  First of all, if this isn't the right place for my question, would you please tell me where I can ask questions about CC Flash / actionscript 3.

  I'm building a game (with CC Flash / Html Canvas / AS3, on a Mac) for players to help them play it by ear. The app plays a few notes (.wav or Mp3 files) and the user has to play on a piano.
  Here is an example of level 3. (Sorry it's a french version for the moment).

  For now, it works fine with the included virtual piano but as I want to add the ability to play more than one note at a time (ex: agreements), I want users to use their keyboard as input device.
  The only information I found on the Internet about the midi input/output are too old, and I have not found anything on the use of this feature with Flash.

  So, how to set a midi piano keyboard as input device and collect the notes?

  Can I use the W3org WebMidiApi? If yes how?

  I tried with ExternalInterface, but I was getting a lot of errors.
  Looking forward for an example using this method, I found another solution simpler. So simple I don't know why I didn't try it before.

  I just need to add 2 lines on my html page:

  event.data = playednote [1] / / this is the value of the note played on the keyboard this line replaces the alert.

  document.myFunction (playednote); MyFunc is a function in Flash/AS

  Your last tip about unchecking the output HTML is very useful! I have a lot of time.

  I've just updated CS4 yesterday - and it's fine except it is more help inside Flash? Help works really well in CS3, but it sucks in CS4. Is it possible in CS4 to recover old, really useful, help system? Right now I have cs4 and cs3 open just so I have a decent help system... If I do not use cs4 for this project, it would have disappeared from my system.

  and I got that simply by opening the Actions panel and then type getDefinitionByName, scoring by pressing F1 on my keyboard.

  I'm running Flash 8 on a MacBook Pro 17 "and I also installed on an iMac G5 and the same question is on both. I go to help > using Flash and there is no table of contents, and when I'm looking something like "interpolation" or "script" no results are found. It seems that the help content has disappeared somehow.
  
  How can I restore files from help from the CD without having to re - install Flash from scratch? Anyone knows even where the Flash help files live on the hard drive so maybe I can copy over my work machine?

  Just thought I'd post an update. It turns out that my help files is absent users > Shared > Application Support folder. Don't know how this happened, but I got my machine working, copied files on and now all is well.

  I finally understand it.

  I couldn't start a back b/c drive, it me did not start anything.

  I followed this chain of logic:

  -Downloaded the bios (2.35 is the one that worked for me)
  -Find the exe file in the winflash file.
  -Extract the files in archive exe using the 7-Zip program
  -Find the .fd file and rename it to JM41X64. FD (I read in a forum was unique in my laptop)
  -Copied JM41X64. FD and FLASH it is. EXE on a USB
  -A the battery and the hard drive out.
  -With its trendy diet I supported Fn + Esc and that you press the power button once while ensuring that the Fn + Esc has been always held down.
  -J' waited 6 seconds and release the Fn + Esc and seen the flashing flash player
  -After about 10 minutes, restarted the machine and the bios as like new.

  Later, I found that there was a hard drive problem.

  I want you guys should help more. All I needed was the name of the JM41X64 file. FD and you don't know how many hours I put into trying to find how simpy bios flash. It is not that difficult for someone with a b.s. in computer science to learn how. Couldn't we a m.s. back b/c the bios drive was messed up. F12 didn't work.

  I am trying to learn flash so that I can make flash games.  I intend to get their sponsored game portals and attach them to MochiAds - so, technically, it's commercial, Yes?

  This means so I can't use 'Help of Flash' or publications in the adobe Flash Developer Center to learn how to use the actionscripts?

  Of course I do not plan to outright copy - paste codes, but it would be nice if I could adapt and learn how things work.  Sometimes I'm stuck and I need a reference...  The last thing I want is to get into copyright problems.

  I'm not a copyright lawyer, but it does not seem plausible that you could copyright of basic information and wait then royalties if others use this basic information.

• Need help with Flash - really basic!

  Hi, I really need help with Flash and quick. I have to create an auto-run cd, but before I can create that, I have to make everything works! I took a class in College Flash, which up to 1 1/2 ago so im kind of knowledge missing!
  
  My first problem is as follows:
  I have the homepage, and it contains a button English and french.
  When you click on buttons, it brings you to the next page, either resourcesFr or resourcesEn.
  I tried to use the loadMovie script but and it works but the new page loads on the home page you can still see the English/french under buttons. How can I fix? I know its simple but I am short on time... Should I still use the loadMovie script?
  
  My other problem is that im trying to have another button to link to a folder. Use the script for getURL for this as well?

  I was able to solve my problem... it was only the forward slash that were in the wrong way... so the correct code is:

  I have 50 different images on my server, the images are loaded into the flash. and also, I created an HTML page that I will use to show the images. Now in flash when the user clicks on a particular image, this image should be loaded into the HTML code we already have on the server.

  So I need to pass the name of flash to HTML to find the clicked image is displayed. I also want to hide the tool, the State... on the HTML toolbar.

  If it is possible to load the HTML on full screen, that will be great.

• Flash HTML document read does not correctly... HELP Please

  Basically, I have a lot of text that contain underscores and everything good put things in form that the flash text cannot do. So I created a dynamic scrolling text box, loaded externally document txt containing all the right HTML tags for flash. But for some reason any flash cut the text. It will not show all the text that I have. I noticed that it seems to be cut off in SOME areas (not all) where I have a hyperlink. Someone at - it never deals with this before? He drives me crazy and I can't find ANY help online about it. If you have any suggestions, I'd be super grateful! Thanks in advance

  the ampersand is used by flash to indicate the beginning and end or a text variable/value pair charged.  for example, when you use an ampersand in text loaded you should encode.  26% is the correct encoding and that's the difference between your code and the code that I have proposed.

  My Macbook Pro has worked fine until yesterday. On startup, I get the flashing file, so I rebooted and held command + R. Once I have try disc recovery/upgrade to update OS/restoration I need a startup disk file to choose and everything is empty. How can I get the possibility of a boot disk? Do I need a physical disk? I just checked my box of the laptop and I don't have a physical disc.

  I have a problem with my Elitebook 8460p. My old servant me service for 3 years. We have a good relationship with highes and downs. Changed hard drive, the improved Rams, monthly cleaning and etc.

  In any case; I have a problem with flickers and flashes. When I push the start of (the computer On / Off), some strange black lines appear and never went. The funny part is that the black lines, flashes / flickers become crazy when I touch the touch pad. But if I touched the touchpad of the black lines just less.

  Things I've done;

  Electrical parts Checked - no electric leakage (verified to the ohmmeter)

  I tried to run with AC and battery - nothing has changed.

  I've been handicapped ambient light sensor - nothing has changed.

  I've been disabled touchpad - nothing has changed.

  Formatting, update the BIOS to the latest version of w7 updated, no unknown device, performed stress test CPU GPU & played back & assemble nothing has changed.

  My suspicions;

  CPU because this computer VGA card integrated with CPU. Change CPU, maybe to fix any problems.

  I want to switch my computer to my choice and i7: Intel Core i7 - 2670QM.

  My booking / questions;

  Intel Core i7 - 2670QM CPU is compatible with my Chipset QM67? If it is compatible; What should I do? (Updated the BIOS, or different version of BIOS etc..)

  It seems that the problem happened by "export all Spritesheets bitmap images.

  You can get a glimpse at this url testSS, it show well in desktop, but extremely blurred in mobile, (iphone6, iphone5, I guess that the whole retina...)

  When I disabled this option. All is well in the mobile... the picture quality is good. but the frequency is in turn to 88 times.
