  The table will give you a good idea of the properties that you can use for essbase.

  Planning properties are roughly the same that you would enter through web planning, so if you get stuck just journal in planning and check the properties on a dimension member.

• Hyperion Planning and Essbase

  I have a question about how essbase is related to hyperion planning.  specifically, I would like to know if you can vectorize in essbase and then associate them with or have them cross to a hyperion planning an application.  I read that if you make a change to an essbase outline, and then refresh the hyperion application applications settings, including an outline, will be replaced.  It seems that master control is integrated with EPMA or hyperion planning because all the dimension and the main lines of work needs to be done here.  However, it seems to me that there may be times where you want everything works on and change the contour in essabase and have changes go through the application of EPMA, because it's maybe easier.  Is this true and if so, how do the changes so that they appear in the hyperion application that was created by EPMA.

  The flow is planning for Essbase, it cannot be reversed.

  If it's a planning request EPMA then the stream is EPMA > planning > Essbase

• Essbase options

  How can I request an essbase option to the entire workbook?
  I need to get to 0 instead of #missing in the entire workbook

  I'm not sure this will help the original, poster that he needed to change more than 100 existing models. The default value of the options only works for files newly created and the 11.1.2.1.102 or higher. I think I want to write a macro that reads the workbook parameters in view of add-in and then assigns using the box to tools Hyp (Smart view). I have not tried so I am nost sure how well that will work. Given that and the thread is two months, I'm not sure what the OP did not already understand something

  As I could not achieve security at the cellular level through planning, I changed for this user security filters in Essbase. Is there a problem if the security between planning and Essbase is not synchronized? We are on Hyperion 9.3.1.

  The only problem you will get really, it's that when you refresh planning with checked filters and then they will be recreated in essbase.

• Commissioning, provider Services and planning and Essbase

  I'm having a problem with users (planners planning) planning and Essbase added to Manager Data Source for a Shared Services provider connection.
  
  Here they are all on 11.1.1.3 and Excel 2003.
  
  I found that I have to configure planners as:
  (1) Essbase for administrators to add Essbase
  (2) shared Services Application creators to add planning
  
  If I don't do the foregoing, when planners are trying to add Essbase or planning (and Yes, I confirm that an Essbase admin means nothing for the addition of a planning server and vice versa for SSP app creator to Essbase), they get a "this operation is not permitted under your APS user account privileges.
  
  I'm desperately hoping that I have made a huge mistake and have neglected an incredibly obvious framework as the provisioning of planners for both roles above is simply not on, especially wrt Essbase.
  
  FWIW, if I add these connections as an administrator, disconnect and then connect to already added connections, everything is fine. However, it is a significant administrative burden and opens all kinds of security, calendar, questions etc.
  
  If anyone has experienced this? And more importantly, figured out how to fix this?
  
  I found a document Metalink re this error but it was around the creation of Smart slices. It is 20 miles down the road where I am right now.

  When you add the new server in the source of data for Essbase or planning manager it adds this APS Server and is available for all users. It should only need to be done once, and that is why it is an administrative task.

  I may be misunderstanding then please clarify if what I say is meaningless...

• Refresh planning to Essbase via batchscript

  I am trying to automate a refresh from planning to Essbase. Normally we would do so through the planning Interface, Administration / Management of databases / refresh database. However, this process takes about 3 hours, when it's a dense restructuring involved. that is when one of our dense dimensions has changed.
  Therefore, we cannot run the update during opening hours and need to put this process in a batch, preferably the lot at night running the rest of the Essbase Calc.
  
  We are studying the use of the CUBEREFRESH utility. CMD I uses the following syntax of the C:/Hyperion/products/planning/bin/directory:
  
  cuberefresh.cmd A:arcbsbud /U:admin u/r
  
  the name of the application is ARCBSBUD
  
  But if I use the /D parameter or not, I get the error saying: "impossible to update a database, you must use the/d or the /F. parameter.
  
  I use this command properly?
  
  Assuming I can get this command to work, my main problem is that this command must be run from the planning server. However my scripts batch to day to day on a different server, the Essbase server, so I need a way to run the update, call it my script of commands on the Essbase server. I'm needd to run everything in one package so that it can run sequentially.
  
  Is the way to go, cuberefresh.cmd or am I barking the wrong tree completely?

  I'm exploring the different auditing options that can be extracted from planning of database or log files Essbase. We use indigenous groups and externally authenticated users and are version 11.1.2.2

  I have two requirements and would like to hear your point of view if these is possible.

  * Necessary to extract the last opening date of session of a user for planning or SSP db?

  * How to find if an id is admin or no planning or SSP db?

  * Also I am unable to find the table where good names and email addresses are stored. However, I am able to extract web application for the shared services.

  The pointers will be appreciated.

  2. glance at the table HSP_USERS of your Planning application, there is a column called ROLE where 0 is for Admin, 1 = Scheduler; 2 = interactive; 3 = owner. You will then have to join this table CSS_USERS table of Shared Services to get the NAME of the user. (SID at IDENTITY_ID)

  3 CSS_USERS table stores the information of the user (name, identity, e-mail, first & last name...)

  I setup a new native admin for the planning application and then update a source of app planning data, restart planning and test to see if you get the same question.

  Also, I've seen questions when you have a username called Administrator in the announcement and one in the native user directory, if it isn't the cause to ensure that the user admin, excluded from the configuration of the AD

  You would use Essbase Studio to manage the planning, it really has nothing to do with the planning and studio for pure Essbase databases.

  If you want to extract in planning, perhaps you should look at FDMEE

  Is there anything wrong or something to watch out for when the restructuring of a database of planning via EAS or MaxL rather than through planning-> ManageDatabase-> RefreshDatabase. I don't think he is, but just wanted to get a second opinion from experts here. Thank you!

Is it possible in v.11.1.2.3 or v.11.1.2.2 planning to restrict access through shared Services so that a user is forced to access data through a form of planning Planning Excel Smartview and that the user cannot directly access the Essbase cube and run ad-hoc queries? We try to apply data and governance processes so that users must perform their updates and queries via the planning of forms in SmartView calc Manager rules are executed, etc.
