"Place the Photos" InDesign CS3

Hi people!

New on the forum - and InDesign.

When I print my 16-bit TIFF is strong and all the proportions in check. Who printed and put it next to my impression of InDesign.

When I have 'place' in InDesign, even with my page dimensions exact same as photo, it will tend in some places (especially noticeable when printing) and I tried all forms of connection.

I want to use my photos the whole portfolio in my 8.5 x 11 page extends, but cannot have the loss of quality.

of course, Miss something very basic.  Can anyone help?   Thanks in advance.

now, how change that

Set it to 100% and leave it like that. That said, 200 dpi should not be significantly wrong. There is no re - sample up to Photoshop, do you? If you "resolution added" in Photoshop and then he exploded in Indesign, you would have gotten this big enough to begin to see the limits of the original resolution.

What was the original photo, and what was the ppi? How wide do you now at 200 dpi?

  • Newbie: Place the Photo

    I'm about 1 day to come to grips with InDesign, after using Photoshop for my projects of basic design for years. I'm having trouble with the photo I want to use as a background for my image, it's a huge, commercial quality TIFF image, but he pixillates like a mobile phone of snapshot when I place in my InDesign format A4 document. Clearly, I'm doing something wrong, but I can't understand it - I wonder if it's something to do with the process of scaling (the photo is too large for the workspace, so I scale down just using the brake handles). Any help would be appreciated!

    What you see is just the preview screen. Go to object > display performance and choose high quality display.

    The same can be done for the entire document under view > display performance.

  • Place the Photos in the text

    Hello

    For some reason that I have difficulty making the text around a picture, I have place in a new document. I am able to send text forward or backward, but unable to make the text wrap nicely around the photo. I recently updated my InDesign program; This is perhaps why I can't find the appropriate command.

    Your help is appreciated.

    Thank you

    You apply the text wrapping by using the text wrapping Panel. Window > text wrapping

  • Place the photo with gradient transparency

    I'm trying to place a picture in a packaging design in Illustrator.  The photo has a mask degraded around the edges that fade to transparency.  When I place it on the package with a rich black flood design in illustrator and print on my printer laser, I can see a noticeable difference in the shade of black in a square around the photo area.

    What can I do to avoid this?

    This show up in the offset printing?

    Thank you! This is my first post.

    What can I do to avoid this?

    Nothing, except if the printer driver supports a workflow completely managed to apply the specific pixelation. If the printer supports it or e.g. Acrobat printing and playing with flattening options, however, you can try color profiles replacing...

    This show up in the offset printing?

    No, if you prepare your separations ink properly...

  • Place the photos high resolution in InDesign - look terrible when I resize down! Does not work why!

    I'm a beginner with InDesign, so I'm looking for very clear instructions. I work with CS6 on a ballot. When I place very large, high resolution photos in and then try to resize the terrible resolution looks down.  I use the tool place during the import. At first I thought it was because I use the 'content to the chassis Fit' tool and who had settled the proportions. So I tried to "Adjust the frame proportionally" and who did not, any more than "automatic adjustment". I have tried to place photos and then making a control + drag to resize down - it did not work. I looked at preferences - file handling - preserve Image Dimensions (I deselected that option). Also, did not work. I wonder if the resizing affects pixels, but I don't know where to find it in InDesign. I found the instructions for Photoshop on the choice of Image - resize the Image, but not in InDesign. The other thing, on what I am wondering is that I put these pictures in a text box - which could cause problems with the resolution? Should I be placing them another way?

    Any advice would be appreciated with gratitude!

    You should always use one of the options adjustment proportional to avoid distortion. This may mean that you need to change the shape of the image frame allows you to adapt the shape of the image, or crop the image to take into account the shape of the frame. It is a reality.

    I'm starting to think that some or all the original problem may be in the jpeg compression, and I doubt that Pixillion Image Convertor is a good choice for downsampling (which isn't the same thing as compression). You can post one of these pictures somewhere for us to watch?

  • Resolution of the image when you place the InDesign file in InDesign

    I feel like this is a silly question but I do not know the answer!

    If I place an InDesign file that contains a picture in a another InDesign, the resolution of the original image file is kept? For example, if I have an InDesign A5 file, that contains a chart where the ppi effective (because it's been reduced) is 600 dpi, and then I place the entire InDesign file it in another file and EXPAND, what happens to my graph?

    Thank you!

    I have a document with an InDesign file linked, an area of text that is used in many documents, so interested in this issue.

    I did a quick test and it seems to work as it should. I made a smaller file with an image linked and bound the Indesign file in a larger document, and since it is a linked InDesign file it recognizes and displays the image in the links Panel.

  • Using frame as a path of shadow for photo - InDesign CS4

    Hi, this seems very simple but its past simply do not.

    I'm trying to crop an image jpg using the form I created with the combination of the rectangle frame tool and the ellipse tool. First, I created a rectangle. Then, I created a circle. Then I cut the corner of the rectangle with the scissors. Then I moved the circle in place on the corner cut. Then I gathered the 2 objects. The result is a rectangle with curved top right.

    I can fill it with a color of the Swatches palette, and the color is consistent with the form.

    I really need to put a picture of the shape, so that shape the image of the cultures.

    The best I can do is fill the rectangle, it seems not to take account of the circle.

    Is there a quick fix for this? I help a fellow employee move to using Microsoft Publisher. Apparently editor can do easily, so its really annoying that I can't InDesign to do the same.

    Thank you

    You don't have a single object. You have a group.

    Use the pathfinder Panel so that it becomes an object and then place the photo.

    But a better idea would be to simply use the pen tool to draw.

  • Cannot align the bottom edge of the photo with the top of the taskbar on the H - P dv7-4296 running Windows 7

    I have a dv7-4296nr running Windows 7.  I use a slide show for my wallpaper.  But some of the graphics that I use are not among the standard background images and are not size 1600 x 900 pixels.  I resized them so that the vertical dimension is 900 pixels and the horizontal is not more than 1600 pixels.

    I want to put a text caption simple (usually only one word) in the lower right corner of the image, as close as possible to the lower edge.  Put the text in the image is easy, but he displayed is not!

    The problem is that the taskbar hide the bottom of the image, including the legend.  I can think of two approaches to solve the problem, but have not been able to get either to work.

    The preferred approach is to resize and place the photos so that the bottom of the image is almost exactly in line with the top of the to-do bar and the top of the image is at the top of the screen.  That would allow me to display the entire image with the caption placed where I like it.  I was not able to resize the images and place them in the display to achieve this.  Can you tell me how to proceed?

    The other answer, which is less satisfactory, is to move the legend to the top, so the base line is just above the top of the taskbar.  How far away from the lower edge of the baseline of the text image will have to be to do this?

    Thanks for your help!

    The taskbar are 40 pixels high, so you can see only 860 900 pixels display area.  The simplest solution is to put the pixel text-based line at least 40 of the bottom of the image and use the option Center in the positioning of the image menu.  Unfortunately, this leaves the background pixels 40 obscured by the taskbar.

    A more elegant solution is to resize the image in order to make the vertical dimension 860 pixels.  I use Corel Paint Shop Pro, which has a function called 'Size of the canvas', and I don't know there are similar functions in other paint programs.  Canvas size allows you to add a background (a "Web") and specify the size of the canvas as well as the location of the image on the canvas.

    I make the white of the canvas, 900 pixels high and the same width as the image.  It gives me a bunch of white 'canvas' 40 pixels up and down.  I add the text, and then store the resulting image in the folder that contains the images on my desk of slides.

    It works very well: the taskbar don't obscure than the white stripe, while I can see the entire image with the text placed where I want.

  • How to make the photo at 100% in Dreamweaver?

    I place the photo in Dreamweaver - Lightbox at 100% but when I see them on the internet, they are more than 100% and are blurry. What can I do to get them as 100% on the Internet?

    width: 100% will be upscale images to fit the browser window.  This often leads to distortions.

    For best results, use max-width: 100% who don't not high-end image beyond its native file size (height x width).

    I'm trying to place an image in a sheared environment (see screenshot).

    However, when you place the image, the image is sheared to match the image.

    Thank you!

    After you have placed the image, you can correct the sheer by selecting the content and adjusting to 0

  • CS3 and Delphi: Place pdf in indesign

    Hello

    I'm developing a script with Deplhi that automates the creation of documents.

    I would like to be able to place pdf documents in an InDesign document. I adapted a script I found in this thread: http://forums.adobe.com/message/3013174

    I didn't define the types appropriate for variables, because Delphi does not not typed variables. There was a line in particular that I had to change completely:

    myPDFPage = myPage.place(File(myPDFFile), [0,0])[0];

    The nervous parameter must be an array of double, and missing parameters should be defined. Finally, the following worked:

    var
      APoint:      array of double;

    begin
      ...
      SetLength(APoint, 2);
      APoint[0] := 0;
      APoint[1] := 0;
      myPage.place(Filename, APoint, ActiveDocument.Layers[1], false, false);
      ...

    Original, the result of the function of the place is assigned to the myPDFPagevariable in the script, and I have problems to get this assignment work. Often uses TypeLib by as olevariants and we must understand ourselves what types are permitted and must be used, and what kind of actors.

    In the original script follows this code:

    myFirstPage = myPDFPage.pdfAttributes.pageNumber;

    Only interfaces in the type library that have a property called pdfAttributes are PDF and ImportedPage. But none of these types of work if I set pdfAttributes of this type. I'm not sure if that place seems to return a table only adds additional problems. Most of the time, TypeLib tables are based at index 1, not zero.

    But I tried

    var
      APoint:      array of double;
      myPDFPage:   PDF;
    begin
      ...

    myPDFPage := PDF(myPage.place(Filename, APoint, ActiveDocument.Layers[1], false, false)[0]);
      ...

    and

    var
      APoint:      array of double;
      myPDFPage:   ImportedPage;
    begin
      ...

    myPDFPage := ImportedPage(myPage.place(Filename, APoint, ActiveDocument.Layers[1], false, false)[0]);
      ...

    and even with the array index to 1 instead of 0 and without a clue. But none of this should be compiled without error.

    Justifications know how this command line must be or what type of myPDFPage ?

    And more generally: how could determine the types possibla of a parameter, variable, or return type which is an OleVariant in the type library?

    I found a few InDesign CS3 scripts specific documents PDF here: http://www.adobe.com/products/indesign/scripting/, but no reference full of functions and types.

    Best regards

    Christian Kirchhoff

    Hi Christian

    I don't know if anyone else uses Delphi on this forum.

    But here is what I get JS - we will perform a simple test:

    var doc = app.activeDocument;
    var myPDFFile = new File("~/Desktop/Sample.pdf");
    var page = doc.pages[0];
    app.pdfPlacePreferences.pageNumber = 1;
    var a1 = page.place(myPDFFile, [0,0]);
    var a2 = a1[0];

    A1 returns an array of objects PDF, but declare you it as doubles. AFAIK, it is always an array of single item since you cannot place more than one page pdf at a time.
    A2.constructor.name;
    Result: array

    A2 returns the class PDF object
    A2.constructor.name;
    Result: PDF
