  • "Adobe Photoshop has stopped working".

Problem #1: Yesterday, out of the blue, when I tried to open Photoshop CS5.1, I got a pop up insisting I install Photoshop Extended. I have never possessed enlarged so the pop up makes no sense. I could leave the installation license agreement / expanded, but whenever I clicked on the icon Photoshop Extended installation would open again. In other words, there is no way that I could get into my version of Photoshop.

Problem #2: Adobe Support told me to uninstall Photoshop, use the clean tool Adobe and reinstall my original Photoshop, I did. However, now when I try to enter in Photoshop, I always have the same mistake during startup: "Adobe Photoshop CS5.1 has stopped working". I tried to reset the preferences outside of photoshop, but nothing works.

I'm on Windows 10. There were no changes to my system recently. My graphics card drivers are up to date.

    UPDATE:

I checked my event viewer and all accidents indicate that the fault is caused by "adobe_caps.dll. How to solve this? I installed clean twice already.

After losing a lot a lot of painful hours and days (not to mention money); Once Adobe phone conversations, many private messages and time of the Adobe technicians remote access to my computer, no solution has been found.

I have now deleted from my computer, reinstalled Windows and all of my Adobe software and began again. For now at least, I can now open new Photoshop as well as the CC and After Effects desktop application.

    I hope it lasts...

If anyone has this problem, I suggest you wipe you computer and try again.  Save yourself time and mental health.

  • Old Photoshop has stopped working. Dead.

4 Photoshop came 14 years ago with a scanner fancy shmancy and it worked very well in recent years on VISTA.

One day a few weeks back he just stopped.  He hung trying to open. No virus, no system, no contradictory process update. I checked everything. He just stopped.

So I uninstalled and went to reinstall. I put the CD. By clicking on the install photoshop button the hourglass has been a bit, and then cut. The other menu buttons on the CD splash screen worked fine. Other CD worked fine. I downloaded the demo for CS6 and that works fine as well.

But I can't afford CS6 and frankly it has more things in what I need.  This Photoshop 4 was legitimate and suitable for my needs, but somewhere in his programming, deep in the registry, something said "OK 4 years on this computer is sufficient and 14 years on everything that's enough ' and disabled the product.  The only thing that makes sense.

I don't think that's true. The full version is a full version. At least offer an old release for those left behind. A CS3 or CS5 would be more what to do... unless someone knows what to reset this CD?

He knows happen? Thanks for any idea.

Thank you. bases covered: answer 3 re elements (without layers without alpha channel). Answer 8 on the run as an administrator. Answer 1 re test (turn into a pumpkin week next on this one.) I always like CS5 to work better). I did all this and much more. It's still weird that the CD wont even work to install it but I can't install other progs etc. Ran cc cleaner too.

Thanks for this btw move. When I first registered, he asked me to post but don't (on my screen) allows me to choose a Board.

  • Cc 2014 Photoshop has stopped working

If anyone can help, it indicates a problem caused blocking the program works correctly. Windows will... inform you if a solution is available, should I uninstall and then try and download? Is this possible with cc? Thank you

Yes, it will be. You can skip this step if you would like, it should work without running the cleanup tool. If it fails, it will be the next step.

In the last two weeks, I installed Lightroom (current version: 5.7.1) on a new All-In-One(Model No. 27-p014) HP Envy 2734 with Windows 10.

It worked fine until today, when all of a sudden, when I tried to import a recent work, I got the above message. After several tests (and failures), I thought using the system restore and reset the unit to the settings of this morning, thinking the problem might be related to an update from HP that I had downloaded all that little before import (improved performance .NET Application - CPS).

    No luck.

    Hello
Welcome to the Microsoft community. Sorry for the delay in responding. The problem is specific to the Adobe Photoshop Light room? Do the other application run without any problem? What version of Windows operating system is installed?

  • "Adobe Photoshop cc has stopped working" when I click on an adjustment layer

I get this message "Adobe Photoshop CC has stopped working".

I've done everything there is on the help site. Still no luck. Here's what happens:

Photoshop opens and I can work with it. It seems that almost all functions work perfectly, HOWEVER... When I try to access an adjustment layer, say the levels, then Photoshop will stop. Strangely, if I select the black & white adjustment layer, it WORKS? The OTHERS don't.

    Cheers, Craig

    Hi Craig,.

Please provide a detailed account of your question. You, the efforts are very much appreciated!

I imagine the inconvenience that you are experiencing and will certainly help you in the right direction to solve the problem. However, I would be grateful if you could answer a few questions to refine the question in order to provide you with better assistance.

    a. you did any important changes made to the computer just before the problem occurred?

    b. what fixit did you run, when you say "Run FIXIT"?

You have tried most of the linear troubleshooting, it can be concluded that the question could arise also following a conflict of third-party software that impede the performance of Adobe Photoshop CC. To diagnose the problem, I would suggest trying the following methods and check if the problem persists.

    Method 1:

It is possible that the application has not been uninstalled properly and have hampered after the new installation. I suggest to try to start the next fixit and then try to install the program Photoshop CC.

The problems that the programs cannot be installed or uninstalled

If the problem persists, try the following method.

    Method 2:

The question could also arise due to a conflict of third-party software, so, I would be as you suggest clean boot of the system once and then try to install the program in a boot environment.

Place your system in the clean boot state helps determine if third-party applications or startup items are causing the problem. You must follow the steps in the article mentioned below to perform a clean boot.
How to perform a clean boot in Windows

If the problem does not occur in the boot, you can determine which applications and services on the computer is causing this issue.

Note: See "how to reset the computer to start normally after a boot minimum troubleshooting" to prepare the computer to start as usual after a repair.

Hope this information is useful. Let us know if you need more help, we will be happy to help you.

  • Photoshop CC 2015.5 has stopped working error

When I try from PS I get the message "Adobe Photoshop CC 2015.5 has stopped working" no other information or number error message is presented.adobe error.JPG

Yesterday, I upgraded to Windows Pro 10 for updates later, all the CC app to the latest version and update of Norton anti-virus and PS has worked all day.

Today (24/09/16) I had to update Norton AntiVirus with an update that requires a restart.  I don't know if it's related to Norton (I don't) and I now GET the message that it has stopped working.

I took the measures following, based on suggestions from the forum

    -re-installed PS

    -disabled graphics card

    -run cccleaner.exe

    s ' install sniffer.exe desktop

    -rebooted PC many times.

-ran creative cloud as an administrator

    -Rename the file librarylookup

-tried to start in safe mode with network

-connected with the new user account

Any of these would start the PS eventually.  Any suggestions?

    Have you tried disabling Norton?

Go to the Windows search bar and type "Reliability monitor" and choose "view reliability history" (control of configuration\systeme and Security\Security and Maintenance\Reliability monitor). Find the most recent crash of Photoshop, then choose "show technical details." Copy and paste the report here in its entirety.
