  When you restart the computer, you mean "Restart" of the machine or do you want to say "shut down" and turn it back on to start.

  I ask this because in Windows reboot means restarting and you get this from the power button by selecting restart.  Also, in 10 Windows updates are required and they are installed without knowledge of the user but restarting does not automatically apply all the correctl patches; y. so if you restart the computer, we can eliminate this problem completely and move on to another test.

  The test another that I have is to reset the PSE14 preferences file, do you up the home screen then pressing 'CTRL + ALT + SHIFT' and clicking on the Button Editor.  This invites you to delete the preferences file before starting the editor.

  I have a full version of the first elements of Photoshop Elements 10 on DVD. My computer is running Windows XP SP3 with updates. After almost completely finished the installation, the installer will give an error message and roll back the installation. The error message is "the installation process has encountered an error when installing Shared Technologies. The log file says:

  I read most of the forum posts that mention rollback (also for PSE9) and I have tried most of the recommendations, but nothing seems to help, so I would appreciate some advice.

  I did some further testing and finally succeeded! The problem apparently was with Adobe AIR.

  So far, I was focused on the Camera Raw 64-bit error messages, but then I read in the older posts that these messages are not necessarily fatal. Then, I noticed that the installation of the Adobe help also gave error messages in the log file, which specifically mentions the Restore action:

  I have already noted some time before this PSE10/PRE10 facility that help Adobe Community Help in my existing installation of PSE9/PRE9 gave error messages after trying to update itself. Also Adobe AIR, which runs to Adobe Community Help do not update itself as well. So I decided to first address this problem. Also, I was not able to uninstall Adobe AIR and Adobe Community Help so I have used the online Microsoft Fixit to do this and it worked perfectly for both!

  Then I re-installed the latest version of Adobe AIR and the Adobe Community Help service. Now, aid has worked and it also update itself again. At this point, I ran the PSE10 installer again and he is now complete. Note that 64-bit code error messages are still there in the log file, but they were apparently not fatal.

  Finally, I would like to thank everyone who responded to my original announcement. Although I found the solution myself, your suggestions helped me to think clearly and motivated me to Pierce this debugging session.

It came preloaded with Windows 7 Home Premium, as well as MS Office 2010 (remember not a trial version). However, after the laptop reset if Windows has been restored, the copy of MS Office has not been restored. Given that I don't have product key of handy th with me, not able to restore the same. Please guide.

  I have tried for at least two weeks get an answer to this problem and have been unable to find someone at Adobe to help me.  It's really incredible, but true. Motherboard on my laptop has stopped working and has been replaced. After installing a new map parent elements kept insisting that I needed to purchase the program, but I have already bought.   The complete backup folder has what appears to be a copy of everything in my catalog.  There is even a file named catalog.buc.

  Does anyone know a way I can recover my catalog file?

  In short, your files are still where they were on the same computer (no change for the reader) and you have a backup without a "backup.tly" file folder If this file is missing, which means that the backup was not successful; the .tly file is the last created when everything is saved in the backup folder, and the best way to verify that a backup is good is to check the presence of this file. Without it, the normal restore process is impossible.

  Since you have a "catalog.buc" of PSE11, this file is a copy renamed your database file 'catalog.pse11db '.

  Create a folder somewhere, like "my catalog restored", place a copy of the catalog.buc and rename it to catalog.pse11db.

  PSE14, try the button "convert" in Catalog Manager after having sailed to the new folder.

  No guarantee that it will work, but it's quick and easy to try.

  Get you most of your tagging, but not face recognition or some other features.

  I downloaded Photoshop elements 11 (update) after purchase and then tried to install.

  I get the page OK license agreement,

  Enter the serial number - I get a green check mark.

  I enter Adobe ID and password, and it is authenticated,

  then the Option Page.  Product "Photoshop elements...". "is displayed with an icon and a check mark gray in the left column.

  "Adobe Photoshop Elements...". "in the right column, but"All components"is grayed out and cannot be clicked.

  I tried to click on the "Photoshop elements...". "but nothing happens

  The install button is NOT grayed

  If I click the button install, nothing happens - I hear nothing - no indication of error, nothing - it will click but nothing happens.

  Thanks Jeff, but it requires only the serial number current - which I know is not right.

  I had to install, however, by going manually and remove all references to Adobe from my system.  The installation program does not properly handle an exception and fails.  Sorry, it's a bug.  The file in question was apparently in application support/Adobe.   In my case, I have not re - install an add-on product to make sure everything is still working.  The fact that it has installed an update without having to ask a previous serial number is more a bug - maybe the same bug not completely cleaned.   My opinion is that they need to trouble the installer or offer a cleaning product - maybe there is a vacuum cleaner, but I did know about this.  I'm marking as complete, but developers have clearly a job here.  Maybe it's not possible to handle each exception - I can accept that too.
