Pixelated photos in Lightroom and after export

Hi, I'm new to Lightroom and photo in general editing. I also recently got a Macbook Pro of the retina. When I Zoom on the RAW files before import into Lightroom, they do not appear pixelated (see the picture on the left). Once I have import to Lightroom, they are pixelated when you zoom in. I read somewhere that it is so that you can see how your editing affects each pixel. However, once the photo into LR converting to jpeg and export, they are always very pixelated when zoom you (see the attached picture to the right, in particular the diagonal line on the left of the photo). My questions are: why are jpeg images very pixelated when RAW files are not at all? Is this normal or is at - it a setting I would have changed? I also understand that jpegs will reduce the quality of the photo, but it seems like a significant difference. I have also attached my export in Lightroom settings, even if the exported photo is the same quality that I see in LR. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

When you look at the raw file before importing, you don't see the actual raw file, but an overview of the embedded jpg.

I'm guessing that the Mac preview (or whatever application you use) requires a lot of smoothing when the zoom, which gives you a false impression of what the image actually looks like.

Other that that, there is no point in an image is displayed at greater than 100% magnification to judge the quality.

Indeed, 100% is the magnification is valid, because a single pixel of the image is represented by a pixel screen - and gives you a true representation of the image.

So forget the built-in preview and view the image at 100% in Lightroom to judge the quality.

It is even for images exported - view 100%.

  • Various errors between Lightroom and Jeffrey "Export to Flickr" Plugin Flickr

    Greetings.

It is really just a FYI forum post, in the hope that the error messages I received can help users of plugin from Adobe or Jeffrey Friedl; its export-to-flickr plugin has been much more reliable than the default of Macromedia, but it still gets errors sometimes - I attribute this especially on Flickr when it happens, but some of the error messages that I can't decipher, and devs can learn more.

Last week, in a single session of Lightroom, within two hours, the plugin has failed several times to download over and over again, and the following errors have been systematically posted:

    jflickr1.png

    jflickr2.png

(it was weird, because all images are imported at the same time, but 4 of them were given the status read-only; I attribute this to Lightroom).

    jflickr3.png

    jflickr4.png

(of course Flickr abandoned connection - so frustrating.)

    jflickr5.png

(this happened many - totally no descriptive error!)

Again, these are FYI only - I guess that the thread is 'closed' as soon as I 'opened it"- but I hope this helps devs on either end make their software communicate better with each other.

    See you soon.

I get similar messages. Sometimes to download 100 images, I have to restart the download 10 times. Sometimes I can't download a special Collection to publish Smart for a month, it will not just download and then as if by magic, the next time it downloads.

Jeffrey told me by e-mail that his plugin simply reports messages from Flickr, so all the problems are problems caused by Flickr.

I think part of the problem is the parent company of that than yahoo Flickr! is in trouble, and the money and resources to maintain and improve the Flickr just isn't what it should be.

I then downloaded lightroom 6 and couldn't open it

you need VC 9.0 or better.

your cs5 and the lr5 can not update to that.  Use the dng Converter:

  • Why my lightroom does not export the edited versions of my pictures?

I edit all my photos in lightroom and it worked for me in the past. Recently, something happened with my computer, I decided to save my photos on a disk outside, just in case my computer does not turn in a single day. I saved the catalog to my hard drive, it was wrong to me? When I opened first lightroom after it backs up it said something about 'do not find the catalogue' so I just hit well and saw that all my photos were always there so everything was OK. But now that since my lightroom exports only the originals of the pictures, even if I change the photo. I have not found someone with the same problem and I'm really at a loss at what to do. Someone please help. I have wedding photos that are supposed to be done for someone soon so I really need this fixed a problem.

I got really the problem right after I posted this. I could have sworn that I deleted my question. Thanks in any case!

  • Pictures goes after export

I use Lightroom 2.3 64 bit on an operating system of Windows 7 Home Premium to process my RAW photos. When I export a photo directly treated in a folder on my hard drive, it seems very dark and muddy to the future, even if she seemed fine in the Lightroom Catalog. I had prints made from the exported files, and they appear as very dark and muddy. Also, oddly enough, when I'll be back to the Lightroom catalog after export photo, ALL photos in Lightroom to appear darker than they were prior to export. If I close Lightroom and come back later, they seem OK once again (with the exception of the photos already exported, which remain dark). Any ideas?

Looks like you say it's all brilliant in Lightroom, until you export and then they are dark, but randomly afterwards, they are light again. See obscuritees and the light of the versions of your files when you switch between the modules library and develop?

  • Size reduction after export of the LR5 in image format JPEG /Formaat reductie

For a few months, I have had no problem at all with the sizes. 3500 x 1943 JPEG and size 2.05 MB all natural weres. What can be the reason for this negative problem?

  • See the iPad as video pro photos in Lightroom

    Hello

I start with Lightroom and imported my photos of the iPhone and the iPad.

The iPad is an iPad PRO and most of the photos is 2 or tree photos at the same time. LR and as video visible and I cannot change those.

    Is there a solution?

    Kind regards

    Johan

How you import? Using Lightroom Mobile? Or through Lightroom Desktop and import of orders?

My guess is that these pictures are created in the form of a JPEG file over a video, and Lightroom Desktop it would treat as it manages the pairs RAW + JPEG - ignore the default JPEG. So try to change preferences / general / treat JPEG files of the files next to raw as separate photos and then try to import. That may be enough to solve your problem, or it would point towards what to do in the future.

  • photos from Lightroom will be not automatically open in Photoshop 13

I have an iMac 27 "end 2012, Yosemite, Lightroom 5 and 13 items running. I have Photoshop Elements selected in Lightroom "change in" and in the Lightroom preferences, I have Photoshop selected 13 items.

When I select a photo in Lightroom to open in Photoshop Elements (i.e. in Lightroom, I chose "Edit in"), PSE 13 OPENS but the photo is never there. I looked and looked in PSE 13 for the photo from Lightroom, and I'm not.

Oddly, a copy of the photo appears in Lightroom in grid mode. Is driving me crazy! I can drag a photo into the components icon and it will open in the elements, but then I don't know how to get it back in Lightroom with changes unless I have enregistrer to save on my desktop, then drag in the Lightroom icon. I understand that it is supposed to work in a transparent manner if I do something wrong.

  • In Lightroom, developing the original window and after photos are different even before treatment

I'm a newcomer to Adobe Photoshop Lightroom CC 2015.4 but found after importing photo in the window to develop and duplication of the view forward and after that, the photo is different from the original before even I did any changes. Surely, they should be the same. Is it normal or I do something wrong?

Well, it's a shot in the water, but I think it was affecting a case recently where a defective monitor due to profile either the front or after the image do not display at all, so I thought the sRGB monitor profile could be worth trying.

  • Hello! I am a family oriented photographer and have a bit of trouble to keep the colors of files exported between lightroom and photoshop consistent. I edited my images on 5 Lightroom and export TIFF files after ProPhoto color space

Hello! I am a family oriented photographer and have a bit of trouble to keep the colors of files exported between lightroom and photoshop consistent. I edited my images on 5 Lightroom and export TIFF files after changing color ProPhoto RGB space. Then, I opened a picture at once and changed the settings of Photoshop CC ProPhoto RGB color (under the workspace). When I was editing on photoshop, I tried to export the image, but the colors seemed different, a bit washed out and blue, from the color of the workspace, I was on. I don't know how to solve this problem. Please notify.

Thank you very much for this! Color sorted

  • Help!  5 Lightroom crashed after importation and impossible to find photos

I imported all photos in Lightroom 5 (Mac) of a camera and the APP has crashed just after the import.  When I reopened it Lightroom photos were gone and if I return to the import section, they are still on the camera, but I can't access because they are grayed out.  Apparently the imported photos are stored somewhere that is why it won't allow me to import again, but I can not find them and have no idea where else to look at.

    Thanks for your help.

If the pictures are grayed out when importing, then they have already been imported. Just go to the library, not the dialog Module import, click "All photos" and find your photo (if necessary, search by file name)

  • When I export a photo from lightroom, the image is very pixelated.

When I export a photo from lightroom, the image is very pixelated. This Burr occurs regardless of whether I do adjustments in Lightroom.  It seems that place just the photo in it develop modual without doing anything to it taints the image in such a way that when it is exported from the modual develop the export pixelated fate.

There is a radical difference between these two images. Incredibly, export of Lightroom has been shrunk down so it has fewer pixels. This means that if you try to display them on a similar screen size, you will need to expand by zoom. Really just, which increases the size of the pixels, so pixilization. He looks exactly like its original size. I think you should just turn off the Image resizing option (uncheck the Resize to fit) in your export settings to get the quality you are looking for.
