Player will not be installed

I can't get reader installed on my machine. I run Windows 7 Ultimate operating system.

The continuses of installation as normal until a message telling me that I can't access the related to AcroRd32.exe\shell\read registry key. When I run the itOutils Acrobat cleaning tool, I retrieve the fragment next to the newspaper.

Fri Dec 28 10:59:47 2012 * error: fixing of registry key problem: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Applications\AcroRD32.exe\shell\Read\command, Error = error opening registry key.

Fri Dec 28 10:59:47 2012 * WARNING: last known problem could not be resolved

Fri Dec 28 10:59:47 2012 * Info: registry key not deleted: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Applications\AcroRD32.exe\shell\Read\command @ reason: 5

I tried to get the permissions for this key but cannot do so.

Is anyone any suggestions please?

Don't worry; This is a very interesting problem, and I hope we can solve it finally.  But I wonder how the registry permissions can get corrupted like that.  It is rare to Adobe Reader; I see a lot more often with Flash Player.

I did another script; See attachment.  This script will first set the owner to administrators, then use reg.exe to delete this annoying AcroRD32.exe key and all its subkeys.  I didn't test this script, as I am not on a system that has Adobe Reader installed right now, then I invite you to make an another System Restore Point before you run it.

The method is the same as before; Check out the BAT to C:\Program Files (x 86) file \Windows Resource Kits\Tools and run it.

PS the news not too bad, but something I can resolve only by personal appearance.  I would not otherwise go to anywhere in Europe in the middle of winter...

Great, glad you were able to get running.  Usually when you see this, it's a third-party virus scanner - usually a release or off-brand a - which is to stop the installation program.  If you want to help us improve Setup online, newspapers would be useful.  Otherwise, we keep links updated for offline installation programs displayed on the installation troubleshooting guide.

  • Player will not be installed - no error message

Current problem is (full explanation at the end), Adobe Reader isn't on my computer (Win 7 Ultimate).  I downloaded it from the Adobe web site.  He went through the installation process it is apparently normally and when the bar reached it's full and reading 100% niche fell out of the screen and nothing else happened.  AR did not appear at the time to choose the option 'Open with' when right click on a pdf file.  Research in Control Panel of configuration/programs and features, it is not listed as an installed program.  I retried the installation several times with several browsers (by suggestion of Adobe).  Help please!

What got me to this point: a couple of weeks, I had an unrelated problem and had to go back to a previous restore point.  Everything worked fine except that I started to have problems with AR.  The program would not start.  I got the error message "Failed to load Acrobat it's Core DLL".  I tried to reinstall with no improvement.  I thought that maybe uninstall AR and do a fresh install may do the trick.  The uninstall went well, but now I can't reinstall.  Once again, he appeared to reinstall OK with no error message but the program is not there.  Suggestions please.

    Trudy,
Try the following and let us know the results.
    Run these tools:

    System File Checker

    The system update tool

Take note of the results of the System File Checker.  Then after you run the two, run Windows Update.

You are able to update of AVG?
Any other antivirus (i.e. Norton, McAfee, etc.) has already been installed on this computer?
When you say 'Nothing' that you tried to install?
If you disable AVG and then run Windows Update you get a different outcome\error?

  • Adobe Flash Player will not install.

I tried several times to install the latest version of Adobe Flash Player, but it WON'T install.  It downloads fine, but when you click on install, load the Adobe's Installation file (window), but that he was doing the lock of my computer.  Why?  I had 13. What is installed and it has worked well, but kept getting a message that I needed to update the flash player, but the computer will not be installed.  He installed the other updates very well, so what gives.  When you try to install, the window is displayed, but does not install and the computer crashes.  I DO not close the Explorer window and even updated my IE from 10 to 11.  Still will not install.

Another problem I have is that the ANT downloader will not work either.  I click on it to download a file will not download YouTube downloader, but when you try to use it, it says that it is disabled.  Yet, when you go to "Manage Add on", and clicking it, it shows the Ant.com downloader is indeed enabled, but it will not work too.  They are linked, or do I have to have two separate problems?

Uninstall Flash player and re-install the latest version of download and run the Adobe Flash Player Uninstaller.

There are to many converters available on the net...

  • Windows media player will not play just goes to green screen

Windows media player will not play or will be windows media center. they have just the green screen of goto, it is solid

    Hello bluepole,.

    1. the Media Player and Media Center work fine before?

    2. the problem occurs with all types of files you play or any particular file?

Try the methods below to resolve this issue:

    Method 1:

Reduce hardware acceleration (or turn off) video hardware acceleration (if supported by your video card)

1 open the screen resolution by clicking on the start start button Picture button, click on the Panel, and then, under appearance and personalization, click on adjust the screen resolution.

    2. click on advanced settings, click the Troubleshooting tab, and then click on change settings.

    3. move the hardware acceleration slider to none to reduce or turn off video hardware acceleration.

    Method 2:

If you are not able to play all the files, make sure that the right codecs are installed on the computer for videos to play in Windows Media Player and Windows Media Center.

Refer to this article for frequently asked Codecs:

    Codecs: Frequently asked questions

    Method 3:

Make sure that you install the latest drivers for your graphics card. You can see the underside of section which will give you information on how to update the drivers:

  • Windows media player will not play my downloaded movies.

Original title: windows media player will not play my downloaded movies, so I know very lil on computers! Please help me!

I have LimeWire. I downloaded several movies and can't watch them. When I try, it automatically showed the windows media player, and then displays a message saying "Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The player might not support the file type or does not support the codec used to compress the file. "I looked for updates, perhaps thinking that I needed one, he says: there is no availiavle. I use the latest version of windows media player. any help would be greatly appreciated!

It's really a simple question, easy to fix. But if you are really not that familiar with the computer, you may want to ask a friend who knows enough to help you.

You can show it to your friend...
What you need is to 'google' for a FREE video converter.
Use the converter and changge movies in WMV file formats. (Sticking with the formats WMV, nothing else).
Once the conversion is complete, you can play these movies in your Media Player.

However, there is another alternative. Install a 3rd party media player called VLC. He plays any video fromats.
