Play instead of download MP3 files or video

When iam downloading videos or mp3 files that he started playing insread of download

Thanks philipp. I just spent two hours trying to understand this point, check all my settings, uninstalling software from reading that I thought may be trying to take, etc. I even did a system restore trying to solve this problem. Would be really nice if a feature like this have been listed in the options settings, or if a person asked if they wanted this before he just took their settings. Maybe this suggestion can be passed along to the right people.

A really strange thing is the same thing has happened to Google Chrome as well as the same remedy does not seem to apply. Well, I only use Chrome for purposes of test in any case.

Thanks for providing the answer.

  • How can I force Firefox to download mp3 files and NOT play?

    Hi guys,.

I couldn't change the settings of Firefox in this way, that it does not play mp3 files at all (in any kind of player), but allows to decide what with them for example to download the file.

    What I actually did:

    - changed at settings, that I want a dialog or download any file type and NOT use any other option (yes, all of them - not any kind of effect was seen there...)
    - changed especially all mp3-related options to download
    - deactivated ALL plugins and addons
    - about:config -> media.windows-media-foundation.enabled -> false
    - uninstalled ALL types of mediaplayers (Winamp, VLC etc.), but not WMP because it would be very complicated and would cause several bugs

Many updates before (I think it's up to 20 FF or if) you could simply tell FF, I tried to download the file via the settings and now it isn't.

Is it possible to left I can force Firefox to NOT READ mp3 files in any player and offer my the possibility to download?

Please do NOT give answers like:

    - right click on the file and save it as ... I allready know that and do not want to use that solution. A few years before it was possible, so it should also be possible to directly click at the file and decide what to do with it. On all the sites I want to use it the possibilities are given and not blocked by the sites or implementations itself.

I thank very you much for your help in advance. I'm desperately trying to find an answer to this question for months...

Hello TurZ, please set media.windows - media - foundation.enabled back to its default value and turn media.play - stand alone false instead.

  • How can I download mp3 files burned on a disc, then synchronize it with my ipod?

Download mp3 disc and then sync to ipod

    Hi delvecc,

Thank you for the responses of Microsoft Windows Vista Forum.

To download the MP3 files burned on a disk to your computer, follow these steps:

    1. Insert the audio CD in the CD drive, and then click the Rip tab.

By default, the player begins ripping the CD automatically when the tab extract is selected. For information about how to modify this behavior, see change settings for ripping.

    2. when the player begins ripping the CD, clear the check boxes next to all the songs you do not want to rip (this is optional) or click on Rip Stop, make your selections and click Start Rip to restart ripping. (Partially ripped songs are not saved).

After the songs have been ripped, you can find and play in your library.

Ripped files are automatically added to the Player library. On your computer, the files are in the folder specified on the tab extract music from the Options dialog box. You can change the folder at any time.

Unlike other MP3 players, iPods use the software Apple iTunes to transfer music to music devices. Using iTunes, you can store a music library on your computer, burn music to CD, transfer photos, videos, applications of game and small, and many other features.

If you are using Windows Vista, you must go to the Apple web site and download iTunes for your version of Vista.  Then you can sync your iPod.

  • When I updated to Firefox 5 has been disabled my realplayer downloader and now I don't know how to download mp3 files.

the downloader realplayer download mp3 and then diverted to copy on the ipod. When Firefox updated for Firefox 5, a pop up says that the module of realplayer was inconsistent... so now when my mp3 play I do not know how to get to itunes so I can get it to the ipod.

Because of security vulnerabilities, roll back to Firefox 4.0.1 is discouraged.

Here is the process to roll back to 3.6:

First of all, I recommend you backup your Firefox settings in case something goes wrong. See your backup information. (You can copy your profile folder Firefox together somewhere outside the Mozilla folder).

Then, download and save Firefox 3.6 on your desktop for later installation. http://www.Mozilla.com/Firefox/all-older

    Firefox is closed 5.

You could install Firefox 3.6 on it (many have reported success) or you can uninstall Firefox first. If you uninstall, do not remove your personal data and settings, the entire program.

Unless you have installed an incompatible add-on, Firefox 3.6 should pick up where you left. If there are serious questions, please post back with details.

Note: I have not actually tried myself!

  • Play a beep without mp3 file

It is possible to play a beep on the Tablet without any music file?

Beep, I hear a noise, under Windows (in C++), I can play with the function beep (frequency, time) (using windows.h)

Of course you can.  There's a SampleDataEvent allowing you to spit raw samples to the speakers (more or less).  See the example in the docs.

Depending on what you're really trying to do, however, there may be better options.

  • MEDIA PLAYER for .mp3 files and download and play .asx files old version of the weekly radio program

I quite often download or listen to a radio show which is broadcast live every Sunday morning and the program is available to download (mp3 file) or listen to (asx file) until the new program is broadcast a week later.  I have rarely listen to the program when it is broadcast live, but sometimes listen live on other programs of that station with no problems.

Last week I downloaded last week program and everything was ok.  Today, I downloaded program yesterday (February 24) and he started to play with an introduction to the program of the weeks previous (February 17).  I asked a friend to try on his computer and he managed to download the latest program with no problems.  So I've established that the radio station is not at fault, but there must be a problem with my Media Player.

So far, I updated Windows Media Center the default player for each type of file (with file association) and it did not work, I followed by assigning Windows Media Player and that had no effect either.  I deleted the files downloaded after every attempt to avoid the player pick up the old file.

Is the association of file replace Autorun settings?

I use Firefox as my browser but you have tried Google Chrome, and the result is the same, IE. last weeks program times.

I don't know what else to try so would appreciate your help.

  • I can't download to work - it does not copy the mp3 files to my location (as defined in tools/options) - it gives me a new window with a player - no dwnlo

I am running windows xp sp2 and I put my site to dowload under (Tools/options), but when I select an MP3 file to download, firefox does NOT copy the file to my location of choice on my HD - instead, it opens a new window with a 'player' of fortune and starts to load the player with the MP3 file. The problem is that I have no idea where on my system, firefox has copied this file, so, I can't leave and come back later and read this MP3 file using winamp. I need to hear right then or lose - if I close this new window (with this puny little ' player'), then I lose the download, there where to put firefox on my PC (I have no idea where it is). It's all under firefox 25.0

I also use FIrefox 12.0 on an older windows 2000 machine and that works perfectly - I can download any MP3 file, I want to, and downloads of firefox 12.0 (on win2k, sp4) to my location (on my HD), and it gives me the download window so I can watch its progress and have some control over break and resume , and, when it's done, the download window offers me the option 'open containing folder' so I can make sure that where I wanted. In other words, Firefox 12.0 on WIn2k, sp4 works better than firefox on winxp sp2 25.0! What gives? I went through and set up my options for XP just like I did with Win2k and everything looks good, but firefox 25.0 don't know just my chosen and always default place to give me fortune player and I am not able to actually copy the mp3 files on my hard drive - it's firerox almost unusable 25.0 since downloading mp3 files is a big part of my use firexfox - please help. I am not able to upgrade windows at this time, and since firefox 12.0 still works fine on win2k, I do not understand what has happened to firefox?

  • Some MP3 files are not recognized by Fuze

I have a 4 GB Fuze v1. I got this as a Christmas present and want to use it to listen to Audio and video podcasts. I updated the Firmware from V01.01.22A. My problem with him that some MP3 files will not be recognized. MP3 files are on the card of 2 GB external so I, MPT/MSC mode does not matter. For example, "NPR: CarTalk Podcast" in format mp3 will not play but "The Index Investing Show" podcast also in mp3 format will play very well. I first noticed it with downloaded mp3 files iTunes, I do not think it is an iTunes related issue because the same podcast downloaded directly from the NPR site will also fail. No idea what is the problem? Here is the link to the download of the podcast (use the button download MP3/4): http://www.npr.org/rss/podcast/podcast_detail.php?siteId=9911203

I solved the problem first I used Any Audio Converter to convert MP3 to MP3 with the same audio features. The file is converted to the same sheet worked! I noticed converted file was not any ID3 tag information in the original file. After playing a bit with MP3Tag software and tags removal began, I found that the offending tag has been KIND on the value of 'Podcast '. Fuze does not recognize "Podcast" in the field of the kind so he simply ignored, rather than list it under "unknown". In my view, that it is a bug. Sansa must list the MP3 files under Tote 'Unknown' when 'Genre' tag is present, but the value does not match any of the existing tags.

  • Only the MP3 files?

    man, that sucks!

I bought the sansa fuze, expecting to be able to load completely in the evening, but that (after too much additional research) discovered that I can only download MP3 files on it! which means that I have to change all my CD into MP3 files (I don't know why, but they just differently)...

is really the only way to do it? or did I do something wrong?

The purpose of the use of mp3 files, rather than on your CD WAV files is to move, five to ten times as much music in the same amount of storage and the sound quality has always be good enough.

You can use what version of Windows Media Player is already on your pc to rip to mp3 files. Simply start the program, click the extract and select mp3 for the format. Click rip again and choose the bitrate. I recommend the use of 192 or 256 kbps. The more the bitrate, the better is the sound quality, but the less will be the music player. I use 256 Kbps. Some who want more music on their drive use 128 Kbps. 128 Kbps sound much worse than the quality of a CD, while 256 Kbps sounds like the CD to many people. I don't hear the differnce between 256 kbps and 320 kbps. 192 Kbps always sounds nice to me, but not as good as 256 Kbps. I don't like how sounds 128 Kbps.

AAC files to mp3 conversion will result in a lower sound quality. A better idea is to make the MP3s directly from the CD.

  • Firefox plays after clicking on links for her instead of display the dialog box for play/download mp3/wav

Firefox when trying to play wavs/mp3s after clicking on link to it instead of display the dialog to open/download. In preferences on the applications tab, I always chose "ask" in the types of wav and mp3 files, but it does not solve this problem.

Firefox will play the file if you have a drive installed that supports the mime type that the server sends to this file.

  • Firefox will not play SermonConnect mp3 files that have been uploaded to Amazon S3 server using S3 Organizer after 2014 7. Already downloaded the files OK.

Files uploaded to the Amazon S3 server are accessible via our Web site at littlecountrychurch.org. All multimedia files downloaded before January 7, 2014, be played properly on our media page. Files uploaded after January 7 refuses to play on the Firefox browser. To add to the confusion, other browsers Chrome, Safari, Internet Explorer on Windows and Mac-play these files correctly. In addition, an older version of Firefox on an XP laptop plays files correctly. We even ran a test by downloading a working of the S3 server, re-uploaded the file file and Firefox would not read the freshly downloaded file, but he continued to play the same file previously downloaded without problem.

The problem is the content-type header sent to S3. The old MP3s are designated "audio/mpeg", which is perfect. Newcomers are designated "application/download", which does not work in Firefox native HTML5 audio player. (The inset on the screenshots is pasted from a screenshot of the Fiddler proxy).

On a normal web server, all .mp3 files usually served in the same folder have the same content type. Something seems different about Amazon storage, perhaps based on a difference in their environment "backstage."
