Plug MIC not recognizing external mic

Hello

I have an Acer Aspire V5 - 572 G 8.1 Windows running and found that taking microphone does not recognize any external microphone that is placed in it. It does not detect the sound option despite the fact that all the drivers are updated. Does anyone have a solution to this?

Thank you

This seems to be a recurring problem in point 8.1. A poster on a site said to uninstall and reinstall the driver fixed sound.

    Hi all

I have a Satellite M70 and I have a Western Digital external hard drive.
Initially, it worked great, I was able to put my large collection of music, etc. on it and run a computer off to save space on my integrated HD.

But recently I had problems with XP not recognizing HD or be able to write in it. It appears in my computer, then disappear, often randomly when I write new files to it.
I reformatted the hard drive to NTFS as it ran originally as FAT32.

I updated my BIOS as well, but I'm out of ideas.

Anyone else had similar problems with XP?

  • Peripheral USB is not recognized (external hard drive)

I have a western digital external drive who worked originally on windows XP Edition family, unfortunately this computer crashed and had to reinstall everything. After ending, I went to retrieve some data off the drive and it keeps giving error usb device not recognized. I looked on a lot of different 'solutions' to nothing does not. I can connect to other computers running the same operating system and he shoots very well if it is not the drive. It seems as if a driver is missing, but I checked with Western Digital, and they say the questions is a mistake of operating system, all updates and service packs have been installed. Ive tried all online of the easy solution like just unplug the computer and the drive and restart, remove and reinstall the drivers in the OS System. In Device Manager its reports as an unknown device under the USB bus controllers section. I need to get this to work by car no matter either if it needs to be reformatted or repartitioned, but I can't even pull up on the drive to reformat so don't know what to do. any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

  • Windows 7 backup and restore not recognizing external hard drives

My laptop recognizes the drives external hard and other storage devices and I can read and manually copy files, etc for them. But the backup and restore told me that nothing is connected when I try to run it. Also, when I connect the external hard drive to a USB port, the menu that is displayed does not include the option of backup of the device just connect. Is there a setting I need to change in the backup and restore program? Or is there another solution that everyone is aware of it please?

    Hi Sally,

Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

    I understand that the backup and restore does not recognize the external hard drive, but Windows doesn't. I'll be happy to help you with your query. Let me ask you;

    1. Is - this happy with all external hard drives or individual?
    2. What kind of backup are trying to create, auto or manual?
    3. You did it recently no specific changes in the computer?

There may be several reasons why backup & restore does not recognize the external hard drive. Let's check out the steps below.

Step 1: Connect the device to a USB (Universal Serial Bus) and a different test.

Step 2: You can check if the services responsible for the backup of restoration & work or not.

Volume Shadow Copy and backup of Windows service.

To check the services, you can follow the procedure.

    (a) click Start.

    (b) in the Search tab, type Services.msc , and then press Efriendship.

    (c) now in the services window, locate Windows Backup service and Volume Shadow Copy services. Check if they are started.

Note: Check the services separately, and then close the Services window.

Step 3: Run the next Fixit and check if the disc is recognized.

Click here to launch the Fixit.

Step 4: You can try to temporarily disable the security software of the computer and check with the question. Later, re-enable the security software.

See: , disable the anti-virus software

Important: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attack.

Hope this information is useful. Please feel free to answer in the case where you are facing in the future other problems with Windows.

  • Reference Dell E1505 laptop - not recognizing external hard drive

I bought a Dell Inspiron E1505 year last with Windows Vista and just bought an external hard drive laptop ( http://www.toshibastorage.com/main.aspx?Path=StorageSolutions/ConsumerStorageProducts/NewUSBPortableExtHardDrive ) from Toshiba a few days ago.

My Inspiron E1505 does not recognize the drive.  I went to the Device Manager and the Toshiba drive does not appear.  However, the Toshiba portable external hard drive is recognized by my new laptop Dell XPS with Windows Vista.  I called Toshiba tech support and they said there is a problem with the operating system does not recognize the hard drive.  Anyone know how to solve this problem so that my Inspiron E1505 will recognize the Toshiba portable external hard drive?  The drivers are built into the Toshiba external hard drive so tehre are no drivers to download.

  • PC not recognizing external hard drive

    Hello

I have a HP Pavilion P6635UK (using windows 7 home) that I have used with an external drive WD successfully for several months.  Now, he does not appear to recognize the external hard drive.

When I connect via USB and then go to 'Start/computer' it does not appear. If I go on "Devices and printers" it appears and indicates that the device is functioning properly. If I open "Devices and printers", it will allow me to "safely remove hardware & eject media. What gives the beep when I do. I tried to use different ports USB (the Pavilion) but the result is the same.

He also appeared in the "Device Manager" as working properly. Using the "convenience store" it is said "Troubleshooting couldn't identify the problem." Other devices using the same all the USB ports work correctly

I also have a Compaq Presario notebook in which the WD external HD works fine.

    Any help would be appreciated

    Cyprien

I think I can solved this problem by myself (with a little research in the WD support forum)

Go to start, right click on computer, select manage, select disk management. The next column on the left will show all readers with their corresponding letter. My external hard drive doesn't show any letter entrusted to him. Right-click on where the drive letter should appear and select the path and change the drive letter. Select any letter you wish to call, and then click OK.

Now admittedly. But why it happened in the first place when he was working very well before I have no idea.

  • USB - external hard drive WD My Book 1230 is not recognized (Code 28 - access denied)

Problem started with the purchase of a an external 4 TB My Book Western Digital drive.

I bought this second external drive for backup on a fully functional IDENTICAL existing WD my book 1230 4 Tb.

My PC is a HP Pavilion e9180f running under Windows 7 64-bit.

The new external drive is not recognized by the PC... I get the error message

Device driver software was not successfully installed

Please consult the manufacturer of your device to help get this device installed

    My book 1230 X failed

Windows found driver software for your device but encountered an error trying to install it (USB Mass Storage Devive - access denied)

I tried the HDD not recognized on a HP Envy laptop running Windows 8 and it is recognized and work very well (if the disk is OK).

As a possible solution, I downloaded and installed the driver for the WD HARD drive without erasing the situation.

I tried to plug the WD My Book 1230 on all existing 7 port USB of the PC and the situation still exist.

In Device Manager the defective WD My Book 1230 appears under the category "other devices."

I tried the Microsoft Mr.Fixit running without correcting the problem.

You have a trick to help me solve the problem.

    Thank you.

Unfortunately, your procedure has not worked as the device could not be uninstalled from the Device Manager.

As I prepared to reinstall Windows 7, I gathered information from Control Panel - programs.

I did a search by the most recent dates, and I realized that an Application has been installed and I was not aware that I installed it.

The cause of my 9 day long search for a solution was a malicious program called Manager of adjustment by the AZTECS.

Removing and restarting desktop cured the problem.

Now all USB devices, including my Western Digital My Book 1230 are recognized.

Thanks for your advice, support and everything.

It is a "case closed" with a happy ending :-)

  • External hard disk is not recognized in my computer

My external Western Digital USB hard drive is not recognized in my computer.

I see it in Device Manager and computer management/disk management but not in my computer.

Update driver, a refreshed in disk management and several reboots.

The external hard drive is there but not recognized on my computer.

I need to restore from this external hard drive, but I can't access it.

most of the answers deals with reformatting... the original post says he wants recover from this drive to reformat does not help... the external usb drives, equipped with cables that have 2 ends of usb, connect the two in to; separated on the MB, separate usb hubs usb ports it is because power is causing problems (current rises to voltage drops) then sometimes access to the drive causes the voltage on a single falling down USB, think the os it's read-only / permission issues, with 2 connected to separate power sources the question goes... they were built that way...

I also recommend to never put a USB through a third party hub as more often which can cause problems with the unrecognized drive.

That said, yes I had to reformat to access a drive, if you cannot write to a disc rclick and observe the permissions, if you have formatted the drive on another pc and not changed the permissions for everyone, then under sercurity see you permissions set on a long number, it is because he is always set to original pc (or the id of this pc). Sometimes you can over the way these parameters by taking possession (in the s parameters) and reset to everyone on the local pc.

Something else I found on the disc is not recognized... Plug it into the usb port as described above and restart the pc, I got this job...

Note: I deal with almost all the avalible from different readers that my clients use them all.

  • external USB drives not recognized under xp pro 64

I bought a genuine version of XP Pro 64 to load on my computer and because Win 7 froze with drivers nVidia graphics.

When I plug a recently bought Seagate Goflex or one of the new Western Digital external hard drives, they are not recognized.

They do not show on my computer or disk management at all.

They appear in Device Manager with a yellow question mark big under 'other devices '.

I right click on the hard drive in the Device Manager to update the driver, and it always fails.

Before ask you, these USB drives work perfectly on my other XP Home 32 System. The cables are good.

I tried different ports, front and rear... no good.

My system XP 64 Prp is updated w/Windows update and software chip to the motherboard.

Strangely, I have a hard drive WD Passport USB 500 Gb one-year-old that works fine on XP 64 system.

WD technicians say that I am the only one with this problem. PlugNPlay needs no driver, what do say.

I also have IDE/SATA USB cable w / the power cable, I use to connect my old internal drives.

Works fine on the XP Home 32, but I get the error "USB to ATA/ATAPI Bridge" in the device with the 64-bit System Manager.

Yes these devices are all "turned on."

Something is missing on the XP 64 system.

    Help is very appreciated.

Been looking for a solution for a week now.

  • External hard drive gives USB not recognized error

I have a Western Digital Passport 80 GB HD, which worked fine with XP until today.  I plugged this morning and received an error not recognized USB.  I followed the troubleshooting tips and online help.  It seems that in most cases, if you go to computer management / disk management, you can see the external hard drive.  This is not the case with mine.  I don't see the player.  I downloaded the recovery software, but everything is based on the premise that the drive appears.  Mine does not work.  Can someone help me?

    Thank you.

Unfortunately, this drive has probably went wrong.  Have you tried another cable to connect your player to your computer?  It may be a long shot, but it is possible that the cable could be damaged.  You may need to take your car to a specialist in recovery to recover the data.  I apologize for the bad news.

  • WD external hard drive not recognized

I have a Western Digital MyBook external hard drives.  I bring it with me to different places and one day when I got home I plugged it in my PC and nothing happened.  The HD is no longer recognized.

I checked the Device Manager and it does not appear there or it appears in the list of devices for the assignment of drive letters so is not the problem.  While he was just USB I could see that the computer has been grateful something was plugged to the USB port, but that's all.  I removed the HD from its holster and hung in to my computer and always directly nothing if it is not a cable problem or power.

I went to the site of WD and tried their repair program, but wasn't able to only detect the drive either so no luck there.

I also tried to remove the UpperLimit registry or whatever it's called but there no LowerLimit registry to remove.  I've restarted and nothing changed.

I'm really of ideas here, and at this point, I want to at least be able to use it again even if it means a complete reformat even if I got a lot of things about what I lose enough.

You say that is not recognized by your computer.

And their repair program cannot be found.

Have you tried to plug it into another computer and see if it is approved by it?

If it isn't, it is probably the player that has the problem.

    See you soon.
