  I deleted the printer then tried to assign the LPT1 port.  No help here either.

  If someone can help me with the installation, so I can get my documents to print I would appreciate it a lot.

  You do not have an LPT port.  When you select the LPT port data are always written him even if your computer does not have the hardware installed to make it work.  It would work if you have installed a parallel PCI Port card.

  USB001 would be the first choice, then USB002...

  Same problem here.  The symptoms are slightly different w7-32 and w7-64, but the starting point is the same, that is, the file dialog - record often does nothing when I click on "Save".  Sometimes, after repeated clicks or wait a minute or two, it will work.  Sometimes it will work immediately.  The only way that it still works, it is if a file of the same name already exists in the target folder, and then select this file in the folder view, and then clicking "Save" allows the dialogue to "complete" (with a message "replace?").   Sometimes under w7-32, by selecting the drop type file helps also.   The problem occurred in my own applications, so I can choose to use the 'XP' or 'Vista' dialog style, but both exhibit the same behavior.

  I don't really see your layer panel, but your image, looks like you are trying to mix a layer against the background transparent. You need two layers of mixture. It does not work against a transparent BG.

  I just went into msconfig > Services tab, deselected "Intel HD Graphics Control Panel Service" and restarted the PC.

  You will always have access to the graphical control panel, but Ctrl-Alt-arrow is no longer blocked in Photoshop.

  Laptop does not recognize the iPhone 4S when plugged into one of the 4 usb ports. All the usb drivers are up-to-date. All the udates win 8 and HP have been installed and are ongoing. Ports recognized so sticks of memory seem to work. Is there a special driver needed for iPhone?

  I'll have you to answer a few questions to understand exactly what is happening:

  1. When the iPhone is connected to the laptop, there is no pay?
  2. When the iPhone is connected to the laptop, it appears in Device Manager?
  3. ITunes is installed?

  After experimenting with different settings, I was able to get a page to print that says "* s1M.  I don't know how it happened or what it means.  This suggests that the PC is 'talk' to the printer.  However, I was unable to reproduce this.

  HP support was able to help me, and I've been searching for an answer.  Someone at - it suggestions?  I wouldn't give up using a "workhorse" reliable printer for years. "

  You do not have a parallel port on the machine.  Whatever it is sent to the parallel port device should fail on writing.   Change the port to the port of USB00n, created when you plugged the cable.  You will see the port listed in the list of ports.  This will usually USB001 when you have not all printers attached otherUSB.
