Player arrested combo recoginising recordable media
Have a problem with the SD-r2212 starnge in my notebook. Worked fine, then one day went to write from XP (SP2) and accepted the "write" command, but when it came to actual writing does not recognize blank DVDs bed CD - r and CD ok. Others from the same box of CD - R on this drive used without problem, so no media problem. I tried the various forums etc and tried to reinstall the drive several times and he returned to full function, then a week later stopped recognizing blank CD - r again. Has anyone seen this problem before, and if so, how it was fixed?
Thank you
Hello

I am using windows 7 Pro SP1 64-bit with the last update for now,
(UPDATED with CORRECTION)
"desktop.ini" with detail files [.] [ShellClassInfo]... shell32.dll,-21815 will no longer appear when a writable media in the drive.
I suspect that it was abnormal and error of windows system, the first time I run the PC after reformatting and restoring, there was no such desktop.ini in the recordable media. I notice it start up after microsoft windows LIVE essential and games for windows LIVE installation.
I have made many try hard but he still see the intermittently. even with security update and latest ms windows, updates essential...
first step, type "regedit" in start search, to run the registry editor program.
then go to the Edit menu, and then search FOR "shell32.dll,-21815", in:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FolderDescriptions\ {...}
check with "shell32.dll,-21815" and the relative path "Microsoft\Windows\burn\burn."
If so found,
Export the registry and save it as burner.reg. then,
only remove the "localizedname' and the 'attributes' and keep the rest. (CORRECTION)
then FIND 'Windows\Burn\', look for this register with the address "c:\user\...\AppData\...". Microsoft\Windows\burn\burn' or
"Microsoft\Windows\Burn\Burn", or
"c:\user\...\AppData\...". File Microsoft\Windows\burn\temporary to burn' Rename 'c:\user\...\AppData\... '. Microsoft\Windows\burn\burn,"
"Microsoft\Windows\Burn\Temporary Burn Folder" rename it to "Microsoft\Windows\Burn\Burn".
ensure that it was 'Microsoft\Windows\burn\burn', look after pressing F3 keyboard will repeat the same task...
Close regedit.
THEN go to the \AppData\local\microsoft\windows\burn C:\user\(your user account), delete the folder "burn" or "temporary burn folder" or both if available.
Then make a new folder name 'burn '. , restart the computer, note start the computer to the top of windows significantly faster...
FINISHING WORK, SOLVE it... the desktop.ini will never appear in the recordable media player. all normal, can burn the recordable, the file to be burn save temporary burn folder will delete automatically after burning, everything as usual, no error.
(CORRECTION)
I suspect the the desktop.ini performed from the Games for Windows LIVE search software keep for any PC games in the hard drive and remove-able, perhaps from this, the computer run more slowly than the condition of freshly reformatted / PC Restore. It acts like a virus that prevents the monitor and look for any PC games... and record them in the registry.
After of many trials/try, I noticed the access special setting by clicking with the right button on the optical drive for assets, the menu "registration", the parameters cannot be change and save/apply.
(eject the disc after burning master, temporary folder except location,...)
I found the solution, to keep the registry than the note above for deletion to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FolderDescriptions\ {...},
with "shell32.dll,-21815" and the relative path with "Microsoft\Windows\burn\burn."
only remove the "localizedname' and the 'attributes' and keep the rest.
Restart the PC, everything should be normal. Settings menu for registration in the optical drive capital can be adjust and apply / save, desktop.ini nomore see in the optical drive
everything is normal. everything should be good as another user account, DIFFICULTY TOTAL and RESOLVED

When I copy a CD in Windows Media Player 11 does not apply media information.
With the XP sp3 operating system, I rip the CD purchased and Windows Media Player 11 does not apply media information. Either he gives and error saying that it cannot be done because I am not connected to the internet while I'm connected, or it can recognize my internet connection, but I have to do a manual search and manually apply the name of each track, even if they are present and order under each line I have to click to match the name of the correct track.
It's so frustrating to have to fight manually for applied information on the media which is clearly presented, and after all, album art that shows correctly in the finder info media constantly refuses to fill in the library and I have to go to a separate Web site and copy and paste it in. Yes, he found elsewhere on the internet, with the help of the connection which was present all along!
It's crazy, the info is already there! And why do I go online in any case the info is in the CD? This doesn't seem to be a problem with the previous players. Please provide a fix for this useless, frustrating dinosaur, waste of time, a process!

Player BD or Media Player which will play records / iso from USB, including menus?
I'm looking for a BD Player (or media center) with a USB port which will play (with Menus!) of blu - ray files or an ISO file that is stored on USB thumb drive connected.
The media box WD Live play, but not with the menus. The menus are mandatory for me. As BD players need to play disc menus, I thought (we hope!) maybe a BD drive with a USB port could play the menus of the USB drive also. It seems that menus is what features many (and software) are struggling with.
I create my Blu - Ray and images files using again, but I don't want to make the Blu - Ray disc. Files and images work very well, and I can play them (with Menus!) with only a few players on my PC. I want to be able to update these files on a USB key and play to my TV without the need of a PC.
Please let me know if know a particular brand and model number of a BD player or a media player that can do this.
Thank you.
I doubt that this practice is common. And here's one:

DVD player does not recognize some media on Satellite A30-514
I own a laptop Satellite A30-514 with Microsoft xp OS. For some time, some DVD (no games) will not play of the drive. some other not. It is not a problem of region - they are all region 2. Windows does not read the disc when inserted and does not record a disc in the drive when I show 'my computer '. CD is the game normally. This could be a (internal) driver problem or my CD DVD combo is all just too old now?
Thank you, Mary.
Hello
To give you a precise answer, it will be interesting to know what DVD is not readable. Meaning of the word "media" is in general and not helpful to understand the problem.
Satellite A30 is old enough laptop model, and it is possible that the WEIRD feature is not good more. You can try to clean the lens.

Of Windows Media Player 11 in Windows XP Media Center Edition (SP3)
I AT & T U-Verse, and I am trying to download video clips at home in my online account so that I can display on the TV. When I select the option on the TV using the remote control that would search my computer for the files, I get a message that I need to select sharing on Windows Media Player 11 before U-verse can download files. I have Windows Media Player 10 on my math so I went online to download Windows Media Player 11. During the download I get the message that I have Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 version and I have Windows XP Media Center Edition version 2002 Service Pack 3. What should I do to download Windows Media Player 11 with success?

Windows Media Player 11 - DRM with OverDrive Media Console problem
I have WMP 11 installed on my laptop and Windows XP Professional. When I try to download Audobooks of the public library using Overdrive Media Console software, I get the following error:
Error 0xC00D2751: A problem has occurred in the digital rights management component. Contact Microsoft technical support.
I also noticed that when I click on the OverDrive Media Console software, the system information section States the following: "version of Windows Media Player DRM:
. I'm used to be able to listen to these audio books using the OverDrive Media Console, and Windows Media Player software. Why I get this message now? I would add that I recently had my laptop computer upgraded to a newer version that is different. Can this be part of the problem? How can I fix it? Thank you.
Alex
This is because the ProgramData folder exists only under Windows Vista/7. To reset the DRM system, follow the instructions at http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929642 (article mention Zune, but can be applied in more general cases too). Tim Baets

Cisco Media Player will not play my media after Windows 7 upgrade
Last week I upgraded my operating system to Windows Vista Ultimate 64 to Windows 7 Professional. I own a player DMP-100 which is directly plugged in my G from Linksys WRT54GS wireless router. My computer is also connected to the router, so this problem is not a wireless issue, but it wouldn't surprise me if it turns out be associated with a. When Vista was in charge, the DMP-100 router and Cisco Media Player is fine, although I had a devil of a time in the set up. When I decided to upgrade to Windows 7 Professional, I realized because the BONES were inconsistent that the upgrade would eliminate all applications and I have to reload everything.
When I rebooted Lela and the Cisco Media Player, I have none of the problems that I had with Vista in the configuration. However for some reason, the program does not play my media files. There is a default error message coming saying the Cisco Media Server can be turned off. This is not the case. More when I select a streaming radio station, the player, the server and software work fine. I feel, but the server isn't really pointing to my library, the library opens upward in the software. I unplugged and reset the player several times. I also deleted and reloaded the server & software media a number of times. I always get the same results.
I don't like on radio stations. I just want to be able to play my music and playlists. Anyone facing this problem before, and if so, is there a reason and a solution for this?
(Mod Note: edited post for the respect of the directive.) (Thank you!)
Eureka! It's the firewall after all. I thought I had everything checked when I added the AV Media Server and made sure the Cisco Media Player has been activated too. Once I disabled the firewall and restarted, the press began to play as it should. If something was definitely not right in the firewall. It turns out that I was a fool and never saw the 'advanced settings' until I read about it in WIndows help (something I should have done at the beginning). It was like a slap in the face. Even if the programs were activated, there is no rule created for TCP and 8015 remote port. It was clear as soon as I knew where to look. I created a new outbound rule to allow TCP access port 8015, and the program worked as if it was never a problem.
I want to thank you two people who have helped me through this and patience you while I flinched around this application and operating system. It was a total exercise in frustration, but also that of the discovery. I really appreciate your help. I thank you and my audio system thanks you too!

Record media of conflict on the same channel Center
Hello
I use windows vista ultimate.
In windows media center, I have planned 2 programs on the same channel, "koppen xl" and "slimste mens '.
A program is broadcast just after another on the same channel.
->, They are automatically on demand because I recorded the series.
A weird error tells me that there is a conflict of record between these 2, how is this possible?Normally, a conflict would exist if I want to record 2 programs that are broadcast at the same time on different channels...
But this is crazy. Therefore, I am not able to resolve the conflict record!
