• Photosmart 6510e scanning/copying issues

  I have a photosmart 6510e. Whenever I try to scan or copy, all I get are vertical multicolored. I just bought the product at the beginning of August. My software has been installed by best buy. When I tried to print at home, the printer did not work. I reinstalled the new software and managed the printer to the network. However, can't do anything but multicolored vertical when I scan or try to copy. Any suggestions?

  If you get vertical lines on scans and copies usually the cleaning scanner glass usually fixes the problem.  I've included a useful document , which you can use to aid in the cleaning of the glass.

  I noticed your post on the scans of your Photosmart 6510, scan to your system from Vista in black and white. I want to offer my suggestions to you to see if they can help you with this.

  First of all, try to launch the HP print and Scan Doctor who is used to fix the printing and scanning problems. You choose the option "Scanning" when the tool is run. It will inform you if the software is completely installed, or if there is a problem, it can not correct. If it detects an error and shows you a red 'X', I suggest then uninstall and reinstall.

  Thanks for posting on the HP Forums!

  To turn off the demo on the printer mode, you will need to press the Setup (wrench) icon in the upper right of the printer.  Once in the Setup menu, press 'tools '.  Scroll down and you should be able to press "démo Mode" and turn it off.

  I assume you are using the printer on a Macintosh, envoirnment? Please correct me otherwise.

  The workflow default scanning set up to scan documents in black and white. Be sure to change the settings for scanning to scan color documents:

  If your version of OS X 10.7, be sure to install the critical update below. Skip this step for any other version of OS X.

  Now change the settings of the device as follows:
  1 open the HP utility and select your device.
  2. based on Scan Settings open the "Scan to Computer".
  3. click on the tab scan tasks.
  4. Select the affected shortcut and click on change... (or double-click on the shortcut).
  5. in the section of scanning from an HP device, click the blue triangle to expand the menu.
  6. in the expanded menu now, open the drop-down next to the Mode
  7. now select the color option, and then click OK to save the changes. The next scanned using this workflow is displayed in color.

• Photosmart 6510e cannot print a "screen shot" on ordinary A4 paper?

  Hi all, my laptop is down, using an iPad2 I can print with airprint perfectly ok on a4 paper. I select a file of my photo iPads stream, it's obviously a picture, but it is a screenshot and I want not printed on paper a4 ordinary, my 6510 insists on put me a paper size photo glossy, so he usually print anything on paper ordinary a4! Maybe I should add the printer is brand new and I just took it out of the box afterwards, I tried to print the same photo with eprint, same result, why can't print a photo on A4 size paper? Please Tim

  Hi TIMMYTOAD,

  A screenshot is an image.  If you paste the image into an email and send it to an ePrint printer which has a tray photo, the default is to print the image to the photo tray even if it was stuck in an email.  There is no way to change the settings.  I hope this helps.

• Photosmart 6510e wireless radio does not

  So far, I've only used the printer connected to a PC with a USB cable. I wanted to be able to print wireless with a laptop and tried to change the configuration of the printer by using the utility in the Help Center.

  I received a message that the connection could not be made and to contact HP support. Unfortunately the warranty failed in September last without having tried me the wireless connection.

  From the screen of the printer, I printed Test results wireless network which said that ATTENTION the wireless radio does not work. Contact HP support.

  This would involve replacing a part and how big a job is? I did a number of repairs on the equipment myself before.

  Please try the below mentioned steps...

  1 > while the printer is turned on, button on the wireless on the screen of the printer icon.

  2 > then press the DEFAULT NETWORK

  3 > after awhile, turn the printer off. Wait 30 seconds. Power to the printer.

  4 > press the icon on the screen of the printer and then wireless active wireless Radio.

  5 > now hit the 'Test of Wireless Print report' and enter the values for ON Wireless, works wireless and wireless network detected.

  This model printer does not use the solution Center platform. Instead of the solution Center, there is a printer icon that launches the desktop software. Analysis DPI can be adjusted via the software by launching the desktop icon and selecting scan. You can also specify the location in the software analysis.

• Cannot print in landscape

  I have just set up a HP Photosmart 6510e by using a USB connection (don't don't need or want to wireless). This replaces a Photosmart C4100 which was great, but the transport died after many years. This printer has been great and I liked better than this one.  Anyway, everything works, BUT I can't seem to print in landscape, portrait only. And in the layout, there is no box to select the landscape.  It is a function of the printer or have I missed something?  Print a large number of worksheets, and it's a pain to have to cut to fit the portrait page. It is better to change to another printer on that? Thank you.  Bess

  I figured out how do by going online to HP support and read the instructions.  He made it clear to pull down the file menu, choose layout and choose the landscape.  It worked.  He also says that if you can't see a file menu (as in Chrome), just click on print and choose landscape. I am pleased to announce that both ways worked so I'll keep this printer, even if I liked the C4100, I had to throw better.  I'm pretty computer savvy and manage an online store sophisticated all by myself, but sometimes jumping out of something so simple.

  What OS did you go to?

• HP Photosmart C8100 upgrade to Mac OS Sierra Scanner no longer works.

  After that, I'm going to macOS Sierra my HP Photosmart C8100 Scanner no longer works.

  I had try HP they don't site any upgrade in the Sierra. I get my scanner to work.

  I do not have this as a new printer/scanner each time new software upgrade of the Mac computer.

  Have you tried to install the HP drivers, reboot, then delete and add the printer again?

  Can you explain if this happens with all pages or only PDF files open with Firefox 29,0? If it's from PDF files, I have been informed that this a bug that will be fixed by an update published Friday morning time Pacific.

  I was talking to HP support problems with the latest firmware pushed for the 7520 breach ePrint and network services and they told me that there is an updated release due to be released for download via the software / support site, I was wondering when the new firmware is supposed to be available?

  A new firmware to restore the ePrint feature are available on hp.com, however it is currently available for MS Windows :

  I don't know if / when it wil become available for Mac OS, that's why I suggest you get a Windows PC and update of the printer, if you can have such an or can borrow a laptop to a member, family, etc.

• HP photosmart 5510 won't print black

  I have a photosmart 5510 which do not print black. All other colors are OK. Have changed cartridge and went through all the steps on the site of diagnosis without success.

  I really need to turn it on. Any ideas gratefully received.
