• synchronize photos and all photos

  For some reason I can't explain, the photos I save or receive icloud now go to the album 'pictures' and not 'photos' which is, I understand, the library system.

  This started happening on November 15.

  How can I make sure that my pictures are saved in the main library?

  I have a Macbook Pro, using Yosemite 2015; and pictures 1.0.1

  I also have an ipad and iphone, where the photos are received by the mac, via icloud.

  I would greatly appreciate any ideas!

  They are always in sync (unless you have a corrupt Library) - both are exactly the same pictures views and pictures of each are in your library but sorted differently - all Photos are sorted by date added and Photos are sorted by the date the photo was taken - the most common reason for not finding the photo in the Photos , you have an incorrect date are looking in the wrong place - in all done right click on one and show in moments - the photo should now shown instead correct date/time in Moments - moments opens and the phot is not there, then save your photo library and press the command and option keys while launching Photos and repair your library

  I asked a question on my photo library organization is messed up and am now in the process of reorganization. But I had some other questions about the Photos, I do not understand.

  When I make a bunch of changes to the Photos on my Mac, it takes forever to show these changes album on all my devices. How long that typically takes?

  Pictures takes your iPhoto library and it migrates into your photo library. Two of them use the same photos and are pointing to the same files on the disk at that time here.

  Now, if you add for example photos in iPhoto, Photos.app will not see, that's why the pictures less. All that done in iPhoto, after the migration will not appear in the Photos. There is no way to keep the two applications and libraries is synchronized.

  You can however remove the photo library and use the iPhoto library to migrate again iPhoto to Photos. Then, this includes all the changes caused to the iPhoto library in the meantime and migrates them to Photos. BUT, if you have made changes with Photos (eg. added a few photos to Photos app instead of iPhoto) these things will be lost.

  To ensure the safety of your photos, I generally recommend to make a backup before deleting libraries etc.

• Imported Photos images do not show in Safari or iMovie unless you close the Photos and the other App - WHY?

  I used to be able to import photos into iPhoto and use them immediately in iMovie and Safari, but since one of the improvements (Yosemite or whenever replacement iPhoto Photos), if I import photos into Photos and you want to use in Safari or iMovie, I have to close the two Photos and Safari or iMovie (depending on what I want to use it in) and then restart the application (Safari or iMovie) I want to use it in.  I can't find a view-> Refresh or anything like that to make the synchronization of two.  Closing the two works like a charm, but it's a huge pain in the *.  Is there a way to get around this?  Thought Apple was smarter than this.

  I recently decided to synchronize all my photos via iCloud photo library.

  I wanted to keep the originals on my iMac but synch to my phone and iPad.

  It is not unusual for a library of this size to take so long to download or even longer without any visible progress.

  Where it is suspended?  Is the upload to iCloud photo library of your suspended Mac, or synchronization with the iPhone and the iPad?

  Is your Mac, showing a progress bar in the Photos > Preferences > iCloud? Or is passed to the progress bar?

  You can check with a smart album, if your photo library containing pictures or videos, which can not download.

  Triple-check that you set the year, month, day, and hour just fine.  Given the small fonts and the gray color scheme hard to read, it is not uncommon to miss that you have set the wrong year, for example.   If this still doesn't help, please post a screenshot of high resolution of your view of LR showing the problem. Make sure you have the date/time showing under the library thumbnails (view > View Options).  (You cannot attach the screenshot of an email response - you need to get back on the Web to download).

  I'm looking for suggestions app IOS to geotag my photos and import these data into Lightroom.  I have seen a few where it records your GPS location and then time it synchronizes with the photos you take.  I'm not 100% sure how to import these data into Lightroom, so if you could help explain it or point me in the right direction I'd appreciate it.

  This is not photo - it is a function of the viewing program (probably the finder) - once the photos are exprted form pictures you can see then in different ways which you control, Photos does not - by the finder you can view by name of son, byt several dates, by file size, etc.

  Usually, the best way to accomplish what you want is to export using the names of batch file numbeing and then sort by file name in the program viewing
