  • No given solutions have set the 80070002 error when searching for updates

Hello, I made a comment on this post , but got no response, and I thought of making a whole new discussion was needed to really find someone who knows how to solve this problem. I suffer from the same problem as the person who posted that - whenever I try to search for Windows updates, it fails and gives Error 80070002. I tried all the simple solutions that are posted on the sites Web de Microsoft, and none of them have worked so far. As I mentioned on the linked post, while manually resetting Windows Update components, some DLLs gave me errors when I tried to register them in the registry.

These all told me the module has been loaded, but Windows could not find DllRegisterServer...

    Mshtml.dll
    Shdocvw.dll
    Browseui.dll
    MSXML.dll
    qmgr.dll

... While they all told me the impossible load module.

    Gpkcsp.dll
    Sccbase.dll
    Slbcsp.dll
    initpki.dll
    wuaueng1.dll
    wuweb.dll
    c:\windows\system32\muweb.dll

Is there another possible solution that I can try? It is very important for me to solve because I have some reason to believe the failure of Windows updates is also preventing me to install updates required for Visual Studio and its distribution of C++, even manually, but I don't want to digress too evil.

    METHOD 1

Use the following tutorial to reset Windows updates completely and check if it helps:

    Full updates to reset Windows

    If this does not help:

    You now have two options:

    • Do a system restore and go back to date on updates worked.
    • Upgrade repair that keeps everything and installs windows.

I can provide you the steps for the 2nd.

The foregoing, notwithstanding your log shows: the suggestion, at least, dangerous file sharing P2P; the presence of an infection by the W32/Istbar-Variant; an incomplete uninstall of an application for McAfee; a version of IE7, which dates back to the release of Vista gold * a year ago * and should NOT be in

Vista SP1 (which suggests other problems, perhaps in relation to your installation of Vista in the Virtual Machine and a pirated version of Vista); and maybe a compromise of IE8 Beta 1 installation.

    Hello
You can follow the steps and then check.

    Step 1:
You can try to disable the antivirus installed on your computer software.
You can see the following link.
    Disable the anti-virus software
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/disable-antivirus-software

NOTE: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

    Step 2:
You can try to reset the Windows Update components. Read the following article.
How to reset the Windows Update components?
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/971058

    It will be useful.
