• Hyperion Planning and Essbase

  I have a question about how essbase is related to hyperion planning.  specifically, I would like to know if you can vectorize in essbase and then associate them with or have them cross to a hyperion planning an application.  I read that if you make a change to an essbase outline, and then refresh the hyperion application applications settings, including an outline, will be replaced.  It seems that master control is integrated with EPMA or hyperion planning because all the dimension and the main lines of work needs to be done here.  However, it seems to me that there may be times where you want everything works on and change the contour in essabase and have changes go through the application of EPMA, because it's maybe easier.  Is this true and if so, how do the changes so that they appear in the hyperion application that was created by EPMA.

  The flow is planning for Essbase, it cannot be reversed.

  If it's a planning request EPMA then the stream is EPMA > planning > Essbase

• Planning and Essbase security filters

  As I could not achieve security at the cellular level through planning, I changed for this user security filters in Essbase. Is there a problem if the security between planning and Essbase is not synchronized? We are on Hyperion 9.3.1.

  The only problem you will get really, it's that when you refresh planning with checked filters and then they will be recreated in essbase.

  I have three datases in my planning application.
  I'll perform a refresh from planning to Essbase.
  
  Is it possible to control what data base is updated?
  -If so, please tell me how. or point me to a resource that I can use as a guide.
  Or do I have to update all three, each time I have to perform a refresh?

  N ° Donot you specify a database in /d To understand this refresh job, first of all I would say to do a sample update from web Planning, which could chase away your confusion. These parameters are nothing, but what you choose as options when you cool down with the web console for planning.

  We have applications EPMA planning and Essbase in environment Hyperion 11.1.1.3 with all artifacts as Scripts, etc. reports for the file, business rules, rules.
  
  Now, we want to migrate these applications to the new installed 11.1.2.2 environment.

• Commissioning, provider Services and planning and Essbase

  I'm having a problem with users (planners planning) planning and Essbase added to Manager Data Source for a Shared Services provider connection.
  
  Here they are all on 11.1.1.3 and Excel 2003.
  
  I found that I have to configure planners as:
  (1) Essbase for administrators to add Essbase
  (2) shared Services Application creators to add planning
  
  If I don't do the foregoing, when planners are trying to add Essbase or planning (and Yes, I confirm that an Essbase admin means nothing for the addition of a planning server and vice versa for SSP app creator to Essbase), they get a "this operation is not permitted under your APS user account privileges.
  
  I'm desperately hoping that I have made a huge mistake and have neglected an incredibly obvious framework as the provisioning of planners for both roles above is simply not on, especially wrt Essbase.
  
  FWIW, if I add these connections as an administrator, disconnect and then connect to already added connections, everything is fine. However, it is a significant administrative burden and opens all kinds of security, calendar, questions etc.
  
  If anyone has experienced this? And more importantly, figured out how to fix this?
  
  I found a document Metalink re this error but it was around the creation of Smart slices. It is 20 miles down the road where I am right now.

  When you add the new server in the source of data for Essbase or planning manager it adds this APS Server and is available for all users. It should only need to be done once, and that is why it is an administrative task.

  I may be misunderstanding then please clarify if what I say is meaningless...

  Does anyone know how to reload the Essbase security filters after an update of the planning? My situation is that I have created in EA special security filters that my security requirements cannot be met by the size of managed in planning security. However, whenever I have to refresh my planning security, he erases my special effects filters in EA. Does anyone know how to get around this problem?   Yes, you can use maxl together again on the rise the filters and automate this process in a batch script.
  or you can use any of the API and write code to create the filters again.

  Is there anything wrong or something to watch out for when the restructuring of a database of planning via EAS or MaxL rather than through planning-> ManageDatabase-> RefreshDatabase. I don't think he is, but just wanted to get a second opinion from experts here. Thank you!

  When updating of planning it also pushes metadata changes to Essbase and the restructuring which of course wouldn't happen if running a restructuring of the side Essbase, other than that there is not much difference.

Is it possible in v.11.1.2.3 or v.11.1.2.2 planning to restrict access through shared Services so that a user is forced to access data through a form of planning Planning Excel Smartview and that the user cannot directly access the Essbase cube and run ad-hoc queries? • Refresh planning error

  We have a problem during the refresh. Here are the newly migrated prod to QA applications by copying of Oracle DB in the backend.   If you manually add a member who can easily be removed after the test, and then refresh the Member appear? Also stop/start in the EA application and change the outline to avoid any caching.

  I'm trying to find the username of the person who took a particular value using lock & send (essbase addin) or present the data option (smartview) in our cum Essbase implementation planning. I'm looking for in the HSP_AUDIT_RECORDS table for this.
  
  But HSP_AUDIT_RECORDS fact table stores records entered/editable data via essbase addin, given that the table is in the repository of planning?
  
  I need to change any value in my table of HSP_AUDIT_OPTIONS to activate this type of follow-up?

  Audit planning will record only the changes made through the planning interface (Web/SmartView). If they are using SmartView or the Add-In and directly connect to Essbase, then you will need to consider using the SSAUDIT option.

• Hyperion planning lsoing Essbase connection intermittently

  We are intermittently lose connection essbase and happens very often now

  We have the source of data for all test applications and have no problems

  We are also able to connect to applications using smart

  But when we open the planning form we got following error

  I setup a new native admin for the planning application and then update a source of app planning data, restart planning and test to see if you get the same question.

  Also, I've seen questions when you have a username called Administrator in the announcement and one in the native user directory, if it isn't the cause to ensure that the user admin, excluded from the configuration of the AD

  You would use Essbase Studio to manage the planning, it really has nothing to do with the planning and studio for pure Essbase databases.

  Hi all
  
  I can't connect to the server via EAS essbase. I get the following error.
  
  Error network [10061]: unable to connect to [essbaseservername.com:1423]
  The customer has expired waiting to connect to Essbase Agent using the TCP/IP protocol.
  Check your network connections.
  Also, make sure that the values for server and port are correct

  Have you checked essbase is definitely running, if yes try and connect via Maxl and check essbase.log and SharedServices_Security_Client.log
