PIX of Pix VPN with no LAN

Same old story, but I have been able to resolve. We have recently resumed with 501 to 506 VPN client, but can not access the network from one side to the other resources. (Ping, browse, telnet...). The two attached configs. Thanks in advance.

You have BA/Decr on both sides, are you sure that the TWO parties can not access the other?

  • With PAT on Cisco PIX VPN client

    Dear all,

I have a PIX 515 to the main site with the IPSec security is enabled. Homepage user using 3.x VPN client connects to the PIX for VPN access. When user Home use real IP, I can ping to the local network of the main site. However, when the Home user using a router with PAT, the VPN can be established.

Is there a setting I should put on PIX, VPN client or router?

    Thank you.

    Doug

And if you still have problems, upgrade your pix, 6.3 and usage:

    ISAKMP nat-traversal

But the first thing would be to check the IPSEC passthrough as Ade suggested. If the device is a linksys check the version of the firmware as well.

  • VPN with usernames in the pix firewall

Is there anyway to make my VPN connections in my specific user pix?

I know it's possible with the concentrator 3000 but don't know if you can do it with a pix. I have about 10 people who need VPN in.

Can each VPN cause a different password?

Reason is: if I let go 1 person I don't want to have to worry about changing the passwords for all the world just deleting an account.

    Thank you

    Anthony

In a PIX VPN connection should always be authenticated with a name of username/password extra for extra security. Up to v6.3 you used to have to store these names of user and password to an external Radius/GANYMEDE server, but to the point 6.3 now you can use the local user on the PIX database to store these.

    The commands are:

    > the client authentication card crypto LOCAL

    > user_name password

You can have as many orders "... user name. "as you wish. If someone leaves your company simply remove it the name of the list.

  • Replication failover PIX VPN (CEP) certificate

    Hello

Had a pair of PIX 525 on 6.3 (4) version running in active/failover mode, I recently configured VPN authenticated by certificates, which involved the use of PRACTICE in order to get the certificate to the PIX. Certificates have been imported for the PIX from a snap-in with the software component CEP Protocol Windows CA server by following the instructions described here: http://www.ciscosystems.com/en/US/docs/security/pix/pix63/configuration/guide/sit2site.html#wp1007263 .

It all works very well, the configuration has been saved, certificates registered cases using "ca save all", everything works well except the certificates that have been imported have not been replicated for the PIX failover - the command 'Show the ca certificate', shows not all certs.

Private keys show 'sh ca mypubkey rsa' are the same on both devices.

I'm not able to find any documentation about how certificates must be replicated on the PIX failover, and it is not possible to write certificates again on the PIX failover using the commands they were initially imported by:

    PIX - fw # conf t
    WARNING *.
Configuration of replication is NOT performed the unit from standby to Active unit.
    Configurations are no longer synchronized.

PIX - FW (config) auth ca ca
    WARNING *.
Configuration of replication is NOT performed the unit from standby to Active unit.
    Configurations are no longer synchronized.

Everyone knows a similar issue or how to get the PIX failover with the new ca certificates?

    Kind regards

    Sarunas

    Hello Sarunas

PIX 6 indeed do not synchronize keys and certificates automatically.

However, you should be able to do this first, forcing a failover (i.e. secondary image make it active), then register (now active) high school with the certification authority.

I do something obviously stupid, can someone tell me what it is, thank you.

    Hello

    1. you create a second access as list:

    outside_cryptomap ip 172.18.138.0 access list allow 255.255.255.0 172.18.133.0 255.255.255.0

    and

    2. instead of

correspondence address 1 card crypto transam 101

    You must configure

card crypto transam 1 match address outside_cryptomap

the problem is that you configure an ACL for nat and crypto - that does not work

  • PIX, VPN, PAT and static

I want to activate an incoming and outgoing VPN on a PIX configured with PAT. I enabled ESP and UDP/500 on the appropriate access to the lists, but must provide a static for inbound traffic. I already use a static for incoming SMTP traffic, and I don't see how to do the same thing for udp/500, but how do I ESP traffic?

    Any suggestions gratefully received.

If you are referring to a static port, you can create one for ESP since static port can only be created for TCP/UDP and ESP is located just above the intellectual property, it is NOT a TCP/UDP protocol. You will need to create a one-to-one static for this internal VPN server and have your clients to connect to this address. This will chew global IP address to another one, sorry.

  • Configuration of the PIX 520 with two links to Internet

    Hello.

I have a pix 520 with four interfaces ethernet firewall, in fact I am with

    just two interfaces,

    Ethernet 0 outdoors

    Ethernet 1 inside

    ethernet2 closed intf2

    ethernet3 closed intf3

Thus, in the interface to the outside, I have access to the internet, but now I

access to the internet and I want to configure the two, I mean,.

a single network inside and two internet access,

    is it posible?

    the perhaps configuration.

    Ethernet 0 (access 1) outdoors

    1 Ethernet (ip 10.1.1.1) inside

    ethernet2 outside2 (access to internet 2)

    ethernet3 inside2? (ip 10.1.1.2)?

    Thanks for the help,

You can plug it in like that, but there is no way to route traffic by default. PIX does not support this type of connections that you can only configure a default route on the pix. This link should help describe what you can do: http://www.cisco.com/warp/public/110/pixfaq.shtml#Q18

    I hope this helps.

  • VPN to access LAN VPN clinet.

We use a PIX 515 as the hub of a LAN to LAN VPN as well as to access VPN Clinet. Using a multipoint configuration sites speaks (all PIX 501) are able to communicate with each other. However, the VPN to access the 515 client are not able to access the VPN sites has talked about. I think that it is due to the fact that put an end to all tunnels on the same interface of the PIX 515. Is there a way to allow the VPN CLient to communicate with the LAN VPN spoke?

    Concerning

    PD

Currently, it is not a good way to meet the requirements above. However, add us a new item (or rather, a restriction of relax) for the PIX 7.0 code (to be released in December/January) to allow clients VPN packets 'u-turn' on a Hub PIX to PIX spoke connected via Lan-to-Lan tunnels. The program 7.0 beta is about to begin (may have just begun) so if interested, please contact your local account engineer Cisco. Sorry for the news but help is on the way.

For the RADIUS, you need a definition of server-aaa:

Protocol AAA - NPS RADIUS server RADIUS

AAA-server RADIUS NPS (inside) host 10.10.18.12

    key *.

    authentication port 1812

Thank you very much in advance for your help

    Glenn

    Thanks for the configuration.

So you're natting and then to encrypt traffic natted. Which is totally fine. The reason, your ping does not work after the application of cryptography is due to the ACL entries below:

access-list 101 permit icmp any any echo

access-list 101 permit icmp any any echo response

The acl entries above are part of the traffic interesting Crypto. So once you apply the card encryption the router is supposed to encrypt all ICMP Echo and Echo-Reply, including traffic that is presented with the ip address of your 201.x.x.x. If you remove these two entries of the ACL 101 and apply only the below entries, then the ICMP should work with the applied crypto map.

    access-list 101 permit ip 172.4.4.0 0.0.0.255 172.17.0.64 0.0.0.7

    access-list 101 permit tcp host 172.4.4.5 host 172.17.0.65 eq 1000

    access-list 101 permit udp host 172.4.4.5 host 172.17.0.65 eq 1000

After making the changes, make sure that crypto acl is images mirror on VPN3000 and router, or otherwise you will have problems in the implementation of the tunnel.

I would like to know how the test goes without the ACL 101 ICMP entries.

    Kind regards

    Arul

  • Is site to site VPN with sufficiently secure router?

    Hello

I have a question about the site to site VPN with router.

    Internet <> router <> LAN

If I have a VPN site-to-site configured on the router above with another site. I configured to block incoming Internet connections with the exception of VPN to access list. What are the risks of the LAN is exposed to threats from the Internet? Recommend that you put in a firewall between the router and the LAN, or replace the router with a firewall?

    Thank you

    Hi Amanda,.

Assuming your L2L looks like this:

    LAN - router - INTERNET - Router_Remote - LAN

    |-------------------------------------------------------------------------------|

    L2L

Traffic between the two local area networks is protected by the VPN tunnel. It is recommended to use the recommended security (strong encryption settings) to ensure that the encrypted traffic would not be compromised through the Internet.

On the other hand, if you talk about outbound plaintext to the Internet, as when a user acceses google.com, then you just make out traffic, but never allow all incoming connections.

If you want to protect your network with advanced security as a FW features, you can consider ZBF, which is the available in IOS Firewall/set function:

Design of the area Guide of Application and firewall policies

If you consider that this is not enough, check the ASA5500 series.

Hello, it is possible to use the iphone 5 without sim, with w - lan only? For the first installations, later with the sim card? IPhone 4 doesn't work without a sim card. Thank you

You will need to have a sim card in the phone to activate when first implemented, after that you can remove the sim card and use it with wifi only.

I use a Windows Vista Home Edition on a laptop. The system connects to the Internet through a cellular router EDGE (via Ethernet) and receives the data by linking receiver DVB - S2 satellite broadband connected via a USB interface. The connection is through a VPN. Windows Vista loses the symbol of the "blue planet", as soon as the VPN connects. Authentication and connectivity is OK. DNS also works OK by the way VPN, with pointing to the VPN IP address 0.0.0.0.  The diagnosis indicates an error where Vista says that she finds multiple active dial connections.
