Photos on macbook pro unavailable

I can't access my photos on my macbook pro for most programs and applications. It seems that my library is not accessible by anything more to get photos. Google reader, ms outlook for mac, ms nothing for mac are examples of programs that I try to use to remove the photos.

What is happening with this terrible new photo program or feature or whatever it's called that came after the disappearance of iphoto?

No - it's your lack of having to update software

Like many new features OS in order to use fully their functions, you need to update other applications too. - any request that does not have access to media needs an update of its author browser

As a work around you can export photos from Photos in a folder on the desktop and use there

  • How to reduce the storage of photos on MacBook Pro

My photos were 87 GB of space on my MacBook Pro. I tried to reduce the space used by deleting about 1000 photos, removed about 25 projects (books, cards, etc.) and 100 to 120 videos.

I deleted all the and emptied the Recycle Bin. After this cleaning, I still 87 GB of space used by my photos. What is the problem?  How can I reduce the space used by the pictures?

I deleted all the and emptied the Recycle Bin.

Hear you emptied the album "recently deleted", because the Photos for Mac is not a trash can?

Your photo library has been migrated from iPhoto or Aperture, and do you still have your original iPhoto or Aperture library on your Mac?  Then the storage for deleted photos only comes out, after you remove the same photos in the iPhoto library or the Aperture library as well.  When the photo is migration a library it saves space by linking to the photos in the Aperture library or iPhoto library. Photos photos and your original library share the same storage on your request of hard links. There are references to files in the system, and so that the file is used by a library storage is not released. See: Photos saves disk space to share images with your iPhoto or Aperture - Apple Support libraries

If you still want to keep the original libraries, consider to move them to an external disk and remove them from your system disk.

  • My iPhone 5 s stopped automatically transfer photos to MacBook Pro

Just after that I got some 'experts' try to help me to use a new system AV, my iPhone is no longer automatically transfer my photos from iPhoto on my MacBook Pro photo stream. I got some tips on the forum that seems to work, but it has stopped working. I think that I only have a bad setting on the Mac or the iPhone. When I try to connect the two, I get a message that says "the network is not available." Can I fix it, or I have to go to the Apple Store?

On your Mac ddisable photo stream in the system/iCloud preferences window

and in the iCloud iPhoto preferences window.

Reboot and reactivate the two respectively. That should help at the start of the My photo stream.

  • How to import pictures to my library of Photos on Macbook Pro if I moved the library to an external drive to save space?

Recently, I copied my library of Photos (Yosemite version 10.10.5) on an external drive, so I can then delete it to free up disk space. I've read some older articles (a few years), because I can't find the newest, who speak of creation and management of affairs to a new library, but it does not appear to match the drop-down menus, I work with that.  I myself as much as to rename the Library copy, I still have on my Macbook Pro, but don't know what to do to go from there, since I seem to be outdated instructions.  I have not removed the library still existing on my Mac because I fear that I won't be able to undo everything I do.  Can someone enlighten me please?  Thanks in advance for your help.

Pictures always open and use the last use library - hold down the option key while launching Photos and choose the library on the EHD (note the EHD must be formatted Mac OS extended (journaled), be connected via a fast wired connection and should not be used as a backup volume Time Machine)-a complete test it and then you can remove the library on the internal disk (test once more before emptying the Recycle Bin)

  • Import videos on my iPhone as photos on macbook pro

When I import videos from my iPhone for pictures on my macbook pro, they read that the videos on my computer, but when I try to upload them to Facebook, Facebook will not identify them and shen I save on my desktop they save as a file image IMG_5438.m4v for example.  Why is this happening?  Shouldn't he 'function' when you import video from your iPhone to your macbook pro?  I don't know what to do please help!  I need to get these videos on Facebook for my direct marketing job. I spent two hours on the phone with 4 different people from Apple yesterday and they couldn't help.

Are you sure, that the file saved to the desktop is an image?. The file name extension .m4v suggests it's a video. Try to double click on it. It should play. Part e the name of the name of the file will always be IMG, when you import from an iPhone, the file name extension is what counts.

  • in the photos on macbook pro installed yosemite pictures have a letter J in the corner and I can't change them

Some of my photos have a letter "J" in the corner, and I can't change them with photo-editing tools. Someone knows why?

The letter 'J' means that the photo is part of a pair of "GROSS" and "JPEG", and the JPEG file has been selected as the original image file.  If the RAW file is selected as the original, you would see an 'R' in the corner.

What exactly happens, when you try to change these photos? You get a message from a missing file? Or what's happening?

Try to pass the original JPEG on the original RAW.  Open the image in EDIT mode, if you can and then use the command "Image > use RAW as the Original. This command is only available in edit mode.

  • If I upload my photos to the iCloud library remain my original photos on my MacBook Pro?

If I upload my photos to the iCloud library remain my original photos on my MacBook Pro?

Yes, they do. See:iCloud photo library - Apple Support

Note that if you open the Photos on your Mac and go to preferences and click on iCloud at the top of the preferences window, there are 2 options: 'Download the originals of this Mac' and 'Optimize Mac storage.' If you choose the option optimize and your Mac is low on storage space, then the originals can be replaced with smaller optimized versions.

You have placed your beam to insert at the end of your text on page 13 and then apply Insert menu: Page Break? In the v5.6.2, Pages I just add a new page to a section of four pages to this approach.

  • How to save the MacBook Pro Photo library

I am eager to help a friend to back up its Photo library of his MacBook Pro on a USB key. The Mac will be erased once the process is complete. Can someone give me a step by step guide how to keep safe all the photos of his library is supported if she can transfer it to a new Mac?

One option would be to use the Google Photos. You can download the Google Photos to your MacBook Pro and iPhone app, and it backs up all the photos. Don't have free unlimited storage so no need to worry about losing all of them.

    See photos.google.com for more information.

  • Copy and save photos from Iphoto on Macbook Pro photos

I spent hours trying to work on this simple operation, but nothing helped.

Only start just using Photos, Iphoto, etc. of cloud so jargon is a little confused and I'm a newbie to how it all works, despite searches it seems to be no simple explanation.

I think I'm the handle, but I am aware that if I uploaded my pictures from the camera to my Ipad and it goes into the Photo Album, backed up in the cloud - that if I delete it the iPad I have not these photos anywhere else and the card of the camera has been cleared.

I just want to save all the pictures that are now on my Ipad to travel (not on my camera more), backed up in the cloud — but nowhere else.  I want to be able to save copies of the size of all these photos and keep them on my Macbook Pro or backup on an external hard drive.

How can I do this?  I don't want them to end up in the Photos on my Macbook - I want just store them as a backup in images or use an external usb key to save.  Why is it so difficult?  Surely if there was the option of backup on an external hard drive, it would be much easier to use.  I am afraid that I do not trust just by using the Cloud, where I accidentally erase my iPad - I need another backup physical to be able to work with.

If your photos are now in iCloud photo library, you can download them to your computer from the web interface for iCloud.

Open a browser window on your computer and open the page web www.icloud.com.

Connect with your AppleID to iCloud.

Launch the Photos.app at this web page.

Click on "Select", and then select all the photos. Then click on the download button.

To select a range of photos at a time click on the first picture, hold down the SHIFT key, click the last photo of the range.

  • Why no iMessage send photos from my MacBook Pro?

I've got OS X El Capitan installed on my MacBook Pro and my iMessage 10.11.5 version is version 9.2.

All texts send perfectly well, but if I try to send a picture or, God forbid, a video, iMessage slows down and takes an eternity trying to download it, to eventually fail and send nothing at all. He will then proceed to deliver texts that I had put on hold after the photos / videos.

And it shows a red exclamation point next to the text containing the photograph, but once again, if I try to send it back, I realize the same frustrating result.

I have no idea of what could be the cause, since I have 35 GB free of my memory of 120 GB and all my software is up to date...

I tried to disconnect from the iMessage, quit the application, and then open it again and reconnect... Still no results.

    Help please

  • My MacBook Pro Photo app is stuck!

Hello... I have a MacBook Pro (which I love).  The other day I went to open my "Photos" application and the home page came.  I know that sometimes there are major updates if this happens.  I clicked on the button "get started" and since then he's stuck with the circling icon on the home page (don't know what it's technical term is).  I am to tinkle on the 'take a quick tour' and see the tower but other while he's stuck and it's been almost 3 days.  I have lots of pictures on my macbook and was not able to make a good backup for several months.  I'm worried that I lost all my photos.

Why it takes so long?  Any suggestions on what to do?  I tried force quitting the program and starting over.

    Help, please!

    Thank you

  • Sharing Albums not showing is not on MacBook Pro Photos

When I opened the Photos on my laptop (macbook pro), I don't see my albums shared in the left column. I have in the past, but they went. How to make a comeback? iCloud photo sharing is turned on. (Why find Photos Apple so hard when everything else is so easy?)

Check, if you shared albums hidden.  There is a "Show/hide" hidden to the right of the "Shared" title control The pointer there to reveal.

Click on 'Show', if this option is available.

If the title "Shared" does not show at all, check, if the shared Albums are enabled in your Photos > Preferences > iCloud.  If Yes, but records do not show, disable iCloud, sharing in system preferences > iCloud, then restart the Mac and reactivate the iCloud, photo sharing.
