PlayBook offer eligibility

Hey, I would like to know if I am eligible for the offer of the PlayBook.

I developed an application for android but havnt published on the android market.

Can I port to BlackBerry and submit it even if I don't have it in the android market?

Thank you

Aqib

For sure... the Android Market has nothing to do with the PlayBook or the RIM. You can pretend it does not exist.

  • How to contact support? (Questions about the presentation + Playbook offers)

    Hello

I just got an email saying my app "is approved however will have to stay in the"Approved"State until the questions below are corrected."

On this basis, I have 2 questions:

Q1: does this mean that I am accepted for the offer of playbook? (I submitted before the deadline and received a previous email on this remind me to sign the app)

Q2: it says that the problem is that I don't have an icon - "please you check the App icon, it doesn't seem to show when loading on a playbook."- but on my end, when I test everything seems fine. Any ideas why this happens?

    I'd appreciate your comments!

    Thank you

    Suraj-

Sorry I can't speak on behalf of the App World approval team.  They will provide guidance on your acceptance of the offer of the playbook.

Regarding your question on the icons, what size and file format you use for your icon?  Make sure it is a PNG 86 x 86 file, otherwise it can not be made on the home screen (can appear invisible if the correct size is used).

  • Playbook free eligibility question

    Hello. I had a question:

I submitted an application and had a code signature problem. When I discovered a solution, I discovered that I needed to have the same code as before key signing, and I do not have... So I renamed my old APP (Appname) - delete and if I made a new layout with fixed code signature... but I'm still eligible? It is not my first application I presented during the free period of Playbook...

Am I still eligible, even though this is my second application submitted during the period of the offer? The first application was not approved due to problems of code signing.

    Thank you

    ~ Jonathan K

As far I can tell if you submit before the deadline and you are eligible.  It is then up to the RIM client to approve your app.  You can submit as many applications as you want, but you won't get a PB if you are accepted.

  • App must be signed to win playbook?

    Hello

    I read this post.

    http://supportforums.BlackBerry.com/T5/Web-development/code-sign-a-WebWorks-PlayBook-app/TD-p/838599

According to the developer of level 1 the app doesn't have to be signed to qualify a playbook offering.

However, I got an e-mail saying.

"BlackBerry App World notice - release of denied file.

"Please verify that the new version is signed.

Which is in contradiction with what the forumer. Does this mean that my application is not to test further because it is not signed? If someone could check it?

And this is not to say if my application have bug/room for improvements, whether...

I went to get a signed key right after the email I have to wait up to 2 business days.

    I'm really disappointed.

As I understand it, your application must be signed.  I say this, is because the intention of the Add app must be placed in the App World to download for a production PlayBook.   If it is accepted it will be placed in the App World

Your application runs only on a PlayBook, if it is signed and is thus a condition to be accepted.

He might have a point in the past where Code Signing was not yet available, where they accept submissions that were not signed during this period.

  • Cannot get the job of the ripple!

Hi, I tried all of the solutions posted in other topics and don't arrive waving to work at all.  It opens and displays a blank screen.  The only thing I can do is right-click and "inspect the system.  I have already changed the config.ini, run ripple.exe and node.exe in compatibility mode, disabled windows firewall and am not behind a proxy.  What can I do else? Is there a newspaper to look at?

IM on an Acer Aspire 5542-5241 with graphics card ATI Radeon HD 4200 using Win7 32 bit.

    Any suggestion?

    Thanks in advance!

    Erik,

Thanks for responding!  Finally I work... Let me tell you what happened: all the messages spoke of changing the "config.ini" file, but neither said where was this file is located.  I started searching and found this site:

    [USER]C:\Users\------\Researchdata applicationin Motion\Ripple

with a config.ini file.  I changed and nothing happened.  Now that you got told to watch

    [USER]C:\Users\------AppData\Roaming\Research in Motion\Ripple

I found that there is another file config.ini with the windowContent bad value (index.html) and a bunch of other things.

So, I went to my place of origin (Application Data) and copied the contents of the value of windowContent (http://developer.blackberry.com/ripple/).

Changed the file config.ini in AppData with this value and started waving.  WORKS!

Too bad I missed the PlayBook offers...

You should take a look at the installer... If he would have written the correct value in the right place, there would have been no problem...

Once again, thank you for answering! Hope this post helps one with the same problem as me...

  • Keys ordered 26 hours ago code signing. 13 hours left.

    Hello

I ordered the code signing keys 26 hours, so 11/02/2012 at 09:12 (GMT + 1). I sent an email yesterday 12 hours after my order to the consultation support by email ([email protected]), but they have not responded. So, I asked new code signing keys and this morning, still nothing for two orders...

It is usually not a problem, but here the Playbook offer ends in 13 hours.

Is it possible to send the app without signing? I guess not.

If anyone knows how to do this now? Can someone to Blackberry apparently in it? I've seen on forums that counsel from dev to Blackberry enabled some app devs to have their process ID accelerated...

    Kind regards

a somewhat disappointed by Blackberry at the moment Android dev.

If you do not receive your keys at the end of the 13. Feb just present your application unsigned. You do not download and will have to transfer once more (signed), but you still qualify for the free PlayBook (as counties of submission, not actual approval).

a somewhat disappointed by Blackberry at the moment Android dev.

Next time just do your homework better I would like to start by ordering the signing keys (even before thinking what app to convert), since it is the only thing out of my control.

  • Unable to download Playbbook Simulator

    Hi all

We already have our two app approved for playbook.

Now we need to re - submit after signing.but I try to download the latest Simulator of

    http://us.BlackBerry.com/developers/Tablet/Adobe.jsp

but we get a blocker popup alert and if we allow it, it redirects to some other download.

We tried this browser and various machines.

    everyone knows about this matter?

Also please let me know if we send our build signed after March 31, we will be still eligible for playbook offers which we approved by our unsigned application.

What site are redirected to? It will take you to the login page of dev. If you don't have a login to support dev (different from these forums and different from sellers id) then simply scroll down and enter your information. He wil then allow you to download it.

  • Send offer PlayBook

    Hello

I submitted my app on 3/20, and it was approved on 3/31 around 7 pm PST.

I did not receive the e-mail about the free playbook again.

I need to make my application available in the app store of BB before being able to get email for the playbook?

I projected a minor revision of my application and decided to make this version available... but I don't know if I need to make the currently approved version available in order to get my email for the playbook.

    Any help would be appreciated!

    Thank you.

PS. I submitted a second application playbook 31 at 8:17 pm PST (i.e. before the deadline of 11:59 HE), but I noticed that all the time in history (and tickets) seem to be GMT. I'm assuming that they take into account, because my second application said he introduced 4/1 due to the hour GMT (vs PST 3/31 / time AND).

    Thank you guys.

I * just * got my offers free playbook by e-mail... so I'm happy! :-)

  • Too late for the free offer PlayBook?

    Hello

I don't know if this is the appropriate section of this post, but I'll put it here anyway...

I presented my PlayBook application in time for the free offer of the PlayBook, but it has not been approved at the time. In the email I received, they said that if I fixed it after the deadline, its OK again. I solved the problem and he approved last week.

Nobody knows who should I contact about the offer? I replied to the email I got, but I did not receive a response.

    Thank you

  • Eligibility of free promotion PlayBook

With the news of a new promotion: http://us.blackberry.com/developers/tablet/playbook_offer2012.jsp

I would like to know if those who have received a PlayBook for free promotion last year (ending March 31) are eligible to receive a free PlayBook of this promotion also.

I looked through the terms and conditions http://us.blackberry.com/developers/tablet/terms_conditions2012.jsp and I don't see anything that would mark someone as ineligible from previous promotions, but I would not claim to fully understand all aspects of the c & T.

I have a good app to submit, I'm just curious to know the details.

Alan, check this tweet from Alec Saunders (RIM VP Dev Relations):

I guess the answer to your question is 'yes '.

  • Question for all developers, who participated in the offer of Playbook 2012

    Hello

Ive got a question for all the developers who participated in the BB PB 2012 bid. Have you received E-mail about your shipping information (giving your address for shipping) immediately with enamel, that said, that your application has been approved? or did you get it later?

    Thank you.

    A few days later.

  • Toshiba offers Cashback 3 g in the United Kingdom

    Hello

    I just ordered a Toshiba S300 11 G and a 3 G Modem to take advantage of the mail-in rebate offer of £150.00 detailed here: http://uk.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/news_article.jsp?service=UK&ID=3g-mobile-broadband

The terms and conditions link, I read that the cashback is for only companies that can claim back VAT? Is it just said so that the "top Free mobile broadband" which attracted me to the Toshiba do violate any rule of advertising with regard to persons who cannot claim VAT refund they always pay the part of VAT and so it is not free? Or will be rejected my request for the cashback with me being not not a business?

I'm a COMPUTER developer who wanted to pay a little more for the area of activity of Toshiba to get something a little more robust, but that does not give me a business customer. So I feel a little annoyed that I could be excluded from the offer that it makes it not obvious from the outset, the offer is for business only. Also, this offer is announced on the UK merchant websites that show the price included VAT as they target consumers rather than businesses, so it is a bit misleading.

I hope someone can quickly confirm if the offer is rejected for me that I can cancel the order.

    Concerning

    Phil

    Hello

I don t know this offer and I saw him for the first time on the Toshiba page.
But why do you ask for more details?
On the page, you will find that all need information:

+ Cash back can be claimed on a maximum of eligible portable 25 per customer per month during the eligibility period. Cash back can be claimed for direct purchases from the website of 3 or 3 stores. Promoting Mobile Broadband Cash Back of £150 and promoting Toshiba Options Cash Back of £150 can be used together on the same laptop computer. S Toshiba Cash Back promotions are for purchases of business only. +

    Welcome them

  • PlayBook Simulator does not start

When I try to launch the Simulator Playbook in VMPlayer in Windows 7, I get the following:

Someone help me with this please?

Well, now it seems vmplayer v4.0.2 was barely out of this jan.27.

nobody on Board has probably even notice.

I have uninstalled and installed the former 3.1.5 and no sign of this problem until now (I touch wood.)

    REALLY RIM!

no excuse to do this, if you want to rely on 3rd party software you will need to VALIDATE specific

versions of this software, and either provide the download yourself or be named version

    number in your documentation.

I discovered the offer free playbook 6 days before the deadline, I lost two of my days (evening)

screwing around with this problem. no way, I do now

Well, at least I can relax this weekend instead of in a frenzy of coding.

(Communicator full: when install vmplayer v3.1.5 I also added the boot option/usepmtimer XP - but I'm sure it)

is not the problem/cure. (after that all v4 worked once or twice every time you start before screwing and locking a resource.)

  • Supply BB playbook: MXML vs Air

Hi there, don't hang me if the question seems stupid: is there a difference between building an application MXML based and by subclass Sprite?

Are all such requests are allowed for the supply of Playbook?

    Thank you.

    Hey,.

Nobody is hanging around here, so no worries, and welcome to the forum! the difference between MXML and "using a subclass of sprite" (im going to guess that you're talking about actionscript 3) is the structure of the code.

in MXML, the Foundation of it looks a lot like HTML, but it also includes scripts in actionscript 3. Your main application file will be in a .mxml format. There are some specific classes of playbook, that you will not be able to access for reasons of incompatibility. but there is work around if you look around forums.

The other alternative is using actionscript code 3 and structure. Here you are not using any MXML coding and you simply use OOP coding style to get what you want. Here you will meet a few missing classes such as MX packages.

There are more differences, but these are the basic ones. and the last webinar from yesterday, the two encoding format are acceptable for the offer. hope that helps and good luck!
