"Please insert a disc into drive I" error message problem. Help, please!

I get the error message "Please insert a disc in the drive I" when I try to attach a drive external hard (in a case of hard disk) via a USB 2.0 to my Dell Dimension 8400 computer. I am running Windows XP Prorfessional.

When I attach an external hard drive that comes with its own enclosure as a Western Digital MyBook via the same cable USB 2.0 the following happens. Windows Explorer shows the new disks I and J. If I try to open the drive I have, I get the "Please insert a disc into drive I"message.» However, when I try to open the drive J I'm able to do it and see the files, in this case, the Western Digital MyBook. I can also open these files.

I searched the Internet for solutions to this problem. In some cases, the problem can be solved by renaming the drive letter, but this does not work in my case. Most of the sites I visited fail to provide a solution. Very many missions I've read on various sites, the problem seems to be related to error messages has Microsoft Windows. The solution would seem to have to disable this / these messages by changing the relevant parts of the registry. (See: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-system/logonuiexe-no-disk-there-is-no-disk-in-the-drive/7a158e14-6a56-4bfd-b1b5-796c3ccea3b0?page=2&tm=1341781513552, http://www.w7forums.com/please-insert-disc-into-drive-error-t11264p2.html, http://support.microsoft.com/kb/281345)

Unfortunately, the information that I found are too vague and contradictory to me. Microsoft seems to suggest changing the value of ErrorMode in CurrentControlSet so that the user gets more no error message 'hard' (modification of the: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Windows\ErrorMode value = 2). However, this suggestion for the backup of SQL Server databases. It also seems a bit drastic to turn off hardware error messages. In another post the suggestion is to delete upper and lower filters in the section of the registry that controls the hard drive. The problem here is that you may have to reload the software. Also, I'm afraid I'll mess up the registry.

I would be grateful to anyone who could tell me what parts of the need to register to edit and how to disable this message ' Please insert a disc in the drive I have. "

I suspect that the boxes of hard drive that does not open professional XP are somehow corrupt. Unfortunately, the error message keeps me from use any diagnostic software to examine the hard drives in these speakers. In this regard, I would be grateful to anyone who might suggest a diagnosis good freeware hard drive.

    Hello

This can happen if you have conencted some disk of the machine that has pictures and you have set up the photos in the screen saver.

You can try to change the photo screensaver can access the registry path if it exists.

    a. Click Start, type regedit in the search box and press ENTER.

    b. navigate to the

    c. If the screen saver is mentioned in the settings, then on the right you will see "FolderPath".

  • floppy drive please insert a disc into drive error message A

I TRIED 2 NEW FLOPPY DRIVES, AND EACH OF THEM GIVES AN ERROR MESSAGE THAT SAYS: S ' PLEASE INSERT A DISC IN THE DRIVE A.I DID A LOT OF CONTROLS AND I TRIED A LOT OF THINGS TO DO FLOPPY WORK.IT SAYS IN DEVICE MANAGER THAT THIS DEVICE IS WORKING PROPERLY. CABLES ARE NOT GOOD, OR IS IT A PROBLEM WITH XP? ARE MY BACKWORD CABLES, OR THE TWO DISCS ARE DEFECTIVE? IT WILL NOT READ OR WRITE. WHAT CAN I DO ELSE? IT SHOWS ON MY COMPUTER WHERE IT EXISTS AS A PLAYER A. I CAN FORGET ABOUT FLOPPY DRIVES IF I CAN'T GET AN ANSWER TO THIS PROBLEM. I ALSO READ THAT IT IS NORMAL FOR THE FLOPPY DRIVE, DO NOT SHOW ON THE SCREEN OF DISK MANAGEMENT. ANY HELP WOULD BE APRECIATED. - THANKS.

    Hello

    Exactly what you do when you get the message "Please insert a disk in drive A;

Your cables might be backward. Some cables I've seen can be connected backwards, but normally there is a lack of female pin and/or a physical bar that stops you place the cable correctly. In case of doubt, all cables (that I saw) have an edge that is color which is the limit where pin 1 is. Your motherboard and the floppy drive (s) should also indicate what is pin 1 (sometimes with the number 1) or sometimes by an arrowhead. In addition, the end of the cable with the twist must be connected on the floppy drive.

As you have obviously been disconnecting and reconnecting the cable, you should check for twisted on the Board and the drive pins.

The device does not show in disk management, but should appear in the Device Manager.

Don't you hear the drive trying to search the diskette?

    Are your formatted diskettes?

Have you tried a new pre-formatted floppy?

I do not recommend people to use diskettes these days. The reasons include

    • reliability
    • capacity
    • convenience

Also, although I did not buy the disks for centuries, I wouldn't be surprised to see that memory sticks are cheaper than a box of diskettes and hold much more data.

I would say get a memory stick and use it instead of floppy disks.

  • Error USB "Please insert a disc into drive F".

I tried to change the drive letter from device in disk management, but it still does not work... I really need to recover the files on this USB... Help, please

    Hello

Sounds like you have a problematic usb device, have you tried to go to Device Manager and look for the status of the usb you connected? It has a yellow sign? try to use the usb key in a different system, if it fails, you will need to go and download a 3rd party software and format your USB drive and then try to use recovery software in this case your usb will work but the files have 50 / 50 percent chances of recovering.

  • Application popup: wercon.exe - disc no.: there is no disc in the drive. Insert a disc into drive F?

Not too sure about what to put in.

In any case, this message came earlier today (it is what it says in the event viewer), when I went to run reports on problems and solutions. F is a DVD writer (SATA A one). I replaced the IDE DVD the other day. What is the DVD has to do with this opening program? : why it needs a disc, before it will open?   If I click on continue, it will open / run. Its update. Its been scanned for viruses etc with MSE. And it's clean. Anyone know?

Any information appreciated. Vista x 64 is on it. Thank you

In the end, I had to format. Something weird / strange has happened. This version of Vista is legitimate, BUT no matter what I tried, (after), if I changed the b/g for a solid color (blue).

Which is what it was originally, it changed in black after I rebooted.

And no matter what has been started (originally, Inc. MSE), the programs were running, but no icons appear on the taskbar.

And Virtual PC has been installed (I had installed an XP ISO with him). But what happened, wiped away completely! (as I did a system restore). Only prob was, SR has been disabled at the time.

And all the programs that were in the menu disappeared (the ones I installed, not windows default programs). Though even they were still installed (their records were there)

  • There is no disk in the drive. Please insert a disk into drive F:.

I use Windows 10.  I have several times the Question "Please insert a disc into drive F:. After one of the updated Windows Update, the problem disappeared for a few days. It is now again. Please do not ask what is obvious. There is no such disk to be inserted. I saw this virus in 2012. It is directly linked to Adobe. Especially at the start, Ps and Acrobat reader.

On a previous occasion when I had the problem, Windows (10) forced me to update. The problem disappeared.

Earlier I asked Windows Update, 2 minutes later the computer booted. The problem disappeared. I checked Acrobat, most boring, no problem. I have only checked Ps no problem. How long it will stay like that, I don't know. I can't MY DOCUMENTS, PICTURES, MUSIC some time yet. So, I'm not able to do anything with or for them. It will tell just me "Unauthorized" or something in that line.

    I appreciate your help.

  • Starting problems, get the error "there is no disk in the drive. Please insert a disk into drive \Device\Harddisk1\DR1.

1st problem: yesterday I started getting a popp window with the text following formulation - "there is no disk in the drive. Please insert a disk into drive \Device\Harddisk1\DR1' I have no idea what this introduced him or how stop it.  Any suggestions?

2nd problem: whenever I restart my computer or shut it down and then power up the white bar that moves from left to right only moving to halfway through and then stops. I then have to hold the power button in until the computer turns off again and then rehit the power button. When it starts to power back up the white bar is always in the Middle, but then begins to finally complete the passage to the far right of the box. This problem started when I loaded the software for my printer Canon MX870 new that I bought and installed in October 2010 and has been done since then. I removed and reloaded the software of the printer on three different occasions but the problem persists.

I have Production Premium with Encore CS6.  I created my first HD project, tested and received no error but when I went to 'Building' my project still on a BluRay disc, I got the error message "ERROR CORE 03".  What should I do to get this project on a BluRay disc?

In response to both Richard & Stan.  I received the error message ""device error", Code '3' notes Create Sequence of STC: cannot write file M25.»  Or something very similar to this, but I think it was exactly that.  It was my first HD project but used several times to make projects sustainable development without problems that were not of my own creation.  So it was a shock and cost me money and the failure to meet a deadline.  What I did: on-screen 'Build '.

    Format: Blu - ray,

    Output: Blu - ray Image,

    Source: Currrent project,

Destination: I Browse... d a location appropriate.  He managed a Blu - ray image.

Using reminder once again, step 2 - on-screen 'Build '.

    Format: Blu - ray,

    Released: Blu - ray Disc,

    Source: Disk Image,

Destination: my disc drive that holds a blank Blu - ray disc.  He managed a Blu - ray disc.

Then I found a job step 2 autour for the problem.  My question is this: I pay $70.00 / month ca to the people Adobe cloud to keep their software up to date and work as advertised.  I do not think I should spend a few hours and lose money looking for a problem created Adobe not yet keeping cs6, updated and works as promised.  I submit my first bug report.  My suspicion is that adobe considers that Blu - ray is out of style, and they do not care to correct this bug in still cs6.

I'd love to know the thoughts of others on this.

    Hello Stephen,

If you have upgraded your version of Creative Cloud Deskop App in the last 24 hours (to build the 2.1.1.110), you may experience installation problems with some modules that contain the locale specified in the MXI product. I believe in that paper textures Pro has a which may explain the error message.

Please note that we are aware of this problem and are working on a fix so please bear with us for the predictable a few days until we iron out the bugs and problems arising from the new version. Sorry for the inconvenience caused.

During this time if your Adobe applications are still on the 2014 CC or MORE (i.e. you have not improved their 2015 CC) then you can select the method 'install another way' described in the troubleshooting step and download the ZXP which allows to install by using the extensions Manager, as before.

    I hope this helps.
