Photo Screensaver with several screens

I have long used both monitors (such as extended desktop) and the slideshow of pictures my Windows XP as the screen saver and a great way to enjoy a collection of ten years of family photos. I could not make the offerings of Windows 7 to use two monitors; only the main shows of photos, the other is dark. Someone has found a way or software that uses the full desktop; i.e. both views. Both computers have the NVIDIA graphics card.

Hi all

Thanks for that bring to our attention. There was an error with the message is marked as an answer in this thread, and our process now include additional measures to help prevent this from happening again.

The problem addressed in this thread about the screen saver picture showing only on the primary monitor and Windows 7 works as expected. There may be some third party software that allows a photo screen saver to display on multiple monitors.

If you wish to leave a comment for Windows 7 and request this feature in future versions, you can do so here.

    Hey there,

I try to make a screen saver that appears when no user is logged on.

    HKEY_USERS->. By DEFAULT-> Desktop-> ScreenSaveActive = 1

    ScreenSaverIsSecure = 1

    ScreenSaveTimeOut = 10

SCRNSAVE. EXE = path to the .exe (this is a screen saver than does'nt need direct3D: P)

HKEY_USERS->. By DEFAULT-> Screen Saver.Slideshow-> ImageDirectory = path to image file

When I start Windows screen saver starts after 10 seconds, but instead of pictures, it shows only a blackscreen and "there is no images found in"C:\Windows"

  • Bug in several windows in the finder with several screens

When you use finder on several screens (with separate spaces) there is a problem when you enter fullscreen.

    Steps to reproduce:

    1. open finder on a screen.

    2. open another window in the finder on a different view.

    3. full screen or finder window (any).  You will be able to observe a Visual problem where the finder window that you do not use maximizes and enters full screen then go back to normal, just before the finder window you use between full screen.

    4. at this point your finder window full screen is missing in the top navigation bar.  To reveal it, open your mission control and the space finder-click and you will see.  Basically, the navigation bar is on the finder space expanded while the rest of the finder is on office space.

5a. If you try to exit the full screen, your finder window will freeze.

    5. before going back to full screen, if you go to the mission control and drag your space viewfinder on the screen where your other window finder is currently on, you will be able to leave the full screen and the finder window will not freeze.

    Cause of the error:

Still, the problem occurs if the following conditions are met:

-You have two or more finder windows (if you have only a window of finder, you can always expand it without any problem)

-You maximize a window of finder, and it's the only finder window on that office space

For example, if you have three screens and you have 2 1 1 finder windows in offices respectively, you will encounter the error when you maximize the window of the solitary finder on the monitors of 2nd or 3rd.  Maximize a window in the finder on the first monitor has no questions.

Please try to reproduce.  I hope that it is easily reproduced on any machine and I hope this will be fixed as soon as possible.

    Hello

I have several screens in my application and each screen has a few custom controls and bitmap images.

When I move from one screen to another screen, I have more need not old screen. What is the best way to completely eliminate the permeable screen? I also want to eliminate all objects created by this screen as well.

I had a deep look in the forums and books, but I can't find or think of a good solution.

Your help will be very appreciated.

    Thank you

By defining a null object is not the same as references - definition of a null reference only removes only one reference.

For example, if you create a field, add to a Manager, then the reference to the null field, then your code is no longer refers to the field.  However, the field is still referenced by the Manager.

Hello, I recently designed this Web site and the formatting isn't correct when read with different screen resolutions

Just so you know, and to keep clear wire, the resolution got nothing to do with the result by your page or is formatted.  A given page appear exactly the same on any screen resolution requirement to retain the same value in pixels the width of the browser.  This is the variation of the width of a screen to another resolution which causes the difference.  And Yes, it's the fact that you used absolute positioning as a method of main layout that is the problem for the reason that JTANNA has already been mentioned.

Now - how do you want your page to behave?  Do you want to be centered and fixed width (that would be the easiest).  In this case, change this.

  • Go off & on several times before the monitor turns on. Comp seems to start OK but the problem is with the screen.

Original title: XP start help please...

... are to be turned off & on several times before monitor lights. Comp seems to start OK but the problem is with the screen. Do I have to make a boot disk & if so - HOW?

    Hello

    ·         What is the brand and model of the computer?

    ·         You get the error message?

    ·         Did you check the connection of the cable to the monitor?

    ·         Have you tried to update to the latest graphics card and motherboard chipset drivers?

First, try to connect your monitor to a well known PC, maybe the old laptop that you use now. If the monitor works, the problem is with the video card in your PC. If the monitor does not light, the monitor. It is usually cheaper to buy a new monitor that in order to be an old repaired, unless the monitor is still under warranty.

Try connecting a monitor well known to your PC. If the monitor works, your old monitor is fried and needs to be replaced.

If your monitor works when connected to another PC, the problem could be your video card. First, and then you turn on your PC, the power and cooling case fans run they. If they do not, it could be the power supply.

Then, open the computer case. Before you do anything inside, unplug the power supply.

IMPORTANT! Touch any metal part of the computer case to connect to the PC. A single static spark can destroy computer circuits.

If the video card is the type of card that plugs into a slot on the motherboard, remove the screws or attached at the top of the card, remove the card, to manipulate the card by the edges to avoid disturbing the circuits on the card, carefully and re - install the card. Sometimes simply reinstalling the card corrects the problem.

If this does not work, replace the video card with a card of similar type. Perhaps now is the right time for an update of video card.

If the video card is integrated into the motherboard, you can install a new card in one of the PCI slots on the motherboard. When the PC starts for the first time, go into the bios and disable the onboard video.

  • The new Apple TV shows more photos screensaver

We have the previous Apple TV and use it to display pictures.  It seems that there is a limit as to how many photos will be displayed on the screen saver.  Pretty boring watching the same rare now appear.  Given that the new model has more memory, that improve this feature?  If this isn't the case, will probably spend on the upgrade.

Apple TV 2nd, 3rd and 4th generation only to hide about 100 photos of your iTunes photo House library share and then only makes random these pictures for the screen saver and slide show... duplicates endlessly.  This bug problem is annoyingly super obvoius floating screen saver mode.  1st generation is the only unit that really makes your whole iTunes home sharing photos because that synchronize all the photos in your iTunes file on his hard drive.

It is especially the incredibly stupid given the new 4th gen Apple TV has a hard drive with plenty of space.  A modification of the easy software could allow the entire home sharing iTunes photo library of the file to load on the hard disk of the 4th gen and the screen saver program could then really use and alternate all your photos home... just like the 1st gen Apple TV (which has worldwide all time best screen saver).

I hope that some engineer at Apple see how stupid the new screen saver works with home sharing iTunes photo.  I have only about 2000 pictures, but I know that some people have tens of thousands.  It's the modern digital era where we all have tons and tons and tons of pictures... How Apple allows us to display the same impressively than the 1st gen Apple TV... I am baffeled by this one.

I returned my TV Apple 4th gen tomorrow (after I was told to service Apple customer before buying, what it randomize and display my whole House, sharing photos screensaver... bad!).

  • Photo screensaver prevents the display of power

New HP dv5-1235dx notebook my wife is running Vista Home Premium SP1 64-bit.  His favorite screen saver is 'Photos', using a directory containing hundreds of photos.  The screen saver is programmed to start after 3 minutes.  The computer is powered by a power cord, rather than out of the battery.

The problem is that the option of power management to turn off the display does not work when this screensaver is activated.  No matter how much time is allowed for the screen saver, or how late is allowed before the screen should turn off.

If any other screen saver is selected, the power management option turns off the display as expected.  My wife doesn't want to use a different screen saver, however.

Is it possible to get to the screen to disable everything using the screen saver pictures?

I don't want to put the computer to sleep, because preventing my virus scan chose to take place late at night.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

The computer manufacturer helped me solve the problem.

They suggested I have replace the screen saver Windows Vista 'Photos' with a screensaver third photo of my choice, then try to use power management features to turn off the screen again.  It worked.  The third photo screensaver that I have chosen (called 'Slide show without end' and on the Tucows site) does not interfere with power management functions the way built into Vista 'Photos' screen saver appears to do.

  • After the installation of Windows 'important' 3 updates my screensaver started does not. I get a message that says "ScreenSaver:Photo screensaver.scr - unable to locate component".

Original title: screen saver does not start because MSVCR100.dll was not found

After the installation of Windows 'important' 3 updates my screensaver started does not. I get a message that says:

ScreenSaver: Photo screensaver.scr - unable to locate component.

This application has failed to start because MSVCR100.dll was not found. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem.

The screen saver starts after you close the error message. I've never had a problem with my screen saver up to that after I downloaded updates. I don't know how to reinstall the application. I tried Windows Fix - It Solutions, but it does not work. He repeated to me that it was a mistake.

    Help, please. Thank you.

    Hello

It didn't reinstall the ATL update, it reinstalled 2005 Redistributable. So now, I have 2005 and 2010 x 86 both. And it says that two dates installiation are two days after I installed the 2010. I know 2005 and the update was uninstalled, because I checked after restart the computer and before you install the 2010 version. Very curious.

But my Screensaver works and access to the camera seemed to work after uninstalling / reinstalling the software. So, good. Thank you.

  • Deleting Microsoft Photos Screensaver?

How can I get rid of Microsoft pictures screensaver? I don't need it doesn't and it's driving me crazy. I put a warning box white on my screen that stays there forever. It gives me a warning of TPD. I read the lengthy explanations how to solve this problem. but I just want that he went. Thank you

    Hi Sandijo,

Thank you for visiting Microsoft Answers.

one) you use any program for Microsoft Photo screensaver?
    (b) have you set as a saver screen or wallpaper on your computer?
    (c) what do you get exactly in the TPD warning message? Where do you get?

The screensavers that come with Windows, however, can't be removed. We will try this procedure:
    1. open programs and features by clicking on the Start button, clicking Control Panel, click programs, and then clicking programs and features.
    2. click on the screen saver that you want to delete and then click on uninstall.

  • you try to run photo screensaver on 2 monitors

I have 2 monitors on the new Win Vista machine. On XP, the screen saver photos would be travelling on both screens, on Vista, it lies on the main screen. Ditto for some of the others like Windows energy and windows logo - bubbles, aurora, Mystify and ribbons are working on two screens at the same time.

Also - even if the definition of picture on 'random' each time it lights it only made a fade type - but different from the last time, he came.

Not much, but I love to watch my photos when I talk...

    Hello PurpleDog1,

Thank you for posting.  Now the Photo screen saver does not use more than one screen (main screen) in a multi-screen configuration.  I know that this photo screensaver function is Windows 7 and it can be added later to Vista.
Even if you have some other screensavers that use more than one monitor, each screensaver is a separate program with its own characteristics and limitations.  You can try to use Bing.com or your favorite search engine to find screensavers of photo that support multiple monitors.

  • Problem with multiple screens

I added a second monitor to my iMac. The iMac seems to have difficulties to recognize the second monitor when it comes out of power saving mode. Sometimes I have to restart the computer one or more times before the second screen begins to receive the signal.

I use a cable thunderbolt and the second monitor is a BenQ GW2760HS

    Any suggestions?

Unless your external display is equipped Thunderbolt you probably have the wrong cable. Please use an adapter (VGA, HDMI, etc.) mini-Display in the Thunderbolt port on the computer and then connect the appropriate cable. Then follow the directions of the Apple in use several screens with your Mac - Apple Support

  • Photos - photos of iCloud - several users share data bases

Hi hoping someone can point me in the right direction here as it is driving me crazy!

New Mac mini, OS X and photos app.

Basically, I want to share a unique data base of Photos between two users on the same Mac accounts. Have followed all the advice online, I'm always running into difficulty. I put the database on an external SSD with permissions in place for any user access to the base (but only one at a time of course).

All very well so far, but here comes the question. I want pictures of iCloud enabled on one of the accounts with complete download of all pictures to iCloud, when I get out of the photos, the photolibraryd process remains active. This means that when I change the account and you are trying to access the photos, I can't because photoslibraryd in the other account is accessed again. To work around this I started to enter photoslibraryd monitor and the murder of activity as well as the Photos itself before you log in to the second account and to access the Photos. This seems to work (but is a bit of a pain if I forgot!) - which is a lot more pain, it's that if I add some photos in the second account and then go back to the first, rather than synchronize the new photos with iCloud, product photos across the entire library 20,0000 resynchronization photo! It's bad!

I have approached the wrong way? Is there a better way to achieve what I want - that is entirely database of shared photos between two users on the same Mac (with photo stream enabled on both accounts for these devices which have not iCloud photo activated) and iCloud photo enabled on one of the Mac accounts - without killing the process or any what fees General massive sync?

    Grateful for any help.

    Thank you very much

    Rich.

It is not possible to share a library of photos between several users, if the library in question is your system library. If you cannot share the library used as the iCloud photo library with others.  If you want to share photos with others, use a separate library of Photos to share and transfer photos from there to your iCloud library.

I found this in the documentation for PowerPhotos:

    : https://www.fatcatsoftware.com/powerphotos/Help/sharing%20a%20library%20between% 20multiple%20user%20accounts%20on%20one%20mac.html

Share a library between several user accounts on a Mac

Photos is not designed with use multi-user in mind, which makes it very difficult to create a configuration where only one library of Photos are accessed through accounts on your Mac. If you want to share a library in this way, the following restrictions will be applied (for the bottom of discussion, we have two users named A and B we want to share a library):

    1. Account that a single user can never open a library given in Photos at the same time. Before you can use the shared library as long as the user has, make sure to leave Photos as user B.
    2. None of the user accounts that access the library may designate as their "library system". The library system is actually open at any time by OS X in the background, as long as that user is connected, even while quitting smoking pictures not free the library so that another user can open. You must designate another library system library, or completely close the session user B before trying to access the library as user A. Note that this also prevents having this synchronization of library with iCloud.
    3. The library cannot be stored on your internal drive or any other drive where the permissions are respected. Fighting against the permissions on OS X is a losing battle. While you can play whack-a-mole to try to correct the permissions on the library before you open it, then something goes wrong and it is likely that you will be unable to access a part of your library. You should keep the library on an external drive and in the read window information in the Finder, make sure the checkbox "Ignore permissions on this volume" is checked.
