Pioneer DVR-K16S can no more read on DVD-R media

I just updated my BIOS a few days ago. I don't know if it is related to that, but my DVD player can read either any media DVD-R or DVD - RW.
He can still read DVD + R and DVD + RW as it was.
I tried to find a firmware for my Pioneer DVR-K16S but did not.
Please try my find the firmware I'm looking for help.

And what model of laptop you have exactly?

It seems that ODD drive has a problem of calibration and impossible to define the objective in the right position. What do you think about this?

May is the time for a new drive.

  • Satellite 5200 903: can't read my DVD data burning

    Hallo,

I have a problem with my DVD/CD-ROM. He can no longer read my DVD of data (backups of my hard drives) that I burned with the same. Also it can read the DVD movie only after I put the DVD in and out a couple of times. He has no problem with the CD.

Don't you think it's a software or a hardware problem.

    Thank you

    Hi Matthias,

This sounbds as a problem of possible material for me. As you know that the laser must be re-phased to manage the DVDS and allowed tolerances are much smaller. So your device can handle CD correvtly but fights with DVDs.

Have you tried cleaning the lens on your DVD-ROM, this can improve the situation for you.

The problem is very strange, after several days of use of the laptop drive does not read or write DVD! The process of reading or writing with the CD is excellent. Who is wrong? I didn't change the firmware or something like that. I don't really know what to do. I can't reinstall the system since the Toshiba Recovery dics's on DVD and it won't start...

    Help, please

    Hi Artur

Try to remove the drive from Device Manager and reboot your device. After restarting the OS should reinstall the drive. Then try to play the DVD.
Well, I also read a few topics in the forum a similar car problems and it seems that you are driving can has a calibration problem. In this case, you should replace the disk. I think that it isn't a reason to be angry. Your device is under warranty and all replacements must be done for free.

  • Pioneer DVR-KD08 issues on Windows 7

Hi!, I'm asking here beucase is my last choice... I had Windows Vista Home Premium installed on my Sony Vaio VGN-CR460F, which has the CD/DVD Pioneer DVR-KD08 ATA attached... but well, there is NOT a driver for the CD/DVD drive... that's why sony vaio using a driver Optiarc AD - 7260S... but the problem is the following:

After installing my new Windows 7, the software did not recognize the driver Optiarc AD - 7260S, he places a 'Pioneer' Driver, but this driver does not work... and when I try to find any other driver, he says that he's already been materialized, so he won't find all...

The first question is: where can I find a driver (driver Optiarc AD - 7260S) so I can install it MANUALLY (with no configuration... it doesn't let me install if is an installation program)

Now... After looking for drivers, I went to Sony ESupport Page... and I have downloaded the updated driver Optiarc... but when I try the update... it wont let me, because windows 7 recognized the Pioneer drive (it was like optiarc in vista back then) since windows 7 recognizes the Pioneer drive... Optiarc UPDATE or even used Driver SETUP I would install it... (It is said: instalation error, there is no Compatible drive...)

So mi second question is: How can I update my drive with the update installation program? ... Given that windows 7 recognizes the drive as pioneer... it says it is not compatible with the installer! ...

I ask this because after upgrade my Windows Vista to Windows 7, the player collapsed to be able to read or write any DVD or CD, I tried to make it work with Mr Fix It Windows... and deleting the LowerFilters and UpperFilters registry... Then please don't answer that...

I just need one manually to install my driver to make it work.

    Thanks :)

    Hi RoZuRiGo,

    1. What is software that does not recognize the drive?

You can first try uninstalling the software Pioneer.

    Step 1:

    b. expand the game sound and video controller in Device Manager

    c. right click on the audio device and click Properties

    d. click on the driver tab and click on uninstall the drivers and click OK.

    Step 2:

You can check the following link and try to install the firmware in Vista compatibility mode and check.

MY DVD - RW DVR-112D ATA DEVICE IS ONLY PLAYBACK DVD VIDEO (EX MOVIES). BUT NOT READ ANY OTHER TYPE (E.G. SOFTWARE). Everytime I put a dvd movie it plays automatically, but any other type of cd it will say insert disk. One has had this problem?

    Hello

You have disk problem as the CD/DVD is actually 4 discs in 1 case (burn CD & DVD and CD and DVD read).
Therefore, it is not unusual for 1 or 2 rooms with not so work that others do it properly.

Step 1: Please make all underneath the same if you've done it before as it's often the total of the process which
    solves the problem.

    Try this - Panel - Device Manager - CD/DVD - double-click on the device - driver tab - click
Update the drivers (this will probably do nothing) - then RIGHT click the drive - UNINSTALL - REBOOT
This will refresh the default driver stack. Even if the reader does not appear to continue below.

Then, work your way through these - don't forget the drive might be bad, could be a loose cable or
slight corrosion on the contacts (usually for a laptop) and other issues.

You have disk problems as the CD/DVD is actually 4 discs in 1 case (CD &)

while others are doing so correctly.

CD/DVDs have a tolerance + - and your can read/write on the outside edge
