Poor SMB combined

I have a 6 ESXi host with an iSCSI NAS Raid 10 for storage. I also have a Hyper-V host running with a virtual machine on the same host. I tested file transfer performance SMB between guest virtual computer. What I'm running into is when copying large files and comments of the VM on the VMware host after about 2 GB, the file transfer slows down of 110MBps at all about 45-50 Mbps. This problem does not occur on the Hyper-V VM host so I know this isn't a hardware problem. The guest VM is also the 2012 R2 server.

So I did more tests and actually increase the number of IOPS / s for Round Robin to 100 effectively resolved the SMB performance. However, I still see a problem with the Round Robin and he doesn't want us more 120mbs between all 4 network cards. I've read some things that my understanding was with Robin, I should be able to use fully all 4 cards, but now I can't.

  • Is it possible to combine or consolidate multiple emails in one pass to a recipient?

I want to send several emails in an email with a topic to a recipient - rather than forward several emails with different sections to a recipient. They are several parts of a theme and I want to group them and do not have a lot of individual emails which can be separated.

Is this possible. If so, how.

I had to copy - paste the text of the relevant messages in a new message.

If you transfer a single e-mail message, you can choose to send as an attachment, or as 'in-line', which means that the text to appear in your new message. I don't know of any formal event or automated to combine several e-mail messages online in a single new message or document.

You can transfer multiple messages, but to do this, they must be sent as attachments, which seems to be something, you don't want to. If I read you bad and poorly understood your feeling on the attachments, then you can attach some old messages to another by drag - move in Thunderbird, dropping them in the right part of the address box in the new message. (BTW, you can use this method to set any file.)

Another approach would be to copy - paste the text of these messages separated into a new document in your word processor and send as an attachment.

Part of the problem is to examine how the text would be more useful to your recipient. Send emails as attached or online, email makes sense since your correspondent will have the necessary tools (an e-mail client program) on hand to work with these messages. If merge you in a word processing document, you must check before to see if it will be useful to your correspondent.

  • SSH and SMB service starts not more

    Dear community,

After you have installed the Add-it-Analyzer Log my RN10200 started having some problems that I was not able to see the shares via Samba more. I tried to connect via SSH to see what is the problem, but also the SSH no longer works. Since the web-admin panel still works, I tried to enable SMB and SSH in the Panel, but it briefly passes green and gray then again. I also tried to uninstall the add-on, but now get a package manager error. I then tried to reinstall the operating system using the boot option, but that did not help either.

I removed the hard disks in the unit and their read-only to see what is poorly mounted. There, I found some permissions to be set wrong on the system partition:

could be the cause of the problem? Other ideas how to get SSH and SMB work return service or more diagnostic information?

I have a backup of everything so a complete reset would be an option. However, I would like to understand the problem and solve it rather by using telnet, as seems to be a simple problem? It would be enough to reset permissions? What else could be causing this behavior?

    Thanks for the tips

You will have to go folder by folder and read all the files, he complains and chown the permissions back to root instead of comments. Loïc but eventually you can get everything again.

  • E4200: Possible to share USB SMB to WAN?

I realize that the E4200 User Guide says for remote access you should / must use FTP, but I would that my actions of Windows (SMB/CIFS) are available for the outside world. I tried a few combinations different configuration of redirection of port and other things on my DSL router and the E4200 himself, without success so far with (obviously, that's why this post!).

The only thing that has been a success so far uses another device on the local network to mount and then re - share, with port forwarding pointing to this device instead of the E4200. I'm glad that it works, but I would like to remove this device from the equation if possible.

Does anyone know a way to expose the Windows from an E4200 shares towards the outside world? Thank you!

I checked ports and such with my SMB mount/re-share original installation using another device on the network. I am convinced that it is simply very difficult if not impossible to convince this router to accept SMB of WAN connections.

My solution was to install TomatoUSB and rsync, as at the end of the day, my goal was to be able to mirror on the USB drive attached on the side WAN. I didn't try to do it via FTP; It turns out that rsync is probably better that mount a remote SMB sharing and synchronization to that. I hope this helps someone else later!

From the day that VPN has been implemented, the performance was poor. Frequent disconnections sessions live to the VPN nodes and very low transfer rate was alarming to users.

The servers in A location and users to the site B gets authenticated at the server DC level in A location

Applications of Terminal Server remote as Quickbooks, QQ Evolution, attendance RX serve also the location has by users to the location B

The login is your time and all applications are extremely slow.

I tried to copy files between share data between two locations and the results are as follows

    Location A to location B-> 130 Kbps 140 Kbps

    Location location B A-> 150 Kbps to 160 Kbps

What can be the problem for these poor performance VPN?

-Change the encryption for the least secure OF THE /MD5 would have a significant impact because it can reduce the overload on the routers?

-Even if both routers are routers SMB, it has really good VPN flow according to the data sheets. I couldn't find VPN flow mentioned in the WRVS4400N data sheet. One of the sons of CSC, I also noticed the VPN of WRVS4400N flow seemed really low as only about 1.6Mbps. (https://supportforums.cisco.com/thread/2107881)  Whereas RV220W router has VPN 90Mbps flow, according to the datasheet.

So, what can be the cause of the problem and what can be fixes possible?

    Help, please!

Beginner to router Cisco VPN, please help

RVS4000 was designed to work in a small office. It supports 5 VPN tunnels with a maxium of 2 Mbps flow measured in a laboratory environment. It has a processor that has a motor integrated IPS, who would deliver 20 Mbps LAN - WAN throughput when IPS is enabled.

RV220W has been designed to operate in a slightly larger office with 25 IPsec VPN tunnels. It has a processor that has a built-in cryptographic engine able to deliver throughput 90 Mbps of IPsec. RV220W also supports 5 SSL VPN tunnels that can be used by employees and business partners for remote access.

  • Estimate of poor cardinality using Bind Variables

Hi I'm using the 11.2.0.4.0 Oracle version. I have a query that is underway for the plan of the poor execution by the estimate of poor cardinality for two tables (I've extracted and published this part only) as I mentioned below, the individual conditions for which the estimate goes bad and moving entire query execution path.

These are for two tables and currently we use BIND variable for them in our code, and I notice, its best estimate gives with literals. I need to know how to handle this scenario that I need this query to execute for all types of volumes. Is there something I can do without changing the code, as it works well for most of the execution? In the current scenario of the main query that uses those below tables providing a plan (index + nested loop) that works very well for small volume, but running for 10 hr + for large volume as ideally its going to the same regime.
And Yes, most time that this request will be hit for small volume, but killing some appearance of large volume presents the performance of the queries.

Here are the values of the variable binding.

    B2 VARIABLE VARCHAR2 (32);

In fact for literals, I did not find any section of the predicate after running the sql code with activation "set autotrace traceonly explain."

The main problem is with another large query whose cardinality is underestimated due to the presence of these table (table1, table2) with the above mentioned clause, and the query is for the analysis of index + nested with values of Bind loops and take 10 hr +, whereas with literals, its completion in ~ 8minutes with FTS + Hash Join.

Your real problem is that you try to have just a single SQL query handle all POSSIBLE thanks to the use of embedded FILTERS ' either / or ' filters in the WHERE clause.  You want only a select this OPTION to run whatever filters have been selected at run time by the user or the application using it.  And it would never work.  You really need to SELECT different queries for different combinations of filter conditions.

Why?  Think for a minute.  How Oracle works internally?  A SQL SELECT query gets analyzed and an execution plan is produced which is stored in the library cache and gets REUSED on all subsequent executions of this query - except in certain cases where there may exist several plans run through several cursors of the child.  So with only SELECT a query you only AN execution plan in the library cache, to be used by all THE executions of this query, regardless of the value of your run-time binding variables.

Lets put another way - each library cache execution plan is associated with a SQL statement.  If you want a DIFFERENT execution plan then you need run a DIFFERENT SQL statement.  That's how you get a different execution plan - by running a different SQL statement.  Running the SAME SQL query generally you will get the SAME execution plan every time.

In addition, because of the "either / or" filters that you use you will end up generally with a full Table Scan on each of the referenced tables.  Why?  Given that the optimizer must produce an implementation plan that manages all possible contingencies for all values of possible bind variables in the SELECT.  If the optimizer should choose to use any index based on one of these "either / or" filters then it would only help performance when real value was provided, but it would be really bad if a NULL value was supplied.  If the optimizer ends up ignoring the index because they are not always optimal for all possible input values and instead chose a plan that is "good enough" for all input values possible.  That means that it will use a scanning Table full.

I hope you can see that it is precisely what is happening for you with your query.  You select this OPTION to manage the different combinations of filter, which leads to the execution plan only one, which leads to scans full Table on the referenced tables in these ' either / or ' filters.

The solution?  Build queries SELECT DIFFERENT when input values are NULL.  How you do that?  Read this article to ask Tom that tells you:

    http://www.Oracle.com/technetwork/issue-archive/2009/09-Jul/o49asktom-090487.html

To sum up - when you have real value for a bind variable 'bind_var1' add the following filter to your CHOICE:

    AND column_name1 =: bind_var1

When the binding variable is NULL, add the filter according to your CHOICE:

    AND (1 = 1 OR: bind_var1 IS NULL)

Now, you'll have 2 queries SELECT must be performed, which have exactly the same number of variables in the same order bind, which is important.  When you then run one of these variations, Oracle can analyze and optimize each one SEPARATELY, with a single execution by the SELECT query plan.

When you provide a real value, the filter is a normal 'column = value' that the optimizer can use all indexes on this column, because NULL values are not referenced.

When there is no real value, the optimizer will analyze the '1 = 1 GOLD' and realize that "1 = 1" is set to TRUE and GOLD, it is quite TRUE regardless because the binding variable is null or not.  This means that the optimizer will actually REMOVE this filter, because it filters nothing because it is always TRUE.  You will end up with an operating plan based on the other filters in the query, which is what you want because you have no filter on this column.

What is it - producing distinct SELECT queries to determine if you have a real value to filter or not you end up with DIFFERENT execution plans for each of them, and each of them is OPTIMAL for this particular set of filters.  Now you get good performance for each variation of the performance of the SELECTION, rather than sometimes good and sometimes very bad when using SELECT only one.  It is impossible to try to get multiple shots of execution 'optimal' out of a SELECT query.  That's why you get mediocre performance under different bound the values of the variables.

  • Poor performance during copy/clone a VM disk

    Hello

for several days, we try to find a solution to improve performance when the computer images virtual of one ESXi (free) to another.

    Our situation is as follows:

We have 4 different servers ESXi running, must benefit from all the material according to the compatibility of the VMWares guide. Connected via gigabit, all virtual machines network has stopped, nothing else running on the network. All virtual machines are stored locally on SATA drives.

Now we wanted to spend a bunch of computer images virtual of one ESXi for others - but regardless of what technique, we used, we have reached a maximum. Speed about 10 MB/s (which would take several days to transfer everything).

    We tried the following:

-Enable SSH and SCP allows you to copy the files directly between servers (using several different encryption algorithms)

-Use Veeam FastSCP for copy files directly

-Connect through SSH on both sides and has used a combination of tar and netcat to push raw on the network files

-Install ProFTPD and copy files via FTP

For all of these methods, the write speed was never over the ~10MByte/s (often it is still slower). So we thought that the networking might have a problem, that's why we tried a few transfers the.

But even a local "dd" to transfer data of 1 local disk to another was just as slow as the transfer of network... We tried this on all the different materials of ESXi we have, with the RAID on, off, etc.

After some googling, we discovered that this should be a problem with the VMFS that really does not support the use of "standard" file system tools That's why we tried to find a way to use the ESX-internal tools to copy/clone VM images.

We installed a NFS server 'between' 2 ESXi servers, i.e. both have the NFS share accessible. Copy of ESXi to NFS is incredibly fast (via vSphere client, operating at gigabit full speed) - but the copy of NFS to ESXi is slow again (as before ~10MByte/s). The last test we did was use the vmkfstools command line utility to clone from the NFS share on the local disk of VMFS. This seems to be a little faster (difficult to measure due to missing statistics, seems to be ~20MByte/s), but far from a quick fix.

What is the mechanism to move a virtual computer image on a server ESXi? Is there a way to improve the transfer speed?

Yes, he does. As I said, this problem (poor local disk IO performance observed in ESXi, but not in the virtual machine) can be eliminated only by 'mature' raid-controller with large onboard cache, usually 512 MB - 2 GB (or storage network, of course, but now we are talking about local drives).

It does not matter if you have a local drive attached to the controller chipset or raid - without performance cache controller is just as bad. In fact, it can be even worse on raid-controller (without cache) If you use raid5/6 to parity calculations...

  • Poor video quality on DVD created by still

I use Premiere Pro CS6 for editing of video clips in 1280 x 720. I linked the first sequences to still and created the DVD in Encore. I did not flow sequences Media Encoder first but, rather, leave everything still manage transcoding and compression.

The first video is superb. The video during preview in Encore looks great. But the quality of the video when it is burned on a DVD is ugly. I think that video on the DVD is only standard definition, but the text is still blurry and images are picky and serrated, more than I expected. Is there something else I should do first or to ensure a higher quality DVD?

    Thank you

    Dan

In case someone else has the same problem and is reading this post, I'll post my solution:

I tried pretty much all possible combinations. One that works the best for me was to export the first sequences in Media Encoder format MPEG-2 DVD, and with default values for NTSC progressive screen wide high quality.

However, what struck me most surprised is that, although the video was not good on my computer, it seemed still quite poor light with my DVD on my HD TV.   However, my equipment (TV and DVD) is about 9 years old.  When I played the DVD on DVD player for my daughter and the HDTV, which they bought last year alone, I've seen a dramatic improvement in quality.  Same DVD, just different equipment. Apparently, on older equipment, algorithms that upscale the SD video on a DVD to play on a HDTV are not as good as they are on the latest equipment. At least that's my opinion on the matter.

So, if you are having quality issues with your DVD try my settings and don't forget to play on newer equipment.

  • How to combine audio tracks in first Elements 7?

My audio cable went wrong whiel film a program & I only audio on a track. Is it possible to combine titles in first Elements 7?

    Thank you

If you have a clean signal on a channel, and the other is empty, you can use the Audio effect > fill left or right to fill, to return to two channels. Note, this will be 2 channel stereo and mono right, but will sound very similar, just, without separation.

Now, if you have no clean channel, but one problem with the other (poor Audio), I take the Audio portion of your file in an Audio editor like Audacity and strip the wrong channel, and then simply duplicate the right channel to replace. That's basically what fill left, etc., but if you have bad Audio, you will want to clean first.

    Good luck

  • Need help with files combining script

Hey guys, I'm a graphic designer who is really hoping most commonly the code can someone help! I have several hundred images that need to be combined. A client gave me a folder of images and their alpha cards as separate files. I need combine each image and alpha map and export the new image format PNG 24 with transparency. Doing so by hand will take forever, do this with a script is going to be awesome. The script must:

    -Open Filename.png

-Create a duplicate of the background layer (as background layers may not have masks it seems)

    -Remove the background layer

-Add a layer mask to the new double layer

-Open filenamea.png (the alpha cards follow convention assignment of names + a .png file name)

-Copy filenamea.png into the layer mask to filename.png

-Save the filename.png for Web and devices such as a PNG 24 with transparency in a folder called converted (to avoid overwriting the old image)

I'm sure it's more complicated, it seems, but is - someone up to help a poor, illiterate code GD?

Here's a JavaScript solution only, for the curious. Save it as MergeAlpha.jsx and run it from Photoshop.

  • Can I combine 3 accounts 1 Apple?

I've made several purchases (apps, music, movies) from the iTunes store.  Unfortunately for me, until I realized it was a problem, I made the purchase of three different accounts.  I asked once before and I was told that it was impossible to combine accounts.  The situation has changed, or is there a reasonable workaround?

If it proves impossible, maybe set up a family sharing and the other two ghosts that is your family.

  • Poor - and not yet no answer customer service!

    Hello!

My apologies for the weird subject but heading I really wanted to attract someone's attention because at the present time (a guy called Paul online support side) nobody came back to me at all about my recent visit to your store from Covent Garden and the very disappointing time there.

In short if your management team he has just done what they said they'd do and return my call to discuss things further as a guy named will be very kindly suggested I do we would not be here!

This email comes from me trying to talk to a member of the management team after my visit to Covent Garden on September 22 and the feedback left by me after my experience so far here.

Will me has called and left a message on 30 September by inviting me to remember to discuss also I have does - no call back. So I didn't call back the next day - no call back and the next day still no call. We are now on day 5 and after talking to someone in the store who very frankly really seemed to not want to be there and really seemed not the least bit interested to help me at all I'm resigned now pretty much on the fact that I get not this call and will not in fact also discuss how some members of staff there myself and the day my wife turning what was supposed to be one of the highlights of our stay in London in one of the low points.

I talked to a representative of the online customer service which was fantastic, although itself also agreed that realistic, my chances are slim to a call back that he was however able to seize a member of the business team that supposedly spent on the information of countless previous officials do not have in the hope of a return call We'll see if it succeeded or not - I doubt that very much.

So I'll now emailing this email to all the world that I can at Apple, to raise awareness on the fact that your ship called the flag shop in London (while the street regent is under renovation) has not only some very few poor staffing but also issues clearly a massive communication issues. I have to wonder how the store works effectively in this management, I myself am a branch manager and would like to know of all these questions should they arise and also to know the importance of the Dodge don't no calls - or even potentially conflicting ones. Clearly here, it is not the case, and as such I have to say that I will never to set foot in this store again.

You do not discuss Apple here. This is a user to user support site, and your long message falls on deaf ears. To inform Apple that you are disappointed by something, use their site here, http://www.apple.com/feedback comments

  • Poor iPhone reception 7 more

    Hello

I've recently updated to iPhone Plus 7 and I get horrible reception, people cannot hear me or I sound muffled, (I had no problem on my 4S or 6 more).  My provider is the same, Bell Mobility to the Canada and I use the phone I did the others, there is also no case on the phone.  Sometimes, I noticed the signal bars in every way, I know that this isn't an exact science, but they've been very erratic.  For the most part, I hear I'm talking about, but people have a hard time hearing me, everyone has noticed poor call on their iPhone is received 7 more or have a fix for this problem?

    Thank you

    JD

  • Image Capture App combining OS Sierra files

Hi I have a problem with the application of Capture of Image integrated into the Apple OS since the update to the Sierra. Before the update I scan documents into the feeder of my MFP as a PDF file and select 'combine them into single document option. of course, I get a PDF file with the scans in. I would then analyze an other internal documents and again, I would get another PDF document with them in.

Since the update OS Sierra and using the same settings as the first PDF file is created in the end, however when I go to scan the next set of documents Yes it creates another PDF file with these files in but she also adds the previous set of scanned files to the same doc. This continues for each subsequent set of scanned files. The only way I managed to prevent this must either exit the Capture Image soft after each set of scanned documents or in the test results window, select the magnifying glass next to the analysis the folder Apps of Capture Image temporary Doc and send these files to the trash. It's as if the app is no longer clearing Temp files between scans automatically.

    Hi Simon.B82!

I see you have a problem with the scanning of documents in the application of Capture of Image.  I know it's important to have your applications work correctly, and I'm happy to help you.  To further isolate the issue, please create a new administrator account on the Mac.  A test to see if the problem of scanning is always present in the new user account.  Here are the instructions:

  • AFP vs SMB performance

I've just updated to the latest version of Sierra.  I thought I had read somewhere that SMB was preferred over the AFP in Sierra and that performance would improve.  I don't see any improvement.  My results are so radically different, I thought that I post to see if anyone can tell me why my performance SMB is so catastrophic?

I have a Mac Pro (non-cylindre) on a home network wired gigabit.  Synology DS412 + NAS running 4 disks in RAID 5.  I mounted it my my Mac using the basic option "Connect to Server" in the Finder and typing "afp://server:share" and "smb://server:share" for testing.  Both were mounted and tested separately, which means I am disconnected from the AFP before Assembly and test SMB.  I used rsync with some verbose options to copy a 1.5 GB file in order to see the speed and get a transfer of the statistics.

Here are the stats to transfer the file to AFP:

    [josh@jeter /joshtmp]-> transfer diskimage. ISO/Volumes/FILES/tmp /.

    Building file list...

    1 file to examine

    DiskImage. ISO

    1.49 G 100% 52.18 MB/s 0:00:27 (xfer #1,-check = 0/1)

    Number of files: 1

    Number of transferred files: 1

    File size: 1.49 G bytes

The total size of the transferred file: 1.49 G bytes

    Literal data: 1.49 G bytes

    Matched data: 0 bytes

Size of the file list: 121

List of files generation time: 0.002 seconds

List of files transfer time: 0.000 seconds

Total number of bytes sent: 1.49 G

Total number of bytes received: 42

    received bytes sent to 1.49 G 42 bytes 52,20 M bytes/s

total size is 1.49 G speedup is 1.00

I think it's a pretty decent speed, but my concern is not the top speed, is the disparity.

    Here is the SMB speed:

    [josh@jeter /joshtmp]-> transfer diskimage. ISO/Volumes/FILES/tmp /.

It seems that Apple still did not set their "quick and dirty" dose for such Badlock described in this thread: El Capitan 10.11.5 update slow SMB (bug)

If you believe that your network is protected from man-in-the-middle attacks and the bug Badlock, then you can disable the client for signature.

    1. Create a nsmb.conf file in / etc with vim. sudo will be necessary.
    2. Write to the file:

    [default]

    signing_required = no

Then restart your machine. Your SMB3 speeds should be comparable to the AFP again.
