Photoshop CS5 Shuts Down to file > automate > batch

I use Photoshop CS5 on a PC with Windows XP pro, Core 2 Duo E4400@2GB, 4 GB DDR2 RAM, MSI MS7350 Mainboard, ATI Radion X 1050 map graphic, 1 analog LCD display and digital one. I use a blank 1 TB drive for a scratch disk.

My Photoshop CS5 works perfectly UNTIL I try to batch-process anything. If I go into file > automation > Photomerge, no problem, but when I go to file > PLC > lots, the second I hit the jackpot, I get an error message telling me that Windows has to close Photoshop. I never had this problem with CS4, I never deleted and must use when batch processing. What gives?

If I do that, I won't be able to run my scanner software! Is there a TWAIN driver that will not crash it when I try to batch?

  • Photoshop crashes when you select file / automate / batch

Photoshop users always need a fix for Photoshop crashing every time they choose batch.

I understand that Adobe staff has chosen drivers scanner to blame for the problem. And I have read the discussions through last year (very long and annoying when all you want is a fix). But I'm not set on several things that do not add to the top.

First of all, I'll go through the symptoms, for the sake of all readers. Photoshop users have reported Photoshop crashing when they select file / automate / lots on the menu for years. This problem has gotten a lot worse (widespread) since the release of version 12.0.4. The problem affects apparently only those whose Train compatible scanners and who installed optional Twain from Macromedia. I never read how someone came to this conclusion, but the drivers scanner are being blamed. The accepted workaround solution is to disable or remove Twain from Macromedia.

Secondly, I would like to point out that Photoshop works normally when you use the Twain plugin. I can scan pictures and they are imported directly into Photoshop without any problem. It was the case before the 12.0.4 updated and always is the case at present.

Thirdly, I want to ask my question most pressing. That by selecting 'Batch '.... "has he to do with the drivers scanner? In other words, what possibly could Photoshop do with drivers to scan when selecting 'Batch '.... "it does not when in fact uses the drivers?

Finally, I'll point out that I am a developer of software over 30 years. So I understand how it could somehow work in the details that the source of the problem is really drivers scanner buggy. However, as a programmer with a lot of experience dealing with common problems in device driver API, I know that good practice is to wait for something. If Photoshop starts a process that calls for someone to another software API, it should amortize this call with appropriate exception error handling. All processes must run with a claim "if all else fails.

    > Whatever by selecting 'Batch '.... "has to do with drivers scanner?

When you run the actions for the Batch command, updates to Photoshop it's State control/menu to see what commands are enabled or disabled depending on the State of the document changed by actions.  This update appealed at the interface of scanning to see what is available or not, and at that time, some drivers crash.  Since the accident happens in the third-party code running in the context of Photoshop - it there was not much Photoshop can do to get it back (there are exceptions, but it could not work beyond the limits of the OS and DLLS).

In Photoshop CS6, we spent a little time to find out why they were crashing (apparently there was some assumption on the State of the GUI application) and how we could avoid if crush in these circumstances - and now CS6 avoids accidents in the Batch command even with the TWAIN plugin and drivers are loaded.

  • Photoshop Cs5 does not download - file damaged or corrupted.

So, I have an old laptop Windows I got a full version of Photoshop CS5 Extended installed on. I recently bought a new Mac laptop, and I want to move my software. However, when I tried to install CS5 from this page - Download Adobe Creative Suite 5 products - I received a message saying that the file is damaged or corrupted and I had eject the disk file. Please help me with this, I need my software to work as soon as possible. It's embarrassing and I'd appreciate any help.

You do not put diesel in a petrol car, and you cannot install of Windows programs on a Mac... unless you want to install a "emulator" on your Mac to run Windows programs

Even if you download a Mac version, your serial number for Windows will not work, and CS5 is too old for Adobe to do a platform Exchange

You can buy CS6 and use your CS5 for upgrade pricing - link to buy the CS6 via phone http://www.adobe.com/products/cs6.html

In ADDITION, to install the old software on a new Mac, you will need to read below

  • I can't have my photoshop cs5 read my raw files 7200 Nikon

can someone help me with photoshop cs5 does not read my raw Nikon 7200 files

    Hi laurelj,

So that Photoshop to read Nikon 7200 files, you must be at least Camera Raw 9.0

Please read the article for camera supported: supported by Adobe Camera Raw devices

So if you want to use Nikon 7200 files, you can use DNG Converter.

Windows: Adobe - Adobe Camera Raw and DNG Converter: for Windows
MAC: Adobe - Adobe Camera Raw and DNG Converter: for Macintosh

  • Photoshop CS5 crashes when opening files. Help?

I read previous discussions, but have not been able to deduce what I have to do. Help, please!

    Here's where I am.

I downloaded the demo of photoshop CS5 2 weeks 30. for the first week, I worked in photohop every day and had no problem open and edit psd files.

I have not used photoshop for next week.

I went back to Photoshop (nothing has changed on the config of my h/w or s/w in the meantime), and it repeatedly crashes whenever I try to open a psd file.

Ive been deleted and the file preferences - no effect.

I am running CS5 on a dell optiplex PC with windows XP

Why this is happening, and what should I do then?

I noticed that they have not done a new version of the trial version as well.  No explanation was offered for this.

OK, try to disable all third-party plugins and try again.

After that, try to disable the plugins of the extension, and then try again.

If it were a widespread problem, I think that we would be heard on this topic from users more.

If my guess is it's something to do with your system or configuration.

  • Photoshop CS5 anyone not mp4 files?

    Hello world

I tried literally everything, but I'm really confused right now. Photoshop will not import mp4 or any other file, it accepts that the container files . avi

It's a pain to convert each avi file if I want to use Import > video frames to layers.

I have already installed Quicktime Pro, but that doesn't seem to work.

    Can someone help me please?

Photoshop should be able to open anything QuickTime can read, because we use QuickTime to interpret video files.

  • Photoshop CS5 will close when you select "file-automate-lot."

    I use Adobe Photoshop CS5 (v12.0.4 x 32) under Windows XP Pro SP3. When I select 'File-automate-batch', a window pops up saying:

Adobe Photoshop CS5 has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

The choice to pursue are 'Send error report' or 'do not send' but with a selection, Photoshop quits. This happens even with no open images.

What should I do to fix this?

Thanks to anyone who can help me.

To read the different posts on this problem, the answer seems to remove the plugin Twain solves the problem

or maybe update your drivers to scan. You have installed the optional Twain plug-in in photoshop cs5?

  • Frame7.1 will not import Photoshop CS5.1 .jpg file

I'm (reluctantly) in the migration process from Windows XP +.

Photoshop CS V8.0 for Windows 7/64 bit + Photoshop CS5.1.

FrameMaker 7.1 works well on XP and W7/64, including the generation

PDF file. I can import .jpg files written by Photoshop CS. etc.

    ... except...

If I open a (already imported) .jpg file checked using Photoshop

CS5.1 and, without making any changes, save it, Framemaker may not

more import it, either directly or by reference:

"The filter has encountered an error and could not complete the.

    translation. "

It seems that the Photoshop CS5.1 writes a file format different .jpg

Photoshop CS (rhetoric: How can it be acceptable for CS5.1 to)

change the format of a Basic .jpg file? but I digress...).

Review the .jpg file original vs the .jpg file of CS5 I think:

-The new file is smaller (79KB vs 82KO) - Note the two are small!

-Content (reviewed by using a binary editor) is quite different.

-Two versions of the same view, in CS and CS5.1 and in

    many viewers.

I tried various experiments, try to understand this and have

had no luck. I can open the CS5 Photoshop CS .jpg file and save it

Once again but Framemaker will not open this version or the other, same error.

This isn't a question of size of RAM (8GB), to space swap or something else

associated with computer equipment. All SW updates are up-to-date, etc..

I have tried to import into a new, by default the template file, etc.

So, I tried recording in .bmp format and the first time I tried to import it

FrameMaker died immediately: no trace of the stack, no error message, the

Framework process had just disappeared. After the reboot, the 2nd attempt, I got one

black rectangle size correct, but all black = not usable.

Photoshop CS + Framemaker has worked well for several years, so I don't know

It is a question of CS5.

Anyone has any ideas on how to make CS5.1 to generate a file .jpg 'standard '.

    file?

Anyone has any ideas on how to import images CS5.1 using

    FrameMaker 7.1?

Please don't advocate the Framemaker to V10 upgrade... Adobe provides a zero

information on migration (from any version) and the last time that we did

This cost us several months of work to 'fix' 14 + 50 pages +.

manuals. We'll stay with XP/CS and 'eat' the new W7/CS5 system

    before FM10.

    Thank you

    Previously (all works)

    Windows XP/SP3

    Photoshop CS V8.0

    Today:

    Windows 7/64-bit SP1

    Photoshop CS5.1

    7.1P116, unstructured FrameMaker

I'm embarrassed... I should have tried more of .jpg and .bmp.

I went to .tif and select .jpg compression and

    (a) I can import the file

    (b) the file is only slightly larger (92 KB vs 82 KB)

    (c) renders it same as before in the PDF file.

  • Photoshop CS5 installation error "Archive part missing.

Download Photoshop CS5 consists of two files: a .exe and the other .7z. I downloaded both, but when I try to run the .exe file it gives the error message "Archive part missing. • Photoshop CS5 - moving temp.

    Hello

How can I decide where Photoshop CS5 'save' the temp. files?

You're stuck with the root directory of the hard drive that you choose, I'm afraid.

And if you want to say, literally, a Windows 7 library, I would advise to stay away from them.  They are simply not well integrated with the system and I read that Photoshop does not work well with them (although to be honest I have no personal experience trying to use Photoshop with a library, because I followed my own advice).
