Planning and Essbase security filters

Hi all

As I could not achieve security at the cellular level through planning, I changed for this user security filters in Essbase. Is there a problem if the security between planning and Essbase is not synchronized? We are on Hyperion 9.3.1.

Thanks in advance,
Prashanth

The only problem you will get really, it's that when you refresh planning with checked filters and then they will be recreated in essbase.

I'm having a problem with users (planners planning) planning and Essbase added to Manager Data Source for a Shared Services provider connection.

Here they are all on 11.1.1.3 and Excel 2003.

I found that I have to configure planners as:
    (1) Essbase for administrators to add Essbase
    (2) shared Services Application creators to add planning

If I don't do the foregoing, when planners are trying to add Essbase or planning (and Yes, I confirm that an Essbase admin means nothing for the addition of a planning server and vice versa for SSP app creator to Essbase), they get a "this operation is not permitted under your APS user account privileges.

I'm desperately hoping that I have made a huge mistake and have neglected an incredibly obvious framework as the provisioning of planners for both roles above is simply not on, especially wrt Essbase.

FWIW, if I add these connections as an administrator, disconnect and then connect to already added connections, everything is fine. However, it is a significant administrative burden and opens all kinds of security, calendar, questions etc.

If anyone has experienced this? And more importantly, figured out how to fix this?

I found a document Metalink re this error but it was around the creation of Smart slices. It is 20 miles down the road where I am right now.

When you add the new server in the source of data for Essbase or planning manager it adds this APS Server and is available for all users. It should only need to be done once, and that is why it is an administrative task.

    Hi all

We have applications EPMA planning and Essbase in environment Hyperion 11.1.1.3 with all artifacts as Scripts, etc. reports for the file, business rules, rules.

Now, we want to migrate these applications to the new installed 11.1.2.2 environment.

  • Planning of special security filters

When I create security filters in environmental assessments on a database of planning, I can't find the filters in Shared Services for what I can provide the specific user/group. Can someone here point out where I'm going, more precisely in the SS to assign the filter? I ran the update of the Regional service SS so that security syncs to the EAS SS.

What I'm trying to test, is if a user can be provided with read/write different privileges against for most of the similar data points. For example, I want to give the user write access on behalf of "Airfare fees", cost centre and 'California' entity. But for the same user, I want to only give him access to the same account, B Center of cost, but only of the "Western Region" parent member, who has 'California' as one of child members in reading. Is this possible? I was going to try it by creating the read-only security filter in the EA and specifying read only intersections, then assign this filter to the desired user/group.

    Hello
In Hyperion planning security is assigned via the customer web planning & then when you refresh the security filters in essbase are created automatically. If you want to have a security filter based anything else that filters that are automatically generated, then you will need to write a Maxl custom to create these filters post updating of planning security. Whenever security is refreshed from the side planning manual filter you have possibly set is removed & you can see the filters that are automatically generated by the system.

    Thank you!

  • Hyperion Planning - display of security filters

    Hello Oracle Hyperion Planning gurus,

I have a question. I have two applications Hyperion Planning. I've been editing filter security for users and have found an inconsistency.

In one application, the user name is present as a given name + family name, and in the other application, the user name is displayed as user name.

I tried to be consistent and change the view, but I wasn't able to find anything.

Is there a setting for this option?

I've attached screenshots for your comment.

    username1.JPG

As noted above, the username is indicated by first name + last name

    username2.JPG

As noted above, the user name appears by username.

Two applications are built on the same version of planning an application. Does anyone know how to change this setting?

The tables are generated by going under Administration tab-> manage-> security filters

    Thank you in advance,

    Luke

Have you tried the Administration > Application > settings

Display the full name of the user, change the setting to Yes/No and save

  • Hyperion Planning and Essbase

I have a question about how essbase is related to hyperion planning.  specifically, I would like to know if you can vectorize in essbase and then associate them with or have them cross to a hyperion planning an application.  I read that if you make a change to an essbase outline, and then refresh the hyperion application applications settings, including an outline, will be replaced.  It seems that master control is integrated with EPMA or hyperion planning because all the dimension and the main lines of work needs to be done here.  However, it seems to me that there may be times where you want everything works on and change the contour in essabase and have changes go through the application of EPMA, because it's maybe easier.  Is this true and if so, how do the changes so that they appear in the hyperion application that was created by EPMA.

The flow is planning for Essbase, it cannot be reversed.

If it's a planning request EPMA then the stream is EPMA > planning > Essbase

  • ASO Plan type of problem of security filters planning application

    Hello

We have a planning application that has 3 plantypes BSO and a kind of ASO. Security for the OSB is made by the secFile.txt and works perfectly. For the ASO cube, we tried to create filters and their allocation to the groups, but we receive the below error

"Cannot change the access authorization on the application of planning in shared services mode.

The groups are provisioned with Planner for the planning application and the access under the Cluster Essbase server.

Groups or user tables are displayed as planning instead of planning and Essbase.

Please let us know how to create filters and their assignment to the plantype of ASO by EAS/Maxl planning without errors (syntax is known)

    version 11.1.2.4

    Public sector, planning an application

    Cube DP_ASO

It is designed to be used via the planning layer and not directly to Essbase, you can access the layer of planning using Smart View and reports

  • Security filters for the Types of Plan of ASO in 11.1.2.3

    All,

My understanding of security filters for the Types of Plan of ASO in 11.1.2.3, is that they are not as robust as Types of Plan of traditional BSO are. Is this true? If so, can I restrict access to users who are assigned to the ASO Plan Type to display only and read/write on the private accounts and entities (for example)?

    Thanks in advance.

The limitation that you refer is a bit confusing.  In summary, the planning will not create Essbase security filters on a data base of the ASO.  However, this does NOT mean that you will not have security on the Type of Plan of ASO.  Instead, it depends on which tool you are using to access the Type of Plan of ASO.

If you want to connect to the ASO Plan type planning or tool (e.g., EN) with a connection to planning, you'll be fine.  The planning gets its security filters Essbase security information.  It gets its information from the relational repository security.  So the planning and the EN (with a connection to planning) are supported.  Security works as you would expect, even for the Type of Plan of ASO.

If you want to connect on the type of Plan of ASO with something that requires a * Essbase * (not planning) connection, it only is not supported out-of-the-box, because planning will not create filters on the ASO cube (at least not yet in this version).  However, there is nothing that prevents you from creating filters on your own.  I usually manage all of my safety in an Excel/VBA model that allows me to export/import the Essbase security planning and.  This allows me to apply specific to Essbase filters after a refresh (by importing the custom filters via MaxL).

So the question is... what tool you will use to access the Type of Plan of ASO?  If you use a connection of planning, you're good.  If you use a connection of Essbase, should be a personalized approach.

    Hope this helps,

    -Jake

  • Planning of security filters

    Hi all

In planning, configure us security on dimension members and urge them to essbase. These created in planning security filters... .do appear in eassbase...

In essbase filters there... are these the same as created in the planning & pushed into essbase filters?

Yes the filters will appear in essbase, if you go in EAS and do a right-click on the database, change the filters, filters against the user, you will see, they start with an f then the username e.g. fUser1
They follow the same concept between essbase and planning, you have more depth of features if you create filters directly to the essbase database.
The filters can be edited, but remember once you refresh the filters of the planning they will be recreated.

    So far, we have made

We have removed the ssl configuration by running the Configurator

    Reconfigure the web server

Reconfigure the web server to the logical address

Without success. Can someone help and advise you on what we should consider now

    Hello

If you are able to connect to the server of Maxl Essbase.

    1. I suggest you to take a look at the Source of data for planning application. Since it is an Active/Passive with SSL configuration URL would now

    http://host: port/aps/Essbase? NOMCLUSTER = cluster_name

Note: ssl = true is removed at the end

    2.

Change of the APS resolve URLS in the file essbase.cfg. Delete "https" and replace it with 'http' (Ref: https://docs.oracle.com/cd/E17236_01/epm.1112/esb_tech_ref/frameset.htm?apsresolver.html )

    3. Regional service Console problem

You may need to cancel some things

    a. download jnlp and change the URL, remove port 443 and https. Change it accordingly to http and the port of SST (def 19000). Save and open again.

    b. in the Weblogic administration Console, you must disable "Enable the Plugin" some option like this that allow us once the SSL configuration for Regional service

  • Essbase security 11.1.2.1 - filters grayed out

    Hello

I am logged in as administrator of Shared Services and Essbase user.

I create a new user 'Billy' in Shared Services. I have set up this user with 'Server Access' and 'Filter' access on the desired application. In environmental assessments, I created a filter named "test". I view the users table and right-click on my new user 'Billy '. Under the tab "App/Db Access" I break through to the database, I want to filter access. I get there and it shows access 'Filter' However when I expand the node to assign the filter 'test', it is grayed out and not allow me to assign?

I am confused, as if I go in the other direction through "edit filters", it's the same. "Assign users and groups" are grey on this road...

I also see that the "refresh security of Shared Services" is no longer available in 11.1.2.1? What is probably my problem? When I right click 'security' in EA is not one of my choices.

    Confused :(

Have you read the documentation: http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E17236_01/epm.1112/hss_admin/frameset.htm?ch08s04s09.html

    Specifically, this bit?

Filter, select the security filter database to which users need access.

That's all you need to do. There is No assignment of filters in environmental assessment in Shared Services mode.

    Kind regards

  • LCM causes Essbase security to rewrite and can connect is more.

When you use LCM and migration Foundation / Shared Services and loading it back from the file.

He was crushing sort something with Essbase security so no users (including the administrator) can connect. Through the Regional service or work space / planning

Any suggestions how to reset it? Is what Essbase is more connected to Shared services somehow. This is clearly a bug because it is impossible that this is possible. But hoping that someone has seen this before and allowed a work around.

If you can. Log in to the system as a master administrator Essbase EAS and update the security of shared services.

Otherwise, you must kill the essbase.sec file and make it reset the Essbase master user. This should be done carefully, but you can cause the environment to become corrupt if all steps are not done properly

  • All the members (but 1) are removed from the entity dimension in planning and deployed to essbase. -What are the data deleted in essbase so? / The data can be restored by restoring the entity dimension?

All the members (but 1) are removed from the entity dimension in planning and deployed to essbase.

-What are the data deleted in essbase so?

The data can be restored by restoring the entity dimension? EPMA the entity dimension is still in tact.

It is unclear what exectly arrived, but looks like a change was made in the dimension entity planning (not EPMA) and then deployed (successfully).

In essbase, we see that the entity dimension has only one member left for the appropriate plan types, as in the planning.

If you remove members and then push that yes the essbase data is deleted, if you need back then you will need to go back to your restore process.
