  Assuming that you can use the "Win7 upgrade disk" to do the clean install, you MUST perform an "Advanced (custom) installation" of Win7 (which will format the HARD drive in the process, hence the need for the backup of your personal data).

  Found this solution:

  The default "Save as" dialog Acrobat DC is different from the dialogue box you had in earlier versions of Acrobat, it also allows you to record in the clouds and previous locations that you saved the files. It is possible that when Acrobat tries to connect to the 'cloud', it runs into problems.   Yes, I tried everything above, and none of it seemed to work.  The only thing that would work was to SFW .gif or .jpg (would not allow png).  However, after recording the second layer as a gif, overall the program has frozen and I was unable to recover.  Well... here again!  (maybe I can convince my boss to upgrade to CS5).
