Hello

If the DVD or the DVD? If all the drive might have a problem.

You have disk problems as the CD/DVD is actually 4 discs in 1 case (CD & DVD burning and)
Playback of CD and DVD). So it is not unusual for parts from 1 or 2 to not work so that others do
correctly.

If the burn is a burning question at slower speeds, or by using the master could help. A
CD/DVD cleaner might help.

CD/DVDs have a tolerance + - and your can read/write on the edge outside these discs
tolerances. They may be delivered, but it is generally more economical to replace the disk.

Step 1: Please do all the same underneath if you did some before as is often total
a process that solves the problem.

Try this - Panel - Device Manager - CD/DVD - double click on the device - driver tab.
Click on update drivers (this will probably do nothing) - RIGHT click ON the drive - uninstall.
RESTART this will refresh the default driver stack. Even if the reader does not appear to continue
below.

Then, work your way through these - don't forget the drive might be bad, could be a coward

Another possibility is that the cables are loose. Remove ALL power, then make sure that the cables in both
ends. Remove and replace, do not just tight. For laptops, you can often clean power and
contacts data with a pencil eraser.

Some DVD players do not use the Windows default drivers so check with the manufacturer of system and
manufacturer of device to see if there is a firmware or drivers for your drive if necessary.

my dvd player reads all movies what do I do to get it working.

I had this happen to my DVD player recently.  The problem was that the disc I was trying to see it used a copy protection system is not yet implemented by my DVD player.  Normally, I don't have the DVD player connected to the network, so he had not received the updates of the firmware since I bought the player.  After that I connected it, you download an update of the firmware and I could see the movie.

My recommendation to you is to see if the manufacturer of the DVD drive has an update of the firmware of your player on the website of the company and, if so, has it, then test again.

That is the way I use to access the computer disk (Windows Media player, iTunes), I get the same window.

I ran the anti-virus software, which has identified a virus, quarantined it and I removed it. I assured my drivers are up to date and I uninstalled equipment and reinstalled. • DVD Player Toshiba laptop not recognizing discs

My DVD player portable Toshiba Satellite M300 no longer recognizes discs.  When a disc is inserted, the player turns on but does not recognize that a disk has been inserted.  I have read that it is a problem with the installation of the Vista SP2 but unable to find a solution.  Can anyone help?

It is unlikely to be caused by the software (Windows), but is much more likely to be an optical drive down (hardware). Try to start with a bootable CD/DVD, your installation of Vista/recovery DVD for example (do not run recovery!) or a Linux Live CD. If the reader does not recognize the drive outside of Windows you will know for sure that the material is bad. Contact Toshiba technical support for replacement in this case. • Can speeds of DVD - I play slower pre-recorded DVD - Satellite P20 801

I have a Satellite P20 801. I think to buy a DVD burner, so I can transfer VHS to DVD hardware. If I recorded it at a slower speed, would I be able to play on my laptop? How can I tell if the DVD on the P20 player can play different rhythms - assuming that's possible?

    Thank you.

    Hello

As far as I know that the recording speed is not relevant for play. You can save on the minimum or maximum speed DVD and the DVD can be played on your P20. My previous laptop was P20 and I never had no problem with this.

I just posted this question a few hours before, but it seems to have disappeared from the forum, so go again us.

When I use the Toshiba Software to play a DVD, I get no image, although the interface commands and the sound is very good. The DVD player is fine when I use Windows Media player. This problem suddenly started a few days ago.

Surely, it is a software problem, as the DVD player would not work with Windows Media Player otherwise. However, I wonder why the software would suddenly stop working.
