Photosmart 5520 print wireless

I just bought a Photosmart 5520 and I can't print wireless. My Mac OSX 10.8 computer he straightens and the printer is recongising the IP address of my computer, but when I feel goes into the printer icon in my dock and just said "Ready to print" and nothing happens. I checked the IP address of the printer to my router and it's a number at the end... 9 instead of 8. What is the question? How can I fix it?

Remove the printer in Control Panel > printers & devices.

Now, add again in this way:

1. make sure the printer is on and connected to your network. Verify that you can access the printer's internal web page by accessing its IP address before continuing. Get his IP address for a network Test printed on the front of the printer.
2. click on > start > Control Panel > devices & Printers.
3. click on add a printer
4. Select local printer
5. Select create a new port and select Standard TCP/IP Port, and click Next.
6. under device type, select TCP/IP Device. Under the name of host or IP address, enter the IP address of the printer. Click Next.
7. Select Hewlett-Packard in the list of manufacturers and select and select your printer model. Click Next.
If your printer model is not in the list, then select disk provided, browse the CD that came with your HP printer and select the first file begins with hp and ending with INF. click Open, then OK. Select your printer model. Click Next.
8. If prompted, use the driver that is currently installed.
9. He will ask the name of the printer - enter a new name or use the one existing. This will be the name of the printer that you select from other applications.
10. we may ask you to share the printer. Choose No.
11. the printing area of Test Page is displayed. Go ahead and print it out.
12. click on finish.

"scan of the computer is currently unavailable" can you please help

Hello @suemickand welcome to the Forums of HP, I hope you enjoy your experience!

I see that you have connectivity problems. I would like to help!

I would recommend starting with a power reset.  Unplug the power cord from the printer and the power outlet, then wait 60 seconds. After 60 seconds, plug back in the printer. Make sure that you connect the printer directly to a wall outlet. Make sure to bypass any surge protector or power bar.

I also recommend to download and run the HP print and Scan Doctor.

Good luck and please let me know the results of your troubleshooting operations. Thanks for posting on the HP Forums!

for some reason any my new printer HP Photosmart 5520 stopped working while we were on vacation for a long weekend. Now, I can't bring him back on three computers to which it was connected wireless. I was able to reconnect to the office back in, but it doesn't seem to recognize our 2 Windows 7 laptops and a MacBook Pro.

Not sure why that would be a problem of Windows/Microsoft.

My suggestion would be to reset the printer and reconfigure.  It's all HP.

Uninstall all the drivers/software installed on all computers in the printer (HP).

Follow the instructions given by (you guessed it) HP to connect to the printer via it's now the IP address wireless on any operating system that you use on different systems.

  • HP Photosmart 5520: Printer prints blank pages suddenly

Yesterday, my printer decided that he would simply print blank pages with a black line in the middle. I did a test print via the configuration menu and it prints fine. My wife can print wireless. And until yesterday I had no problem.

On and off, but today, I have the same problem. Help?

    Hi @StuartY123,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

I see you are having problems printing from your Mac to your printer HP Photosmart 5520, but your wife is able to print correctly. I'd be happy to help you and don't forget to come back to this thread and check "Accept as Solution", if I have successfully helped solve you the problem. If you want to say 'Thank you' to my effort to help, click on the "thumbs up" to give me a Kudos.

Looks like there is something wrong with the print on your Mac driver. To resolve this problem, we will need refresh your printing system and re - add the printer driver.

    Reset the printing system:

To begin, I will have you reset the printing system on your Mac. Please click herefor instructions on how to perform the reset. When the site opens, follow the steps under"Reset printing in OS X Lion system" because the steps are the same for Mac OS X 10.10. This Reset deletes each printer on your Mac. However, it does not uninstall printers. Therefore, if use you other printers on the Mac, once the reset is complete simply make sure printers are attached via a USB cable or connected network and (+) add hide them po do add not your HP Photosmart back in right now.

Once the reset is complete, proceed to the next step.

Check and repair your Mac disk permissions:

    1. Open Macintosh HD and go to Applications
    2. Go to the Utilities folder
    3. Open disk utility
    4. Select the hard disk volume, you use (usually on the left)
    5. Select verify disk permissions
    6. Once this process is complete, select repair disk permissions

    Add device:
    1. click on the menu of Apple , then Preferences System.

    2. click on print and scan and then check if the name of your printer appears in the printer list.

    3. click on the name of your printer, click the sign minus (), then remove the printer.

    4. click on the plus sign (), click Add a printer or a Scanner, click the name of your printer.

    5. click on the area of use or with the help of Print and then select the name of your printer on the shortcut menu. Ensure that the driver of the HP Photosmart camera is selected.

    6. click Add to add the printer to the list. Do not add the AirPrint driver.

Once your printer is properly added to, please try printing again to verify that the problem is now resolved.

  • HP Photosmart 5520: Printer crashes. Error B81605BE.

Today, my new HP Photosmart 5520 arrived. I took it out of the box, the driver installed and it works. After connecting to the wireless router, it gave a blue screen. Error message: B81328F0. After a second, this screen disappears and the printer tells me to put it off and on again. And this happens over and over again.

Actually, I threw my HP Photosmart 6510 last week, because he had the same problem (only with the B81605BE error code).

Someone at - it ideas about what is happening here?

The firmware update does not solve it either, I went to the store and bought a new router. I then put in place a new Wi - Fi network, which is connected to it and... It works like a charm.

So apparently the router that gave me my provider is not able to communicate with printers (HP?) ... Lesson learned.

    HI @mmcclaf,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

I see that you are unable to print black on your printer HP Photosmart 5520. I'd be happy to help you and don't forget to come back to this thread and check "Accept as Solution", if I have successfully helped solve you the problem. If you want to say 'Thank you' to my effort to help, click on the "thumbs up" to give me a Kudos.

I understand the frustration you feel. First, we determine if you are experiencing a hardware problem or software. I believe that the print head might be clogged, please follow the steps below to help you determine the cause.

I would like to try the steps in this guide: printer prints a blank Page or not printed in black or color ink.

    • If the test page prints in black stop here!
    • If the test page doesn't print in black continue.

Is the printer during the warranty period? If so, I suggest that you contact HP. I've included the contact information below.

If the printer is not covered by the warranty, you can always try a manual cleaning print head, as shown in the video below. Please use at your own discretion.

NOTE: HP Photosmart 5510 doesn't have a removable customer printhead as your 5520. This video shows how to remove and clean.

Video: HP 5510 will not print black and color - print head removed and cleaned.

  • Photosmart 5520: Printer Printing slowly from Word

My printer started to print slowly.  I printed a printer status report and comes out at normal - as speed does a test page sent from my PC.

But when I print from Word, it has a little break between each line of prints.  I think the problem is, therefore, with Word, but where do I start to fix?

    see you soon

    Hi @arghhhhhhhhhh,

    Welcome to the HP Forums!

I see that your HP Photosmart 5520 is slowly printing from Word on Windows 8.1. I'm happy to help you with this printing problem!

For further testing, what happens when you print from Notepad?

By the sounds of it, no doubt looks like the problem is in the word. Have you tried to open a new Word file and copy and paste the content in there? Perhaps a document has been altered somehow.

Another suggestion is to try our HP print and Scan Doctor, to see if there is some driver conflicts.

Thanks for posting and have a great day!

  • PhotoSmart 5520 print at low resolution

Just bought a new printer (Photosmart 5520) but when I print images from the proselect, they come out very low resolution. It is not the proselect as print images in high resolution to my old printer (Photosmart C4480) using exactly the same page, put in place and print settings.

It is not that the new printer can print high resolution image they come out very well if I print from Windows Explorer. I use Windows 7.

    Any ideas appreciated!

    Hi Paul,.

It seems that the problem is caused by a driver compatibility problem.  I'd like you try to change the driver of another driver, such as the HP Deskjet 9800 driver to see if printing even issue follows or is fixed.

  • Cannot use our new HP Photosmart B210e printer wireless with HP ePrint server.

We bought a new printer HP B210e for our House to be able to print wireless smartphones, laptops and desktop. The first problem was that our main office, which is about 3 years old and under XP would not find the wireless printer. I contacted HP and after several hours, they changed my desktop to be able to see the printer. Alongside this, they configure the printer to have a fixed ip address.

It worked well, but I still cannot print from the photo tray. My wife's office has also had the same problem, but we will stop using this office. Not something we want, but she has a laptop computer.

The main feature that we wanted to use had to be able to send an e-mail to our printer through the HP eprint center. Who has worked on the first day, we have signed, but has not worked since. It seems that our printer cannot connect to the HP eprint center at all. We can send e-mail to our printer through the eprint server. We can see that the e-mail message has reached the server, but the server cannot transfer the email of the printer. We check the Setup wireless on our printer and it is correctly connected to our home network and I can print wireless from my office.

We're fast approaching the decision of the printer to where we bought it. We do not want to, but have no choice unless we can understand how to print from our smart phones.

So I ask for help with the printer or a recommendation on which printer you can buy that actually work on our network wireless home. I tried to find what printer is best for this purpose on the Internet but find that there, the information is just too complicated for us to make a decision.

PS: I see too many complaints about the HP ePrint Center, but very little about HP trying to fix or even acknowledge that they have a problem. I think they do!

I can't comment on the ePrintCenter (maybe it's temporarily down?) but I know that your printer is capable of printing from an iPhone or an iPad... your smartphone you happens to be an iPhone 3GS or 4? If so, you can use the last iOS4.2 that supports AirPrint and print directly to your printer. As long as your iPhone and your printer are both connected to the same network, that is. I hope this helps.

  • Photosmart 5520-printing from browser job queued sticks

Running Windows 7 32 bit home edition and I am trying to print 9 Explorered Internet consistatnly.

Since the purchase and installation of the 5520 printer, I've been running the questions where the jobs are in a print status in the queue but nothing comes out of the printer.  The printer is configured to print from WiFi and happens on all 3 of my computers.  I need to remove the task from the queue and then stop and restart the spooler before work service removes it from the queue.  I can print from Word, Excel and other applications, but when printing from the browser it happens at least once a day.  I would say that if a website has a button "print" the problem does not occur, but when you select just print in the menu of the browser, it happens more often.

It becomes very annoying and would like this to be resolved.  This never happened with my Canon Pixma printer that has replaced this printer.  I ran the HP printer diagostics and there no question.

The problem is caused by a conflict pilot between IE 9 and the print driver. The solution is to uninstall IE 9 and use IE 8. Normally, this solves the problem. If this isn't something you want to do, there are other options. First of all, you can try using another web browser. I'll include links to Firefox and Chrome downloads. Another of the options, is that you can try to use a different printer driver. I would add as well the instructions below. Hope that helps.

    Firefox:
    http://goo.GL/7ICv2

    Chrome:
    http://goo.GL/MAqrN

To use a different print driver for printers HP with Windows 7:
    1. click on the start menu.
    2 click devices and printers.
    3. right click on your printer.
    4. Select printer properties.
    5. click on the Advanced tab.
    6. click on new driver.
    7. click on next.
    8. Select HP in the first list.
    9. Select Deskjet 450 in the second.
    10. click Next.
    11. click on finish.
    12. click on apply.
    13. click OK to close the window.

  • HP photosmart 5520 print do not correctly even with new ink

I replaced the ink of color and black ink (364 cartridges). I have no error message or anything of what I see wrong. It is a wireless printer and when I print it always printed as ink cartridges are empty. Especially the black, when you're printing is a pinkish color. I took the cartridges and replace them in numerous amounts of times, and it seems to always print the same way. I don't know how to check the printer heads to see if it is causing the problem.
