PC.

    I used a photo ring make the images with decorations (btw use allows a gif for transparent images when importing) and stick to the ring of the image. has taken about 30 seconds.

  • Help with custom radio buttons.

    Before you go all Rube Goldburg thought that I post for a quick reality check.

    Basically, I have a test with several different configurations of coupon and I try to give users an advanced interface to select one they use. Using radio buttons seems the way to go and I inserted my custom images but I have only be able to select by clicking on the buttons. I want the user to be able to click on the image. Unless I'm missing something, I have this feeling that I have to create the four complete custom Boolean buttons with States of 4-6 and then write the code to do that alone is never on at the same time?

    Joint-

    You can change the appearance and the size of the used option button and overlay them on your chart, and then set the transparent parameter. So it looks like they're clicking on custom image but they are clicking on the invisible button on the top of the image.

    But it might be easier to use a ring of photo,

    Photo ring can be changed at runtime to add selections. Where the radio button enum cannot.

  • Transparent bitmap on canvas

    OK, so I'm working on a work around for this bug. Basically, I read my photo rings and generating of new canvases on which I put the pictures of the ring. Then I just put some fabric I want on top. Except that there is a problem with the transparency of the images that is lost in the process:

       int j, New, Bitmap, Left, Top, Width, Height, Pre[3]={1,3,2}; // Only some colors
        for (j=0; j

    I forget something on transparency?

    Yes. In fact, reading the documentation, I realized it's actually easier to use an image instead of a Canvas control. I forgot those. Detective Conan. But please could you answer my other thread on the major memory leak when using the rings of the photo, which is actually the reason why I use this work around? Thank you.

  • Allocation of memory ring LabVIEW animation photo

    I create an animation in labview, I have 1,000 images that I need to go, I use a pict ring and flipping through images... problem is after loading about 200 images (they are 20 k each) my computer to throw in the towel, the RAM is full virtual RAM could be full... I wonder if there is a work around around that?  Any kind of way to manipulate memory so I can finish?  Maybe it's more of a thing of computer a thing of LabVIEW... I thought, if I increase my virtual memory of slots "a lot" and say LabVIEW is not to use e RAM just use virtual memory that maybe I would be able to continue, but I don't know if this is possible or how to make it... any suggestions or advice?

    Thank you very much!

    PS - I realize that there are other programs that are well adapted to this and what LabVIEW is really not the animation software, but I use LabVIEW for this and I am lookin to get advice whether or not this task is possible in LabVIEW. Thank you.

    I would advise not to use the ring of the photo, if it is because it is not very convenient.

    You can use the image control, allowing you to read and display the PNG images one after the other (using the screws in the palette of the image) and here you have two options:

    1. Read the files one at a time. Could be a problem if you do it quickly and repeatedly, it will solve problems of memory, you may have.
    2. Read files at once and keep them in memory. Note that the image control is not any compression, so the actual size of an image in RAM would be PIXELS x 3 bytes (or x 1 byte and a bit, if you have a color depth of 8 bits), so the amount of RAM depends on the size of the image. For a 200 x 200 image, this should be 120 KB, assuming that I did my calculations correctly.

    (1) the first thing to do is to include the error checking. All functions that helps provide a return value, but you prefer to ignore it. It is better, which is safer to check each function for correct operation. Use instead of AnimateCtrl...

  • How to export the image of the ring of the photo

    Hi all

    I have a picture ring, which has several png images.

    Now, I want to save these images as separate files. Any way to export them to the ring?

    Thank you

    Anne

    I got rid of it and added a small patch since the result is there are (at least) two different ways that images are stored and I forgot that I usually ditch that VI when anyway because it does not support transparency.  VI to 8.5, changes illustrated here:

    If you attach your .ctl file I could make sure it works as well.

  • Photo animation ring freezes (LabWindows)

    Hi all

    I want to display a hold with a sign
    animation in it when my application is processing data, using animation
    control. The problem is that the animation is blocked because that all the
    the resources are in the processing of the data (when there is no data processing, the)
    animation works correctly).

    I tried to create a thread
    for the execution of the wait sign on it, but it keeps freezing because
    There is a loop to wait after the processing of the data. I created
    another thread for this loop and now the animation works, but only if
    There are events on the hold sign (moving the mouse above or)
    something).

    I know that's not very effective. Maybe someone knows an easy way to do it.

    Thank you!!

    My code is as follows:

    int Calculate (...)
    {

    ShowWaitPanel();

    INFORMATION PROCESSING...
    HideWaitPanel();

    }

    Sub ShowWaitPanel (void)
    {

    AnimateCtrl_SetAttribute (waitPanelHandle, WAITPANEL_PICTURERING, ATTR_ANIMATE_FRAME_INTERVAL, 0.1);
    AnimateCtrl_SetAttribute (waitPanelHandle, WAITPANEL_PICTURERING, ATTR_ANIMATE_STOP_ON_LAST_FRAME, 0);

    CmtReleaseThreadPoolFunctionID (DEFAULT_THREAD_POOL_HANDLE, checkWaitFlagThreadId);

    DiscardPanel (waitPanelHandle);
    return 0;
    }

    public static int CVICALLBACK CheckWaitPanelFlagThread (void * functionData)
    {
    While (waitPanelActive)

    {

    }
    return 0;
    }

    You need process events. The second function of regular thread is not necessary. Try this:

    public static int CVICALLBACK WaitThreadFunction (void * functionData)
    {
    waitPanelHandle = LoadPanel (0, "SpectrumAnalyzer.uir", WAITPANEL);
    DisplayPanel (waitPanelHandle);
    AnimateCtrl_ConvertFromPictRing (waitPanelHandle, WAITPANEL_PICTURERING);
    AnimateCtrl_SetAttribute (waitPanelHandle, WAITPANEL_PICTURERING, ATTR_ANIMATE_ENABLED, 1);
    AnimateCtrl_SetAttribute (waitPanelHandle, WAITPANEL_PICTURERING, ATTR_ANIMATE_FRAME_INTERVAL, 0.1);
    AnimateCtrl_SetAttribute (waitPanelHandle, WAITPANEL_PICTURERING, ATTR_ANIMATE_STOP_ON_LAST_FRAME, 0);

    While (waitPanelActive)

    {

    ProcessSystemEvents();

    }

    DiscardPanel (waitPanelHandle);

    return 0;
    }
